Me and my husband Had the most lovely morning here! The staff was so friendly and the cats are all so nice and well taken care of!! Tiny the Cat decided to take a nap on my jacket and it was the highlight of my day!!!

A very basic but cute and well-kept brunch/bar, with sofas and chairs where the cats roam free. The owner is very welcoming, and the cats are beautiful. We stumbled upon it by chance, and the cats in the window invited us in :-)

The place is very cozy, and the lady who runs it is incredibly kind and welcoming. There are about seven or eight cats who aren't particularly playful; they love to sleep, but they're there all day with other people, which is understandable. The food and drinks are very good. It's a truly pleasant break from the everyday. If you're in the Amsterdam area, it's a really nice place to stop by. However, be sure to book in advance, as places fill up very quickly, especially during peak season.

Such a lovely place! I made friends with this sweet one-eyed old lady ❤️ Lots of different cats here, from playful to goofy to sleepy 😊 Staff are lovely and there's lots of different food/drinks available. It's also a very cosy spot, only ten people allowed at a time which is the perfect amount. Make sure to book in advance!

I think the idea is really cute, but unfortunately it's not centrally located. My boyfriend and I drove half an hour from the city center only to be told that we had to make a reservation and pay an entrance fee. I understand that, of course, and it was also mentioned on their website, but it was all in Dutch.

For those who are in Amsterdam and love cats this is a stage that should not be skipped, the girl who welcomed us very nice, drinking a cappuccino or hot chocolate while the cats approached or taking a nap. When I get back to Amsterdam I'll go there again

One of two "must do" activities for cat lovers visiting Amsterdam. The other being the cat museum, that also has a couple of resident cats. Obviously it's not a petting zoo and you're entering their home. It's a nice way to spend some time in the company of around 7 cats, whilst enjoying coffee and a cake.

Book in advance. Place holds up to 10 humans at one go. Cats are rescues from the shelter.

Clean place. The staff welcomed us and explained the “rules” to us. The menu was quite complete. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. The cats were wonderful. They also had nice gift options and souvenirs – I bought a tote bag with the cats on it.

I have been to some cat cafes before and this one was a bit weird organisation-wise. I made a reservation, which seemed completely normal in this type of place, but when I arrived I was surprised to see other people waiting outside. It turned out that we all were coming for the same timeslot, and when everyone from the previous timeslot left, we were invited in, with house rules intro at the beginning. Because of that it felt more like some scheduled event, rather than a visit in the cafe. And as it was mentioned in previous comments, 6 euro entrance fee, which is more that the coffee itself, is a bit too much to make this place my regular spot. Plus for the yummy coffee and lovely entertaining interior for the cats.

I had come to this cafe to celebrate my 19th birthday. It was December 2019! I have such a fond memory of this place and of this city

The lovely staff member welcomed us and explained how everything works and even introduced us to the cats. The cats were quite sleepy but some came up to us and wanted to play, some wanted pets and others were just chill. It’s the perfect spot for a slow and relaxing morning, the coffee was very good and the food very tasty.

A super fun cat café. The cats look well cared for. The tea and cookies taste great. Bought two cute cat keychains. And left a donation. I'll definitely be back. The only drawback is that they work with a time slot. I wasn't familiar with that. I arrived unannounced (I hadn't read up on it myself). So, a tip... check their website first. One thing I thought (is it really necessary?) Cheap disinfectant gel in a jar. It's been proven that it doesn't work. False sense of security for cats and humans. Please stop using disinfectant gel. If you really want to disinfect, use Dethol Professional. Or hospital soap.

Traveled far to get here to be told we needed a reservation which Google does not state. I wish I would've viewed the website first but let's be honest, who cares about the website when Google shows everything you need to know? I just wanted to pet a cat and drink some coffee while out of the country and away from my pets. Hopefully this will keep people from going through what I did but also I didn't care to look for bad reviews lol.

The cats are great, beautiful and resting relaxed. The food is delicious and the service is good. However, we were annoyed that every time we wanted to pet a cat, the waitress came and discouraged us from petting (the cat is resting, the cat does not like being petted, cats need peace...). We visit Catcaffe in every European city, this time we left the place early for the first time.

21+ for admission. Reservations are required, and unfortunately, admission is not available for children who need it most.

Cat Café Kopjes: Where the coffee is okay, but the cats steal your heart (and your pie) A visit to Cat Café Kopjes is an adventure. The coffee? Excellent. The atmosphere? Cozy. The chance of a cat jumping onto your lap uninvited and then claiming your apple pie? *100%*. This is the only place where "I was interrupted by a cat" is a valid excuse. The cats are clearly in charge here, and that's precisely what makes it so charming. Stars: 4/5 (but only because the cats were looking at me while I was typing this). **Conclusion:** Come for the cats, stay because there's a furry dictator sleeping on your legs. 🐱☕

A really great place! The cat café is run by incredibly sweet people, the food is delicious, and the cats are so sweet and adorable. They're very calm and create a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Keep in mind that there's a €6 entrance fee per person. I recommend booking in advance, because without one, there's a good chance there won't be a spot.

The food and drinks were delicious. The service was also friendly. Unfortunately, I find the space a bit small for seven cats. There are no suitable places to retreat, and the cats are constantly exposed to noise as soon as guests are inside. I think it would be cool if guests were only allowed to whisper. A half-hour break before new guests arrive isn't enough time for the cats to rest and relax, in my opinion. I liked the "Cat Temple" concept better (I've been to Freiburg so far) – there were two floors plus a separate room where only the cats were allowed. Another advantage of the Cat Temple was that the kitchen was separate, so the cats didn't have access to the kitchen. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case at Kopjes in Amsterdam, so the cats were also allowed on the counters where the food was prepared. Not particularly suitable for sensitive people and allergy sufferers.

Enjoyed my visit to Cat Coffee, it’s not the same as having your own cats, but still a pleasant break. I stopped in at noon when most felines were snoozing; next time I’ll aim for late afternoon or evening when they’re likely to be livelier.

We went on holiday near Amsterdam specifically to visit Katzencafé. But we couldn't get in; we should have made a reservation. Therefore, I can't rate it here, but the disappointment... continues.

I was looking for a cat café and this one came up first in my search, so I assumed it would be a good pick. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. When I arrived, I was surprised to learn there was a €6 charge per person just to sit down. I was told there were seven cats, but I only saw four and they weren’t particularly interested in people. I had hoped the cats would be friendly and playful, but most were either sleeping or sitting together at the front, not really open to being petted. It was disappointing to pay just to sit near cats that didn’t want to interact. The food and drinks were okay nothing amazing, but not bad either. All in all, it didn’t feel much like a cat café experience. Honestly, it might work better as a pastry café instead, but you might use cat café as a clickbait. For that reason, I’m giving it a 2 out of 5.

Very sweet lady, and a quiet environment. It wasn't busy when I went. The cats were sleeping so not much time for cuddling. They are very sweet though. A latte and a brownie (a bit too much caramel) but nicely prepared. A recommendation to relax for a while.

I went to the cafe at 6:08pm, the closing is at 7pm. The girl working there at first she told that they accepted just a maximum of 10 people inside, which I understood of course and just left. Just turning the corner I thought just to get a coffee to go, I came from the center and took me like 45 min. So I came back, and 3 people where just going out so I asked to go in, as there where now less than 10 people. This girl started to say that the minimum time of being inside is 30 min, and was still 45 min to the closing, she said whatever bs to excuse herself and then I just asked for a coffee to go and she said that the machine was already cleaned so she won’t do any coffee. So of course this girl was just to lazy to let me in in the first place and too lazy to even do a coffee to go, she closed the door in my face and honestly this is a really poor treat and a really bad worker.

CUTEST lil cat cafe shop. We enjoyed some carrot cake, banana bread and 2 matcha lattes. We were hanging out with the cats and enjoying some treats. The cats are playful and adorable. The cafe is doing a great thing to help care for these cats. Great staff and cute loafs 🐱

I’ve visited many cat cafés, and my favorite so far is still the one in The Hague. So I was quite excited to check out Kopjes and see how it compares. Unfortunately, I was disappointed right from the start – they charge €6 per person just to enter the café. That’s quite a lot just for being there. The space itself is cozy, but the interior feels overly designed around the 6 or 7 cats they have. We ordered cakes, cappuccino, and hot chocolate – all of it was delicious, no complaints there. But the cats… were a letdown. Most of them were on the large (fat) side and very lazy. They weren’t interested in people, movement, noise, or even toys. I don’t expect cats to be running around constantly, but I do expect a bit of interaction or curiosity. These ones seemed totally uninterested and inactive. Sadly, this café goes to the bottom of my list of cat cafés. For €6 entry, it’s just not worth it.

The cats are totally relaxed and all from animal welfare, you can also tell how the waitress knows each cat and their personality. But you definitely have to book a time slot (it says online that you can also get lucky), but if you know that it only makes sense so that everything runs smoothly for everyone. A very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere ☺️

Such a charming cafe! The barista/attendant was super friendly and really emphasizing respecting the cat’s space which I appreciated. We did some puzzles and doodles while the cats napped and played. The drinks were great and we loved getting to spend some time with some friendly cats while we’re away from our kitties traveling.

Only for cat lovers :) I recommend going with a prior reservation, otherwise you may not be able to enter. If you go with children under 12 years old, you need confirmation (it makes it very clear on their website), it is better to contact them beforehand. Admission will cost you €5 (April 2025) and does not include drinks. Inside there is a cafeteria service where you can have coffees, infusions, sweets... it is not a cheap place but taking into account the prices of Amsterdam it is not exaggerated either. The interior is a small space with some tables and a sofa that is full of cat toys, all in good condition, it is a friendly place. When we went there were seven cats (be careful with Tofu who is very skilled with his nails) and the maximum capacity is ten people. The people in charge of the place are very polite and honest. As I said, if you like cats, it is a great place to treat yourself. Note: first thing in the morning (they open at 10:00 a.m.) the cats are a bit lazy, I recommend going at noon at the earliest to find them a little more active.

It was very pleasant to be in this establishment. I really liked that the number of places is limited and it is not such a huge stress for the cats.

We booked the slots in advance per internet. The owner was very friendly and the cats were adorable. The banana bread was amazing and we loved our whole visit there. Prices are absolutely okay. You can also buy little gifts like stickers, shirts or postcards there as a present. We will definitely visit again.

I’m really disappointed with our visit to Kopjes Cat Cafe yesterday, and I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others. While we were excited to spend some quality time in a cozy atmosphere with cats, the service we received was beyond careless, and it ended up causing my friend a serious health issue. My friend ordered a coffee, but there was no offer or question about what kind of milk they wanted. They just served it with oat milk, and since my friend is severely allergic to oat milk, this mistake led to a severe allergic reaction. This could’ve been extremely dangerous, and thankfully, we were able to manage it before it got worse. It’s incredibly frustrating that a place that serves food and drinks would be so careless and fail to ask customers what type of milk they prefer or if they have any allergies. This is a basic expectation in any café, especially one that serves coffee. This lack of attention to detail is not only disappointing but dangerous. Kopjes needs to seriously rethink their service protocols. Allergies should be taken more seriously, and customers should always be asked about their preferences or restrictions. Our experience was ruined, and I’ll be thinking twice before recommending this place to anyone else. It’s such a shame because the café itself has a lot of potential, but this was a major oversight that left us shaken. Please be cautious when visiting Kopjes, and make sure to double-check your drinks before consuming them if you have any food allergies!

Such a cute visit to the local cat cafe. They’re all very shy but that’s okay because they’re very authentically cats. The little room is quaint and filled with vintage and contemporary cat decor. So much to see and explore the more you look around you. The cats appear very well taken care of and not overwhelmed. It’s best to make a reservation to assure spot amongst the cute couches. The one girl running the show while we were there was very polite. Not only do you have cute, polite cats, who are all unique, but you also have delicious pastries and hot chocolate for reasonable prices. Note also the €5 entrance fee, but it’s expected and well worth it for the care of the kitties.

Never revisit a good thing, you'll only be disappointed. From cute initiative to capitalist Amsterdam. I was there the first week, at the first cat café in the Netherlands (I thought). Today I was there again, we were not allowed to sit because it was fully reserved. I asked if we could sit in the front area. That was allowed, but since we didn't pay the entrance fee, we weren't allowed to touch the cats. With one look we decided at that moment that we would never come back here again.

Was a fun time, a few of the cats were playful and the little tiny cat sat next us and allowed us to pet it. The drinks were good too.

I really enjoyed my stay at the cafe. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food, reasonable prices. Everything was overall good. We were lucky that the 6 cats were very active at that time but even if they hadn't been, that's not under your control. I really liked that the staff established the rules of not forcing the cats to be pet or annoy them if they obviously don't want to be touched. I've been to other cat cafes but this one was really my favorite, the smaller space allowed everyone to have a good experience and the cats to not get stressed. 10/10 can recommend!

Very cute cats. But bare in mind they are cats, they do what they want, when they want, so don't have high expectations that they will want to be super playful. When i went, some of them played a bit, the others just wanted to sleep. But it is understandable, considering the amount of people that want to pet them all day long 😀

Every time I visit a new city I make sure to stop by at the local cat cafe. Something about this cafe felt different than others, in the best way. It was very clean, the cats seemed very happy and relaxed, and the owner just seemed to have everything together. The owner was super friendly, she made everything to order and the food/tea was perfect. If I lived in Amsterdam I would love to come here to work/study, and I highly recommend anyone who is a cat lover to visit.

This place is such a gem! When I lived in the area I would go frequently to hang out with the cats and enjoy a coffee and a treat. The cats are super cute and sweet and despite the fact that they are usually resting it’s nice to just relax there with them. Some are a bit more playful and that’s always fun too. There’s lots of toys for the cats and structures for them to climb, hide, and sleep in. I especially love the decor here. Everything is cat themed and so well thought out. In addition, they have a variety of cat themed games, books, etc. On top of all of that, they have delicious coffee, cakes, and other yummy snacks to eat while you chill with the cats. All of the employees are friendly and do a great job of explaining how to interact properly with the cats. I always have such a lovely time here. I highly recommend taking a visit to Kattencafé Kopjes if you’re in the area and you love cats!

Staff is very friendly, place is cozy. The cats didnt seem to be very cuddly, but thats to be expected of cats. It is not very budget friendly, but the food and drinks are homemade and tasty.

Delicious coffee and cake here, and the hostess is really nice. The cats are very sweet. One of them played so much he kept falling asleep, but he came back every time someone waved a toy. Too precious!

I came 200 miles to see this silly orange cat and he was so silly indeed. Such a cute little place, adorable residents, they look they’re living very idyllically <3
