Terrible service!! We just left after waiting over half an hour for our lunch. Meanwhile, we watched people go unattended. Totally unprofessional and unmotivated staff! We read the reviews, but we thought we'd give them the benefit of the doubt. We shouldn't have done that. We were having such a great time in the beer hall! It's a shame they didn't serve lunch there!

Terrible restaurant for the price. The staff pays little attention to their guests. The acoustics in the room seem to have been neglected, making it difficult to hear each other. The quality of the food is reasonable, but not always in proportion to the price. They don't offer black tea. And the cheese board is very minimal, and they forget, for example, the Limburg syrup they advertise. Long story short. Next time we'll eat somewhere else.

When I asked if it would be best to order dessert right away due to the time constraints, I received an apology that something had gone wrong with the order. In the end, I only paid for the food; the drinks were free.

Booked with social deal. The abbey is beautiful. The room was fine, but noisy, which was not surprising to us, because it is a very old building. What was surprising was the restaurant. It started with the menu, where half of the menu had a supplement of euro 9.50, while the prices on the online menu only differed by 4 euros. The menu was quite limited, as a starter only without paying an extra 9.5, choice of parsnip soup or mustard soup on a sunny day. The staff was unfriendly and the food was not good. There was little left of the parsnip soup and you could especially taste the layer of truffle oil. The main course was the low point. Scampi with tomato sauce... the tomato sauce was the Doritos dip with the nachos. Also it was served with cauliflower, broccoli and carrot, which was a strange combination. In addition, there was very little flavor to the vegetables, not even salt or pepper, just boiled (sometimes). The same vegetables were also found with the duck breast with gravy from a carton. The fries we got were cooked way too short. Unfortunately the breakfast was not much better. We were the first ones there and many things, such as the sandwiches, already tasted old, as everything was made from a package. In addition, I wouldn't wish anyone the coffee that was served there.

We went there for lunch with a good friend. A group of people had finished and there was one other table occupied outside of us. We ordered a cappuccino in advance and then our order was taken. The cappuccino was served lukewarm. And 45 minutes later our pumpkin soup was served with 2 mini pieces of toasted bread and a rock-hard tub of butter. Inexperienced staff. What a pity. We'll never go back there again. Then we are used to better things in Kerkrade for that kind of money.

We had expectations for our dinner, given the limited number of dishes on the menu. Especially with such a small selection you expect quality and attention to detail, but unfortunately this turned out to be hard to find. I chose the burger as a precaution, because I was already in doubt. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a correct assessment, because I have never eaten such a tasteless burger. No judicial attention whatsoever to the taste. My mother's dish, the steak, was equally disappointing: poorly seasoned and tasteless. The vegetables were also minimal in taste and uninspired. It seems like the chef could still use some basic lessons on spices and flavor development. In addition, the service left a lot to be desired. Although there were several staff members present, only one person seemed truly capable. The rest were young helpers who clearly lacked guidance. Basic matters such as lighting candles on the table were only done once the guests were already inside. We were shown to our table, but had to wait a long time before we could order a drink. Even ordering a second drink was difficult; I literally had to wave to get attention. During dinner we were not asked how it tasted, and upon departure we were not asked whether it was to our liking. There is a clear lack of hospitality and attention to the guest here. All in all a big disappointment. This restaurant has many areas for improvement, both in the kitchen and in the service. Certainly not worth repeating.

We stayed at the abbey for one night on a bike tour in Limburg. Instead of looking for a restaurant out in the evening, we paid a visit to the in-house brasserie. Our reservation, which we had made at reception that morning, could not be found, but they still had a place for us. First, we had to wait a long time for the waiter to take our drink order. The waiter didn't know "Ricard", one of the classic aperitif drinks. Instead of asking, he just looked at us strangely. It was only 15 seconds later that he was able to make eye contact with his colleague. It can happen, everyone learns. Forgive and forgiven. Now you usually expect that when the drinks are served, the food order also goes hand in hand. But we were left sitting with drinks and a menu. It wasn't until a good 10-15 minutes later (and God knows it wasn't busy!) that the waiter asked if we could order. We said yes and the waiter collected the menu cards. He would come immediately. We looked at each other puzzled: How are we supposed to order without a card? Two minutes later the waiter came back, gave us a card back (huh?) and we were finally able to order. The service - at least our waitress - still has a lot to learn, although some situations could have been avoided simply by asking or at least through simple logical thinking. There was also apparently no agreement between the two waitresses. About the food: The presentation of the food is appropriate, although e.g. B. a salad in a deep frying pot seems strange, but well - to each his own. The Rolduc burger was a culinary delight, two other dishes were average. Unfortunately, some of the food wasn't really warm (perhaps because it took the waiter as long to serve the food as it did to take the order?). The ambience is right and I am convinced that you could do a lot more with it here. First step: Hire experienced waitresses who really take the newcomers by the hand and show them how it's done. Every guest understands this, but not when you as a guest are left sitting there feeling unsettled. Working in the catering industry is also a training occupation for a reason. There's more to it than just a fake big smile.

The young waiter didn't know anything about it and eventually went to the kitchen to ask. Everything that wasn't there was gone. No alternative and paid full price (18.50) for half a salad..

Rarely had the need to write a review, but this was severely lacking. It will take a while before we can order. Tea and tonic is already a challenge for the young waiter. The tonic comes, we still have to wait for the tea. Eventually I get the boxes of loose tea, a while later the glass of hot water arrives I have to ask for a tea strainer. We order our lunch, 2 soups and 2 abbey breads (1x salmon and 1x chicken). Cutlery is brought, loose from the hand, all a bit clumsy. My husband gets 2 napkins, knife and fork. I get a knife and fork. A while later, 2 more spoons arrive, quite useful if you order soup. The soup is served with an oblong toast, the salad leaf on the toast is far from fresh. The soup is cold. We send the soup back and report that the garnish can no longer be served. The waiter reports that he is not concerned about that. The soup comes back, I suspect it went into the microwave. Soup is a little warmer, garnish is added again. Then the abbey bread (tastes good), the bread with chicken has no salad, the salmon does. We share the bit of salad, service has other priorities than serving guests. Salmon looks like it comes from a can. While waiting, it is noticeable that empty tables are still full of crumbs, the flowers on tables could have been put in the organic waste bin 3 days ago. For us, never again.

We had made a reservation for 2 people at 6:00 PM, but 20 minutes after arriving we were only asked for something to drink. 1 hour later after a complete group + 2 other tables received their starter, our starter arrived and the soup had become completely cold. After the complaint, this was exchanged for a new one, which took 15 minutes. We did not receive our main course until 8:00 PM, after many others who had arrived at least an hour later after us received their main course earlier. Also, no fries were served as promised. Complaints were mentioned several times by us, even between dishes, when staff reported that there was a shortage of staff due to a sick person. That's too bad. But then it is not true that other customers are more likely to receive dishes that are the same as ours.

Ate here with a group the day after Ascension. Almost half the menu was not available due to a logistical problem (ordered too little stock?). Tap water with coffee was prohibited, which is very inhospitable. This shows that as an entrepreneur you are mainly concerned with the money. It's the wrong kind of thrift as far as I'm concerned. It's not as if we just wanted to order tap water. The sandwiches were fairly sparsely filled and the coffee and pie were not served at the same time, the pie much later. Has a lot of potential, but food mediocre for that price. Some dishes ok, some flavorless/cold. Beware: not kids friendly. No kids menu/choice (only some fries with fried snacks), no playing area or otherwise. Young staff that did its best but was not instructed well enough. Kids food came later than our food and we had to ask for it. While we discussed the severe allergies of 1 of the group with the staff, this was not carried out in the food. Could have been a trip to the hospital if we hadn’t been careful ourselves. Several items on the (small) menu were not available. Would not recommend.

We were 8 people. 6 people received the ordered lunch and two of us did not, they had forgotten it. Lunch was further disappointing. I had ordered a farmer's bread de luxe (with salmon and herb cheese), but I received a sandwich with very salty salmon and hummus spread underneath - so no herb cheese - and the lettuce that came with it was hard to find. Moreover, we had to wait for 45 minutes and had to repeatedly ask where lunch was. This has sometimes been much better at this brasserie.

Booked this hotel and dinner for 1 day through Social Deal and paid in advance. It is a beautiful location, but the service in the restaurant was poor. Upon arrival at the hotel, we could only choose from 2 times for the restaurant because it was "fully booked" at the other times. Upon entering there was no one to be seen, even after making some noises. Finally we sat down somewhere and grabbed the map ourselves. Due to the limited time we were given because it would be busy. Finally, after 7 minutes, a (bald) waiter came who was clearly irritated that we had sat down. It took quite a while before the dishes were served, especially since we were the only guests. It was a menu instead of a buffet as stated in the Social Deal. For a number of dishes a supplement had to be paid, for example if you did not want soup as a starter. The food was all prefab, from packets. In the kitchen we also happened to see afterwards that not a single burner was on / not really cooking. Ultimately, the restaurant was certainly not fully booked when we left around 7:30 PM, there were only 4 tables occupied? Why fully booked? Because we had made a booking using our room number, we assumed that the drinks could be booked in the room. Because no one from the staff was present again, we just left. In the hallway we were stopped by the dominant bald waiter and ordered to pay. We explained that there was no one there and thought it could just be booked in the room. All in all a very bad experience, in terms of food and especially the Limburg hospitality was very hard to find here. Especially with the waiter!

27,- voor een biefstuk dan verwacht je wel een hele, deze was niet compleet en taai. Bediening onervaren en werkt zich uit de naad door slechte organisatie, men laat gasten aan hun lot over, drie mensen achter de bar en slechts enkele gasten maar die worden genegeerd. Tuinbonen uit de vriezer waren verschrompeld, gravad lax zalm besteld maar gewone gekregen. Accomodatie is fantastisch daar betaal je voor.

We hadden aan de receptie van Rolduc een tafel voor 2 gereserveerd bij het inchecken voor de hotelkamer. En gelukkig waren we er op tijd bij. Binnen een uur zat het restaurant vol. Eenvoudige à la carte kaart, maar stuk voor stuk aan te raden gerechten. Van zalm, tot rundvlees, het stond er allemaal op. Ik had de saté met frites, met een mosterdsoepje vooraf. Heerlijk! En, om het geheel weg te spoelen, een echt door Rolduc gebrouwen kloosterbiertje, de "Broene Pater". Zalig! Personeel ook ontzettend vriendelijk en professioneel, ondanks de drukte. Al met al een gezellige avond.

Super entspanntes Essen für 34,50 €/p.P. 1⭐️ Abzug weil vom Platz zuweisen bis überhaupt eine Bedienung Kenntnis von uns genommen hat und unsere Getränkebestellung aufgenommen hat mind. 30 Minuten vergangen sind und nochmals 10 Minuten bis wir unser Essen bestellen durften. Hatten 3-gänge Essen mit Thunfisch, Fleisch und Creme Brule, alles was super angerichtet, mega lecker und schmackhaft. nur das hauseigene Dubble Bier war nicht so unser Fall. Fazit: 👍top und sehr zu empfehlen und kommen bestimmt mal wieder.

We hadden een laat diner besteld wat perfect mogelijk was. Maar om dan een 3 gangen menu op een half uur op je tafel te krijgen gaat dat wel er wat over. Plus de vis was lauw en we voelde ons de ochtend erna niet echt lekker

The food at the restaurant was really delicious, the service was great, the ambience was exceptional. We spent three excellent days here, enjoyed the great ambience of the monastery, relished the exceptionally delicious cuisine, and roamed around the rolling countryside of southern Limburg. The beer from their own brewery was fantastic too.

We dined here with a group. Our order was taken quickly, and the food was ready very quickly. It's not exactly a culinary highlight, but the food is simply excellent and, above all, inexpensive. I think you definitely get your money's worth. The staff was friendly. The only downside, in our opinion, was that the knives were quite blunt. It was a real struggle to cut a pizza; your hands simply hurt.
