The food is really delicious. Sushi, sashimi, beef tenderloin with foie gras... everything is equally good. But... way too expensive. A small plate of beef tenderloin is 30 euros. You don't get rice with it. A small bowl of rice is 5 euros. Additionally, all orders come through very quickly. Once the starter is over, you have your main course within a few minutes. The quality of the food is good. Unfortunately, enjoying a nice meal with generous portions for a few hours is not possible at Tokyo.

What a find in Hilversum! This Japanese restaurant has been around for over 20 years, but this was our first visit. In terms of atmosphere, it was a little disappointing as there were only a few customers on Wednesday evening. But otherwise, the staff were extremely friendly and served us quickly and kindly. We ate à la carte; in a word, delicious. Fresh ingredients, and the (warm) sake was also excellent. Good value for money as far as we are concerned! A wonderful experience, certainly not our last visit.

The homemade sauces are incredibly tasty and give both the sushi and the teppanyaki dishes an extra flavorful touch. Additionally, the restaurant has a beautiful and modern interior with a cozy atmosphere. The staff is friendly, hospitable, and attentive, making you feel welcome immediately. The service is always good, which makes every visit a pleasure. I love coming back here and can wholeheartedly recommend Tokyo Hilversum to anyone looking for fresh sushi, delicious teppanyaki, and a fun night out. I went here with my family and family friends it was amazing. The food is amazing and the people doing it infront of you know what they are doing. The prices might be a lot for some people but the service is great. The only thing is that usually on saturday and sunday their is a lot of people and it can get really loud.

As far as I'm concerned, Tokyo Hilversum is my favorite spot in Hilversum. The staff is incredibly friendly and immediately creates a great atmosphere. The food is delicious and always of good quality. Sitting at the griddle, in particular, makes the experience extra fun and special. Definitely recommended if you are looking for tasty food and a fun evening!

I always have a good experience here. There is a cozy, open atmosphere, the staff is very friendly, and the food is delicious. The chefs at the griddle put on a fun show, and the sushi is nice and fresh. Tokyo Hilversum is truly the best Japanese restaurant in the area.

All in all, we had a good meal. The staff is super friendly, but one chef having to serve four teppanyaki tables is impossible. I do enjoy long meals, but waiting two hours for our food while having four children at the table is a huge test of our patience. The food was really fine, but don't accept reservations if you can't handle the capacity.

Today we had a wonderful meal with six people. Both sushi and teppan dishes were equally delicious. Compliments to the friendly and knowledgeable service. We truly felt like guests and had a relaxed and delicious meal. We'll definitely be back.

The food is delicious and affordable for teppanyaki. Another nice feature is the set menu. There really is something for everyone. The service is excellent as well. You aren't actually allowed to serve yourself; they really prefer to do that for you. The service is top-notch, and you don't have to wait long if you're thirsty either, as they keep a close eye on when your food runs out. I also had the beef rolls (usu yaki) and they were very yummy, as well as the salmon, although unfortunately that didn't taste as good to me today (but that's more down to me than the chef). My daughter and husband had the half lobster as well. It is a filling menu and definitely worth repeating. We even drive an hour for it.

An excellent address for a delicious Japanese dinner for years. This time we sat at the Terayaki table which was quite pleasant in the interaction with other guests and the chef who of course gave the usual show with accompanying jokes. The food was excellent, but the drinks service was a bit disappointing. There were clearly too few servants to keep up with the large number of guests. Moreover, when I ordered an ice tea after a jug of sake, I got sake again. So: more staff, then the service would also be 4-5 stars.

Een bezoek aan vandaag inside Media Park Hilversum met vooraf lekker eten bij dit restaurant. Zeer mooi en sfeervol ingericht en vriendelijk personeel, attent met drinken en nooit lang op de gerechten moeten wachten. Uitgebreide keuze in eten en mooi geserveerd, als we in de buurt zijn gaan we zeker terug.

Absolutely delicious. We went to the restaurant years ago and really enjoyed it but haven't been to Tokyo in ages. Ordered takeaway tonight and everything was spot on... sashimi, maki, handrolls. Best sushi/sashimi I have tasted in a very long time. We will be ordering regularly after this!!

I have been visiting the restaurant for many years. the food is good. during the last visit, we asked to take some of the food with us. the food there is served in two steps. the starter consists of four portions. first two are served, then two more. the remainder of the first round was wrapped at our request. the second round was not ordered for us, not served and could not be included. we asked for it but they just didn't do it. it's almost half the meal.

The teppanyaki is first class! Received so much for one price. Vegetables, fried rice, miso soup and four different meats/seafood dishes per person. The food and service was amazing. My favorite dish was the Victoria perch. My 1 year old son loved watching the chef.

Had a particularly bad experience last Thursday! The food tasted nothing, I got my latte machiato in a beer glass, the waiter looked at me strangely when I wanted to put sugar in my tea and just didn't bring it when I asked, you don't have to order nasi here, it is tasteless and it is literally 2 bites, costs 7 euros!!! , worthless tent. Never eating here again, very unfriendly staff. After eating here we ordered pizzas from Domino's down the street, paid 65 euros for nothing from this Japanese guy, stay away from here! You don't get anything, you're stingy or you get very little. Came on an empty stomach and left on an empty stomach. If you want something tasty to eat, avoid this place!

I have little experience with Japanese food. It was very tasty and preparing food in front of you was also very fun. Staff very friendly. Still a critical note: Something nagged at me: I thought for 2 days about what I thought about throwing the food (egg pieces), I know. This show, (because it is not Japanese custom, as I understood from one of the staff members) is not a respectful way for me to treat our food. The chicken that laid this egg did not have a nice life and her product should still be treated with respect. And what are we teaching our next generation? That you can play with food and throw it? This was the only blemish and I wanted to say that, because otherwise it was a very pleasant evening and we had a delicious meal.

Must go place to experience live kitchen!! The food was top notch!!

Horrible customer service and atmosphere. Waiter and then manager refused to give a tap water to a small child who was thirsty and insisted on buying a bottled one. Not sure if it is even legal. Avoid such places who only think about maximizing their profit and care zero about environment or society not even mentioning customer service.

Ronduit excellente service. Snel drankjes op tafel, goed overzicht op de zaak en gasten. Eten was ontzettend smaakvol en de sfeer kalm maar gastvrij. Grote aanrader: de biefrolletjes (Gyu maki).

Niet onverdeeld enthousiast. Gerechten zijn op zich redelijk, maar het personeel had duidelijk hun avond niet toen wij er aten. Een glimlach kon er nauwelijks vanaf van de gastheer die ons ontving. Ik ging hier heen om mijn dochter te verassen met de spectaculaire aspecten van het teppan koken, maar daar was hier weinig sprake van in verhouding tot andere tappan restaurants waar ik geweest ben. Er werd aan onze tafel zelfs flink geruzied door de bediening en de koks. Beetje jammer wel.

Wat een gezelligheid en een heerlijk eten. Dit was en is een echte aanrader.

Gisteravond heerlijk gegeten. Japans Restaurant Tokyo heeft hoge kwaliteit vers gemaakt teppanyaki. De koks vermaken het gezelschap met hun kunstjes en wat Ook de zalm en tonijn van de sushi waren erg vers. Eerder ook bij ander Japanse zaken geweest, maar dit is toch wel echt mijn favoriet. Bovendien was de bediening heel aardig en kwam het eten redelijk snel. Nogmaals heerlijk gegeten en ik kom hier zeker nog een keer terug.

De plek is erg gezellig en de bediening was goed. Ik raad u zeker aan om hier eens te eten

Prima Teppanyaki restaurant. Nieuwe inrichting, ruim en prettig. Afzuiging was heel goed (toch wel fijn met een bakplaat). Kwaliteit van eten was prima maar geen top kwaliteit. Zowel de echte kwaliteit van de ingrediënten als de finesse van de bereiding waren niet goed genoeg. Zou niet snel een tweede keer gaan.

Met vier personen gegeten, twee personen hadden het vis menu en twee personen het vlees menu. Het eten was oke maar de kwaliteit van de vis was niet best. Zou er niet nog een keer gaan eten.
