Kavos Winebar-Restaurant in Wijk 09 Leidsche Rijn

Een leuk restaurant met een goede sfeer en een goede kwaliteit eten. Daar is niets op aan te merken, maar als je voor ruim € 150 heb gegeten en je ziet dat op de rekening bij een glaasje witte wijn van € 6,50 voor een glas kraanwater € 0,50 is berekend dan vraag ik me af of Kavos begrijpt wat echte service is.

There are arrogant staff. Maybe that's because I was with my kids? I'm not going to say here that I'm a foreigner because you'll soon notice. We were there at 11:50 am. - She asked can I help you ladies?  Screaming. -I immediately said oh yes, can I have the menu? -No she said because the kitchen is only open at 12:00. (For next time, just say so. Oh yes, but I can only take the order at 12:00...) I asked if she had a babyccino. - She said no. -Okay, then you have milk foam. -She said I'm going to see what I can do for you. As if I was asking for something very special. In the end I didn't order any food because it was a bit later for my children Yes, the bill... (I had a latte and babyccino) €6.95. I asked the price of the babyccino oh no they don't have that.... I asked the price for the milk foam and it is a small copy of milk foam €3! Well, I've never paid that much For a babyccino, oh no... milk foam. It didn't even have a cookie or a saucer with a spoon. And then I asked why is it so expensive. And the answer was - yes, the Corona, right? (Hello, should I solve the problems now?) I had just been there and I had to report here because I don't think something like that is possible. I have never experienced such unfriendly staff. But fortunately too!

Went to dinner with friends last night. It was delicious!! Starter, main course and dessert. Staff very friendly and so is the owner. We will definitely eat here again.

We have been to Kavos several times and we have never had anything less than delicious. Their food is amazing. Real highlight on the sushi starter, the lamb shank and the baklava cheesecake.

We ate here at Christmas. Had to wait more than an hour for the main course. Food was tasty, but very sparse, or very small portions. And they charge €7 extra for a bit of tzaziki. The Greek atmosphere is missing and that is also reflected in the food, unfortunately.

Even though they don't have vegan dishes on the menu they made a super cauliflower vegan dish on request.

Normally I'm not a fan of Greek food but everything we ate here was very tasty. Mix of starters were all tasty and so was the mixed grill. Great restaurant!

Tonight the six of us had a delicious meal in a cozy atmosphere. Food arrived quickly and service was very friendly. Finally, we received an ouzo on the house because our daughter had obtained her Master's degree. Great tent!!

Nice wine, the 4 of us had 2 wines each. However, while the place is still half full, you are asked 10 times in half an hour if you want anything else. And the bill is already brought to you even though you don't ask for it. And 5 minutes later a waiter asks again if we want to pay yet. When we indicate that we have already received the bill, he pretends as if he has never seen the folder containing the bill, while afterwards he clearly directs other waiters. Very pushy trying to get you away. I don't really understand why you are so customer unfriendly, while there is still plenty of room. I now remember that waiter better than the wine.... We will probably go to a nicer wine bar in the future.

We chose the Kavos terrace for lunch. My girlfriend knows the place and had eaten here before On the lunch menu I chose Ba-avo-Chicken dish. My friend v/ d pitta chicken Although my dish (chicken) tasted delicious, the ratio between bread and chicken was not ok, especially compared to the pita chicken. And the service at first was friendly. Then we got a waiter who was far too close at hand and full of himself. Very unfortunate to end a lunch like this. The waiter's behavior now remains as the last memory....

As always, we had a delicious meal with our family. The sushi gyros and beef chimichurri are really delicious!!! They also always take my daughter's cow's milk allergy into account very carefully!

The reception was a bit cold, we were ignored by the waiter when we tried to ask if the outdoor table was free, after no response we sat, then she came to say it was reserved, we had to ask further to know that we could sit inside without reservation. The atmosphere was good, table intensity was a bit tight where we sat, the waiters bent over us to serve the adjacent table. A little fan could add a bit of fresh oxygen. All the above was forgotten when we tasted the food, the mix grill was outstanding, with a less rosemary it would be wow. Finally they served the dessert wine in a very tiny almost over flowing glass, they changed it later on very friendly. Prices are reasonable for the food quality In general it was a good experience. The food was fantastic! We got the mixed grill platter I love that they didn't over cook it, with some starters and it was really tasty. The tzatziki is a must. The atmosphere was just wonderful. And a citrusy cocktail to finish off. I totally recommend this place.

Heerlijk temperatuurtje, daarom kozen mijn vrouw en ik 24 augustus voor een plekje op het terras. Vlotte bediening! Vrij snel kwamen de gerechten door: filleto: ossenhaas met uienstoof en sjalotjes met overheerlijke saus. Ik koos voor de Royal mix: sappige ossenhaas, kipfilet en 2 lamsracks. Goede, niet te zoute frietjes (wel eens anders meegemaakt) . Goede Chardonnay. Een enorme stortbui dwong ons om binnen een plekje te zoeken; daarbij geholpen door attent personeel. Persoonlijke aandacht van de eigenares! Missen we nog iets? Ja, helaas geen garides saganaki ( garnaaltjes in pittige tomatensaus) . Zou een goede toevoeging zijn als voorgerecht! Voor de liefhebbers van de Griekse keuken is Kavos in Leidse Rijn Centrum een dikke aanrader.

Gisteravond met drie vriendinnen hier wezen eten. Wat een gezellig en zeer sfeervol restaurant. Ondanks de drukte was men zeer alert. Wij hebben ontzettend lekker gegeten. Aanrader: als het voorgerecht: gyros sushi! Erg hartelijk personeel waardoor het echt een heerlijk avondje uit werd. Efcharisto poli.

I was here about a week ago. I searched for the Scroppino cocktail. I looked online to see if there was a drinks menu, but there isn't one. I called the business to ask if they sell cocktails and if so, which cocktails. The owner answered and told me to look at the site. I indicated that I had already done that and that there was nothing on the site. The owner indicated that it was on the site. I went to look again, but I didn't find a drinks menu the second time either. So I called again to ask which cocktails they sell. The owner first sighed and then told us in an irritated tone what cocktails they have. They have the cocktail I was looking for, he said. Once I got there and asked about a Scroppino, they didn't have one. I indicated that I had called in the afternoon and was told that they did have them. 3 people came up to me to ask which cocktail I meant. In the end it was said that they don't have it, but they can make it. When I had the cocktail, it didn't taste at all like I expected it to. The bottom layer of the cocktail was made with champagne, it didn't taste like how a Scroppino should taste, unfortunately. I also ordered a cheesecake (which is also not on the menu, but apparently they can still make it), which was mediocre. They asked €9 for that. In addition, it was not a dot like what you normally get, but a small ball? The other cocktails, on the other hand, were tasty. All in all it was unfortunately not as I expected and I don't think I will come back again. The staff themselves were friendly. Of course I can't comment on the other food/drinks as I didn't order them.

Comer en Kavos fue una experiencia tan agradable tanto que regresamos espontáneamente al día siguiente . . nos dieron una cálida bienvenida, sentados y servidos por el personal de espera cuando llegamos. Y aunque el restaurante estaba lleno en ambas ocasiones tuvieron tiempo para una pequeña charla amigable y tuvieron todo servido de manera oportuna y eficiente. Entre medias las peticiones fueron atendidas con una sonrisa y atendidas con prontitud. Ustedes hacen un gran trabajo. Ahora vamos a la parte de la comida. La comida era excelente, es difícil encontrar un buen restaurante griego en los Países Bajos, pero este es excelente. . estamos sentados frente a la cocina abierta y fue un placer ver lo bien organizado, eficiente y libre de estrés que el personal de la cocina estamos asando toneladas de carne y armando las bandejas más hermosas de comida para fiestas más grandes. . pedimos los calamares y tacos de atún como aperitivos. . y cordero, el plato de parrilla mixta y pollo a la parrilla como principal. . se sirvieron con bulgur, tzatziki y papas fritas. Las carnes eran deliciosas con un hermoso sabor a parrilla carbonizada e incluso el pollo era tierno y jugoso. La zona es hermosa y acogedora en la zona de Leidsche Rijn de Utrecht. No vivimos en Utrecht pero no nos importa viajar por esta joya. Es un must try. Gracias chicos.

My impression was very good. We were kindly received. The decor was nice and cozy, the couch was very soft and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and explained well what the dishes and drinks contained. The dishes were really of quality and delicious, scallops really recommended and taco tuna 🌮. The cocktail drinks were served in a fun and beautiful way, classic but also with plenty of choices outside the menu. This was certainly not the last time. In one word great! Until next time!

One of the best and most reliable restaurants in the Netherlands!!! Unique and special tastes, very beautiful dishes with a careful setting and of course the service is impeccable!!! The experience is worth it...try it!!!

Top restaurant, but not a wine bar.

waited for our order for over half an hour and then realised they didn’t put it in the system 😟 besides that, everything else was great! food was delicious

Modernly decorated restaurant with a modern Greek menu. Because we couldn't choose which starters we wanted to order, we ordered a platter with a combination of cold and warm starters. We had a platter for 2 people, but it was big enough for 4. The main courses all looked neatly presented and appetizing. The fish was well fried, but the sauce served with it was a bit on the buttery side and not really typically Greek. The mixed grill, on the other hand, screamed Greece with a combination of gyros, souvlaki and even more delicious meat and tzarziki. Portion was generous and meat was well grilled and at the same time very juicy and tender. After the extensive starter and main we had no room for dessert.

Owner acts friendly but is very made, conclusion not a nice woman! We received 1 small bowl of fries for 3 people, which we ordered for 5 euros per bowl, what a scam!! No lettuce with main course... never, never again, there are much better Greeks in the area!

Voor onze bruiloft zijn we met familie gaan lunchen. Ze hadden zichzelf overtroffen. De feestelijk gedekte tafels, het heerlijke eten, de bediening waarvoor niets teveel is. Het werd een onvergetelijke dag! We zijn het team bijzonder dankbaar!

Had dinner from the menu with a large group. All different dishes, 3 courses. Excellent food and served quickly and simultaneously. Compliments to the kitchen and waiting staff. A very good and pleasant experience. Worth repeating.

This is our favorite restaurant in Leidsche Rijn! Never disappoints: we often have the gyros sushi as a starter (tip to share it together) and the sirloin steak as a main course, both incredibly tasty! The sirloin steak is slightly different than most restaurants, with a kind of onion sauce, which is incredibly tasty. The service is always top notch, there are always enough staff and friendly service. And good price quality.

What a great restaurant! Delicious juicy and tender meat, delicious fish (mussels 😍), good fries, tasty food, etc... Service is always very helpful and polite. I have never had such a good meal at a Greek restaurant before. We now come there regularly and drive 40 minutes by car. A small point I think is that the last time during the live music, the music was very loud. If you are sitting at a long table with a large group of people, it is somewhat difficult to communicate. But the delicious food makes up for that. Had a somewhat bad experience once, but there was little the service or the restaurant itself could do about it. Good tasty food! Cozy atmosphere and nice service.

Ate here yesterday after a recommendation. Very good! Really tasty dishes and great taste! Also looks nice on the plate. The service was also very attentive! Came to bring something to taste from the kitchen of a dish we had talked about. At the right time we were asked if we wanted something to drink. Very friendly owner and chef too! The only minor downside was that it was a bit too cold in the store, but that is almost impossible to get right now with -4. The music could have been a little louder because you now only heard a rhythm above the chatter of people and therefore missed some atmosphere. Had one of the best experiences in Utrecht recently! Just cycle over the bridge to Leidscherijn! It's so worth it!

A charming restaurant for Greek food with a twist. We ordered a board with various small dishes outside the menu, as shown in the photo. We enjoyed this wonderfully with a delicious glass of red wine. And not to forget, the perfect service and hospitality of the staff made the visit complete.

Once again we had a delicious meal at Kavos. The two of us took the Kavos board. That was more than enough. Nice variety of dishes and very tasty. Highly recommended. The small fried squid is also recommended.

There was a bit of a mix-up with the order but they were very kind and apologetic about it. The food was very tasty, flavourful and divers. The cocktails were great, packing a punch, but very sweet as well! I enjoyed eating here with my partner, but it was a bit busy. You could see the servers and kitchen were struggling, the atmosphere is great but the acoustics was terrible.

We eten graag bij Kavos, ter plaatse of afhalen allebei heerlijk. Sfeervol en gezellig restaurant, voelt altijd als een warm welkom wanneer je naar binnen loopt. Personeel is vriendelijk en gastvrij.

Mijn favoriete restaurant op het moment. De beef taco’s als voorgerecht zijn echt heerlijk. Daarnaast kan mijn vriend maar niet stoppen met praten over de gyros sushi, hij zegt dat de gyros door een soort sausje zo lekker is en dat de sushi en tzatziki daar weer verfrissend bij passen. De sfeer is daarnaast ook echt enorm gezellig met behulpzaam personeel. Als hoofdgerecht is de ossenhaas of ribeye met tafelservice een enorme aanrader maar de mixed grill is ook echt enorm lekker. Maar het hoogtepunt blijft de gyros sushi.

Leuke moderne uitvoering van de traditionele Griekse keuken. Het voorgerecht met allerlei gecombineerde gerechtjes is een grote aanrader. Lekker en meer dan voldoende.

De beste moderne griek in Utrecht

Verrassend leuk Grieks restaurant. Vaak is de presentatie van gerechten onderbelicht in Griekse restaurants, maar hier niet. Echt positief verrast, ook qua inrichting en sfeer. Vriendelijk personeel bovendien. Verbeterpunt is de open keuken / gebrekkige afzuiging. In het restaurant merk je het niet, maar eenmaal thuis kan je kleding direct in de was.

Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten! De service was erg goed. Het personeel is vriendelijk en erg gastvrij. Zeker een dikke aanrader. Bedankt

De gyros sushi is echt een aanrader die is echt heel erg lekker. We hebben de gyros schotel erna gegeten en het vlees was ook lekker. Alles kwam super snel en het personeel was erg aardig. Snel een nieuw drankje opnemen en de deserts. Erg fijn. Wij gaan hier zeker vaker komen!

Beautiful location . Absolutely does not exude the often old-fashioned atmosphere of a Greek restaurant, but an interior of this time. The lunch was delicious and the service excellent.

De naam is misleidend. Wij dachten dat er alleen wijn geschonken werd maar nu blijkt het een restaurant te zijn. Zeer smakelijk gegeten. Niet traditioneel Grieks maar net een beetje extra en moderner. Lieve bediening. Kortom een fijn restaurant.

Had a great meal with our family. Compliments to everyone who works there. All the food we ordered was top notch!!!!! What lovely owners, so attentive. All in all; Very good food! No long waiting times, just as it should be. Friendly people!! And not expensive. WE WILL COME EAT MORE OFTEN!!!!! IT WAS COZY!!! Kid-friendliness: Are very willing to adjust smaller quantity for children. Fine highchairs are available, so that you can enjoy a nice meal at the table. Parking: Enough parking.

Gisteren daar gegeten met echtgenote dochter en schoonzoon. Een fantastische avond, alles klopt kwaliteit van het opgediende eten was super. Zeer goede vriendelijke bediening. Tenslotte was de prijs kwaliteit ook een aangename verassing. Uitgebreid gegeten met voorgerechten en koffie en een persoon ijs na voor 180 euro Kortom een aanrader , je krijgt er geen spijt van.

A friend of us recommend to come here and try out the Gyros-Sushi, which sounded interesting enough! The inside of the restaurant I found very well decorated and had a cosy but modern atmosphere. Service was good, was interesting to see some of the staff sitting down and just having a conversation with some (probably) regulars. The Gyros-Sushi was really good! Really recommend. The other greek dishes were also great in taste and what you expect from a Greek restaurant, but the portions were very large and meaty, not for everyone perhaps. If you have a starter be mindful you might not finish your main dish if you take more gyros or a grill dish.
