Title: Disappointing experience at Intenzo Hengelo Our visit to Intenzo restaurant in Hengelo was unfortunately very disappointing. After a detailed explanation of the menu, we politely requested a repeat of the pasta sauces, as some of them were listed in Italian. The assistant manager reacted noticeably irritated to this simple request. When we discussed this among ourselves, she came to our table and indicated she didn't want to appear irritated, but then accused us of antisocial behavior. After expressing our dissatisfaction with this treatment and the quality of the service, we were unceremoniously asked to leave the restaurant. We are shocked by this escalation; as customers, we have never been treated this way. It is astonishing that a request for a repeat of an explanation can lead to removal from a restaurant. Fortunately, we received a warm welcome at Bistro Kees and enjoyed excellent service and a delicious meal.

We enjoyed a delicious 4-course surprise menu here! The food was delicious, and the service was also excellent! They really take their time with you, so you shouldn't go there if you're just looking for a quick dinner.

Small portions, you will remain hungry. It is also very expensive (given the low quality). Nice interior, but ultimately who cares if the food is shit.

With a €50 gift voucher, two people thoroughly enjoyed their lunch in Intenzo's beautiful (Mediterranean) garden. The beautiful summer weather in mid-August added to a southern holiday feeling. The welcome and service were very pleasant and welcoming. Service was prompt but not rushed, and we sat comfortably under the trees for almost an hour and a half. Delicious wine, tasty sandwiches, and to finish, a delicious yogurt sundae with banana and iced coffee. Despite the wasp season, we didn't have any problems with them on the terrace. They also make a concerted effort to lure them away from the tables. In short, a highly recommended place to enjoy a relaxing and enjoyable meal!

Surprise menu was a positive surprise

The food and service are excellent, but there are far too many people in the restaurant, which means you can hardly hear each other and it gets hot quickly.

Recently had a delicious meal at Het mooie Intenzo! Beautiful ambiance. Upon entering we were warmly welcomed by the very friendly staff. Very good menu with a delicious choice. Starters…great! Main course…pfff how delicious! Unfortunately the dessert is no longer possible but a delicious cappuccino was just fine! One of the few really good Italian restaurants!! Hopefully see you soon!!!!

We don't go out to dinner much, decided to treat ourselves, but the restaurant didn't match my expectations. We decided on a 4 course surprise menu, but it didn't feeling like a "chef's recommendation", more like the easy option for them. The food was nice, although the amuse contained pistache eventhough I requested no nuts due to a mild allergy. The starter came straight out of the fridge and the dessert wasn't inspiring. It tasted nice but for this price I expected a lot more. I was more dissapointed by the attentiveness of the staff. We ordered a drink while browsing the menu, but throughout the whole dinner nobody checked if we wanted an other drink, eventhough my partner said up front he would like to decide on a wine with the main course. Even with a soda we just got a new bottle, no new glass, with ice or a new lemon. The courses were served in quick succession (and the waiter dissappeared before we could ask for a drink) and within 90 minutes we were outside the door again. The interior looks nice but it is way too crowded. They do a pasta from a cheese wheel that is prepared and served at the table. The table behind us ordered it, so the staff was in the walkway with a cart serving this, but this was so close to where my partner was sitting that she was basically standing on top of him and almost hit him in the head a few times. It wasn't busy, for a Thursday evening they were 50% full, but we felt like there was no time to attent to our table. Some tables were waited on way more regularly, with wine served and checks if everything was satisfactory. We just got our dishes and that was it. I have sympathy for the hospitality industry, it is hard work and staff is hard to find. Maybe it was a one off because they were short staffed or another reason. But with the restaurant not being full, and some things (like the menu and cheese-wheel situation) being more permanent problems, we didn't have the experience that matches the price-tag.

To be honest, I don't understand what people find so special about this place. The food was okay, but nothing special. For that price, you expect so much more! You have to order all the side dishes. The vegetables were overcooked, and the fries were plain French fries. At a place like this, you expect delicious, freshly cut fries. Besides, we had to wait so incredibly long every time. The staff just didn't seem to want to see us. The terrace is very atmospheric, and the service is friendly, but I definitely won't be back.

Enjoying a lovely outdoor meal, the atmosphere is great, and the team is incredibly well-trained. Regarding the menu: the pheasant with pork belly was more than excellent, as was the ice cream dessert (how could it be otherwise). We were slightly less satisfied with the main course: bavette. It was a bit too "tart," bland, and very sparsely served with extras.

The food was delicious and flavorful, the hospitality was excellent, the service attentive, and the wine was delicious. And, especially important to us, the menu was tailored to your needs. This means absolutely gluten-free and vegetarian. The portions were generous, even too much for some! We were there for lunch at a less common time, but despite this, we felt very welcome and the service was excellent.

The food was varied, usually nicely seasoned, but quantities were rather meager for 5 courses and twice a dish had already cooled down when served. I also found the quality of the meat below par for this price. Dessert was delicious. Service was very good and the wines excellent.

Really delicious food. It was all really surprisingly delicious. I have often eaten bruschetta, but this was the best ever. Salmon was also delicious. Only positive. Staff was also very nice and professional. We will definitely come again!

I wasn’t expecting to find an Italian restaurant of such quality outside of cities like London or Rome. Just a quiet business dinner with colleagues on a trip. The food was just fantastic. Authentic and delicious. The service was friendly and efficient, very professional. Great wine list too. Not cheap but totally worth it. Try the spaghetti parmigiana. So so good. You won’t regret it.

Ate ice cream inside. It was disappointing, for the price, when compared to just buying the ice cream from the counter. The portion and presentation was underwhelming, and the selection was limited. The price is very high, a family of 5 + baby; we felt ordering a drink would make the total ridiculous. The ice-cream is high quality; we visit regularly for the counter service.

A nice restaurant in Hengelo and very tasty food! The antipasti starter in particular is highly recommended, but I would also definitely recommend the tortelone tartufo, funghi and tallegio. We were here on Valentine's Day and although the restaurant was very nicely decorated for the occasion, I think it would be even more fun to go here on another day, when it is a little less busy with all the couples close together.

Back at Intenzo after a long period, and had a delicious meal a few weeks ago! Last Friday the 14th we both had a Valentine's dinner and a bottle of wine for €180! I made a reservation and to my regret the food had to be returned hot, but the food was not! And Duck Breast was tough. The neighbor next to us had ordered pasta, which was also not warm. Nice place, good ulcer, tasty food, but preferably really hot!

The ceiling is decorated with lights and stars, which together with the colors gives a wonderfully cozy and festive vibe. Comfort has also been taken into account: the tables offer a surprising amount of legroom, even for taller people like us, and the chairs are so comfortable that you can easily spend hours there. Despite the crowds, it never felt noisy; the acoustics are perfect, allowing you to have 1-on-1 conversations effortlessly. Culinary surprises from start to finish We opted for the 4-course surprise menu, and from the first moment we felt spoiled. While we waited for our first dish, we were spoiled with a glass of champagne and a small culinary taste. One bite – that's all it was – but oh, what an explosion of flavors! It was just enough to raise our expectations sky high. The starter did not disappoint: raw tuna with grilled sides, accompanied by a mix of sauces that were simply phenomenal. I have eaten in Michelin star restaurants but this tuna surpassed them all. Even my wife, who normally doesn't like raw tuna, was hooked. We asked if we could upgrade our 4-course menu to 5 courses – and luckily that was no problem! The second dish, four-cheese gnocchi, was pure nostalgia with a gastronomic twist. Imagine your mother's cooking skills, but at a level you didn't even know existed. The gnocchi melted in your tongue and the flavors of the four cheeses were perfectly balanced. This dish undoubtedly deserves a Nobel Prize for comfort food. The third dish, a ravioli, was simple but perfectly executed. The smell alone made our mouths water, and the taste certainly did not disappoint. Even after the last bite I was still craving more. Main course and dessert: a worthy ending The main course continued the streak of perfection. My wife got sea bass with a crispy topping – a delicious combination of soft fish and a nice crunch. I got a tender piece of meat that you could cut with the bluntest knife on earth. The sauces and gravy made it complete. This dish filled us up perfectly without leaving us overwhelmed. And then dessert: an introduction to the 'Dubai tiramisu'. Soft, creamy, and with a complex blend of flavors that simply made the tastiest tiramisu ever. It was the perfect end to an evening full of culinary highlights. Service with a smile The staff made the experience complete. Friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. You really felt welcome and cared for, as if you were spending an evening with good friends who happen to be incredibly good cooks.
