We were there with eight people (including our children and grandchildren) to celebrate my birthday. We received a very friendly welcome and attentive service. The restaurant is modern and bright. The food was very tasty, offering a variety of combinations of individual dishes and set menus (including vegetarian and vegan options) with explanations upon request. Prices range from approximately €20-40. We ended up paying €225, including drinks and the little ones' special requests. A chat with the waiters (in English) was included. Highly recommended!

Tip: make a reservation!! Came here by chance! What a delicious food, what an ambiance, what a good staff! And how busy with guests!!!

It was a special day for me and my wife. We choose a restaurant for our birthdays. I am 75 years old; my choice was "Sally's Kitchen" in Amersfoort. Now we have been back for the sixth time. We have also had a good meal here with our friends again and again. What keeps us coming back? The friendly welcome, the personal and friendly contact at the table, the cozy atmosphere, but also the consistent quality of the food. The flavors are very refined, every dish tastes the way it should taste! And what you no longer encounter in restaurants... free water (with ice cubes) from the tap. At the end of the evening you will be escorted out by one of the people from the restaurant. Highly recommended!

What a fantastic restaurant! The food was really delicious. And the staff super friendly. The restaurant is stylishly decorated and has a very pleasant atmosphere. If we are ever in Amersfoort again, we will definitely eat here again!

A beautiful and cozy restaurant where we were welcomed by very friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed a mix of authentic Indonesian dishes and there was enough for two people. When we asked where is Sally, we had the pleasure of meeting her. A friendly, hospitable and dedicated chef from a great restaurant with great cuisine. Highly recommended and definitely worth repeating.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here tonight and it was great! Besides the fact that the food was really delicious, the lovely staff topped it off! We felt very much at home and were really guests. You don't always see that nowadays, so that was a very nice experience. Something went wrong with the reservation/guest list. That was immediately handled very well, although it did not bother us at first. Patrick decided to treat us with a delicious house wine, but as icing on the cake, my friend (who can eat quite quickly if it tastes good) also got extra dishes! Super hospitable and above all warm and cozy. We felt very much at home with you, see you soon! ☀️

Good food, but "pricey", a bit strange al la carte concept where they recommend choosing two dishes, which is really not necessary for an average/small eater, especially because it is quite expensive. Service is very friendly and attentive! Great business!

Unexpectedly had early dinner at Sally's with family. Mid to bigger size restaurant for city area. Walked from Amersfoort CS for about 7 minutes. They have various menu sets (similar to Rijsttafel). But we had ala carte. As stated on the card, they suggest you to order two loose items for one person. We were with 4 (2 kids and two adults), I ordered 3 items, 1 goat sate, one soup. All were yummy and delicious. For 4 adults, suggest to follow the advice. Or order the set menu. The waitress and waitresses were friendly and kind. They took action with lowering down music volume. Service time is comparable to standard Dutch or European restaurants, but this one with extra friendly service. Goat sate was the favorite. Mild and tasty. Chicken was really yummy. Lodeh was super lekker. Recommended for family dine out.

Ik ben hier met mijn vriendin gaan eten. Het personeel is vriendelijk en het eten is smaakvol, maar wat ons betreft wel wat aan de prijs. Punt van aandacht is de kaart. Er zijn een aantal menu's, maar die hebben geen keuze qua nagerecht en zijn standaard een koffie of thee met spekkoek. De keuze van kaart is dan weer vreemd opgezet, want je 'moet' eigenlijk per persoon twee gerechten kiezen - samen nogal duur en veel te veel voor 1 persoon. Dat is geen aanrader. Sally's was voor ons prima voor een keertje.

I really wanted to give 5 stars, but unfortunately that's not possible. The cuisine was still good, but the sauces were too sweet and there was not enough rice to eat with it. Overall the portions were very small! We took a menu: 38 € for 5 cubes of rice and a few satay sticks? And also 2 combination dishes (lemongrass chicken and green beans) with a small bowl of rice, €30! I really understand that people don't come to eat completely full, but an extra spoonful of rice would be nice...

Very friendly staff! There is a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was very tasty but I thought it was pricey. With one alcoholic drink and 2 courses (starter and main course) we spent around €56 per person.

We hadden een weekmenu. We begonnen met een laksa (heerlijke, licht verteerbare kokossoep met glasnoedels en garnalen). Daarna overheerlijke rundersate, geitenvlees en kippendij met witte rijst. Frisse komkommer, knapperige fritesstickjes, groenteschotel, ei met garnalen saus. Om je vingers bij af te likken. Heerlijk kaneelijs met worteltaart (klein stukje) na. Ook nog eens heel vriendelijk bediend door alle personeelsleden. Kan wedijveren met de beste Haagse Indonesische restaurants, voor een heel acceptabele prijs. En heerlijke wijn (Costieres de Nimes Vermentino) maakte het feestje compleet. H

Very good and very tasty food. Choose a 3 course menu so you can taste a little bit of everything. The satays are delicious. Friendly service. No complaints, just a nice evening with very tasty food. Definitely recommended.

We waren met 12 personen waardoor we moesten kiezen uit bepaalde menu's. Een aantal personen uit de groep had hetzelfde menu gekoxen als ik maar zaten aan de ander kant vd tafel. Of ik maar even aan de andere kant wilde gaan zitten want de bakjes stonden al daar. We kregen voor meerdere personen erg weinig te eten. Bijvoorbeeld klein bakje lontong voor 4 personen. Weinig sate voor 4 personen, klein bakje sambal boontjes. Lams sate vond ik niet lekker maar dat is per persoon verschillend. Enige keus uit dessert was koffie of thee met plakje spekkoek. Aan het begin is er 2x gevraagd wat we wilden drinken daarna is er niemand meer geweest om drankjes op te nemen voor de rest van de avond . Ik vond het een hoop geld voor weinig eten. En de service laatste wensen over. Erg jammer.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful evening with a large group at Sally's Kitchen in Amersfoort, a true gem for Indonesian cuisine! From the moment we walked in we felt extremely welcome. The separate room we were allocated was ideal: attractive and spacious enough for our group, so we could enjoy our dinner undisturbed. The service was absolutely top notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. We were regularly asked if everything was satisfactory. The dishes were served at a nice pace, and the team's enthusiasm for Indonesian cuisine was clearly noticeable. Every dish tasted authentic and prepared with care. From spicy rendang to fresh gado gado, the flavors were perfectly balanced. The wide choice made it possible for everyone in the group to find something to suit their taste, and every dish was a hit! In short, Sally's Kitchen is an absolute must for lovers of Indonesian cuisine, whether you are in a small group or with a larger group. We will definitely come back!

Vriendelijk ontvangst. Heerlijk eten. De kabeljauw was bijzonder goed van smaak en zo goed klaargemaakt. Geweldige bediening. Kortom een feestje om naar toe te gaan.

Después de haber pasado unas semanas en Indonesia a principios de este año, que incluía el mejor Rendang de ternera que habíamos probado. Estábamos dispuestos a probar la comida indonesia estilo holandés. Habíamos pasado Sally’s Kitchen en nuestro paseo hacia el centro y decidimos reservar para la cena allí. Como un grupo de 7 me alegré de que habíamos reservado como incluso un domingo por la noche el restaurante estaba ocupado y pronto se llenó. Siempre es una buena señal. Una vez dentro fuimos recibidos por personal muy amable que nos disculpó nuestra falta de holandés y procedió a explicar el menú y tomar nuestra orden de bebidas. En ningún momento nos sentimos apresurados y pasamos un par de horas relajados disfrutando de nuestra comida. Había la opción de algunas comidas fijas, pero decidimos pedir en el menú de combinación, elección de un mínimo de dos platos principales y luego lados, aunque todos venían con un montón de arroz blanco. Las porciones eran abundantes y compartimos algunos platos entre nosotros, basta decir que el Rendang de Carne de Res era tan bueno como habíamos probado en Indonesia. Todos los demás platos eran de un estándar similar, lo que le da una idea de lo buena que era la comida. Casi podía imaginar que estaba comiendo en un restaurante local indonesio. Acabamos de tener la tubería principal, el tamaño de la porción impidió poder considerar un postre, y con un par de bebidas gastamos menos de 40 € por cabeza, así que una buena relación calidad-precio. Sin duda volveremos cuando seamos los siguientes en Amersfoort.

We had a very nice meal here. All dishes were well seasoned. Our favorite dish was the Ikan Balado Pedas (Fried cod in spicy sauce of red peppers and onions). Combined with white rice this was DELICIOUS!! Everyone received a piece of bacon biscuit with coffee and tea. This was a nice surprise 😊

The food is nice. The service is friendly and attentive. They seem to want to take Indonesian dining to a higher level, but I don't think that is necessary and it mainly results in a somewhat skewed price-quality ratio. The three-course menu ultimately consists of a plate of nasi rames with spring rolls beforehand and spekkoek afterwards. Anyway, we probably had a good meal there.

The four of us had a delicious meal. Both the menus and the individual dishes are very well prepared. The staff is professional and very hospitable. The ambiance is wonderfully relaxing. Definitely recommended 😁

What a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the cooking of Sally and her team. The room is beautifully decorated and the tables are not packed together, which gives you the feeling that you have space and attention for your group. I expected a small shop but was pleasantly surprised when we stepped inside: we were warmly welcomed and led to our reserved table by the window. The four of us made choices from the combination dishes and made our choices from them, just like with an Indonesian rice table. Everything was delicious and buttery tender. After dinner we were offered bacon biscuits on the house. Never had such a delicious bacon cookie before. Charles was very warm and we felt very welcome. In short: highly recommended!

We visited the restaurant as a family with three generations. The food was very pleasantly seasoned and the menu was varied. Somewhat few vegetarian side dishes, more meat-heavy. Very attentive staff, good drinks.

We enjoyed this restaurant so much we went for dinner twice while staying in Amersfoort. First of all, it is a relatively large place with the tables spaced far enough apart to allow adult conversation. The service is superb and the servers made us feel like frequent visitors. In our two visits we tried a couple of different tasting menus and enjoyed them a lot. We would definitely go back.

Recently had an excellent rice table. The service is very hospitable and service-oriented. You don't experience this very often these days. The only disadvantage is the stress of choosing all the dishes haha, so one of the three menus is ideal.

Sehr gute Küche in modernem Ambiente. Etwas außerhalb der historischen Innenstadt von Amersfort, in 10 min. zu Fuss erreichbar. Sehr netter und aufmerksamer Service und sehr gutes Essen. Die Menüs sind empfehlenswert, wenn auch preislich eher am oberen Ende. Gerne wieder.

Very friendly and professional staff, great food (good taste; tender meat) and good atmosphere in the restaurant. This was our first visit to this restaurant, but certainly not the last! Amazing experience.

Na lange tijd zijn we weer bij Sally’s Kitchen gaan eten, maar we zijn flink teleurgesteld. We vonden de sfeer in het restaurant zoals een all-you-can-eat restaurant. Op zich was personeel vriendelijk maar niet echt attent: ze waren onze voorgerechten vergeten (daar boden ze wel excuses voor aan) en ze vertelden ons pas achteraf dat we in het menu konden kiezen wat voor rijst we erbij wilden hebben, en ook wat voor thee (gember, en munt ipv standaard thee). Menukaart is beperkt en je wordt bijna gedwongen om voor menu te gaan a 37,50 euro, want bij a la cart moet je van de hoofdgerechten (a 15-16 euro per stuk) er minimaal twee pp van bestellen. De kwaliteit van het eten is matig en prijs kwaliteit vinden we niet goed: 37,50 voor 2 kleine loempia’s, 6 saté stokjes, bakje boontjes, droge kleefrijst in blokjes, en thee met mini stukje spekkoek. Volgende keer gaan er graag weer naar Rumah Melati aan de achterkant van het station.

Things changed, for the worse... Before you got a nice amount of food of good quality, and a good wine.... For a good price Now they changed there formula; prices went up and the portions got smaller. The wine also got less.... What a shame and STUPID decision by the owner... I wont come back

Ate at Sally's yesterday. We eat there often (2-3 times a year) and always find it fine, but maybe Sally was sick yesterday. It was not what we are used to. Large pieces of meat and not always tasty. Carefully contacting the waiter for some extra nasi goreng was actually not possible. After 30-45 minutes I got a bowl of nasi goreng (huh...+€18,-- for some extra nasi is a bit of a shame.) We had a pleasant evening and hope that Sally's illness is short-lived, but no Sally's for us for the time being.

We zijn hier al vaak geweest, en meestal zeer naar tevredenheid. Deze keer echter niet. Aardige medewerkers, maar niet alert- verschillende keren hebben we erg lang moeten wachten voordat het lukte de aandacht te trekken. Dat kan een keer gebeuren, maar voor een extra drankje, het bestellen van koffie, voor het afrekenen… steeds was het lastig iemand te vinden die aandacht hier voor had. Ookhet eten was niet zoals we dat hier gewend zijn - grote brokken vlees, en €18 voor het bijbestellen van wat rijst… Allemaal net niet vanavond!

We've been coming here with my whole family for years and were here again recently with 12 people. We always ask the staff to do a good assortment of dishes and they never fail to impress. We tend to have the private room as that makes it easier and then we are less of a burden on other guests but we have sat in the main dining area a few times as well. Atmosphere is great and the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. Great wine and amazing food...

Erg lekker gegeten, gerechtjes zijn erg smakelijk en er wordt gekookt met goede ingrediënten en prima porties. Bediening is vriendelijk en oplettend. Betalen voor een klein karafje kraanwater terwijl je op een avondje uiteten echt wel je geld uitgeeft, vind ik niet klantvriendelijk.

Nu niet gegeten maar afgehaald. Lekker eten maar soms kleine missertjes. Eten is meestal goed op smaak. Rendang was erg vet en de boontjes droog. Kip en saté juist heerlijk. Personeel erg vriendelijk.

Voor het eerst hier gegeten. Wat een fijn restaurant. De gerechten waren zeer smaakvol en het zag er prachtig uit. Gastheer en bediening helemaal top. Een aanrader, wij komen zeker terug.
