We celebrated my husband's birthday this evening. We received a wonderful welcome from the owner himself. A top-notch team in terms of hospitality. Everything is open for discussion regarding food preferences. We felt very welcome. Thank you, Pieter and team.

I am gluten-free myself and ate a delicious croquette and frikandel here. Top-notch cafeteria, highly recommended for both gluten-free and non-gluten-free people.

You enter a 'normal' snack corner, but if you walk further, you enter a very atmospheric eatery where you can enjoy a pleasant family dinner. We had a schnitzel plate with peppercorn cream sauce, a stewed fries plate, and a spicy chicken plate, and they were very well received. Perhaps a piece of lettuce with tomato and cucumber would have added some color, but that is a matter of personal taste. The service was very warm and cheerful; if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stop by again.

We regularly pass through Scherpenzeel on our way from Leusden, and suddenly our eyes fell on the cozy atmosphere of De Pitstop. We looked at each other and said almost simultaneously: "Shall we make a quick pit stop?" So, hop inside, picked out a nice spot, and both ordered a fried egg sandwich and a drink. The eggs were perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and delicious. While eating, we noticed that we could still sit outside on the terrace in the sun. We savored the rest of the meal there with an ice cream. On TV, we always see during Formula 1 that a pit stop has to happen as quickly as possible. Our tip: "Don't do that here, but take your time, just relax!"

There were 3 of us. We had 3 different menus and the food was absolutely delicious. It also looked very well presented. Truly a top-notch place. Nice service. Polite and friendly. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back!!

I didn't eat there on the spot, so I can't say much about the atmosphere. I did get the best hamburger here, though, and I'm going back for it before I go home. So far, I haven't had a better hamburger anywhere.

A milkshake fell on me, everything went messy. They wanted to refund everything, even on my new order when I only wanted an extra milkshake as compensation. After I refused this, they gave me 6 scoops of ice cream as a surprise. Legends and what a professional team, support these people. The Pitstop is back in prime time.

Great food, generally good service, and a warm atmosphere. The soft serve ice cream is exceptionally tasty, very soft and creamy, a true treat for the taste buds.

The food was okay, but the large fries were disappointing in terms of size; they looked more like medium, and all the fries were dipped in the sauce, making them soft and soggy. They were delivered quickly, though, within 15 minutes!

I picked up four meatball sandwiches today. When I arrived to give them to a friend, I discovered there were no sandwiches. Secondly, the meatballs weren't warm. I was disappointed, even though the restaurant's appearance is quite professional.

What a great addition to Scherpenzeel! I tried the XXL burger on Friday: highly recommended, deliciously prepared with all the trimmings. The atmosphere is great, thanks in part to the fact that they're local businesses with staff from the village. The service deserves a solid 10. When I mentioned that I found the burger a bit salty (I'm not used to much salt), they didn't make a fuss; they were actually helpful and even let me taste the sauce separately for comparison. That's what I call customer service. You'll leave here with a smile!

Highly recommended! We recently celebrated an anniversary party at the venue. It was fantastic! Pieter helped us plan the evening, and everything was perfectly organized: the venue, the food, the service—everything was perfect.

Fast delivery, friendly staff and good food

Just ordered food online and haven't received anything after an hour and a half. I called and they took action right away. They remade the order and added two milkshakes and a gift certificate as an added bonus. Excellent service!

We had a wonderful evening with our family (our children are 5 and 1). The restaurant has a charming and stylish atmosphere, and the service was truly attentive and helpful. The children were pleasantly surprised with their Kidsbox, and we enjoyed delicious burgers and perfectly cooked fries. Highly recommended!

The fries were not tasty and very greasy, it looked like they were left over fries from the previous customer and had been thrown back into the deep fryer.

It's way too busy on Friday and Saturday nights. It's impossible to get ahead of the line. Ordering in advance is still possible, though it takes a bit longer. Ordering at the restaurant takes a really long time. And they don't have time for eating in?

Nice, clean snack bar. Friendly staff. My daughter and I had fries, stew, and fries with mayo here. The stew was excellent, but the fries were a bit dry, but that's not a problem with stew.

A very bad experience with this snack bar. I ordered 3 portions of fries without sauce, 1 vegetable croquette, 2 goulash croquettes, and a cheese soufflé. • The 3 portions of fries were barely enough for 2 people. • The vegetable croquette wasn't included at all. • The goulash croquettes: the girl behind the counter didn't even know what they were, and what I finally received was soggy, greasy, and tough—even the vending machine at a station delivers better. • Only the cheese soufflé was okay. All in all, a major disappointment. I won't be returning.

Funny name for a snack bar. You can easily park right outside. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. Of course, you can also enjoy an ice cream.

Stupid place. Never got our drinks. Terrible food. Very few fries for the price. €5.50 for regular fries is ridiculous, isn't it? Also, the order was wrong twice and the wait was way too long. Simply one star. I'll never go there again. A lousy place.

Last Tuesday, we had a delicious meal (The Original Schnitzel Menu) at the restaurant. Top quality, and the service was excellent. Definitely recommended!

During our stay in Scherpenzeel, we made two pit stops for a delicious, generously sized 😉 ice cream. Excellent.

We were one of the first guests to celebrate our mother's 80th birthday in the new room behind the Pitstop. A very atmospheric space where you can also sit outside. The catering/service was completely taken care of by a group of nice young people. Our mother had the night of her life and we enjoyed it immensely together.

We have eaten here before, which was always to our liking. Also regularly had an ice cream. At the end of the afternoon we decided to eat something simple and sat outside at the back. Ordered food and I thought the bill was quite high and asked for an explanation. Oh yes, you ordered 2 plates of fries and that is more expensive than in a container. Well, that could have been mentioned, but yes, the lady I ordered from was not exactly friendly either. For me, the fun was quickly over. When the food was served, we were asked if we wanted cutlery, yes, do we have to eat the lettuce with our fingers?? That lettuce tasted bitter, was certainly not fresh!! Conclusion: everything is far below par!! Maybe we will have an ice cream from you again someday, but you can eat the fries yourself!!

Pff ordered farmers fries I think it's with mushrooms, bell pepper, onion, bacon and a fried egg That's how it's also very neatly on your menu What you get is a peanut fry, with a brown concoction of mainly mushrooms, 2 flakes of onion, one and a half grains of bacon, 0.0 bell pepper and certainly no egg Costs 7.95 for......nothing I went back to the pit stop and ordered farmers fries again And I can't say otherwise, that's how it should be, completely fine The new owner has understood it a bit better than the previous one Great, keep it up

Edit in response to the owner's response: we did not receive this information and therefore the option at checkout yesterday. What should actually be a plus for good service, turned out to be a minus for us. There is no indication anywhere that there are two options to choose from. We stopped here for an ice cream and fries war. When ordering, the question was 'eat here or take away?', this concerned the fries. Because we wanted to sit outside for a while, we said 'eat here'. We were then able to pay almost ten euros. When I asked what that was, they said the fries were 5.75. I asked where the price came from, because it didn't say so on the sign. "That's because you eat it here, because then you can order more for free," it was stated, as if we should have known this fact. Completely flabbergasted, I accepted this fact and we sat down. It then took more than 15 minutes before the fries were ready. There was a small piece of lettuce on the plate and the portion of sauce was not even enough for half of the generous portion of fries. The fries were fine, warm, not too salty and a generous portion. But that's the only positive thing I can say about it. The case also looked neat and clean. But we won't come here spontaneously again.

Review 2025: I came in and there was immediately an unpleasant atmosphere, employees were very pushy and aggressive, then I ordered a MEDIUM Milkshake and I got a small milkshake but paid for a medium. Tonight I had dinner with my family at De Pitstop. The Pitstop is a cozy place, where the menu has plenty to offer for everyone in the family. Service is smooth and friendly. Highly recommended!

First time ordered after it was taken over. Very bad experience. Chicken satay dry and burnt. Hard to find satay sauce. Fries tasted like old frying fat, or something else had been fried in them. Order was also incomplete. I also reported it by telephone. I felt really bad about it last night.

What a terribly bad tent this is. Your order is never ready, but it is always incomplete. You will quickly wait 20 minutes if you are present at the agreed time, after which you will be sent home with an order that is incomplete.

I ate at the pit stop, but upon entering my order was taken by a young man. I asked him what was in the three-course menu, unfortunately he could not give me an answer. He did not know. I asked another employee who did. I could have known, but unfortunately they no longer had it. I told her that it was still on the site and that it was better to take it down because that's what I had come for. She said she would pass it on, but it is still on the site. The food was also served on a zord bread board with a piece of paper on it. I didn't like that. I also reported that and the snitzel itself was quite greasy. I also said that at checkout. What I noticed was that very young people work there. and I have nothing against that, but I still expected someone who knows more, I thought it was a shame because in the past last year I liked to come to the pit stop, but now I first think about whether I still want to eat there. It's a pity that things have gone backwards quite a bit

What a bad tent this has become

Excellent Schnitzel, too many french fries, good cole slaw. We returned 3 days later to repeat.

Het was in 1 woord geweldig. Vrij onverwacht had ik zin om met mijn gezin lekker te eten. Nou, dat was het zeker. Super vriendelijke bediening, snel geserveerd en wat we voorgeschoteld kregen was geweldig. Mooie menu’s en erg zorgvuldig opgemaakt. En de smaak was top. Mark (de eigenaar) is echt geweldig. Zeer aan te bevelen.

Voor nij geen kwalitaria meer geef mij maar gewoon een ouderwets snackbar. Prijzen zijn vergeleken met andere op het dorp veel te duur en wat je krijgt is gewoon droevig. Daarbij op de picknickvalley betaalde ik 5 euro voor 2 kleine bolletjes ijs.Daarbij in de zaak vroeg ik om een frinkadel met ketcup en kreeg curry

Prima voor een ijsje of iets snels, maar ff zitten zou ik afraden. Onpersoonlijke sfeer, trage service en het eten is er vaak matig.

Saus zat er niet bij gebeld zouden komen bre ngen na 10 minuten nog geen saus eten inmiddels koud. Gebeld dat de saus maar moesten vergeten en dat mijn eten koud was. Sommige stukjes vlees waren ook aangebrand. Alleen wat goed was was de milkshake en frika del was lauw maar wel te eten. Er moey beter gelezen worden saus wordt vaker vergeten.

Ook bij een flinke drukte goede service. Snel geholpen en prima kwaliteit snacks.

Niet tevreden. Er waren nauwelijks klanten , geen drukte en dan toch thuiskomen met verbrande nassieschijf en keiharde gehaktbal. Na tevredenheid een passende oplossing aangeboden

Ondanks dat het eventjes druk was werd ik goed en best snel geholpen. Komen regelmatig hier als we naar de camping gaan in Renswoude. Wij komen uit Rotterdam.

Goed gegeten hoewel de hoeveelheid patat bij onze schnitzel wel erg overdadig was en de bestekde champignonsaus daarentegen wat karig. Verder goed voor elkaar.
