Dear food! Delicious! We are more than satisfied! Unfortunately, it's very small!

Yes, another rare authentic Indonesian restaurant in NL! There are so many Indonesian restaurants in NL, but not many that really taste authentic... especially from East Java region. Their bakso (meatball soup) tastes really like what you can get in Indonesia. Even though it is listed as lunch menu, you can order it for dinner too. Important note: please reserve your table before going to the restaurant, at least one day in advance! The restaurant has very limited seating, less than 20 seats are available (2 x 4 seats, 2 x 2 seats, and 3 high table seats) so there is no guarantee to secure a table if you just walk in. The staff were all nice and accommodating, they even helped me keep my forgotten item that I left at the restaurant. The price is rather expensive for such a small restaurant, but I am willingly to pay it for the quality and taste that I get. Also super important note: it is halal. Recommended!

DELICIOUS food, fair prices. We had to wait quite a while to be served, but otherwise everything was perfect!

We ordered sate kambing, sate ayam, bakso blambangan, daging rendang & ayam rudjak, gado gado, es cendol, and nasi goreng (and thankfully reserved a table for four). As an Indonesian, I appreciate the authenticity of these Javanese dishes. My (Dutch) husband put it more succinctly: "Best Indonesian food in the Netherlands," and I agree. Oh yeah, we live in The Hague!

When I arrived, everything was fully booked for lunch, but the lovely waitress kindly suggested that I come back a bit later and it was definitely worth it. The dish was tasty and filling. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming

For us (we're from The Hague), this is one of the best Indonesian eateries with a friendly owner. My husband always eats sate kambing with lontong at this restaurant, and I have sate ajam with longtong. A delicious roasted flavor that almost no one else gets. Delicious fresh layer cake. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I want to give an honest review. The food was delicious! The only thing that worries me is the service which is a bit annoying. We ordered food to eat in and before leaving we wanted to order some to take away. However an employee said that we should have ordered it earlier because then they wouldn't have to make it twice, sounded jokingly but come on, isn't that part of your job????

The food was really really good until I came across a black hair. The male chef really needs to wear a hairnet. The takeaway boxes are stacked in a corner so all sorts of things fly in there when you have so little space. That could be better.

Best Indo Food in Amersfoort, really great!!

A very nice Indonesian food in the heart of Amersfoort. The staff were very kind and friendly. I was 10 minutes late to their closing but they allow me to still eat and sit inside. Would definitely come back again!

A small warung. Reservations are almost a must. But the food is delicious and authentic Indonesian. The Cendol (pronounced: tjendol) is divine..... don't order everything now because then there will be too little and I will miss the boat!!!

We cycled her from Driebergen-Rijsenburg because we heard this place was good. It exceeded our expectations. Having just spent some time in Indonesia this was as authentic as it comes, and amazing.

Jiwa Jawa is a hidden and unexpected tiny culinary gem in Amersfoort. Popular Indonesian dishes are reasonably priced and, most important, taste like home.

First time visiting Jiwa Jawa Famous for "Best Bakso" and " Best Es Cendol" in NL Will suggest to make reservation (by phone call) for best experience :) We ordered Bakso Blambangan (Meatball soup with Pangsit), Ice Cendol (you have to request because it's not on the menu 😅), and nasi goreng Bakso was SO NICE! even more the Es Cendol. Indonesian approved! Bakso was served with yellow noodles, meehoon, and tofu filled with meatball. Pangsit were so crunchy (reminding me of those pangsit goreng from famous Indo Resto 😁) Will definitely be back (and bring some friends too)!

Received a super friendly welcome, very small dining area, but people, what delicious food you can get here. Taste is really fantastic and price quality is really great. This is just fun!!!

Very rude attitudes and ignorance after we complain. Bad management. Even a kind customer was trying to help. It’s ridiculous that“TABLE reservation” still means privilege even when walk-in customers was accepted in restaurant and have already arrived and ordered FIRST.

A cute and tiny Indonesian restaurant sitting at the corner of Amersfoort Centrum. The meatballs menu is really good with plenty of beef and some fried pangsit. A must visit place if you're wandering around Amersfoort!!

The food is amazing! Very authentic Indonesian food. In the weekends make sure you have a reservation because its very small. Otherwise the chance to be able of dining in is pretty small.

I am always spoiled by the authentic taste and friendly environment here. You name it, bakso, nasi goreng, sate, mie ayam. Also the pangsit too. This place has been my must to go place whenever I wanna have the bakso and everything. Please do reserve first in advance, the seats are pretty limited.

Don't let the poor looks of this restaurant stop you. The food is really delicious. I don't know of a better Indonesian restaurant in the area than Jiwa Jawa. Personal preference is to pick up simply because there are very limited seats and they are not very comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for tasty and relatively healthy food. There are also vegetarian/vegan options with jackfruit and Indonesian food is often gluten/lactose free as standard (just ask if you really have an allergy).

Ordered bakso 4 portions for take away at 13.30 yesterday and paid. I picked up 15 minutes later, they said there was 2 portions bakso ( I already paid for 4 ), 2 of the other portions were replaced with bakmie ayam. I said ok and they made me wait 30 more minutes. They gave me way smaller portions for take away instead of if I would have eaten there.

Ordered food, the ayam rudjak. Very tasty, but you can't turn your back, it feels very chaotic. But it's worth it.

Small but nice! We ate several dishes and all well served and equally delicious. The drinks Cendol and Teh Botol completed our lunch.

Such an authentic place hidden in the centre of Amersfoort. It’s a small place with only a couple of seats so would def recommend to make a reservation. Felt right back in Indonesia. The Indonesian radio station was on and I couldn’t decide what to taste first. I went for the saté kambing that was really tender. Also enjoyed the bakso blambangan that was really filled like a bakso should be. Right amount of meat, bihun and mie. Of course had Teh Botol next to it. See you next time!

I can recommend bakso, nasi goreng, and pangsit goreng. The food was amazing! It really tastes like traditional Indonesian food! I will come back again and try the mie ayam. 🤤

I got satay here a few times, it was very tasty, but the more often I bought it and had it delivered, each time there was more fat on the meat. It really wasn't tasty, all that fat on it. Too bad because it is quite pricey when you order, so we don't do that anymore.

This little Indonesian eatery is really good. Most Indonesians come here to taste the bakso (see photos). It really tastes authentic Indonesian. The rest of the offering is also tasty. I brought home several nasi campur. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This eatery is tiny, so reservations are recommended.

We ordered nasi goreng, mie bakso, mie ayam, and satay. I found it tasty and authentic Indonesian food. The employees were nice and friendly. However, the place was little. It would be better if we had to make a reservation first.

Best baso blambangan. Must make reservation. At lunch time, they have more street foods. Small restaurant. Cendol is very yummy. If you come by car, the parking garage will cost approximately €3/hr, walking distance about 5 mins away.

We ordered bakso for our lunch and it was amaaaazing, one of the best Bakso in The Netherlands. Worth for it price, you will even have not only one but two Pangsit Goreng. The owners and workers are very welcoming and friendly. Please bear in mind that we needed to do a reservation and we did it one week prior (to be safe) 😊

Today, I was here with my good friend for lunch...it was super tasty...I ordered nasi goreng kampong, cendol and tea and my friend bakso and pangsit and tea...later coffee after...the atmosphere was good and the food too...then I will definitely go back for lunch or dinner😋😋

Very small restaurant and now finally a table available. We've passed by there many times, but it was always full. There are only three tables and wow this food tastes good. Hopefully we will be lucky with a free table next time.

Had an absolutely amazing dinner there yesterday. The staff is just lovely, the place cozy and the food… so flavorful and tasty. I definitely recommend this place! You’ll see me there often with saté sauce all over my face.

Very very good food. The favorite menu is Bakso. When I was there it was sold out within 2hours. But I guarantee you all other foods are good as well. The staffs are also very friendly. The space is kinda small though.

Came at 16.55 on Tuesday, asked "is it open yet?". The female waiter's sister kindly answered, "On Tuesday, we'll just have lunch, sis." But there was a male brother who answered "it's written on the door, you've been here before, right???" the door was open and couldn't be read from the outside, on Google there was also no information that on Tuesdays you could only take away/afhalen, and that was me. FIRST TIME coming there. I answered, "I've never been here", I came with my friend who had been there "only once", and HOW DO WE KNOW by coming once??? Please improve the friendliness, even though we both come from the same country. Hopefully the future will be better, especially if it's my "eerste indruk". Looks like I won't be going there again, thank you😊

Best Indonesian food in the Netherlands with a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere!

The definition of a restaurant that feels like home. Not only the food but also the people and atmosphere. My recommendation is always Bakso (Meatballs) and Mie Ayam 👍🏼 I lost count how many times I have been here 😆

This is the best place to eat authentic Bakso (Indonesian Meatball Soup) and Mie Ayam (Chicken Noodle Soup) in the Netherlands. The food is so good, but the place is small.

Curry egg was bomb 💣 Will definitely come again to try more things! ———— The meatballs are delicious, the chili sauce is okay! For Indonesian tastes, if it could be better, give it 6 stars. You really have to make a reservation to get the meatballs. It's really delicious! Then you get fried dumplings, the dumplings are super! The egg curry is delicious! Haven't tried the others yet, highly recommend coming.

Nice place to get bakso. I thought it tasted really nice with the fried wonton on the side (pangsit). The sambal (chili paste) was also tasty. My friends and I went here for lunch. They also serve other Indonesian dishes (rice dishes etc). The place is quite small so I’d recommend calling to make a reservation in advance, otherwise they do takeaway options.

Probably the best mie ayam in The Netherlands. Waitress and waiter were very friendly. The only downside was the waiting time for the food was very long (1 hour for us). Hopefully the management can improve and make this faster.

We have had take away food from here before and it has always been very good. Things have been so chaotic lately, the website isn't working and orders are being mixed up. Today we got rendang meat instead of jackfruit in our vegan menu. Really not okay and reason for us not to come back. Too bad because it was a nice thing.

We just had early supper there, was looking forward to eat the Bakso bu it was sold out when we came in so we settled for Mie Ayam, Sate Ayam + Lontong and Nasi Campur (with a mix of Rendang, Ayam Rudjak, Sate Ayam, Telur Rebus & Tumis Buncis). The flavour of the food was amazing and authentic, i will definitely come back again!!

I ordered bakso and cendol here. The bakso was delicious with some fried siomay and “tetelan”. And the cendol was the best cendol I've ever tasted in the Netherlands. My Dutch fiancée really liked the cendol. Top!

Hands down the best Indonesian meatballs and satay you can find in the Netherlands thus far! the meatball dish was very tasty, you can clearly taste the broth was made authentically with bones, not artificial flavoring, the meatballs were meaty and not too chewy and finally, you get bits and pieces of fatty innards which is really scarce to see in other Indonesian restos. The satay was also generously big, juicy and had a smoky taste that you would expect from satay vendors back home. The owner was also very delightful to converse with and very kind! Although the place was on the small side, I can say that if you make a reservation first, you’ll definitely have a great time and happy tummy!
