We dined here on Boxing Day. Even though I'd booked the wrong day, luckily they still managed to find us a table. The staff were incredibly kind and the food was excellent! They were very considerate of my wife's pregnancy without us even asking. It was incredibly polite and respectful. My wife was very impressed, so I can only give it a perfect 10. We chose the Christmas menu, which was truly delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed it! Highly recommended!

A village restaurant with a beautiful, authentic atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately, it wasn't as positive as many others about the food. I had a vegetarian three-course meal when we came to dinner with a large group. It was very disappointing, unfortunately. The non-vegetarians thankfully enjoyed their food, but the few vegetarians really struggled to scoop the crunchy leek mush out of the avocado and ate the wrap with the equally unappetizing (ready-made?) filling. Such a shame, because it's apparently perfectly fine for meat-eaters, and the atmosphere is nice and cozy, but it was truly disappointing. We can't comment on that because we were invited, so we were, of course, polite and courteous so as not to offend the hosts. COOK'S TIP: There are so many good vegetarian cookbooks these days. If we can prepare fantastic vegetarian dishes at home with the help of Ottolenghi or Veggilaine (and the many other high-quality vegetarian cookbooks available), we should definitely be able to do it as a professional. With a little more interest and passion, the chef can certainly do more than what we now taste with these shoddy dishes from times gone by.
