Nice atmosphere, nice service, and delicious food...

Cramped seating, one pizza burned, the other completely bland and watery. They forgot to bring a bottle of water twice. One of our coats was on the floor in the cloakroom and was reported as a pawn.

A very good and cozy restaurant, the lunch was delicious and plentiful. We received excellent and very hospitable service from Owen and a lovely lady. In short, we'll definitely be back.

My friends and I went there after a world cup race and they didn't want to seat us because of our team uniform.

We arrived quite early, but all the tables were quickly taken. That's generally a good sign, and it proved to be true. The service was excellent (quickly to our table, but not pushy with drinks), the food was good quality, and there was a healthy buzz around us.

Well, it reminded me of Happy Italy, but it's not quite right! Plates were cleared away before everyone had finished their meal, as if a timer was ticking. The appetizer came straight from the cold refrigerator, which wasn't good. The service could definitely be better; perhaps a course would be in order.

Friendly staff. The dishes are varied, though not all are equally delicious. Much better than the big chains, though. It's fun for kids to make their own pizza. Perfect if you want to enjoy a bit more "better" Italian food with the kids.

A wonderful experience. Your coat is neatly handled. The layout is nice and cozy. You can look outside, either at the cozy bar or the pizza oven where it's busy baking. The restrooms are beautifully designed, with a great atmosphere. Everything looked and felt good. The staff is formal, professional, and very helpful. The dishes were delicious and well-rounded. My salad could have used a little less sauce, but the food looked as good as it tasted. Made with care and attention, and you can taste and see it. The ginger tea was also perfect. In short, we had a great time and would love to come back again.

Well... With the exception of one woman, the service wasn't good. We had to signal for someone every time we ran out of drinks, and everything took a very long time. But this review is mainly about the food. The chef who makes the pizzas really needs to take a course, in my opinion. The pizza was tasteless, but even more annoying, it wasn't baked properly at all. The middle was still 100% dough and not crispy at all, so it was undercooked. There was also a huge puddle of water on the pizza. The dessert was good, though.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a pleasant experience at this restaurant. The hostess wasn't very welcoming; when we were hungry and asked for the menu, she responded bluntly, "Can I order our drinks first, or are you in a hurry?" It felt rather awkward. Furthermore, we were the only ones seated in a separate area where no one paid us any attention. We even had to walk to the bar ourselves to ask someone if we could order something to drink. That's not how it should be, of course. Also strange: the restaurant was empty, yet five of us were seated at a small round table that couldn't even fit our food. The food itself wasn't particularly special either – the flavors were bland and lacked any depth. All in all, we didn't find it a pleasant experience and wouldn't rush back.

This review is really only about the ordering experience. Although they package the food well and deliver some ingredients separately so you can add them fresh to your pizza or pasta, it turned out to be a mediocre experience because almost everything was a bit cold. It happens, of course, especially when delivery is busy. What we were most disappointed with, however, was the cheesecake. Again, we understand that it probably won't look as good on delivery as it does on your plate in the restaurant, but the fact that they dare to charge €9.50 for 3 pieces of fruit and 3 pieces of cheesecake slightly larger than a dice is truly ridiculous. As can be seen in the photos, the difference between expectations and reality is significant.

We had a wonderful evening with incredibly friendly staff and delicious food. Very child-friendly; making our own pizza was a huge hit with our kids! It's really great that the staff takes the time to help. The special of the day, the salmon with spinach tagliatelle, was delicious. Generous portions too. The "Profiteroles" dessert was a bit disappointing; there was practically no filling in the profiteroles. The Irish coffee and other desserts, on the other hand, were very tasty. Recommended to book in advance!

Had dinner at Ambacht yesterday. Unfortunately, it was a bad experience. The bruschetta was burnt and black. After reporting this, the hostess came. She was incredibly rude and didn't do anything to fix it. The pizza was also black and soggy in the middle. Too bad, I won't be going back.

Delicious Italian food and a cozy atmosphere

Delicious food for a good price. Service was good. The table we were at was quite small, though, and not very convenient when the main course is served. Otherwise, definitely recommended if you love Italian food.

Was asked to remove cap, this is a first for me for any restaurant in any country I've visited. Not very hospitable.

Delicious pizzas and friendly staff. I found the pasta dish a bit simple, but it was delicious! The desserts were delicious. We love coming here!

Had a really nice lunch. The terrace is nice and big with different chairs and benches, I really like that. The staff is cheerful and enthusiastic! I got a nice text on my plate with the dessert for my birthday!!! That was very surprising. 1 small thing is that you are sitting on the road with all that traffic... But because of the glass that demarcates the terrace, the noise is not so noticeable.

Last Wednesday we had dinner at Il Mercato in Ambacht. Unfortunately, the experience was mixed. When we arrived, we were neatly assigned a table, but then the service took a long time. It was only after about 10 minutes that we asked if we could have a drink. The drinks were then served without matching glasses, except for the spa blue and red — we had to ask for these again. We also had to ask for the menu ourselves. Not very hospitable. The portion size of the food disappointed us. The pasta was very small and with the tiramisu (of which I did add a photo) we got a very meager portion, especially considering the price of €10. It could really be a bit more generous for that amount. The reason I give three stars is because the taste of the food itself was fine. But in our opinion the price-quality ratio was not in balance, and the service unfortunately left much to be desired. Hopefully something can be done with this feedback.

What a nice Italian restaurant this is!! Have eaten there several times and every time it is cozy and the food delicious! Highly recommended!

De wet van Murphy. Alles wat fout kan gaan, ging fout. Niets ten nadele van de vriendelijke bediening, maar dit verjaardags diner was een blamage! Vissoep was lauw, verkeerde pizza's geserveerd (gevraagd zonder ui met knoflook, werd met ui en zonder knoflook), pizza met rucola tot 2 x toe gevraagd werd zonder rucola gebracht, patat 3x gebakken met restant aangebrande calamaris in de schaal werd geserveerd, pasta was lauw, cappucino was lauw en de bestelde cognac werd niet geserveerd, maar wél in rekening gebracht. Kortom: voor ons de eerste, maar tevens de laatste keer!!!

Sat on the terrace on Thursday 12 June in the evening.. the quality of the pizzas has gone down a lot compared to a year ago.. I also find the desserts on the expensive side.. the staff is friendly but sometimes a bit inexperienced.. all in all the experience was fine but I don't think the quality is much better than Happy Italy anymore.. there is also no panna cotta 'an Italian dessert' which you just expect to be on the menu for 5-6€.. no idea why it isn't there.. it's a margin grabber..

Food was cold, first 1 drink for 1 person, after many minutes the rest got drinks, to a question the answer was: I will ask, still have to get an answer. Staff does not know the numbering of the tables, so they walk around like fools with plates. In short, many points for improvement!!!!

Met vol verwachting naar dit Italiaanse restaurant gegaan, maar helaas waren alleen de namen van de gerechten Italiaans. De ravioli kwam rechtstreeks uit de supermarkt en het sausje was korrelig en smaakloos. Het Italiaanse ijs kwam rechtstreeks uit bakken van de Sligro. De vitello tonato ging nog wel, maar was te klein voor die prijs. Bij een echte Italiaan wordt er brood met olijfolie op tafel gezet en krijg he een Limoncello van het huis. Hier niets van dit alles, maar jonge onervaren meisjes die je aan moet sporen om je te komen bedienen. Nooit meer hierheen.

Unfortunately the food is very disappointing. The bruschetta very simple with ice cold halved tomatoes. (after explaining this it was taken away and not charged) The risotto was not cooked, pasta with salmon and gorgonzola .... no gorgonzola tasted or seen, pasta with tenderloin pieces (cooked gray) with truffle sauce ... no truffle tasted and the parmesan cheese was nowhere to be found. In short very mediocre ... this has nothing to do with Italian cuisine. I wish them much success .... but we will wait for a next visit!

At 7pm we had reserved a table. After a long wait it turned out that something had gone wrong with the order, also with other guests. Apologies were made and the order was noted again. Again it took an incredibly long time before our starter arrived. It would have been nice if we had gotten something else after that long wait, even if it was just a baguette or something, by then we had been waiting for 1.5 hours... The bruschetta was unfortunately burnt on the bottom. Then we only got the main course after 9pm, a pizza that was fine, but the pastas were so small that we thought it was a starter. We reported this, asked for something extra, but nothing was done about it. As compensation we got the first drink on the house and the coffee afterwards, but we didn't take those because of course it was already way too late in the evening. The service absolutely did their best (the stars are only given for the service) they genuinely found it very annoying, also shared our opinion about the small pastas, but it was clear that they were not given more space to solve it all to our satisfaction. In the end we got 2 cannolis to take home, for 3 people….

Op 26 april 2025 genoten we van een gezellige maaltijd bij Il Mercato. We begonnen met gebakken inktvis en bruschetta met tomaat, beide lekker en goed gekruid. Als hoofdgerecht kozen we de Caesar salade met kip, die goed gebalanceerd was met verse ingrediënten en een romige dressing. Als afsluiting dronken we koffie en muntthee, perfect om de maaltijd af te ronden. De sfeer was aangenaam, vooral met het gezellige Koningsdaggevoel, en het personeel was vriendelijk. Een fijne plek voor een ontspannen diner, zeker als je van Italiaanse gerechten houdt. We komen zeker terug!

We are disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food. The men had a meat dish. They received a small bowl of pasta. We thought that a bowl was missing, but it was explained to us that this was two portions. Ridiculous for a dish of €27.50!! Requested an additional portion, which was returned to the bill for €6 extra. And only came when my husband had almost finished his meat and was now cold. Daughter wanted fries with her meat dish. She could choose between pasta and fries. But they could also opt for fries with truffle sauce and parmesan for an additional charge. Whoops, €6.50 on top. My pizza was quite tasty, nothing special, but swimming in olive oil. And my husband's profiteroles (profiteroles) turned out to be empty when cut! I really didn't think it was worth a bill of €207 for 4 adults and a children's menu. The round table was very cozy, but not comfortable with one leg between your legs and much too close together. We had a pleasant evening together, but we find the case a letdown. Shame!

We had two pizzas and a pasta dish tonight. The pasta was so small a baby could have eaten it. When we called, all we were told was that these were normal portions. It's ridiculous to pay so much for such a small portion. I don't think we'll be ordering takeout from here again. Even after calling, they confirmed that these are normal portions and that we've never had any complaints about them. I think a normal person would grab a bag of chips in the evening to satisfy their hunger. Having someone from the office respond by saying that these are normal portions is ridiculous. We're done with it for now unless we get proper feedback.

The evening started with half the tray falling onto the back of my mother's sweater. Starter was okay, not much can go wrong with bruschetta. Pasta was bland for all of us. Packing salt three times should not be necessary. Desserts: of the 6 desserts, three did not arrive until fifteen minutes later. And actually they weren't great either. 1 of the mille foglie turned out to be empty instead of filled with white chocolate. On the table were two bottles of water, still and sparkling. 1 was spent, at 6.50, afterwards they were both on the bill. 13 euros for 2 bottles of water. Once home, I called and the solution was that 6.50 could be collected tomorrow or would be deducted from the next visit. As far as I'm concerned, they push that 6.50 into the tip jar, because it wasn't due to the friendliness of the service. If you ask me, this restaurant is highly overrated.

The six of us had dinner here tonight, it started off rather clumsily, the waitress dropped the tray with drinks over my mother-in-law, her back completely wet, bags completely wet and then as "compensation" you get a dessert for free! We should have made more of a fuss then! That pole standing there with the chairs right next to it is simply not convenient! They constantly walk past your chair, very annoying! The food is bland, so a lot of salt was sprinkled on it. We didn't all order dessert at the same time, that was another thing, 17 minutes later the rest were served dessert when the rest was ready because yes, they were ice cream balls and they were going to melt of course... well and then the receipt... we lost a lot of money for mediocre service and also had to pay for an extra water bottle, but we only saw that at home, so we called and we can come and get the money! So here we are, we won't be going there anymore....

Food was very good and, importantly, the staff was super friendly! Price-quality is perfect, I cannot agree with some of the negative reviews at all! It's not the first time we've been there, but it certainly won't be the last time either. Highly recommended!

Strange place, but really worth going to

Newly discovered. Nice restaurant with a good menu. We had the menu with really something for everyone. Also fun for the children: they can make their own pizza.

You can certainly enjoy a nice meal. Our choice went to the Carpaccio, Lasagna and Risotto, and it tasted delicious. We will definitely come back again.

Een fijne en gastvrije ontvangst. Een mooi en gezellig restaurant. Er staan veel verschillende gerechten op de menukaart, dus keus genoeg. In het restaurant staat een pizzabakker aan de oven verse pizza te bakken. De bediening is erg behulpzaam en attent. Het restaurant ligt op een industrieterrein nabij het water. We hebben genoten van het lekkere eten en zijn voldaan en met een fijn gevoel vertrokken. Aanrader.

Now understand that there were multiple sessions, such chairs do not invite you to sit longer! The food was fine but not special, you could choose from starter, main course and dessert. Please also pass on everything immediately, imagine having to go back to the table again, right? Service was friendly, but all in all I didn't think it was a great success, I got the idea of ​​a glorified "food barn", as the waiting staff also stood on our shoes for both me and my wife, while we neatly placed them under the table. had! It was just very mediocre. The restaurant is nicely decorated, but we had a bad spot against the emergency doors. The push handles of the doors hang over the table, which irritated me. We sat down at 6:30 PM, had some incredibly simple bruschetta at 6:40 PM and the main course was served at 6:50 PM. The pizza was good and delicious! The truffle pasta with tenderloin tips was bland, tasteless and watery. Pasta with shrimps was ok, but nothing more. The pre-ordered bottle of wine could have made up for the whole thing a bit, but unfortunately the bottle only reached our table after the main course... The disappointment about the whole thing was visible on our faces, so when the question came: "May we offer you some limoncello?", we thought this was on the house. Too bad, it was of course just on the bill. Well, we finally left the table at 7:30 PM after a disappointing hour of eating. Sit at Kita's bar for a cocktail. It was great! Been here for the 1st time and thought it was GREAT. Delicious lunch, very friendly staff and attractively decorated. What I really like is that the acoustics are good, so you are not bothered by the noise of other guests at all. If I have to mention a negative point, it would be the hard wooden chairs. That is better in the other part with the round seats.

Went here for dinner last week on the recommendation of a friend. Warm welcome upon arrival, coat is neatly accepted and hung up by number. Focaccia with Parma ham taken in advance, focaccia was on the dry side and because there is no oil or butter, etc., it is quite a job to remove it. Ordered pizza carpaccio on the advice of the same friend, which was also a bit disappointing. I had the idea that it was not carpaccio, the meat was quite stiff, way too much arugula lettuce on it. Shame!! When clearing the table, we were asked if the pizza was packed (of 2 plates there was 1 complete pizza left) and could we take home? Indicated that the pizza was disappointing and therefore will not be taken home. The waitress's response was “oh that's a shame”… maybe ask what wasn't tasty? I also personally find the layout a bit cramped, it is quite close to your neighbors and it is also a bit noisy inside. Unfortunately not worth a second visit for me.

After having eaten gluten-free pizza here before (due to celiac disease), this turned out to be no longer possible, which is a shame if you were so looking forward to it, so my husband ordered risotto, tasty but not very special. The pizza I ordered was tough and barely cutable. Dessert 80% not possible with a gluten-free diet (gluten-free ice cream balls), there was hardly any choice, strawberry and lemon 🤢 ice cream, so we left it out. After a previous, very good experience, this is the last time we have been here. It was also very noisy and a lot of assembly line work, little atmosphere, impersonal and addressed twice in a language other than Dutch (and no, not in Italian).

Didn't notice much. Not a long wait for our food or anything. All in all a great evening and worth repeating.

Actually my only negative is that we were approached unannounced in English by one of the waiters. It's great that people work from another country, but make this known in advance and don't start speaking English out of nowhere.

Great food! In my opinion, especially pasta and pizza as specialties to try. As for the fish and meat dishes..., I know from reliable sources, it is also very good quality. I will definitely come back here again. This was the second time here with a group of 6. Reservations in advance are recommended ;) Super nice and good service and a real welcome feeling both before, during and after the meal. Lives up to its Italian name!

Celebrated my daughter's birthday here on June 15. Her father arrived a little later and was not allowed in. Because he didn't want to ruin our daughter's birthday, he left quietly. Due to illness he wears a hat (which he also indicated), for this reason he was refused entry. A few days later I had a face-to-face discussion about this and was supposed to receive an email. Not happened yet. Rarely have I experienced something so scandalous. This day was so important to us. EDIT: I now read that we are not the only ones. Someone who witnessed a customer with burns being denied entry but the next guests being seated. Speechless..

Op 15 juni de verjaardag van mijn dochter hier gevierd. Haar vader kwam iets later en werd niet binnen gelaten. Omdat hij niet de verjaardag van onze dochter wilde verpesten is hij maar stilletjes weg gegaan. Wegens ziekte draagt hij een mutsje (wat hij tevens heeft aangegeven), om deze reden is hem de toegang geweigerd. Ik ben hier een aantal dagen later face too face over in gesprek gegaan en zou gemaild worden. Tot op heden niet gebeurd. Zelden zoiets schandalig meegemaakt. Juist deze dag was zó belangrijk voor ons. EDIT: Ik lees nu dat wij niet de enige zijn. Iemand die er getuige van was dat een klant met brandwonden de toegang werd geweigerd maar de volgende gasten een tafel kregen toegewezen. Sprakeloos..

Bij aankomst een toffe plek toegewezen gekregen in een ronde bank. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Vanuit die plek konden we goed zien hoe de pizza’s gemaakt werden. Lekker gegeten: bruschetta, pizza quoattro formaggi en tiramisu. De alcoholvrije cocktail was ook heerlijk!

Sfeer was aangenaam, op gegeven moment had een Italiaans vakantie gevoel ;) wij hebben op het teras gegeten, Italiaans sfeer, kleuren music, de jongeman die ons heeft geholpen was ook een Italaano vero 😀 eten is goed, smaakvol, gevarieerd, echt italianse keuken, personeel toppers! !Music mag iets zachter, meer groen op teras mag ook ;)

Niet voor herhaling vatbaar, ravioli dreef in het afgietvocht, het leek wel soep, lege glazen en borden werden niet afgeruimd waardoor nieuwe drankjes en gerechten niet op de tafel gezet konden worden. Muziek stond hard en met speaker boven tafel kon je elkaar slecht verstaan. Prijs/kwaliteitverhouding slecht. Locatie op bedrijventerrein ongezellig.

Extremely unfriendly staff. The restaurant was empty today June 30, 2024 and we wanted to sit inside. We were told by the waitress that we don't really look good sitting inside, referring to the many tattoos we have. If you're not well enough to sit inside, don't sit outside.
