Had a wonderful breakfast. The coffee was excellent, but the food was especially delicious.

Great food and exceptional service

My wife and I had our flight delayed on a snowy afternoon and it was the perfect place to shelter the weather with great food and friendly hospitality. You feel like you’re at someone’s house and the food backs it up. I had the eggs and my wife the steak sandwich. The portions were generous and carefully made.

The scrambled eggs were rather mushy. The hash brown was great.

So darn good. Im baffled how they get the eggs so fluffy. Burger was my fav so far in Amsterdam as well

Delicious breakfast and very generous portions. Even though there was no electricity and they were missing some items, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout. It's wonderful to find places where, even with unexpected issues, you're treated so well. Highly recommended.

Delicious food! I had Skagen toast (shrimp bread) and my mother had a Nicoise salad with smoked salmon (not the supermarket kind, but freshly smoked). Both were excellent, and the cappuccino afterward was also excellent! The complaint in another review that the coffee is too bitter is untrue; that's just an American used to weak coffee. The coffee is excellent👌 We arrived around 2:30, there was a table, and the food was served very quickly. The service was excellent, although you sometimes have to get someone's attention if you want to order something extra. We'll be back!

Extremely slow, the staff is uninterested, and above all, they don't pay much attention to the customer. Too expensive for what you get! Don't go there, it's a tourist trap.

Good brunch but not memorable, so it felt a little overpriced. I paid €27 for eggs, toast, a side of avocado, coffee and OJ.

Solid experience here, with good food and nice atmosphere. Appreciated the touches such as the branded plates. Service was a little slow but I wasn’t in a rush so it didn’t bother me. Staff were friendly and accommodating of my peanut allergy

We had a delicious breakfast here. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. One tip for the staff: serve the cappuccino right away. We had to wait a bit for our food, of course, and would have appreciated a drink beforehand.

Right in the heart of the tourist zone, Kessens is a nice place to take a break while exploring Amsterdam. Dishes were on the smaller side — don’t expect to get full on one plate. Flavors were decent across the board. Service was quick and friendly, which made the experience smoother. The Burrata Salad was the highlight: fresh, flavorful, and nicely plated. The steak sandwich was our least favorite. Good stop if you’re in the area and want a light bite in a calm setting. 👍 Helpful? Tap that like.

What an amazing breakfast and lunch venue, we stumbled upon this place while on vacation from the USA. We have been here every morning since we found it. The food is absolutely amazing. We had never had such delicious breakfast meals like this before. OMG ! The coffee and OJ is so fresh., you have to try the crepes and blueberries, Yum!.

Every time I'm in the Netherlands, I have a go at traditional Dutch food. This time we tried this place as it was highly ranked and seemed to have slightly different angle. However, also this time I can conclude that I simply don't get the Dutch kitchen. To me it ranges from relatively tasteless to outright disgusting. I will give this place 3 stars as the food was presented in a nice way and in comparison to other meals I've had before, it was better.

The food was all delicious. But the coffee was bitter, I wouldn’t recommend it. Very polite staff, but for some reason they seat you at less comfortable tables, although there are seats and they are free for an hour.

The truffle soft-boiled egg is really delicious. The hot tea can be refilled. It is also great to eat alone. The boss is very friendly.

Arriving around 1 PM, we found the restaurant quite busy. Despite this, our group of six was fortunate enough to secure a table. The staff was incredibly accommodating and, understanding our time constraints, recommended menu items that could be prepared quickly. The food was absolutely delicious. Our table ordered a variety of entrées from the full menu, and everyone was impressed. I can confidently say this is a solid choice for anyone in the area.

Happy hour from Monday to Friday in the afternoon until 17:00. Aperol Sprits is €8,50 and you get a nice full glass with little ice!

I liked this place, the waitress who took the order was nice and the food was delicious. But 20 minutes before closing time, another waiter took my tea (which was almost gone, but he could have asked) and asked if I wanted anything else, adding that they were closing soon. I said no, paid the bill and left the cafe with an unpleasant feeling

Place is cute but charging 3€ for extra canned avocado is excessive. They should include it in the dish or charge apart for a freshly cut.

Very long wait (almost 1 hour after ordering). The dishes are not served together for a table of two (the standard in catering). They are clearly understaffed in the kitchen. At least it was good and fresh. We will help them by giving only two stars.

Because I'm staying at a nearby hotel, I get a 10% discount by showing my room card. Came here for breakfast in the morning. There was no one there when it opened. I ordered Runny eggs with truffle cream and it was delicious.

We enjoyed the delicious croquettes from Holtkamp. It was very pleasant and great service as always.

The area where this place is located is fun and vibrant, so this adds to the ambiance and experience. nice place, but, there is a "je ne sais quoi" missing, either trying to hard or something, I did not get. Food wise it's OK, the toast with smashed avocado, salmon and soft boiled egg seemed to be on a lot of plates around, but something was also missing to elevate the overall taste - or the avocado was a bit watery-ish. Price range, it's Amsterdam prices, bit (too) high.

Really lovely place for brunch/lunch. The food and service was great. The only drawback for me was the lack of gluten free bread. I really appreciated that they messaged me in advance to advise me of this, but I wish places would just offer a basic gluten free bread for intolerant folks like me, even if they cannot guarantee a full gluten free kitchen for those who are allergic or celiac.

Superb address, an original croc monsieur which is worth the detour. Too bad about the frozen fries but otherwise very good!
