Na enkele jaren in Breda te wonen, besloot ik eindelijk eens een bezoek te brengen aan dit café in de Barones. Ik was er rond 12.00 uur op een doordeweekse zomervakantiedag. De inrichting is verzorgd, de locatie is goed, en het open raam zorgde voor een aangename bries. Bij binnenkomst stonden er drie à vier medewerkers achter de toonbank. Ze waren niet onvriendelijk, maar ook allesbehalve gastvrij of communicatief. Zonder duidelijke begroeting of uitleg bleek dat je bij een -niet to-go-bestelling gewoon plaats mocht nemen. De bestelling werd aan tafel opgenomen en later door iemand anders geserveerd. De cappuccino zag er goed uit, met latte art en geserveerd in mooi servies. Helaas was mijn tafel vies (er lag gemorste chocolademelk van een vorige gast). Toen ik dit vriendelijk meldde, reageerde de serveerster (Nikki) op een bitse toon dat het tafeltje naast mij wel schoon was — wat niet klopte; dat lag bezaaid met kruimels. Ze nam niet de moeite om zelf te kijken. Even later kwam ze onverwacht toch met een doekje terug. Ik heb haar bedankt, maar het gevoel van onwelkom zijn was al ontstaan. Bij het afrekenen vroeg een collega aan Nikki wat ik had genuttigd, waarop ze haar schouders ophaalde en ongeïnteresseerd reageerde. Waarom deze onprofessionele houding? Het blijft onduidelijk. De koffie zelf was overigens zeer matig. Na dit voorval keekik eens op me heen: weinig oog voor klanten, veel onderling geklets, telefoongebruik tijdens werktijd, en weinig aandacht voor hygiëne of service. Een aantal medewerkers leek zich zelfs wat ‘omhooggevallen’ te gedragen. Ik sluit me dan ook aan bij eerdere negatieve recensies over de bediening. Erg jammer, want de locatie heeft potentie. Helaas zal ik hier niet meer terugkomen. De drukte in het winkelcentrum lijkt ervoor te zorgen dat men zich geen moeite hoeft te doen voor klanten. Een teleurstellende ervaring. Het doet me zelfs afvragen of sommige positieve recensies wel oprecht zijn.

Delicious products, nice service and fast service. Definitely recommended! Both for just having lunch and for working while enjoying a nice cup of coffee. The only thing you have to keep in mind when working is to charge your laptop beforehand, since there are no charging points. If you make sure you are well prepared, you can work here while enjoying a nice cup of coffee.

The coffee was very tasty! Especially the latte special was really great. The iced latte was unfortunately a bit disappointing. We had a muffin and a cookie with it, which were both fine. The price is a bit on the high side.

I really love this place. I always take my coffee to go but today I had more time and my boyfriend and I dropped in for toast. They were delicious and I've never had better toast. The coffee is also great. The milk is frothed perfectly. I highly recommend it!🥰

Fortunately, Teun was open during Carnival Friday morning with the weekly market on the Chassé field. And the cappuccino is very tasty.

Great place to get a cup of coffee. The coffee and hot chocolate taste great and there's nothing to complain about the drink nor service. Sadly, due to the location, it's not really relaxing because it's in the Baroness. The place seems to be packed quite a lot, so I assume it's quite a popular place.

Nice, clean and decorated with good taste. Coffee good too. Unfortunately too much noise for my taste. It's in the "De Barones" shopping center and all the visitors walk past you, children run around. Right next to one entrance, some go in and others go out... It was enough for a coffee.

I arrived at 5:30 PM to pick up an iced latte. The response I got was “it's still possible” even though the business wouldn't close until 6:00 PM. The iced latte was quite tasty, but the amount of ice cubes in it was not okay. After 4 sips it was almost gone! This was of course a shame since, as I said, the coffee itself was tasty.

The cappuccino was excellent but the homemade tuna sandwich was very disappointing. 2 slices of bread, very very thinly spread with tuna, 4 slices of tomato, 2 slices of cucumber and some lettuce leaves. Does this really have to cost €12.50? I expected more from this, so we will skip Coffee at Teun for lunch from now on.

Had a very strange, customer-unfriendly experience. Something I've never experienced before. The decaf americano I got was stale and had no crema. When I indicated this, they wanted to bring me a new one, but I had to pay for it. Because he was set. I refused that. After five minutes of discussion they offered me to put in a new one. I indicated that I wanted a regular espresso (that can't go wrong...). That also took 10 minutes and I got a somewhat sour espresso. They also said that they had to adjust the grinding degree because the coffee was a bit acidic. Then I had to pay for both coffees. I did, but I will never come here again. Just like all the other people I've told this story to. Not having your coffee shops in order and letting the customer suffer as a result. A real way to lose your customers, you might say.

Bit pricey for being in a shopping mall (4.70€ for a flat white?) but really good coffee. Our oat flat whites tasted strong enough. The staff are also very accommodating and nice. We'll definitely be back for a late evening coffee as most cafés in town are closed after 16-17h.

Nice coffee shop in the Barones. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was reasonable, but the naked espresso was perfectly served with a glass of water and a delicious cookie. You can watch on the screen above the bar ;) Definitely worth coming back again!

Unfortunately there was no vegan option for lunch. Not even by adjusting a dish. Only option was a piece of banana bread...a bit disappointing.

We walked in at 3:45 PM. The restaurant is open until 6:00 PM. When we asked if we could have some lunch, we were told that the kitchen had just closed, while the menu states that you can order "all day" breakfast and lunch dishes, but not so. Special and disappointing if you ask me.

Definitely one of the tastiest coffees in Breda. The latte special with caramel is in my top 3 of the tastiest in this city! The staff is friendly and there is a pleasant atmosphere. You can also take a coffee to-go. This is also a nice place for lunch or a cake.

In my opinion the best coffee in Breda (but I will visit a few more). Neatly provided with a glass of water and a cookie. Order a double espresso from a naked piston (you can do that here). Really more than just great taste! Furthermore, great atmosphere, good service and excellent price-quality ratio. I also asked if I could make a video... Can only recommend him.

What a bad experience with this owner who feels like the king with a coffee shop. He sincerely thinks he has invented the wheel and speaks to you as a customer as if you were cleaning his step. You don't even want to take anything from this guy, you shouldn't give this guy a cent. Coffee available everywhere... that's an arrogant guy.

Drink my coffee twice a week in this cafe and almost always the same problem. The table is dirty from the former customer's food or to remove the sticky.

Cozy open coffee shop in the Barones. Very friendly staff. Nice original menu. Delicious coffee. Opted for breakfast... which you can order all day long... for lunch. Delicious cappuccino, fresh orange juice, fresh croissant, homemade jam, fresh fruit and delicious yogurt with granola and chocolate. Really enjoyed every part. And all that for less than 10 euros. To be repeated. Recommended. A minor minus. Toilets were not that clean.

Latte macchiato, smoothie and a yoghurt bowl with granola, fresh fruit and homemade jam...delicious...And very nice service. The large window on the street side was open, which was also nice with the nice weather. Definitely worth repeating and ordering something else from the menu... plenty of choice.

Wanted to have brunch with my daughter, but no one came to take the order, even when the alarm went off for the second time. Only when we got up to leave did the gentleman come to our table and when I indicated that we were leaving because we had not been helped, he asked if we still wanted something but no apology or smile at all and when we had taken something to drink no one said goodbye either. A peanut butter sandwich costs 6.50 and the employees were chatting with each other while we were waiting.

Good coffee, they take their profession seriously. Waitress who helped us was nice and attentive. Cheesecake nice and creamy. Nice spot if you're walking around the Barones and want to sit for a while, but because you're actually in a shopping center, it's not necessarily super cozy.
