It was fine, not everything regarding lunch was to my taste. The staff was friendly though.

A very nice restaurant with a simple yet charming atmosphere, and a wide selection of food and drinks. The terrace offers sun protection and an open kitchen. Reservations are recommended for lunch as it's usually very busy. We've stayed here several times on holiday and have never been disappointed.

The food and price are very good. The concept also really appealed to us. We were allowed to pick out a nice spot right away, and were served well.

It is a beautiful place; the parking lot is a hundred meters from where you eat, so there is no car noise. The restaurant is situated amidst old monumental buildings that used to be a clinic. We enjoyed sitting outside with plenty of parasols. Exceptionally friendly service!! And why do you go to a restaurant.... for the food!!! Well, that was truly top-notch; beautiful to look at but certainly just as delicious to eat. Wonderful aromas, unusual ingredients like balsamic balls, hard seeds that I couldn't quite identify, etc. Wonderful flavor combinations!!! Top-notch!! I think it is star-worthy!!

Enjoyed high tea with many cups. First the savory variety and later, at your leisure, the sweet. Both delicious. Reservations are required for the high tea. They make it a truly delightful experience.

Wow, what a tasty minced meat sandwich! I am often in America where they have these muffins too, but I don't come across them in the Netherlands in this quality. Don't take this delicious minced meat off the menu, and I'll be back soon.

Had delicious Eggs Benedict! Homemade brioche, home-smoked salmon on top, lovely hollandaise sauce, a little salad: de-li-ble-ble!! Top chefs and top service, very nice.

Unfortunately, the food, the lunch the last 3 times, has been below par. The very first time I ordered lunch there, the hummus sandwich with the soup of the day was exceptionally good, generously filled and the soup well-filled. The last few times, there was barely any hummus on the sandwich, and yesterday the asparagus soup was also minimal in content and, moreover, watery. And for which you still have to pay a considerably high amount. I'm actually done with it. A shame! Because the place and staff are fine.

Absolutely amazing food… from beginning to end, these guys deserve a Michelin star!! Truly delicious food. We have been coming here for years, but this latest menu surpasses all previous ones. Delicious food!! And as always, beautifully presented. Forgot to take photos of the main course. These were the desserts. My English husband had a whipped cream truffle for the first time, a giant truffle!! All amazing. Esmé served us wonderfully 🥰

On a stormy Saturday evening, we enjoyed a high wine with friends at Keuken met karakter. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented, with excellent wine and food pairings. Super friendly service and plenty of time between courses. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back! Unfortunately, the second time wasn't as good, but the food is still delicious and it's fun to watch the chef in action in the open kitchen. However, we were seated in a remote corner, and the staff preferred to stand together rather than be attentive to the guests. We often had to wait a long time to order drinks.

We would never have come to your restaurant if it weren't for my brother and his band playing at the Cultuurkoepel on May 3rd, and me treating two friends to his performance for our birthdays, which we celebrate every year with a dinner or event. We chose Keuken Met Karakter, also located on the Nijenburg estate, for our dinner. Truly... what incredibly warm and friendly staff! And the food... it's not around the corner for us, but we'll happily drive to Heiloo again for you. What beautiful plates we were served, and the food was delicious! A bit of a hidden gem in Heiloo, but really nice. The presentation of the dishes is very surprising and appealing, the taste is good, the menu is a bit smaller (than usual), and the service is okay. (Tip: it sometimes took a bit too long to get there...) Tip for guests: that bottle of red wine with Braille on the label = top!

Er werken (ook) mensen met een (psychiatrisch) “rugzakje”; een heel mooie integratie! De bediening is zorgzaam en vriendelijk en als er iets niet helemaal goed gegaan is (toch vlees in een gerecht dat ook vegetarisch kon en zo was besteld) wordt het supersnel opgelost. Restaurant situated in a beautiful location. Here is a great lunch and beer menu. Large terrace outside (reservation required), can also eat inside. The miso omelette was excellent in taste, ditto for the croque monsieur. Cosy interior. Smooth service.

Had lunch here twice in a short time on a Friday (in honor of Father's Day and Mother's Day). Excellent, the miso omelette, the sushi roll, fresh fries, good coffee, disarming service, lovely garden. A kind of oasis.

Ate twice and had a very pleasant experience both times. Nice location, very pleasant atmosphere and nice setting in the atmosphere of the dome. Choices from various (local) special beers also a plus. Food is really good quality for normal prices. Hopefully it will remain that way, so that the common man can continue to eat there. It's a shame that they are only open three evenings a week, which means they fill up quickly. Sometimes you feel like having a spontaneous meal there, but that's usually not possible. Service very friendly, accessible and know how to make pleasant contact with different target groups. Would love to come there again.

Vandaag 10-09-24 wilden we met zijn vieren lunchen in keuken met karakter. Daags van te voren op de website geken naar de openingstijden en zou vandaag geopend zijn. Helaas vonden wij de deur gesloten met als reden het bespreken van de nieuwe menu kaart. Het personeel toonde totaal geen begrip, want het zou dan wel op Facebook en Instagram staan en gaan daarmee voorbij aan klanten die dit niet hebben. De zeer onvriendelijke toon die hier werd gebezigd doet ons besluiten hier nooit meer te komen. Ze toonden dus duidelijk hun WARE KARAKTER.

Had a delicious meal on my birthday. True works of art on a plate. You can choose from 1, 2 or 3 courses within the context of the menu. Outside the frame you pay a little extra. I'm a small eater and 1 course would have been enough for me. But 2 went in because of the presentation and taste🥰🙏

We ordered a Soto-Ajam with crispy chicken pieces. BAH! That was disappointing. It was some kind of soup with white rice and chewy pieces of chicken. Broom salt. Also does not match the description on the card. White rice was not mentioned and I could not detect bean sprouts. And that for 16.50 !!!???!!! Immediately ate a sandwich at home because everything was digested far too quickly due to the white rice. It's a shame because with a name like that I had high expectations. If I would like to improve, I will come back again because it was fun.

Tastefully decorated with photos and old items From the former monastery where this restaurant is now located. The service is really with character. Only minus point. Our main course was quite small. But will definitely come back soon.

The restaurant is beautifully located and neatly decorated and the apple pie with whipped cream is delicious. Only service below standard this Saturday afternoon 20-01-2024; I knocked my cup of coffee over the table, pants and floor, very annoying of course. I walked to the bar with the cup and saucer under the coffee. And I asked for a cloth to wipe my pants and place. The staff are busy talking to each other and I am actually being ignored. I was not offered a new cup of coffee, I don't like the way people handled this towards me. It is a great pity that people are not attentive and involved towards their customers.

U zult versteld staat van hoe mooi u gerecht op tafel komt te staan dat het bijna zonde is op het op te eten! De bediening staat altijd voor u klaar voor vragen over de dinerkaart, vegan of eventuele vragen over allergieën! Er is altijd een alternatief in overleg met de keuken mogelijk. Ligt op een zeer mooie plek. Buiten zit je heerlijk tussen de struiken met uitzicht op het Willibrordus. Binnen is het ook gezellig en kun ook de keuken zien. Zowel de service als het eten was echt top. Een aanrader!

Misschien wel het beste restaurant van Heiloo waar je in de (eetbare) tuin meteen op vakantie bent
