Koffie & Ik in Wijk 01 West

Good coffee but extremely slow service even with 3 employees and only a few costumers. I have left more than once and I am not going again because they were going first to tables that arrived after mine and were just generally very slow and not experienced enough to know how read the room.

I come here all the time! To work, to relax, to chat with friends… it's all possible here. The coffee is delicious. The lunch is simple but tasty, and the pastel de nata is superb. My favorite coffee shop!

Good products and decent coffee. Also a nice place to sit for a while. Unfortunately, the service has been very bad ever since I started coming here. It's downright scandalous actually. Very unfriendly staff who also have no pace. Four of them are standing behind the counter chatting and eating. Unfortunately, this is not seen once but almost constantly. When picking up, it sometimes takes 5 to 10 minutes before you finally have a coffee. This system is very unfriendly to quickly get a coffee. There are many places that do it differently. In addition, when you sit down, it can sometimes take 10 to 20 minutes before they come by. This ensures that you just go by yourself and then the ladies get irritated that you come by and they come like this. This is a trend that has been visible for a long time. It is clear that the staff does not radiate passion and would rather sleep in bed. Therefore, I do not recommend this place, which is a shame.

Products are good but service is beyond terrible. 3 or 4 people working there and even when there is almost no customers they will take 20 minutes to come to your table if they ever come, and if you go to ask for service they get annoyed that you disturb their chatting and phone scrolling so you are tell to sit and wait…we live few blocks away so we have had this repeatedly and it’s not improving since the last 2 years

Very nice, medium-sized cafe with a good vegan breakfast bowl (vegan yogurt with fruit and granola) and good coffee. The gluten-free banana bread was too cinnamony for me.

My kids, pastel de nata for €4, what a joke. And what's more, it's not even good. Very bougie place, very slow service, about 40 minutes to serve two sandwiches, 4 people working and only half a dozen customers. The quality of the dish is very questionable in relation to the price Pastel de nata is a simple, yet delicious pastry, super cheap in Portugal (where it's from and where it only costs 1€ max) The one they serve here is nothing compared to the one in Portugal, yet it costs 4 times more.

A very nice discovery in Utrecht! I had breakfast there twice: to take away and then on site. The chai latte is delicious 🥰 and the pain au chocolat is better than some bakeries in France (it tastes like butter and two bars of chocolate). An excellent surprise!

Unfortunately not what I expected. Wasn't exactly spoken to in a friendly manner and the girls behind the bar were talking about "well if it continues like this we will close earlier". I don't often complain but I didn't exactly feel welcome. Coffee not great either. Hopefully this was just a snapshot.

Dont understand why laptop charge is this expensive. Also slowest service Ive ever experienced, i understand when u sit in, but for take away it shall be no brainer thats easy cash. I would strongly suggest some workload focus rearrangement otherwise with such tiempo is not sustainable. Food is delicious though i have to admit. But ambienxe is not the cosiest because chairs are only for few hours sitting:)

I like this place for the location and quality of coffee & pastries. However service is often on and off and like many people have pointed out the laptop policy is the reason I often avoid this place. I like to meet for a working date with a friend where usually we order many coffees and lunch + snacks. Considering that the place is already quite pricey the extra laptop fee is a massive turnoff. Why are people who sit and study or read a book not charged a fee?

After ordering a sandwich, things went wrong when it came to drinking. When eating, the sandwich and sandwich were very disappointing.... little meat, LOTS of lettuce and 1 euro of bread from the AH. Not worth our money unfortunately

An unpleasant surprise. Starting this month, I have a weekly work meeting and we thought it would be fun to do that while enjoying a nice lunch. Coffee & I was on the route, so we went in there. The wait staff allowed us to choose a table ourselves and chose a round. When one of us took a tablet out of the bag, we were told that we have to sit at the rectangular tables with laptops. We found this a bit strange, as we had just been told that we could choose ourselves, but anyway, there was plenty of room, so we moved, no problem. We then had an extensive lunch/brunch at the rectangular table. Five drinks, sandwiches, cookies, etc. The food and drinks were not exactly cheap, but tasty and of good quality. We mostly talked and took notes in our notebooks and on the laptop. When we wanted to look something up on the internet, the WiFi turned out to be very slow - despite the fact that there were few people inside - but hey, we can get by with that at home. So far so good, not great, but acceptable. But when we paid we suddenly got a nasty surprise. We had to pay an extra 2.50 per hour for the use of the "laptop table". Eh? We let it be known that we did not think this was appropriate and the waiter indicated that it was on a small card on the other side of the so-called "laptop table" where we had been sitting. We didn't want to make a scene, so we settled it, but we made it clear that this doesn't make us happy. Two euros fifty for a place where the waiter made us sit, for the electricity we didn't use and the internet that was so slow that we couldn't work on it? Sorry. Of course - as an entrepreneur I understand very well that coffee shops are not happy when they are full of people who buy 1 drink and then sit there working all day. But we were high-paying guests who came for an extensive brunch. Then I can expect internet to be included in the price, right? Or that it be announced in advance if this is not the case, so that we can decide for ourselves whether we are willing to pay 2.50 per hour for it? I think it's rather silly to suddenly put us on the spot like this when paying. Not chic. So unfortunately, even though the place is cozy and the sandwiches were tasty - next week we will look for another place for our weekly meeting lunch. We're really hungover from this afternoon.

A really cozy cafe with wonderful food, a chic, modern vibe and attentive staff.

Very nice atmosphere, great service, good prices, the only downside is having to pay €2.50 per hour to use the laptop.

It's a very good place and good people work

This cafe is a rare find, especially in the Netherlands - it opens as early as 8 am., even on Sundays, making it perfect for morning people like me. I personally love sitting outside on the street in the mid-morning sun (when we’re lucky enough to have it). It does get busy at times, but in my experience, the service is always quick. They serve an excellent cappuccino, along with tasty granola with yogurt, sandwiches, and some of the best cakes in the area. My personal favorite is definitely the banana bread! It’s not the kind of place where you’d linger for hours, but it’s just right for soaking up some sun and enjoying a lovely breakfast or coffee break. Inside, I’ve noticed there’s a fee for laptops, which might not appeal to everyone. But overall, the atmosphere is pleasant, and if you’re from the area, I’d definitely recommend stopping by.

Koffie en Ik is een ontbijt en lunch restaurant. Zeker geen desert restaurant. Ze sluiten om 17.00 uur. Ik genoot een overheerlijke cappuccino en een sandwich serranoham met mozzarella pesto artichokken amanel en balsamico. Een weerzien waard.

Great coffee shop, especially good coffee. I think the setup is a bit less suitable if you want to make coffee “on your own”. There are only seats for 2… well, I got by. The service was good, the toilet was tidy... I had a nice time here

Really nice place for coffee and cake. I appreciated the small kid corner and changing table in the bathroom. As a new mom, I find it great places like Koffie & ik accommodate everyone's needs.

Very expensive for what it is, a cup of filter coffee for €4.50 is really too much. Between ordering and receiving the coffee and cake, I quickly checked in for a flight on my laptop. I had to pay €5 for this at checkout. Nice place and nice coffee but unfortunately not recommended

The food and drinks are nice, no doubt, but wow, the price point! 6.00 euro for a dirty chai latte is really pushing it.

Expensive stuff: ordered lots of food, but also took out my laptop for just a minute. I was told it would cost money to use the laptop, so put it away right then and there - bill: still got charged for more than 10€ for the moment my laptop was out. Horrible practice. NOT laptop friendly

I took out my laptop and they told me I needed to pay per hour so I put my laptop away, had a full breakfast and was then still charged 10eu extra for laptop use... While I wanted to like this place this practice is double bad...

Here you find a very modern coffee spot with beautiful seats facing the sun. It’s probably the hottest coffee place for the well situated young parents from the area. Food was average, the matcha tasted like bubble tea and the service was… Well, there was no service even after 30 min waiting. Cheers

If you order an iced matcha you get a glass of milk with a tiny tiny hint of matcha. My friend said the coffee was good tho

The lazy director's chairs outside along the facade have unfortunately made way for a long "bank" of cold storage racks. Unsociable and uninviting. We take a seat inside and order an orange juice, flat white, toasted sandwich and a hummus sandwich. Sufficient choice of simple and tasty lunch dishes on the menu. The service is friendly and the dishes are delicious. Several pieces of the edge of the plates, this looks a bit sad. (and where is the broken piece.) Tip for the manager. The waitress' pants with the pinstripe are stained on the side. Perhaps work with a nice black apron, this makes changing in between easier. The waste bin in the toilet is overflowing; Sanitary check several times a day is a must. Today is not as good as other times, but we will definitely be back.

We come here regularly! Very friendly staff! Delicious pastries, especially the vegan pink cake, is a favorite with us. Coffee is delicious. Atmosphere is perfect! Be sure to visit us sometime

Wanted to have a coffee and work; using your laptop is charged extra, so end up working on my phone. Coffee is very bitter and too hot. Very child friendly place, but comes with the confusion and cries of kids. Didn’t finish the coffee but barista doesn’t really care… not a place I would return to…

Nice place, not too busy, coffee is quite good and nice lunch options. If you’re coming with laptop be prepared to be seated at dedicated tables and pay 2.5 euros per hour (this kinda discouraged me), but otherwise pleasant and friendly cafe.

The place itself is nice, coffee is ok but not too good compared to its price, and personally I think the service is really “cold” even though there are all young ladies working there. Maybe international people are not welcomed here or maybe it was not my luck. Definitely not in my recommendation list for the best coffee places in Utrecht!

Nice experience. Friendly staffs and nice atmosphere. There’re some benches outside, not with canal view but on lovely peaceful street. We ordered matcha latte and chai latte. Matcha was ok but must try chai latte. The cinnamon taste got me. Apple pie is a bit hard. Its not too sweet tho

It remains a super nice place for good pastries and delicious coffee. Just don't take the Matcha Latte, which is unfortunately just weak green milk. A shame because a good Matcha can be delicious.

I visited this place, and two of the ladies at the counter, one of whom was named Yara (the girl with the hair bun), were extremely rude. They were making fun of me with their colleagues, right in front of my face, speaking in Dutch, not realizing that I fully understood them. I don't recommend this place especially for people of color, as you might not want to risk being made fun of or gossiped about in a language you don't understand. The drinks were good but I'm disappointed with the level of customer service

This used to be such a nice place when I lived here 5 years ago. A year ago I moved back to Lombok and couldn’t wait to visit again. However when entering the show the service was downright awful, you aren’t welcomed and the staff is mainly focused on talking to each other. The cofffee was okay, the brownies tasted old. I tried it a second time and the service was again terrible, at first we were ignored and after that we got cut off when ordering coffee, which resulted in us not being able to order something else. Also the staff gossiped about customers, which is incredibly rude.

Nice people work here. Just bought a whole bag of those pieces of butter cake of which you normally only get one with your coffee. It's so good that it feels illegal to have a whole bag of it.

Delicious food and drinks for 30 euros and then an extra 5 euros for laptop use?? Better to ask the 2 customers who are loudly doing a Teams meeting to stop. Food and drinks are delicious, but I'm not going to pay for silent laptop use. So it was the last time here (according to a loyal customer)

Not what it used to be. I've been to this place multiple times, and I've always enjoyed it. However, they've recently raised their prices. Now, a small cappuccino costs 3.60€, which is the same price as a large one used to be. They also charge 2.50€ per hour for people using laptops. The level of service can be inconsistent; one day, the staff is super attentive, and the next day, they seem more focused on their own conversations. Additionally, the cozy atmosphere is disrupted by the heavy ventilation, which feels more like an uncomfortable cold breeze.

They took a very long time to prepare three coffees and three avocado toasts, while being very quiet around. Waitresses seemed busier talking about their stuff than working. When the order finally came, one coffee type was wrong... The coffee is good though, the avocado toast is average, nothing special.

Caffetteria di alta qualità. Ottimo caffè e ottimo cappuccino, cose rare all'estero. Prezzo in linea con Olanda in generale ma qualità molto alta. Brioches buonissime. Ambiente bello e rilassante, niente fretta. Disponibile anche esterno. Ragazze che gestiscono gentilissime. Ho ritardato la partenza solo per poter godere di un'ultima colazione in questo bellissimo locale.

Super goede lunch, lekkere koffie. Soms duurde het wat lang voor we geholpen werden, verder heel vriendelijk. Fijn om om de hoek te hebben, ook nog verkoop van mooie lokale producten, zoals limonade van de Roze Bunker.

Bonito lugar para tomar algo. Ambiente relajado y tranquilo. Excelente atención por parte de las camareras, a pesar, de no entendernos y de que nosotras no hablamos inglés ni neerlandés.

Erg gezellige sfeer en aardig personeel. Wel jammer dat je extra moet betalen (2,50 per uur!) als je met je laptop even wilt zitten, dit is een beetje klant-onvriendelijk helemaal nu vanuit huis werken heel gangbaar is. De koffie is oke.

Heerlijke koffiezaak, super leuk en aardig personeel. De koffie is heerlijk. Fijn om zo’n goede koffiezaak ook buiten het centrum te hebben. Ruime openingstijden dus voor je eerste kopje koffie kun je al langsgaan. Voor lunch kun je kiezen uit toast met avocado, een broodje burrata of een broodje spianata romana, of een tosti (vlees of vega). Of de yoghurt met huisgemaakte granola en de zoetigheid die je de hele dag kunt bestellen. Ook vegetarische en veganistische opties zoals het bananenbrood of glutenvrije opties. Al het gebak wordt zelf gemaakt (en dat ruik je in de zaak!). Bij de koffie krijg je huisgemaakte boterkoek. Voor flexwerken betaal je €2,50 per uur, redelijk als je bedenkt dat dit een extra service is. En het is dan ook een goede plek (airco in de zomer, stopcontacten, wifi, ruimte) om even te studeren/werken of te overleggen.

Beste chai latte, altijd vriendelijke bediening. Super
