I was unfortunately disappointed with my experience here. From the moment I walked in, I felt a bit ignored. The young waitress seemed distant, which didn't really make me feel welcome. Every order and request took a very long time. I don't mind that in itself—I understand it can be busy—but her attitude made me feel uncomfortable. :( I tried to remain friendly and smile, but her cold gaze made me feel like I'd done something wrong. Maybe she didn't know the answer to my question, or maybe she just didn't want to respond; I don't know. It was confusing and a bit painful. I have a great appreciation for Asian cuisine and normally always feel warmly welcomed at Asian restaurants in the Netherlands. Here, however, I felt out of place, almost like I didn't belong. Even the tables around me were getting more attention, which only added to the feeling of discomfort. It was an unpleasant evening, and honestly, it kind of ruined my weekend. A shame, because I was really looking forward to a nice meal. :((((

Amazing restaurant. The food is perfect, they have the best Ramen in Maastricht. The service is always incredibly nice, friendly and we always feel welcome.

Delicious, however the portions are small and the prices exorbitant. Very nice decor. We ate around 4 p.m., and they didn't have enough tuna left to offer a large portion of sashimi.

Quiet restaurant with an open kitchen... nothing like the 100% microwave kitchens of many Chinese restaurants. Friendly staff, very good food with exceptional value for money, well-deserved five stars.

I am a regular in this restaurant. The service is nice, very respectful staff. Portions are big and well priced for what you get. I highly recommend the Shrimp Ramen. I am not an expert in this type of cuisine but I definitely enjoy this restaurant.

It ain't an authentic Japanese restaurant if it can't roll a decent sushi. It doesn't matter if it is run by Japanese. There are many Japanese options in this town. Those will be my recommendation for the next time.

The food here is amazing and the waiters are always very kind. The food comes quick after ordering and the price is perfect for the food you are getting. The place itself is cute and spacious.

I think the Japanese restaurant is run by Chinese people, so the famous Japanese friendliness was (very) missing. The reception was very rude, the wrong dishes were prepared, this was also noticed, but they still tried to "sell" us the food we didn't order. When paying by card I had to turn away because there was no effort not to look at the pin. The food was average and plentiful. So no criticism. If you want to eat cheaply, you can definitely try it, maybe the service was just having a bad day.

A cozy and affordable restaurant. In the meantime, I am a regular customer together with my girlfriend. Highly recommended if you are a fan of Japanese cuisine. Good sushi with generous portions and also tasty ramen (especially the Duck Ramen). It is also useful to know that you get a 10% discount if you are a student.

I took the sushi with me, incredibly tasty, the best restaurant in Maastricht, I recommend it, the rice is divine, the fish is fresh and tasty, the atmosphere in the restaurant is just fire, the toilets have a very pleasant smell, there is nothing like this anywhere, the staff is very nice

The restaurant has an unpleasant appearance due to the old furniture and the lack of atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. With my first plate of sushi I got the wrong piece. I immediately reported this and the waitress would check it out. However, she acted irritated and seemed chaotic. It wasn't until half an hour later that I was told that I would still receive the correct piece. In the end it was only put in front of me when I was already putting on my coat to leave, as if it had not been forgotten. A strange turn of events. In addition, some sushi ordered were missing, while others were delivered twice. The staff seemed confused and even wanted to give me extra sushi that I had not ordered, after I had clearly said that I did not want it! The food itself was not special, but the poor service in particular ensures that I will not return here. Very unfortunate, because I had higher expectations.

WHAT A BLAMAGE. I make a reservation for 2 people via their website and immediately receive a confirmation email. We arrived right on time, but NO table. We were put at a 6-person table with the comment that a 2-person table would become available soon. But looking around I saw that all tables were still in the middle of their meal or had just ordered. So that would take a long time. In the meantime, a 4-person group came in. The 6-person table we were sitting at was split up. We were allowed to help move the table ourselves. It ended up on a drafty corner directly against the bar, an extremely unpleasant place to sit. We felt fobbed off and treated very unprofessionally. We are used to something, but this was everything. That never happened to me in Japan. This restaurant did a GIANT CROWDED SKATE, and behaved unprofessionally in their failure to keep the reserved table available. FOEI

We ate here recently. The atmosphere is quite nice. The place is authentic and the food is a good price. Personally, I have tried similar food in different restaurants, which were a bit tastier, but they were more expensive as well. So it depends on what your preference is in that. The sizes are alright, a ramen will definitely make you feel quite full. The place can get a little bit smokey, since the restaurant isn’t suuuper big. All in all, if you don’t have a super big budget, I think it’s a great way to have dinner for example, but taste wise I have tried similar food that I liked a bit more spice/ingredients wise.

Food during the Christmas holidays is nothing to write home about. Cook working disinterestedly. All his fish dishes were tough.

For a Japanese restaurant it's simple but not uncomfortable. We had read in a few posts that the door had to be opened more often. The same goes for our food. The trigger is almost non-existent and when making teppanyaki you need it even more. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that great. Starter and sushi ok, but not great. Miso soup was more like dishwater and the main meat course was inedible and not just at our table. The vegetables are average good and fresh. The service staff were all overwhelmed, hectic, not attentive and uninterested. Too bad. I would have preferred to report nice things

Eerste keer, maar nooit meer. Wij hadden niet gereserveerd. Zij hadden nog plek voor ons. Wij kregen een tafel die ingegraven is. Echt heel onhandig als je slechte knie en rug hebt. Meer dan 1 uur gewacht voor 3 sushirollen en 2st lamsrack. Tussendoor hebben andere tafels al 3 gangen gehad. Een tafel die na ons kwam, werd sushi niet aangeraden omdat het te lang zou duren. Zij kregen vrij snel hun Gyoza en noodle soep en wij nog steeds niks. Schandalig. Als de keuken niet aankan, moet je niet meer gasten aannemen. Bij de toiletten zie je 3 vrieskasten staan en kartonnen dozen. Erg rommelig. Bij het afrekenen werd ook niet gevraagd of het lekker was. Ons zie je nooit meer terug.

The food was very tasty, and that's about it. The service was rushed, stressed and seemed uninterested. It was full when we were there and the chefs could barely cope, or not at all. They couldn't make the menu we ordered because it would take too long. The kitchen is in the restaurant, which is nice as long as the extraction of the griddle works properly. But it didn't work. The restaurant was regularly full of blue baking fumes, after which the staff briefly opened the front door to ventilate, and that is not nice when the wind is blowing hard outside and it is 5 degrees. The decor is Japanese minimalist. The chairs and tables reminded us of second-hand hospital furniture from the 1960s. The single glass in the facade was fogged up on the inside and radiated very cold. Atmospheric eatery. When we got home we discovered that our clothes had taken on the smell of Japanese cooking. Bah.

Onverwacht bij dit restaurant terecht gekomen. We zagen de lekkere menukaart en besloten het eens te proberen. Vriendelijke en vlotte bediening. We hadden eerst een voorgerecht, gyoza en de karage , dit was al smullen Als hoofdgerecht een ramrensoep, udon noodle met kip Beide erg lekker en smaakvol. Het zijn flinke porties. We komen hier zeker eens terug

Even though it was already 9pm they welcomed us and gave us a table in a nice location. Impeccable service and delicious, plentiful dishes. Their noodle soup is perfect on a cold November evening!

Reservamos Kaishu con un grupo de amigos, 12 adultos, 5 niños. Necesitábamos esperar la comida hasta 3 horas. Algunos todavía no consiguieron el plato principal donde otros estaban tomando el postre. La calidad estaba muy por debajo del nivel estándar normal del restaurante. Dirigiendo la gestión nuestras quejas fueron negadas. ¡No vayas con tus amigos!

Sorry people, we reserved as a group more than a week before. If we arrive at 6.30 then you cannot be served with dinner at 9.15! And some got desert before the other got their starter....

heerlijk gegeten. heb gekozen voor een sushi menu waarbij ik diverse gangen kreeg. alles smaakte heerlijk. Jammer dat het restaurant zo ver weg ligt van mijn woonplaats anders was ik er zeker vaker. vriendelijke alerte bediening.

I ate here before, it was very tasty. Maybe im unlucky now, but the udon duck taste so weird. It tastes like “pork mustard soup” or we call it Baikut in indo. Soury flavour causes by the pickled mustard. First time eating ramen/noodle with this flavour. 😢

I and my girlfriend recently ordered beef udon and pork ramen, and they were absolutely delightful! The flavors were rich and savory, making every bite a pleasure. If you are Asian and know Japanese a little bit, do not have expectation about here. The cuisines were not Japanese dish, disappointed. Relatively pricey. Dining area is not separated with kitchen, full of smoky odor,make your tears out. Terrible experience.

A very beautiful and cozy Japanese restaurant in the center of Maastricht. The portions are large. The food is incredibly delicious. I recommend trying both Ramen soup and its fried version. The service is excellent. I recommend!!!

Sushi mit schlechter Qualität der Welt. Sushi war gar nicht lecker. Ich habe meiner Freunden zum ersten Mal Sushi empfohlen, und ich bereue es sehr. Sie haben meinetwegen die schlechtesten Sushi der Welt gegessen. Sushi war gar nicht frisch und hat so schlecht gerochen. So so schlecht. Ich muss übergeben.

Large portion and the price is great. Quality is not that good. We ordered shrimp and pork ramen. The shrimp was tasty, but it didn't taste like ramen. Noodles were soft and broth was a bit bland

Wij zijn hier met ons gezin naar toe gegaan, omdat wij allemaal dol zijn op Ramen. Nou, het was meer water met een bouillonblokje er in gestopt dan echt de ramen, zoals dit hoort te zijn. Totaal géén aanrader!

This restaurant cosplayed as a Japanese restaurant, but the food doesn't even resemble Japanese food. The ramen does not contain the right ramen noodles. The omu rice is not made with Japanese rice. The ebu tempura seems to be bought ready-made. And I can go on like this. Sympathetic service, that's not the problem.

Tonight we took two de Luxe menus, the Sushi and the Teppanyaki menu. It was very extensive, fresh ingredients, beautifully served and very tasty. Very friendly service and the prices were also OK for Maastricht. Highly recommended.

Eaten well and inexpensively. Went here on a Saturday evening around 5 p.m. because we wanted to eat ramen noodles. We also enjoyed these. The portion was large and at €12 per bowl it was ok.

Good and tasty Ramen, very friendly service and very pleasant, no reservations, but a place was arranged on Friday evening.

The food is good considering the price point. We've been there before and the other times we actually had a good experience with the service. This time around, there were more people there than they could handle. They asked us whether they could first serve the warm dishes and then the cold dishes, or that we had to wait a while. We indicated that we preferred to have the cold dishes first and did not mind waiting. Then we got the warm fish first anyway and then the cold dishes. No problem by itself. However we got the accompanying rice bowl when all was finished. None of us felt like eating a bowl of dry rice and when we made a remark on that, we were met with indifference.

I have eaten here a number of times now, with many different friends (also fussy eaters)! They all agree that this restaurant is also very tasty. Everything is freshly prepared and the service is always top notch. The owner is a great woman, always in a good mood, busy or not, she puts the customers first!

The starters were good but the ramen was disgusting. I had the veggie ramen and the tofu was all crumble and soggy in my soup, I couldn’t finish my plate. My partner had the chicken ramen and it tasted exactly like chicken soup.. in sort we wouldn’t recommend. There are better places to eat ramen in Maastricht

SAVE YOUR MONEY & TIME!! After waiting for almost 2 hours we finally get our food… TERRIBLE!! Just TERRIBLE! Not even eatable.. wonton soup had zero taste, ramen was horrible, we ordered a udon… oh my… its was just blegh!! The girls that work there are nice but the food is horrible! I felt true pain paying almost 50€ to left all the food on the table because it was just not eatable..

Always have a great time at Kaishu. The food is delish, the service is great and the waiters and chefs are really nice and friendly.

We ordered the Beef Ramen and Tuna Poké Bowl. They were both so lekker and at a good price! Server was also nice!

Service war gut, Ambiente war toll. Das Essen war jedoch leider gar nicht meins. Die Ramen waren sehr wässrig, haben für meinen Geschmack überhaupt nichts mit traditionellen Ramen zutun. Das Ei war leider auch komplett hartgekocht.

Heb om 19.00 uur gereserveerd met mijn dochtertje.zij had al drie keer gegeten en toen kreeg ik mijn eten pas.ik had vooraf sushi besteld maar na een uur en een kwartier gewacht te hebben ben ik maar gaan betalen .ben maar naar KFC gegaan .eten was ook niet geweldig.Voor ons dus NOOIT meer.zonde van mijn dochtertje van 12 die zich er al een maand op verheugd had.

Heerlijk gegeten. Zijn heel wat all you can eat sushi gewend maar dit is toch een stuk beter! Gezellig, vriendelijk en snel je gerecht op tafel met uitstekende kwaliteit. Restaurant zat voor ons gevoel op een vreemde plek (wij waren er niet in het hoogseizoen), maar blij dat we deze gevonden hebben.

Voor de eerste keer geweest eigenlijk. Het zit verstopt in het mooie jodenstraat vlak naast het VVVkantoor. Snelle service, lekker eten en alles super vers. Ik was met mijn 2 dochters en hebben hier een heerlijke lunch gehad.. komen hier zeer zeker terug

Het was heel druk en de keuken kon blijkbaar niet volgen. Wel lekker en goede prijs kwaliteit.
