Kicking Horse Café in Wijk 09 Geuzen- en Statenkwartier

The staff is friendly, but the bagel I had wasn't great. It's also a shame the drink didn't arrive until I was finished. The price-quality ratio is off. The bagel was 11.50, for example, and I won't be back for that.

Super friendly staff, easily accessible (even with a wheelchair, pets are also welcome). The drinks and food are prepared quickly and fresh, and are delicious.

Charges guests €1 for toilet visits. Such a lack of hospitality is not hospitality worthy.

My favorite cafe in my favorite shop! I used to prefer the log cabin style and found it more unique, but now it looks beautiful. The food is always delicious; the menu has changed many times since I was a kid, but it still offers a wide selection. The staff is friendly, just like the shop itself.

Lauwe cappuccino met een bittere smaak, prijzig, appeltaart kwam pas heel laat na nogmaals vragen waarom die niet kwam.

I've never had such bad salads. This chef absolutely doesn't know what a Caesar salad or a salmon salad is. The Caesar salad consisted of a mound of dry arugula instead of crisp iceberg lettuce, dry chicken pieces, a few tomato and cucumber slices, and an indefinable dressing. The salmon salad was also very bad. It was also a mound of arugula with a portion of tiny salmon strips, large pieces of cucumber, carrots, and what looked like zucchini, all drizzled with a huge amount of honey/dill sauce.

Third time's the charm! Today, for the third time (we stubbornly kept trying, hoping for improvement), we walked out after waiting at least fifteen minutes to order. Ordering at the counter isn't allowed; you have to order at your table. Fine, as long as someone actually comes to take your order. And those QR stickers on the table are nice for doing that, but due to a menu change, this wasn't possible. A real shame, because it's a nice place. Where is a manager visible here?

The coffee and matcha latte are not great. Very amateur.

A very cozy little cafe in The Hague. It's located in a bookstore. Inside, it's very cozy and quiet. There's a wide selection of drinks and pastries. You can also choose the size of your drink (a medium is definitely big enough). The chai latte was delicious, though quite sweet. The coffee was mediocre. I had a carrot cake, which was very large and delicious. The staff is friendly, and the food comes quickly. Definitely recommended!

A book store around the cafe provides cozy atmosphere. Bagels with spicy chicken and the carrot cake were delicious.

The coffee is just fine. The food varies, sometimes it's incredibly fresh, other times it's bone dry. The staff is friendly. The hygiene is truly terrible, especially in the coffee corner. Dirty milk jugs, cartons of milk that aren't refrigerated, dishcloths that are collecting bacteria, etc. The bar is full of dirty dishes, even though it's not that busy.

Delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and a very warm welcome. You might initially wonder if you're in the right place, but once inside, all doubts are dispelled.

The worst. The food was terrible, waited for 2 simple drinks for a very long time. The waiter (very friendly by the way) told me he wasn't told that we already ordered (we were in the cafe basically alone and there were 5 people either behind the counter or in the kitchen) Drinks were warm but he brought us ice... Ice in rose and white wine doesn't really work. Food is highly overpriced and not good at all. Waiters and waitresses are way too busy with each other. People walked away... I wanted to pay but I wasn't noticed. Had to ask 3 times and that's twice too much. And that in the lovely bookstore where actually being in the bookstore is amazing. But please please skip this Kicking Horse cafe. The Frederik Hendriklaan is full of nice places to go for lunch or a drink. Never ever again. Mu American friend was actually shocked.

You would think a café in a bookstore would be nice and quiet. Instead you get screaming kids, crumbs and dirt everywhere and slow waiters. Do not recommend.

Gelukkig is de bediening weer aan de tafeltjes, een prettige medewerkster nam de bestelling op, rekende later ook vlot af..De sfeer gemoedelijk....hoewel twee medewerksters enorm veel aandacht haden voor het koffie apparaat en niet de gasten..

Coffee was good but the good seemed meh. The avocado, feta and mint just seems thrown on it, without any idea of plating it nicely. Same goes for the tosti... atleast put a saus or some salad to make it look more appealing? The eggs (or Uitsmijter) was better! However, staff seems a bit untrained? Dont leave the table after just 1 person tells you want they want but wait for the other person too? The athmosphere is nice and coffee is good so, for that I would go back. Not for the food though.

Uitstekende bediening en kwaliteit. Midden tussen boeken en kantoor artikelen. Vaak leuke acties. Deze plek is voor ons het meest populair.

Un plato de nachos, espolvoreado con queso debajo de la parrilla + un poco de puré de aguacate / champiñones. Y eso para la cena. He estado pensando durante un tiempo en la (s) mejor (s) palabra (s) para describir la experiencia, pero solo pude llegar a la conclusión de que esta fue probablemente la peor comida que he tenido. Siempre. Una verdadera lástima, porque la librería y la cafetería juntas forman un buen lugar para pasar el tiempo.

El ambiente es bastante agradable, los pasteles también están bien. No lo recomendaría para cenar, tienen menú que cambia semanalmente y al menos la opción vegetariana ha sido realmente inaceptable, (algo de queso y algunas verduras en el horno y listo). Un par de veces estuvo muy bien, pero lamentablemente varía.

Broodje Dobermann kroket 8,50eu een belachelijke prijs. Leuk aangekleed met spul wat ik niet eet. Dan maar een gewone snackbar 2,50eu.

Heb hier na afloop heerlijke capriolen gedronken.

Trage bediening. Fijne stoelen, prima drankjes, maar ga niet eten. 'Kloosterbrood' is gewoon een sneetje bruin brood uit de supermarkt. De hamburger had voor dit bedrag best van vers gehakt gemaakt mogen worden, en ook een klef supermarktkadetje hoort niet bij een burger van meer dan €12.

Bediening is vriendelijk maar laat erg lang op zich wachten. Gerechten hebben een prachtige omschrijving doch zijn eenvoudig met een daardoor toch nog pittige prijs. Smaak en kwaliteit zijn matig. De zitjes zijn wel gezellig en comfortabel.

Cosy, good food and drinks, nice for finishing work reading a book or speaking with some friends. can get a bit crowded.

Good (Canadian?) concept to have a pleasant coffee bar like that located in a renowned bookstore like Paagman already is. Clearly this extra perk makes the store only more popular.

Het Kicking Horse café is te vinden in boekhandel Paagman op de hoek van de Frederik Hendriklaan en de Willem de Zwijgerlaan. Het is onlangs verbouwd en dat is een enorme verbetering. Het ziet er gezellig, ietwat rommelig, uit. En het is er altijd druk. En dat is niet onterecht. Het personeel is vriendelijk. De koffie is heet en lekker sterk en er is een ruime keuze voor "iets" erbij. Ook is het mogelijk om er te lunchen. Kicking Horse heeft een efficiënt systeem voor bestellen, betalen en bedienen. Je bestelt en betaalt aan de balie en krijgt een nummer mee voor op tafel. Korte tijd later wordt je bestelling gebracht. Zo kun je gaan wanneer je op wilt stappen en hoef je niet te wachten tot je kunt betalen. Kicking Horse is een aanrader.

Really tasty sandwiches, and very generous portions. The seating arrangement is however more suited for drinks and i found myself eating with my plate in my lap.

Geheel gerenoveerd restaurant. Sfeervol ingericht. Enigszins Amerikaans aanbod van gebak. Goede bediening.

Aanbod is niet verkeerd, maar het bestelsysteem is nogal suboptimaal: bij de kassa, waar niet altijd iemand aanwezig is.

Vandaag druk maar gezellig met live music 🎶🎸🎤🎷

Kan druk zijn met kinderen. Maar verder is het gezellig zeker als je je net gekochte boek of tijdschrift wil lezen. Wel geduld hebben met de bediening.
