Ijssalon de Hoop absolutely deserves 5 stars for the quality of their ice cream. So why only 4 stars? If you order a cup with, say, 3 scoops, they'll wipe the cup clean, and your last chosen flavor will be returned for at least half the price, but you'll still pay €1.60 per scoop. That last scoop wouldn't quite fit. Are we dealing with shrinkflation here?

Delicious ice cream from ice cream parlor De Hoop. We often go there from Ermelo to Blaricum to enjoy a delicious scoop of ice cream, and many more think so, and everyone waits patiently until they are served.

Yesterday, I had the chance to try cookie ice cream at the Heritage Festival at the Dutch Fortress Museum. I completely understand why this place was chosen as the best ice cream shop in the Netherlands. It was incredibly delicious! It's also great that they have a charming ice cream cart for on-site dining.

The ice cream is delicious but the whipped cream is expensive, small tufts and if you ask for a slightly larger tuft they charge double, when asked if they were serious about this for that small rotten bit of whipped cream the double price they were persistent behind the counter and acted as if it was completely normal. I said that they had seen me there for the last time, there are enough ice cream parlors that serve normal portions of whipped cream

Delicious ice cream, but unfortunately shrinkflation has also struck here. If you order 3 scoops of ice cream in a tub, you then get a very small tub of which you think in advance will 3 scoops fit in? Well, that works if you stuff tiny scoops in and also smooth the top of the tub so that no ice cream sticks out. A bit disappointing. I would gladly pay a bit of money for a good quality tub of ice cream. But here it is very obvious (or actually not) that they use as little ice cream as possible, but still charge the customer the full price. Too bad.

All due respect for 100 years, ice cream was not at all good. I went after seeing the news article saying this is best location for icecream. Took pistachio and hazelnut flavour and was totally disappointed. Watery and no real feel. If you have ever been to Italy and had a real gelato, this will be a true disappointment. I recommend the ice cream bar at Hilversum across the main church for better taste that this Photo was taken before I ate thinking I will enjoy it. The smile was gone

Undeniably the best in the Netherlands again, congratulations, but I still have a small thing. When I ask for 2 buns, the choice is cone or bowl. Cone 2 buns, bowl 1 bun and then a scraped bun, explain that to me. Meager kitchen master? Where does this suddenly come from, I pay for 2 buns, then give 2 buns, also in that bowl. Greetings.

Ever since I was a little kid I've been coming to IJssalon De Hoop, and there's still no better place for me. I don't get the same satisfaction anywhere else, the flavors are intense, pure and truly heavenly. Every scoop of ice cream is a true experience. What makes this ice cream parlor truly special is not only the craftsmanship in the ice cream, but also the warmth of the staff. Always friendly, patient and hospitable. Even when it's busy, the sweet owner takes the time to greet us personally, that kind of sincere attention makes every visit special. We come here with the whole family, generation after generation, and it remains a fixed summer ritual that we look forward to every time. Thank you, team De Hoop, for all those years full of love, taste and memories. You make more than ice cream, you make moments.

Een paar keer per seizoen nemen wij op de A1 de afslag Blaricum om even bij De Hoop ijs te eten. Dit ijs vinden wij echt lekker en je krijgt echt waar voor je geld. Het is er altijd druk (dat zegt al heel veel), maar ondanks dat hoef je nooit lang te wachten. Ruim assortiment, voldoende plek om even te zitten en personeel is altijd vriendelijk.

I’m not even a sweet tooth or an ice cream fan. But hands down the best icecream I’ve ever had.

One is the best, most awarded, ice cream places in this area. Eat in, take out, ask is possible. Don't let the long queue scare you away, it goes quick enough and totally worth it.

Just 40 minutes before closing time I wanted to order three pints of ice cream. To my surprise the employee thought it was too late for an order. I was asked to stand in line myself, as if I hadn't been ordering by phone for years and then just picking it up. The employee sounded annoyed and almost hung up. Eight disappointed children are now looking at me with wide eyes.

Really the best ice cream I have ever eaten in the Netherlands. What a great place, nice service too. Always busy, but that makes sense, and the wait is more than worth it. The dame blanche has real liquid chocolate from a top chocolaterie, I would recommend everyone who loves chocolate and ice cream to try the dame blanche there, then you will never want a dame blanche anywhere else. The coffee is also top quality, and you get a mini ice cream served with it, really nice.

De Hoop has 100% the best ice cream in the area, also many flavors. There are often (not too long) queues.

Friendly staff and the ice cream is very tasty. But the portions in containers are really disappointing. You pay more than three euros for two scoops, and yet some ice is simply scraped off the top. You don't get two scoops, but at most one and a half. The difference in layers is clearly visible. Really misleading and a waste of money.
