Japans restaurant Nikko in Wijk 01

After having had a very good meal here previously, we decided to do so again. Unfortunately, it was a huge letdown – we had to wait nearly an hour for our first round, which was served incomplete. During the second round, I found a metal strand in the dish. Consequently, we decided to leave. Although the restaurant itself indicated that we did not have to pay, this does not change the fact that the way things are run really needs to improve. It is a shame, because the food itself is actually very tasty. I hope this will eventually improve.

The food that arrived was fair to good. The service was generally good, but in every round there was always something. Either something was missing or swapped for something else. I had ordered green tea ice cream, but received pistachio ice cream. It turned out they were out of green tea ice cream. I would prefer you to say so, then I could make another choice. Now I feel cheated. The staff was generally friendly.

It was very tasty. The sauces on the dishes were delicious. Still, I wonder how long we will keep raising prices. For two people, 0.75 liters of water, and one beer, nearly 87 euros is on the steep side.

We had a delicious meal in a quiet and pleasant ambiance. The sushi is fresh and very tasty. For my husband, who does not like sushi, there were more than enough alternatives.

Family-run restaurant. Very generous portions of sushi. Some items are better than others. The beer is very good. The fish balls are the weakest point.

My companions were pleasant, but found the restaurant's decor lacking atmosphere. The menu was limited, the food was good, but I've had better sushi. I wouldn't eat here again.

The feeling we were left with after our visit to this restaurant was that everything was just not quite right. For example, the sashimi consisted of overly large pieces of salmon and tuna, which detracted from the overall dining experience. The sushi was the same. All in all, we were left feeling unsatisfied.

Sushi is really delicious, but I find it unacceptable that every type of sushi comes with a €0.55 disposable plastic charge, yet the entire order was delivered in only two containers, and I have to pay for disposable plastic seven times. And that was with every order, so I've already paid a few euros for plastic containers, and I didn't get anything!? Sushi prices are quite high, so I think those plastic containers should be free.

Some of the sushi is refrigerated. It's a shame! It doesn't enhance the flavor. I recommend anything warm, except the lamb skewers. They're sliced ​​too thinly, making them tougher. The service was excellent. Very friendly. Everything arrived quickly, too.

Mixed feelings. It's not the staff's fault: they're fantastic and much better than three years ago (when plates of food were just thrown on the table). You also don't have to wait long for your food here. The decor is rather unusual (not my thing). But the biggest disappointment was the food itself: it lacked flavor and was small compared to other sushi restaurants.

What huge portions! It certainly tastes great. The atmosphere is cool, though. Tile floor, no curtains.

Delicious sushi, and upon delivery, we even received a surprise bottle of wine. Highly recommended!

Placed a small order for delivery. After an hour and a half, I called and learned it could take another half hour. I understand it's busy, but this really isn't acceptable. Maybe it's better not to offer it?

It takes an awfully long time to get your food and drinks. At the time of writing, we've been here for three hours and have only gotten two rounds of food. This is probably because there are only two of us serving. And because it takes ages for the sushi to arrive. The food is really good, but it's useless if it takes over 50 minutes after you hand in your ticket to get your food. The table next to us was covered with plates and glasses from the people who were there for two and a half hours. I'd like to try this place again during the week. Definitely not on the weekend!

Food today was as good as never before! Very fresh and great taste! It took a bit longer because only one cook was there today but the taste made the wait worth it.

My favorite sushi restaurant. Everything is always super fresh, delicious, and the temperature is perfect. Delicious shashimi, and it's a real treat, even dessert. I'm very happy with this restaurant in Waddinxveen.

Service doesn't deserve any stars from me. One of the waiters (later revealed to be the owner) started passive-aggressively informing us more than an hour and a half before closing time that we could only order ice cream and no hot dishes. Then, while collecting the dirty plates (in a rough manner), he practically shoved the tray in one of our faces. We had politely asked him not to do that and to be careful. When he came to collect the next batch, he did the exact same thing. This experience alone is the reason I've written this restaurant off!

We have eaten at Nikko regularly, even if you don't like sushi you can eat delicious food here. Really recommended.

The delivery came an hour later than agreed. Food was lukewarm/cold and the fried dripped in the grease. They wanted to bring new but I'm not going to wait another hour. The service and quality has deteriorated a lot.

Had dinner tonight, and what a disappointment. Every dish was a disappointment in itself. The supposedly crispy shrimps were completely tasteless, the chicken salad was floating in the liquid of the limp lettuce and the chicken was wilted. The sushi rice? Mushy and completely without structure. Then the hot dishes: the duck breast fillet and the beef were both bone dry – tough and tasteless. We left the second round; the food was simply unbearable. When we discussed our dissatisfaction with the staff, we received no understanding whatsoever. No apologies, no form of compensation – not even a drink on the house. To make matters worse, we also had to pay the full price, A restaurant that treats its guests and quality like this does not deserve a second chance. We will definitely never come back here – and we strongly advise others not to make the same mistake.

We ordered sushi a few weeks ago, but unfortunately we didn't find the sushi fresh at all. It was clear that the sushi came from the refrigerator, the rice was really not tasty. In addition, the spicy tuna was really so spicy that it was really not tasty. Still a downer since we live nearby and often order sushi.

Food 10/10 super tasty sushi, you can taste that it is very fresh. Also super tasty with dishes such as udon noodles and beef teriyaki. We had to constantly call staff if we wanted a drink. That's a shame. Decor and atmosphere is also fine. Unfortunately, there is hardly any parking space.

At 6 p.m. approximately 50% occupied, after half an hour almost 100% occupied. Apparently a very popular restaurant, partly due to the quality and price ratio. Delicious tasty dishes that we enjoyed. Delicious sushi. One of our favorite restaurants for which we drive from Leiden every now and then. The sushi as well as meat and vegetable dishes are all delicious. There is plenty of space and the prices are normal for a sushi restaurant. There are also plenty of highchairs and if you request it when booking, they can also take into account if you come with a stroller if you want to eat out with babies.

They apparently hate me because they dared to put a hair in the mob, and in another order the crab stick (I didn't even understand what it was) was in foil! Inside the roll! The sashimi that I order for my boyfriend came unfashionable to eat, it was impossible to eat, they really went very bad, I can see it even from the estimates!

Had a delicious meal at Nikko in Waddinxveen! Fast and friendly service. The food is good and so is the atmosphere. We are already looking forward to our next visit. 😋🤤

Modern furnished restaurant where you can eat according to the number of dishes per round principle. The food was tasty, the service nice. No ample parking space.

Staff does not offer any service. It takes staff more than 2 hours to put 2 rounds of sushi on the table. It was pointed out several times why it was taking so long, but was always ignored by the staff. Finally, after 2.5 rounds, we left because after 3 hours in the restaurant with barely anything to serve, we were completely fed up. Afterwards we raised it again at the cash register and there was not even an apology from the staff. We were only told that we should have reported it halfway despite having done so several times. I will never go back to these scammers again.

Personeel biedt geen service aan. Personeel doet er ruim 2 uur over om 2 rondes sushi op tafel te zetten. Verschillende keren aangekaart waarom het zo lang duurt maar telkens genegeerd door het personeel. Uiteindelijk na 2.5 ronde maar weggaan want na 3 uur in het restaurant met amper wat aan tafel te krijgen waren we het helemaal zat. Achteraf bij de kassa weer aangekaart en er kon niet eens een verontschuldiging af van het personeel. Kregen alleen maar te horen dat we het halverwege hadden moeten melden ondanks dat we dat meerdere keren gedaan hebben. Ik ga nooit meer terug naar deze oplichters.

Nikko is a nice Sushi restaurant, the only thing I miss are some softer fabrics to take away the hollow space feeling.

Tasty sushi dishes. The room is not very Japanese decorated and feels a bit cold. The tasty food compensates for this.

Altijd heerlijk eten en vriendelijke bediening. Ook het eten bij bezorgen/afhalen is lekker en de warme gerechten zijn warm.

The restaurant looked nice from the outside when we pulled up. There were less than 15 people in the restaurant in total, so we thought it was nice and quiet. We received a friendly welcome but it took a while before we got our drinks. Sushi, soup, etc. were delivered to the table on time. We were a bit disappointed with the Sushi, the outside was sometimes rolled through something (fried noodles??) which was supposed to be crispy, we have never seen this anywhere before 😊. The fried shrimp were not completely cooked on the inside, so when I returned them I was not spoken to in a friendly manner. When I said I didn't want a new one, she insisted on giving me a new one anyway, I said 3 times that I didn't want that. My husband's shrimps were also undercooked before, but my first shrimps were and they were simply delicious!

Excellent sushi, many choices for children that they will also like. Friendly service, in a somewhat atmospheric building with a decor reminiscent of a Chinese restaurant from the 1990s.

A rather unpleasantly decorated and acoustically challenging restaurant with excellent food and friendly service.

Eten was prima. Veel keus + goed kwaliteit. Sommige hapjes met iets te veel rijst. Bediening was netjes, maar wel wat haastig en zakelijk; niet erg warm en gezelig dus... Op onze zondagavond waren wij om 21.15 uur de laatste gasten, dus kwa sfeer niet superleuk. Om half 10 ging de keuken dicht. Mooie zaak alhoewel erg groot en wat kil. All you can eat voor € 35,80 is wat duur als je eigenlijk maar een vrij klein trek hebt....

Na een lange tijd hier weer eens gaan eten. Uitstekend tappas restaurant met o.a vers gemaakte susi en een zeer uitgebreide keus van allerlei oosterse gerechten. Goed klaargemaakt en erg lekker!

Wij komen hier heel vaak om te eten, en het eten is altijd lekker :) De service is altijd snel voor hoe druk het er is. Heeeeel soms gebeurt het eens dat er iets teveel of te weinig op de tafel komt, maar dan bestel je het de volgende ronde gewoon weer opnieuw, kan gebeuren met hoe druk het soms is en hoeveel dingen mensen bestellen. Zeker een aanrader! :)

Enten was goed, maar heb op andere locaties beter gegeten. Sfeer kan beter, die tegelvloer en die houten stoelen helpen niet mee. De ligging en het pand zijn wel mooi.

Heerlijk eten, vers en ook nog eens snel bezorgd. Het verbaasde mij dat zelfs een grote bestelling voor 10 personen snel bij ons thuis was. Nu ben ik benieuwd naar het restaurant!

Heerlijk gegeten, steeds kleine hapjes besteld super lekker, bediening vriendelijk en deskundig, was heel gezellig, komen graag snel weer terug.

Al jaren vaste klant,goede shushi. Maar 10 februari eten besteld,en het was vreselijk. Oud harde rijst slappe garnalen zalm rook vies ,de shushi vel was te taai om zelfs maar door te snijden, Probeerde contact te krijgen maar werd behoorlijk hart en slecht te woord gestaan.en niet geloofd helaas

top. de Beef teriyaki is een must have hier. het is al de 3e keer dat ik er eet. en ja het is wat prijzig maar het is er gezellig en we zijn elke keer tot sluitingstijd gebleven. Hier nog even een Dankjewel aan alle medewerkers van het restaurant :). Alleen werd deze keer er wel op gewezen dat de keuken ging sluiten. Het Eten : Is erg lekker en de porties zijn precies goed. niet teveel niet te weinig. we zijn met 4 personen maar tot ronde 4 van de 5 gegaan want we waren bijna aan het ontploffen. NAmens mij en de gasten die er waren nogmaals bedankt! :) PS Mijn vrouw was er ook blij mee dat er genoeg keuze was ook zonder vlees.

Heerlijk eten en snelle service

Afgelopen zondag hier goed gegeten. Wel erg druk en moest lang wachten.

Goed eten alleen de verwarming mag wel wat hoger. Was erg koud. Zat zelfs een dame met haar jas aan.

Heerlijke sushi en grill gerechten. Gewoon met pen en papier bestellen. Erg vriendelijke service. Ruim opgezette zaak.

Weer overheerlijk gegeten in dit restaurant, maar 5 bestellingen in één keer per persoon is teveel. De tafel komt dan vol te staan met hapjes en probeer maar uit te zoeken wat je besteld hebt. De gerechten zijn echt super lekker en met zorg klaargemaakt. Helaas werd tijdens het eten zeer irritante muziek gedraaid waar je helemaal hyper van wordt. Gevraagd of er wat rustiger muziek op de achtergrond kon spelen, maar 10 minuten later was het weer raak. Dit verpest de gezellige sfeer. De bediening is vriendelijk en erg vlot. Zitplaatsen zijn ook ruim en de tafeltjes staan niet vlak op elkaar, zodat je wat meer privacy hebt.

Tot 19.00 mochten wij blijven zitten. Vervolgens werd er vanaf 18.45 al gezegd dat we er maar tot 19.00 mochten blijven zitten. Om 18.50 werd dat ook nog eens gezegd en om 18.55 ook. Voelden ons daarom erg weg gekeken. En dat terwijl het restaurant ook nog eens praktisch leeg was. Volgende keer kiezen wij niet meer voor dit restaurant.

De sushi smaakt goed en de service is prima! De ligging van het restaurant is prima, maar je waant jezelf niet bij een sushi restaurant vind ik persoonlijk. Afhalen en bezorgen is hier ook een optie
