We ordered eggs benedict and gochujang chicken around 11:05 (the kitchen opened at 11:00, and another table with one person had ordered at the same time). We finally received our food around 11:40. The chicken was cold, and the eggs looked more like ping-pong balls than a nicely poached egg with a runny yolk. The wait was so long, the chicken so cold, and the yolks so curdled that it seemed as if the staff had spent half an hour poaching a whole dozen eggs, failing every time, and then just sent us the two that were the best. Too bad. The staff in the dining room apparently noticed. When asked if we liked it, I simply couldn't answer honestly. I didn't feel like sending my plate back after such a long wait or getting into a pointless discussion. So, I'll just go ahead and tell them that while the staff is friendly, they absolutely can't poach an egg. Therefore, remove it from the menu. Less hassle for everyone.

We came here hoping to get some breakfast, as the menu they link online says that breakfast is available from 9:30. When we arrived around that time we discovered that the kitchen actually opens at 11:00. So then it's not really a breakfast place? Strange to offer things like granola and acai bowl but then your kitchen opens at 11:00.. We decided to settle for some of the pastry options instead, but most of those also had not been delivered yet. I think those started arriving more towards 10:00, even though they open at 9:00. They would do better to just open at 11:00 and actually be prepared for customers, and forget about offering breakfast, because this way it doesn't make much sense. In the end we paid 17 euros for 2 coffee and 2 pastries, which also seems pretty exorbitant.The staff was very friendly, so they are not to blame for this rating whatsoever.

Acai bowl, more like acai soup??? Disgraceful

A bit of a mediocre performance this time. I love going there, but when someone unannounced tells me the kitchen has suddenly closed at 2:00 PM (due to an event) because of the waitstaff, but then friends of the waitstaff come in afterward (after 2:00 PM) and they're still served sandwiches, it really stings. If exceptions are made, that's a big deal, but please be transparent about that.

Tried the lemonade, oat milk latte, and coconut milk matcha latte. All recommended!

Laptop friendly, able to quietly sit here to study, good playlist at the background and a very nice carrot cake.

What a fantastic place this is! I hadn't heard of it before, and walked past it early this morning, but ended up staying for two hours. When I (through my own clumsiness) spilled my latte on the table, the friendly waitress helped me right away and gave me a new one without even asking. Excellent service. I'll definitely be back!

It was a great place to grab a bite to eat. I was there with my pregnant wife, and the bartender was very helpful. We even ended up talking about our vacation plans. A great hotspot in Utrecht!

Worst experience in the Netherlands went in the waiter was so grumpy and rude kicked us out saying that it’s closing time without any notice or explanation he was so rude and aggressive used a lot of hate words like “gay” and “emo” tried to get physical until a homeless guy heard the fight and helped us leave. DONT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!

A thin slice of cake for €4, tasty but incredibly overpriced. The service is absolutely awful. They don't say hello, and I can't crack a smile. It's a shame, I won't be back.

Delicious food and drinks. I was helped by two not-so-talkative girls. Otherwise, it was excellent. Lavender matcha with coconut milk is highly recommended!!! It's difficult to reach by car, and parking is hard to find nearby.

We ordered an iced matcha to go. I highly recommend it if you like matcha. Don't like it? There are also many other drinks on the menu (which I'll definitely be back for). We didn't eat anything, but what I saw passing by looked good. The service was friendly, and the place looks cozy with indoor and outdoor seating. The iced matcha to go is served in a unique (for the Netherlands) way.

One of my favorite spots in Utrecht! The food is so yummy. The pancakes are very fluffy and have great taste. I’m a sucker for red velvet cake and theirs is so well made. The focaccia (not pictured) is also very good, but a bigger portion so great to share or to take home. Highly recommend this spot!

Kushiin is a lovely place where you can have a drink and enjoy a nice drink. Especially in the afternoon, when the sun is shining on your head!

Honestly, the few times I went there before I didn't have much to complain about. However, I was really disappointed in this place today. I ordered an iced matcha that honestly mostly tasted like oat milk and the actual matcha mix liquid was pre-made in a plastic bottle :/ When I'm treating myself for a 5 euro matcha, I just want to taste like real matcha. Other than that, I asked to have it in a paper cup for ecological reasons but apparently that was not allowed by the boss (not the fault of the person who told me this, she was very nice). They absolutely want to serve in those plastic cans... I get that it's for branding but if someone asks for a paper cup, you should provide it. I really did not like the vibe today and was rlly disappointed:/ Would never get a takeaway matcha there again, sorry.

Lovely spot for a drink in Utrecht! From Thursday to Saturday you are perfect here: sunny terrace all day long, fine wine and snacks that are really different from the standard, super tasty and original. Relaxed atmosphere, nice service. Ideal for a summer evening with friends! 🫶🏻

Very cute cafe, there are also seats outside. The food is very tasty. The employees are friendly. There are various pastries and the topped focaccia is highly recommended. When we asked, we were given an acai bowl as a gluten-free option. The hot drinks were very good.

the iced dirty chai was so good

We visited this place on a Tuesday afternoon. The service was friendly and helpful + the food was super tasty! The French toast and pancakes; super fluffy/airy, yet filling. We also chose the chicken focaccia, which we thought was really fantastic. The combination of savory and sweet was perfect. We also ordered a little too much, but luckily the waiter offered us a bowl to take the rest with us. Great service! It's also nice that there are many different types of drinks to choose from, such as coffee, juices and lemonades. Moreover, they said that they will be expanding the menu this spring/summer with more choice of sandwiches.

A lovely place for a brunch or just to enjoy a nice cup of coffee! They have a large selection of cakes and pastries, as well as a nice lunch menu. They also have various drinks, not limited to coffee! We tried the lime cake and the pistachio croissant which were super delicious! For drinks we had a latte and an iced strawberry matcha latte, and both were great. The atmoshpere is very cozy and they have plenty of space inside, and also outside if the weather is nice :)

Kushiin is a small, cozy cafe that is a must-visit if you are looking for great coffee and healthy snacks. I can particularly recommend the Dirty Chai – a perfect mix of spicy chai and espresso – as well as the Acai Bowl, which is not only fresh and delicious, but also visually appealing. The banana bread is also simply excellent. If you appreciate a relaxed atmosphere and healthy options, this is the place for you!

The food was exceptionally good and well presented, very fresh. I will eat there again. A lovely clean establishment.

We had brunch here. Great spot! Food is tasty and kimchi pancakes are a good choice if you don't feel like a typical dish. Service is friendly. Just don't sit here if you are in a hurry... We did have to wait a while for the food. We don't mind that so much, but it may not be for everyone.

The Strawberry Matcha is unfortunately a disappointment, not much matcha and very watery/bitter.

Always high quality drinks and desserts, if you don't mind waiting a bit longer but not longer that the usual Dutch service. Therefore 5 stars.

The matcha was too milky, lots of ice so watery as well. We needed to sit outside because it was busy. Outside it's not very aesthetically pleasing. We wanted to order food but the kitchen was closed for specifically is because it was busy (it was lunch hour, it should be expected and you should be prepared for rush hour?), but saw other customers getting full plates of food, while me and my friend just both wanted a cinnamon roll (we saw these inside good to go...). The service was fast, but the waitress switched between English and Dutch and we were very confused what language to use, as she spoke both well. Overall, wouldn't recommend for lunch hour, but would probably recommend for less busy hours and for a coffee, don't get the matcha. Another note: you are only allowed using your laptop here between 11 and 15.

Outrageous prices and what an unfriendly staff!!

Super tasty pastries! Really highly recommended. No dry stuff or standard pastries, but all really tasty. Iced latte is also recommended.

We are not the only ones going out on this sunny Ascension Day. The terraces are overflowing. We find a spot on the windowsill at a location where a garage was located for many years. We order a Chick'n O'clock and the Tuscan. The sandwiches are very richly filled. Spread with Pesto, unfortunately too much and the cheapy version with a lot of oil. Conclusion: sandwiches soggy! The flat white and the smoothie are delicious. The owner now runs the entire shop (except the kitchen) on his own, his colleague was scheduled until 12.30 pm. #respect. We are still amazed at how this catering jack-of-all-trades keeps all the balls high and manages to keep a cool head on this summer day.

Had to wait a long time before we could order. Asked twice at the bar if we could order. After an hour the food came. Food was fine. Cappuccino was very weak and lukewarm.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t really impressed by the food. It was okay but that’s it. My poached egg was not runny but rather solid or creamy. I also ordered a smoothie which I then discovered was just juice from a bottle. The food took quite long but that might have been because it was a Saturday at lunch time. However, the staff were very nice and drinks did come quick.

Lots of light, quiet atmosphere, friendly service, we had to wait a while for the food but it was tasty and the ratio of açaí to fruit was very good. The American pancakes were delicious and you could choose how much maple syrup you added, which was nice. The tea was also okay and the brownie tasty (but a bit heavy). Good for a pleasant morning breakfast!

OK, it's definitely a palce for lazy breakfast or lunch, but lazy doesn't mean you need to wait 40 minutes for your order. It was Sunday and definitely a peak time, but it took a lot to get our drinks and our food orders at the table. Price/quantity ratio is quite high. Would not go back.

Er vroeg in de morgen nog niet echt sfeervol maar wel lekker DAT deze zaak vroeg open is. Vlotte en vriendelijke bediening. Bananenbrood met extra zoetigheid wat al Te zoet, vullingen knippen er bijna uit. Overall wel een plezierige zit.

We ordered a brownie, lemonlime cake and Latte Machiatto. Everything was served in one plate. With the forks sticked in them! The brownie was awful! It was all soft and sticky. It had no crust at all. It felt like very bad chocolate mousse but it was almost raw brownie dough. I could not hold it. When I asked the waiter he just said it was a soft brownie. When I told him again he told me he would not charge it. The lemonlime cake was not done at the top. You could not eat it. Luckily the frosting was great. The Latte Machiatto was in a small glass. Too much espresso, too little milk. There was no sugar served and I was not asked if I wanted sugar. I had to ask for it. The bear is the best thing in this place.
