We had a delicious meal. There is a wide selection. Fine wine. The atmosphere is also very pleasant, with plenty of space and nice tables and chairs.

My husband had made a reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we arrived at the agreed time, we had to wait standing for almost 10 minutes until a table became available. They had promised to make it a festive occasion, but we didn't notice any of that. The food and drinks were placed on the table without a word. The exception to this is Remco; despite the busyness, he is always friendly and attentive. Otherwise, it was unfortunately a disappointing experience. My husband tried to bring this up before we received the food, but there was no response.

An Exceptional Dining Experience – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We visited Irodion in Zaandam on July 25, 2026, while spending a weekend in the Netherlands celebrating my wife. We had no idea where to eat, so we asked a local for a recommendation — and she sent us to Irodion. What a great recommendation! We were a group of seven and were warmly welcomed and quickly seated. Our waitress, Melisa, was professional, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening. But the person who truly surprised me was Iurkus. I wanted something a little more spicy with my meal, and he explained that they didn't have many spicy options. Then he simply said that, if I wasn't in a hurry, he would go home and bring me some spices from his own kitchen. And he actually did it! That small, incredibly thoughtful gesture is something I won't forget. Living in Germany, I don't often experience this level of genuine hospitality. The last time a waiter surprised me like this was years ago in Chicago, when a waiter at Ruth's Chris Steak House went across the street to buy pickles for one of my guests. Iurkus and Melisa — thank you for making our evening special! Great food, wonderful service, and above all, genuine hospitality. We came because a local recommended Irodion, and we left with a great memory. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Service was good, we sat outside so that was nice. The food was OK. Kind of on par with the average Greek restaurant. The fries weren't very good. Overall a fine experience, but nothing special.

Best Giek in all of Zaanstad. I've only had a bad meal here once. The service is friendly and polite. It is very well-maintained. I can eat here anytime!

No complaints about the food. That is fine. However, the mayonnaise and garlic sauce that were also ordered are not served with the food. I had to walk to the bar myself to ask for them. The same applies to a beer that was ordered. I would like the sauce we ordered served immediately with the food, and the beer with it as well, and not when the food is cold. Of course, that can happen once, but last time it went exactly the same way. It is a real shame because the food is good and the atmosphere is too, but this still makes for an unpleasant experience.

I dined at this restaurant today, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The food served was not what I had ordered, causing things to go wrong right from the start. Additionally, I did not like the taste of the food, and the quality did not meet my expectations. Things also went wrong when settling the bill. I received an incorrect bill listing a beer, even though I do not drink beer and had not ordered one. Furthermore, I had to pay for a cola that I believe was for someone else. It is very annoying when you not only receive the wrong order but then also get an incorrect bill. Due to the errors regarding both the order and the bill, and the disappointing quality of the food, my visit was very disappointing. Based on this experience, I am unfortunately unable to recommend this restaurant.

Service is quite good, is a quite a crowded restaurant, personally I think that the food could be better presented on the plate, with a little more care and time. This would really uplift the dish.

I have been a chef for 25 years, I have traveled all over Italy, much of Europe for work and not, today I can say that I have eaten very good meat, but I want to focus on the cooking of the meat from chicken to beef and lamb, cooking to my personal opinion and taste perfect, beautiful experience to repeat, if you are in the Zaandam area I highly recommend it top, in few places I have eaten perfectly cooked meat and exquisite flavor, thanks also to the very kind and helpful dining room staff, thanks irodion for this experience

Unfortunately, a bad experience. The Hermes platter includes a schnitzel; it was raw, which can happen. It is a shame, though, that the new schnitzel is fried through and through, as if to say, "Now you know for sure." The salad bar is also unfortunately nothing to write home about anymore. A pity, because normally it's a great place.

We came to have dinner at Irodion with my mom on April 4th.☺️ The start was promising — we were greeted and seated. That’s where the good part ended.😅 We ordered fries and decided to try some of the “free salads” the place is apparently known for. And then the show began. A waiter approached us and, without any hesitation and loudly enough announced: “These salads are only for main dishes. You can’t order fries for €4 and eat free salads.” Of course, the highlight of the evening was when he demonstratively took back a couple of arugula leaves and three tomatoes😁 I went back to the table feeling like I had just been publicly scolded at school. What makes it even more ironic is that we actually did order several additional dishes afterward, just as we originally planned. But by that point, when we were finally “allowed” to take the salads, our pride didn’t really let us go back for them. Dear customers: if you enjoy being slightly humiliated for your own money — this is definitely the place for you.✊🏼 If you expect basic respect — you might want to look elsewhere Dear staff: maybe try explaining your rules a bit more quietly and respectfully, instead of putting on a performance in the middle of the restaurant. Service is not just about food — it’s about attitude. Comedy 😂❤️ no offense.

We made a reservation for two people on Saturday evening. When we arrived at the reserved time, we had to wait a bit. Two other ladies who had reservations arrived after us. Then another group of four arrived. They were seated immediately. Then a group of five arrived. They were also seated after a few minutes. And we had to wait. Just like the ladies... we left after a 20-minute wait and had a delicious meal at the Greek restaurant 200 meters away.

The ambiance is okay...the staff is also okay, but there's room for improvement. The food isn't worth the price, as some of it was only lukewarm. Perhaps it was too bland for German tastes. The suzuki and souvlaki were tasty and hot...the gyros was unfortunately a bit bland (a matter of taste). The "mushroom sauce" tasted like nothing...(from a packet?!) The fries on both plates were lukewarm. When we asked if we enjoyed our meal...and informed us that some of the food was lukewarm...the gentleman with long black hair...unfortunately didn't react. We can't confirm the positive reviews.

Overall, everything in the restaurant was fine. I'd been here before, and tap water was free, as is usually the case everywhere. This time I asked for tap water, but instead of a glass, the waitress immediately brought a whole carafe without asking what I wanted. At the end of the evening, I discovered this water was on the bill for €2. I found that a bit disappointing, especially since we were a large group and spent a considerable amount. Although the food was delicious and the atmosphere pleasant, this detail still left a negative impression. It's a shame, because otherwise the experience was positive.

We went here on Saturday, August 16, 2025, having booked online in advance. We were immediately greeted with a glass of ouzo. The food was more than excellent, though a bit salty. The only downside was that we waited an hour for our main course. While the restaurant was packed, an hour for two main courses is a bit long. The service was very friendly and helpful.

The food is great. It took a long time to get a table despite having a reservation. It was very noisy inside. But the staff was super friendly.

We often order food for delivery, which is, of course, very delicious. But we decided to go back again. The food was always delicious, of course, but even more attention was paid to the presentation of the food on the plate, making it truly a feast for the eyes and, of course, the stomach.

The food was extremely mediocre and way overpriced. The moussaka was completely indistinguishable; it was one big, slimy mess. To top it all off, they also charged extra for a tiny dollop of mayo with fries and 75 cents for a plastic container. Avoid this place!

We chose the Greek menu for 5, and it was well-stocked. Except for one type of meat, everything was deliciously seasoned and tender. Plenty of it, and there were plenty of side dishes. Would we go back? Absolutely.

Today we ate here for the second time and unfortunately it was disappointing. Unfriendly staff and the chicken fillet was tough and dry, the lamb chop raw and the suzuki also raw. We reported this and had a second suzuki that was also raw. We will not eat here again. It is too busy, which makes the kitchen rush. The lamb stew was tasteless and did not seem to be cooked all the way through.

Worth the price! The portions were huge and the food delicious and good quality. Amazing praline dessert 😍

one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We were seated in a room not far from the toilet area and the smell was absolutely revolting . Sadly, the food was just as awful. The food tasted like it had been reheated for days, the meat had the texture of rubbery plastic cheap quality. Nothing was fresh, nothing had flavor. It was like eating a microwaved meal from the bargain bin. Avoid this place at all costs. Never again.

Ordered food at 5 p.m., the food would arrive around 6:15 p.m. Called at a quarter to 7, food is on its way. 5 past 7 finally my food. Everything was cold, not lukewarm but just cold. Their answer was that I could warm it up anyway. What lousy service

After waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes the delivery guy finally arrived with our order. This is of course way too late since 60 minutes was promised. The starter was really sad. I paid 13 euros for a pitiful portion of 5 shrimps that were completely fried to elastic. It was burnt and sorry, but the dish was disgusting. The main course, the gyros with the name of the restaurant was really not tasty. A container with meat that had apparently been in the oven for too long and the taste was monotonous. Really not worth 22 euros. Desert, the Praline, was I think defrosted and therefore a frozen ready-made desert. It was also not tasty. I will never order anything here again.

Als het druk is, is het nogal lawaaierig, verder alles prima. Saladebar lekker, eten was goed, bediening attent en vriendelijk.

Sauce containers opened. Can happen. But all the food was just cold. Never experienced anything like this before. The food was also in plastic containers. Nice to serve for cold food but not to keep food warm. Neatly sent an app. Unfortunately no response, sorry.

The food is cold, cold meat is not edible. We also thought the chicken was spoiled. Our taste is good 9 times out of 10, this is really not possible If you eat a meat dish, it should not be on a large shelf. But on a warming plate. Also the plate was cold. The young lady serving was quite rude. So never again Irodion for us. Waste of money. Keep warm plates, got rid of them, stupid.

We had a delicious meal here. We made a reservation in advance, but upon arrival the restaurant was full, so we had to wait 5 minutes before we got a table. (We sat here on a Saturday evening). That was quickly made up for by the fantastic service. All servers were very friendly and patient. Even if a mistake was made, an apology was immediately offered. They forgot to serve our drinks for a moment. After all, it was busy so that can happen. The starter and main course were super tasty. And the meat was very tender. In my opinion, this place is highly recommended.

Had a nice meal at Irodion, I was already here I haven't been there for a long time, so I really liked the current look. The food was fast and delicious. But the meat was deliciously prepared and it was a pleasant evening. Two small points of attention, extra costs for Mayo and/or ketchup are a bit high and the portion of fries could have been a bit larger in my opinion. But otherwise have a nice evening.

Ordered home delivery. 40 euros for a little meat for 2 people. (yummy) 2 tbsp tzaziki and 2 tbsp red rice. I was shocked at how little rice you get for that amount! That was once different...

It took more than 3 hours for the order to be delivered. Always been a big fan of this Greek, unfortunately this is simply unacceptable and I will not order here again anytime soon.

I can't say anything other than that I had a good meal. the service is friendly and fast, the restaurant was completely full.

Wij kwamen aan, dachten heerlijk te kunnen eten, heeft de eigenaar een privé feestje. Veel te harde muziek, kon elkaar niet verstaan, Griekse verjaardagsmuziek, ze gingen dansen en wij moesten het maar aanhoren. Gelukkig werd er veel geklaagd. Wilde bijna weg gaan!!! Dit is heel raar dat de klanten hier van mee moeten genieten! Over het eten klaag ik niet. Dat was prima en de bediening ook!

I thought I would quickly have a Greek snack, you know, just too dry, but easy to stow away with lots of tzatziki. The opposite was true, the meat was super soft, tender and juicy. We had a mixed dish (no. 66) for 2 people. It came with fries and salad, but I almost didn't touch it, there was so much meat. Service was friendly and it seemed to me like the whole family worked there. The dog was also "just" welcome, where do you still find that!?! The restaurant was packed and for good reason. Highly recommended!!

Both the starter (mezzes) and main course (fish dish) were fried. That was not in the description of the menu, so it was a disappointment. I got the idea that they throw everything in the fryer, so that they can offer 'a lot for little'. Shame. I won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Tonight we ordered Greek from Irodion in Zaandam. Well, we knew that... the prawns were spoiled, rotting inside and giving off a sickening smell. Because the prawns were also among the rest of the order, we were unable to eat anything. An expensive order of €150, completely thrown away. Called the restaurant, but they literally said: "Sorry, better luck next time". Well, of course there won't be that next time.
