The cheese sticks are incredibly delicious, friendly staff

Tasty rolls, soft and firm (a bit like German bread). Plenty of choice of sweet and savory snacks, as well as sandwiches. The staff are always friendly, and there is also a cafe in the same building to grab a coffee and sit comfortably. They also have a loyalty card if you visit often.

The bread here is good, and that’s why I keep coming back. However, the hygiene practices are disappointing. Staff wear gloves, but they use the same gloves to handle money, touch surfaces, and then serve bread. That defeats the purpose and doesn’t feel hygienic at all. I don’t understand why they don’t use tongs. it’s such a simple improvement to implement. I’ve been coming here for a couple of years, and unfortunately, nothing much has changed. I genuinely like their bread, but seeing staff touch their face, handle money, and then serve food makes me uncomfortable every time. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration, as I do really enjoy the bread

Their bread is good but I shouldn't be served tuna when asking for a vegetarian item. Having no respect for customers dietary restriction is frankly unacceptable.

I love the bread at this bakery. It's baked with sourdough. The staff is very friendly. They've even given me some of their sourdough starter to bake at home. The café is pretty, but sometimes it's also messy, noisy, and chaotic. The staff is very young, which sometimes makes things a bit slower. I'm not sure if it's a training establishment.

Cozy place. We found the lettuce a bit wilted between the sandwiches, which is a shame. The service is friendly, and you get a full cup of tea.

The atmosphere is cozy, but I found the bread service a bit rude; the bread was cold. The coffee service, however, was simply good. I think they could be more attentive to tourists. But the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

Your products are delicious and of high quality. We ordered (Sunday, Nov. 16) grilled vegetable bread, but there was a hair in the bread. It is also very important that the employees wear gloves.

Upon entering you are struck by the delicious aroma that fills the place, after which you just have to choose what to taste. Wide choice of sweets, savory and coffee all fresh and good served by friendly, friendly and very kind staff. The verskade is a nice, cozy and homely cafe with bakery, where really healthy products are baked in the old-fashioned way without preservatives. It is wise to eat it right away because it only stays fresh for a day. The coffee is tasty and not too expensive. The atmosphere is homely. Ideal for reading a book, working on the laptop or sitting with friends. There is also a courtyard where you can sit in the summer. The staff is super nice and helpful. Recommended to drink a nice coffee or something else and take a nice fresh sandwich with you, prepared with love.

No, the butcher's shop has disappeared (we still go there sometimes), so we opt for the ham sandwiches! With a drink of course. Biweekly tradition with grandson. Playing games, shooting props. Staff is great!

This is a fantastic place! Everything is absolutely delicious. The work is done according to traditional methods and you can taste and see it. You can eat the products in the restaurant on the Verskade. You can buy half pies and quiches at the bakery, if one whole is too much. There is a great concept behind this bakery. Connect. Everyone counts.. Recommended!

Can't live without bread from Kiss

As a client you are not allowed to pick the bread that u want, so u have to ask for somone to do it for you. And when they do it, they use their hands without tang or other hygiene tools like gloves. This is the face of the Dutch bakery world. Without heart, without taste.

This place used to be good, but in the past year has declined in both service and in quality of food. The pastries are often smashed up or deformed, or burnt, the sandwiches have gotten much smaller and are sometimes underbaked (of course, the price has remained the same or gone up). And the staff routinely cannot manage a proper queue and ignore customers. I also found a hair in my smashed up croissant today. Double-whammy!

Pay a visit to the beautiful monumental factory building where Verkade used to bake the world-famous chocolate and cookies. Nowadays this is the training center of Kiss Bakery/bakery institute. Traditional bread and pastries have been made here at a high level for many years now. Bakers and pastry chefs from all over the country come here to learn the old craft. In the Netherlands nowadays we mainly have factory bread. The knowledge of bread making was almost lost. Healthy bread is baked here again without additives and taste improvers. It's really fun and delicious to buy bread and pastries here while you see how it is made in the background. At the coffee shop in the same Verskade you can eat your sandwich with a nice cup of coffee. It's a shame that the butcher and other shops in the fresh quay didn't make it, because that combination was so nice.

Kiss Bakery Verskade is a great spot for anyone who loves good coffee and freshly baked treats. The pastries are always fresh and full of flavor, and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. It’s a nice place to take a break, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Zaandam!

Very nice to be able to get food here and then eat it straight away at the adjacent coffee bar. We were here this afternoon and will definitely come back! The range was wide and the prices very friendly.

Really spacious, clean and cozy. We bought 4 pastel de nata for 5 euros! You barely can find such good prices in the Netherlands nowadays 😍We also took a nice ginger tea.

Stopped there for a snack after a rain shower. It wasn't anything special. There was only an after-work atmosphere there. Service is nothing except payment XD You can stay there for a long time and in peace, there is a lot of space and it is cozy too.

Oh, what a disappointment. An atmosphereless room, lukewarm coffee and also too expensive for so little coffee in a cup. A homemade filled cookie with which you can bash someone's head in. The food tasted tasteless and rotten.

Anything from the supermarket 'Bakery' will be forever disappointing after you eat at the Kiss Bakery. My absolute favorites: Cheese sticks (nice and big!) Hummus sandwich grilled vegetables 🤤 And the butter cake is also really wow 😍 It's a shame that the butcher next door is gone :'(

Nice authentic place where you can eat in and take away good bakery and tasty stuff. Coffee is also good. Prices are average and surprisingly good compared to big cities.

Delicious products, good price quality. The toilet is really too dirty for words, an employee also came out with her phone in her hands, briefly rinsed her hands and then ran her hands through her hair. This is the same employee who looks at the products, yuck🤢

That dutch are not culturally higienic we already know. But if there's something that really causes me frustration is to see employees serving me food with the hands after accepting cash from other clients or even for us, the gloves are just used for psycology because the way they do it, to have gloves or not is the same. I could go to the bakery so many much more times and I don't go because I want to avoid awkward situations as asking employees to wash their hands before they serve me, because (this are the words they use) is not higienic if is self service, but yeah is higienic being there touching everything, accepting cash, and touch the food with the hands, maybe for a dutch person that might be higienic but for a person with standards that is a red flag. The products have good look and taste good, hoever I'm not buying bread from places where people touch it the hands and lick the fingers after. Just use forceps or tongs, maybe you do some changes when you stop having clients. Everybody thinks aabout the aesthetical, but focusing in making a proper service no, maybe you guys should travel abroad to learn how other bakeries work

Original post: We've been coming here for years but the quality of both the food and customer service has taken a sharp downturn in the last year. In a recent incident I was treated rudely, and zero response via email , though I was sent to email for my l. There is a lovely man who runs the place, but his staff is deplorable. With pain in my heart, I will take my business elsewhere. Just to be clear, this place was also recently shut down by Health and Safety due to a mouse plague. Delicious coffee with cake and ice cream. Lovely sitting on the terrace outside with plenty of shade and space for the children. Too bad there is no service and you have to get everything yourself, especially if you are in a wheelchair.

Nice addition, but the staff (or I didn't find it with all the employees present that day) is not cordial and sympathetic. I think that's a shame, because it detracts from the beauty of this bakery and makes the atmosphere less pleasant.

Super good food and snacks, I've been offered a cookie sample before buying and everything was very good. It is not very clear which one is the bakery and which one the shops close to it. Price is not bad, cheap considering Amsterdam. Very nice atmosphere, cozy and good for a quick bite or to chill with a book or laptop.

Lekkerste verse croissants, koeken en broodjes. De reden dat ik 4 sterren geef is de hygiëne kan beter. De verkoopmedewerkers pakken de broodjes etc. met hun blote handen en zitten ondertussen gewoon aan hun gezicht, haar etc. Heel onhygiënisch!

Erg droge carrot cake. Het brood was wel lekker.

Heerlijke bakkerij. Stokbrood is is absoluut een topper. Top kwaliteit voor hele redelijke prijzen.
