Restaurant Herberg Jan in Wijk 03 Heiloo-Midden

It took a long time, we sat for two hours just to order starters, we were treated disrespectfully, and at the end we even received the wrong receipt with about €200 extra for food. I don't know if they were trying to rip us off or if this was a mistake...

We had a delicious lunch here. There was plenty of choice, including good vegetarian and vegan options. The bread tasted fresh, as did the ingredients. It was truly delicious! The service was fast, and the food was ready quickly. My only tip is to come back for drinks. It wasn't very busy, but we were only asked once if we wanted a drink, even though we finished ours quickly and were still there for a while. Otherwise, it was a very positive experience.

Definitely not what it used to be. The food is okay, but the service isn't anything to write home about. Order two satays. One comes with salad and extra sauce (garlic), which makes me wonder what that should be on. And the other plate is missing the salad and sauce... oh, sorry, I forgot. They put the food down in front of you. No, maybe I'm old-fashioned, but restaurants also have labels. So, for me, a no-go.

Great restaurant but boy oh boy did we have to wait a long time before we could order while it wasn't super busy. They were mainly busy chatting with each other, too bad!

Monday afternoon we had a lovely lunch with 3 people, Beautiful location, great service, cosy and tasty, good choices regarding food and drinks. The sun was shining so we could also sit outside. Definitely recommended, I would love to go there again.

Enjoyed a cup of coffee in the sun and a 12 hour break from Jan. Carpaccio sandwich, cup of soup and a salad. Atmosphere was relaxed and staff friendly.

After sitting at a full table for 20 minutes, someone finally walked by. I had to ask the lady in question if I could order from her. Between the sighs and bored looks, there was an opportunity for that. I placed the empty cups and saucers on the table next to me, which was also full of crockery. After another fifteen minutes the table was cleared. I spent a total of 90 minutes there and only saw someone for service twice. Truly unacceptable. The staff would rather stand behind the bar doing nothing than please their guests.

There were just too few staff to get their attention during lunch, but walking to the bar when someone was there quickly resolved that. The food was then delicious; we had the Green sandwich and the Korean sandwich.

We recently had lunch at Restaurant Herberg Jan. The restaurant offers some gluten-free options or can adapt the dishes to be gluten-free for an additional charge. However, the additional cost is quite high in relation to what you get. The sandwiches are also quite sparsely filled, which makes the apparently good price somewhat disappointing.

One young man allowed us to choose our table, so we did and sat down. When we had already been seated for 10 minutes, we were taken away under the guise that this table had been reserved. So there was no reserved sign on that table. We said that and the girl said it was occupied anyway, really bizarrely strange. in a very unpleasant way she announced that we had to move to another table even though we had reserved for inside! SO RUDE! This happened even though we had reserved online in advance. My husband had finished eating his plate was removed just fine. I was still eating, I WAS HALFWAY MY MEAL. There was half a meal on my plate and twice my plate was almost taken away without asking if I was ready yet. I've never experienced this before. Unfriendly, incompetent and ill-mannered staff walking around there. Bagger! Too bad for them but I will never go there again😡

We often have dinner here before a performance in De Beun. The restaurant has a delicious and price-friendly theater menu, where they ensure that you are ready on time.

Herberg Jan is a cozy restaurant for young and old. Fantastic dishes and friendly and knowledgeable (young) people who are your table lord/lady. Highly recommended, be surprised (just like we did :-)

Ate here with my husband and parents, it was okay, not very special and actually a bit too little. The men had the sirloin steak but that was really not enough and my mother and I had the fish salad which was tasty. We think it's very expensive for what you get. We sat next to a group that was extremely loud, which really didn't make it easy to talk to. The service took a very long time before we could order, at one point my husband had placed the blackboard with the menu in such a way that the service really walked past you so that you could take your order, after which the service came by ours several times. table. A bit disappointed next time will go to another restaurant. It is really hard to find a restaurant where you can eat well and where the service looks after you, but if you spend 150+ you should get that.

Ordered 2 latte macchiato and 1 portion of bitterballen today. 17.50! If only they were Van Dobben bitterballen with a skewer of alah. I don't know what kind of house brand this was, but what a disappointment for 8 bitterballen.

We celebrated our 12.5 year wedding anniversary in the upstairs room and it was absolutely fantastic! We had good contact in advance about the specific wishes, a very attractive room and excellent staff. We invited 60 people and - together with a band + dance floor - that was a great fit. It was also good in terms of acoustics. The stairs are less accessible for the elderly/people with reduced mobility, but there is also an elevator. The band members were allowed to use these during setup and disassembly. We enjoyed it immensely! Highly recommended!

The Vegan Salad is a huge meal that I would love to share next time. Desserts beautifully presented. It would be nice if the fries and salad were served with it. I would love to come back here. Ik ging met mijn vader en moeder en maat van mij uit eten maar mijn moeder heeft een voedselallergie. Dit had ik allemaal netjes door gegeven aan het personeel en ze zouden er een feestmaal voor me moeder van maken. Maar op de avond zelf kwamen we er achter dat ze er nog geen eens rekening mee hadden gehouden. Nu zou de jonge chef kok er toch nog iets van maken door iemand erop uit te sturen en wat eten te halen bij de supermarkt. Maar daar keek ik ook van op want kijk de lijst die ik ingeleverd had en bij de supermarkt had je een feestmaal kunnen scoren. Nu bleef het menu erg beperkt. Over de rest van het eten was het gemiddeld tot goed. Maar als je moeder er bij zit en niet lekker eet dan valt de avond erg tegen. Een les voor de volgende keer het restaurant moet aangeven dat ze geen allergie beperkingen doen of wel maar volg ze dan wel op en heb de spullen dan ook in huis.

If there are large groups celebrating something, I don't understand why you would add a small table for 2 people who had reserved. The food was good, but the place was extremely bad, so we ended up sitting outside.

Leuk pand, goede ambiance. Matig, te weinig en te duur voedsel voor de kwaliteit die je krijgt. Voor een biefstuk kun je beter naar een echte steakhouse gaan. Iemand uit ons gezelschap stuurde een bord terug naar de keuken. Bediening is aardig, maar drie kwartier wachten tussen alle gangen is wel een beetje te gortig. Ons zien ze hier niet meer terug.

We were a group of 12 people. The food was at the table almost at the same time, it was tasty, warm, looked good and it was explained with love what we got. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We were given a menu to choose from and even when we asked if we could have something else (some wanted a hamburger) this was no problem. Ultimately, no one chose the burger, but the option was there. So very flexible, they think along and nothing is too crazy. The atmosphere is pleasant. It is definitely recommended to enjoy tasty and high-quality food here.

Good food, friendly service, but quite expensive. I looked up from the bill. For example, €8.50 for a small basket of sweet potato fries and €7.50 for a bottle of Karmeliet. This is how you price yourself out of the market.

Very loud and we waited a long time for drinks and food. A starter was billed twice. A starter was specifically ordered and we wanted to share it. The billing is not clear and unfortunately the service was very unfriendly. Overall not recommended. The staff was very loud when cleaning up. In the end the lights were turned off so we could leave. We have been coming here for coffee on New Year's Day for a few years now with a group of approximately 35 family members. From 6 to 86 years. Then we take a walk and come back for lunch. Then we are all pampered. Tasty soup with sandwiches, children's menus, drinks. Excellent service, top staff. Very good! Lunch on a Saturday afternoon on the lovely terrace is also highly recommended. Tasty and fun!

Restaurant has friendly service. Parking next to shopping center with disc or after closing time without. Free Food was not great. Limited choice and price/quality not great. Fries salty. Burger was good. Other meals were disappointing.

After spending some time in the "lovers corner" on the sofa in the corner. A very attentive waiter came to us and guided us through "Jan's" menu. The lady went for the goat's cheese from the oven and when asked we were told that there was a sandwich with it, we had the feeling that we were being somewhat reprimanded. I myself went for the burger. As for the food, the fig compote was not that tasty, everything else was great. Good service and quality.

We came for a late lunch with 5 people and the dog. Our host did not seem very hospitable at first. But this was not the case at all, he was a bit surprised by my son's Feyenoord shirt. Not surprising in retrospect, it was pure provocation so close to the Afas stadium😂 The dog was immediately spoiled with a bowl of water and a cookie. The host took our order with pure cheerfulness and conviviality. The catering industry needs more of such a waiter with 100 years of experience, who still exudes so much pleasure. But perhaps it is a dying breed. The other wait staff were in at least as good spirits👌🏻The lunch tasted good and we drove home with a very satisfied feeling.

Had a nice high tea with a friend. We did miss the explanation of the high tea. With the soup they did not say what kind of soup it was, we had to ask for it. It was said during the high tea itself. However, I only had tea once and this was only checked once. We were told that we could still have coffee, but we were not asked for it again in between. Too bad.

Hoofdgerecht was niet warm, groene asperge was taai en bij de gamba's ontbrak een schaaltje met lauw water en citroen. Kijk als gastheer ook naar andere tafels als je bij een andere tafel wegloopt.

Today, Saturday was a rainy in Heiloo. We decided to have an early dinner. Good choices from the menu as well as the day’s specials. We were greeted well and took the best seats to have a good view of the kitchen, families with their children and the busy personel. I noticed there was a playroom where small kids can play. Good idea for families who want to dine with their kids. Marin hope I spelled his name correctly made it fun for small kids moving about the restaurant. My friend started with the bowl 🥣 of soup and I with the main entrée Seabass with crunchy veggies 🥗 and white asparagus. The wine 🍷 list was not complicated to choose from. It was perfect. We tried 2 different desserts 🍮 limoncello tiramisu and pavlova with raspberries and blueberries 🫐 Aimee made the service pleasant. There is quite a delay in the service but the food 🍱 is well recommended. It was worth the waiting 😋 Dining is both indoor and outdoor. The ambiance is good the bar centered in the room for the younger generation to enjoy 🥳

We were here in April for a reception, and I must say: everything was well taken care of, with regard to the snacks and drinks! The terrace was completely full. (The weather was also good) Apparently the food was also well received here. Still going to eat here.

Very nice restaurant, delicious food, the catfish was a surprise for me; I have never eaten such delicious fish in France! My great-grandson loved his Angus burger and enjoyed it until the last bite. We were also very satisfied with the friendly and smooth service.

What a wonderful place to settle down after a long bike ride and be pampered by the excellent team at Herberg Jan. I can definitely recommend the lemonades. Also nice to see that they have a good selection of alcohol-free wines, beers and cocktails. Thumbs' up!

Ik was hier al eens eerder geweest met dezelfde vrienden en toen beviel het ons erg goed. Dus een reden om terug te komen. Ik moet zeggen dat het net zo goed beviel als vorige keer. We hebben een erg gezellige avond gehad met goed eten en lekkere drankjes/cocktails. Ondanks de drukte was ook de service meer dan prima. Ze werkte keihard maar alles ging snel en verliep soepel en ze waren zeer vriendelijk. En toch krijgt het geen vijf sterren beoordeling omdat ik het voorgerecht niet fantastisch vond. Ik had vooraf het Herberg Jan plateau met allerlei verschillende dingen. De ene helft was erg lekker maar de andere helft niet zo. Dit is echt mijn enige minpunt. Verder nogmaals top! De beef bulgogi die ik als hoofdgerecht had was echt fenomenaal. En ook het dessert was echt heerlijk!
