Great place, a little piece of Italy in the heart of Javastraat. Food is great and authentic, plus Sam & team are very welcoming. Overall highly recommended, I'm a huge fan of their lasagna, tiramisu :)

Extremely bad, disrespectful service, there is 1 person serving the entire restaurant, which is actually standard. We waited 60 minutes for our food, more than half of our food was cold and had clearly been ready for a very long time. When we said something about this, we were angrily rejected. The food that was still warm was tasty, but definitely not recommended!

Really nice kind of 'cantina' atmosphere with AWESOME pizza! 10/10 I would go back here for another lunch or dinner bite. Our waitress was really young and still finding her way, but I'm sure she'll get there soon. If you enjoy really fresh and tasty food, this is where you want to go.

We ordered pizza and it was burnt. We called, explained that it was burnt and they hung up. Didn’t call back. Normally it’s great, but this was not okay.

Lovely little Italian restaurant on a vibrant street away from the center. The tiramisu was exceptionale!

Good pizza al taglio, square portions cut from a large rectangular pizza, with thick and spongy dough, and a variety of toppings. I loved the Negroni cocktail, and the Baladin craft beer, my kid liked the lasagna. Service was a bit slow and chaotic, you shouldn't go there in a hurry. Kid friendly, with toys and instruments, it can be a bit noisy, and that is good. When the kids are taken to bed, a different atmosphere is created.

Delicious food and attentive owner! Doesn't accept foreign cards so keep that in mind.

Amazing pizza! Dough like it's made in Italy

Really nice place with authentic Italian food. It’s not busy and it has a super chill vibe (not so wannabe fancy like many restaurants in the Netherlands.) prices are okay and wine is good too. Sometimes they don’t have everything on the menu. Get the pizza platter and the tiramisu! They’re both really great! Outside they have some small tables to sit and inside it has a cost retro vibe

In Amsterdam you can't help but stop at the forge, then Samantha is fantastic ♥️

Everything was fresh and delicious! Plus, super nice atmosphere. Loved it!

We had a terrible experience at this restaurant and I will never eat at this place again. We were a party of five persons. Two of us ordered pasta of the day which was vegetarian and we don’t eat meat. After a long wait we got pasta with meat and they told us that the pasta of the day was actually finished. By that time the rest had already had their food and had almost finished their meal. We asked then that why didn’t they told us earlier that the pasta of the day was finished. They said they just found out or that it had gone bad or something. Very strange explanation. Then they told us that we can order pizza but we do need to pay 50% of the meat pasta we didn’t order. At this moment I got angry and sais that no way we are going to pay for some food which we didn’t order. And we didn’t pay for it. Then we ordered the pizza. We had to wait for an hour for the pizza and then they came and told us that the pizza had burnt and that they have make a new one. People around us kept getting their food an finally after another half an hour we got the pizza. We didn’t get any compensation. Very unprofessional. I would say save the trouble and don’t go to this place.

Had lunch with a colleague. What a great restaurant this is. Very tasty coffee and delicious savory cake! The owner is extremely customer-friendly and can talk very passionately about his products and food. Highly recommended!

Delicious and made with love. The menu is simple but changes regularly, everything is handmade and very tasty. Good to know: the pizza is a variant that is very popular for lunch in Italy, but is a lot less known in the Netherlands and other countries, so it is very different from your regular round pizza (I love it myself). The lasagna, parmigiana and savory pies are also very tasty, and there are also tasty and not so well-known beers and soft drinks from Italy. Recommended!

The gentleman who took our order was so polite and the pizzas were delicious! Perfect size for the price; we each got one and shared a third one. By the time we arrived, they had sold out of the particular dessert we wanted, but that's how you know it's all fresh! Delicious and can't wait to come back!

Cute Italian place with authentic food. The taste and atmosphere remind me of when I visit my friends from Lazio. Service is very helpful, even when I kept walking in and out ordering dish by dish. Pizzas are Roman style, so great for takeaway too.

I'm just saying that I never eat Italian abroad. Because I was a small child, on the first evening I came looking for a plate of pasta at least for her before looking around for something else... after trying the forge I came back here for dinner 3 evenings out of 4. It's a restaurant I would go to for dinner even if it were in Italy, pizza is something sensational (by the slice) but what is really surprising is the cuisine, both pasta dishes and parmigiana are EXCEPTIONAL!! Highly recommended! Always book because it can be very crowded on weekends and with not too many seats!!

La spartanitá del ristorante è ampiamente surclassata dalla qualità del cibo. Mai avrei pensato di mangiare delle pappardelle al ragù di salsiccia, una parmigiana e della pizza così buone fuori dall’Italia. Mia figlia di un anno e mezzo è anche impazzita per l’angolo dedicato ai bimbi in fondo al locale. Spartano da vedere come già detto ma di qualità superiore a tutti gli altri ad Amsterdam, andateci stra tranquilli quando avete bisogno di tornare a mangiare cibo vero.

Good food, but somewhat messy service

Really bad service. They have no respect for their customers. We waited for the food for 1,5 hours and 30 minutes to order. The waiter laughted at us when we tried to ask him why we didn’t receive any cutlery nor napkins or when we told him that the waiting time was really long (which made us late for our plans). I will never come back here.

Mediocre quality food. Pizzas are dry and have little taste. If you order a side salad for €5 you get a bowl of iceberg lettuce and tomato slices. No olive oil, balsamic vinegar or anything like that. The cheese platter is nothing special and you don't get anything to dip with. Ordered Focassia but seemed to be old. In short; there are restaurants nearby that have better quality.

Ottima pizza al taglio, locale simpatico e informale

For me, this is the best pizza in Netherlands! Most people are aware of the Neapolitan pizza (and its derivatives) and kinda assume that it's the mother of ALL pizzas. Well, it's not quite so, various forms of pizza existed everywhere in the Italian peninsula for a very long time (sometimes they were not even called pizza, but they were there). This particular type of Roman pizza, it's made in tray, then cut into squared pieces. And it's sooooo good! Besides the tasty toppings, the base is puffy and crunchy at the same time, that I could eat only the base and be happy!

It is good, a lot more if you consider the price! So cheap for a city where rent is 4 digits!

Authentic Italian joint serving homemade meals - we tried the pizza starter, the pasqualina, a large Parmesan salad and farfalle al ragù. Everything was well done and delicious! Service is very friendly too ;)

Nothing special, it's aimed at students. Service was stressed with a big group. And some of the basics were not available...

Takeaway Lasagna 14 euros Very nice taste but far too little portion

Na de goede recensies gelezen te hebben zijn we hier gaan eten met het gezin. Lang verhaal kort: erg middelmatig tot slecht. De pizza’s waren ok, de bediening zeer ondermaats. Slecht restaurant, kom hier niet meer terug en raad het ook niet aan.

Great al fresco dinner with a few tables outside. Thick squared pizzas. We wish they had vegan cheese too but it worked. We got the 3 kind combo which was very good!

Ottimi panini con pane focaccia e ingredienti freschi. Personale cortese e bel locale.

Super tolles liebes Personal! Preise sind total gerechfertigt für dieses Essen! Der Teig vom Focaccia war luftig, saftig und das ganze Essen, der hausgemachte Eistee und die Atmosphäre war phänomenal! Super süße Atmosphäre. Nur zu empfehlen, da man für 4,70,- satt werden kann bei einem kleinen Hunger.

The food is incredible and the inside is so inviting. The staff is phenomenally attentive, Lorenzo really was the cherry on top of an already amazing experience. So good to be somewhere where people care and take their time, in addition to some of the best Italian food we’ve had!

Wij waren met een groep van 5, gereserveerd om 18:15. Misschien was de staf onderbemand want pas een uur later konden we bestellen, inclusief het eerste drankje.. wij hadden op zich geen haast, doch een drankje had er wel in gekund. Het eten kwam gelijk met het voorafje. Prima plank met worst olijven en kaas. De pizza's vielen ons wat tegen. Veel dik brood, wat mij meer deed denken aan een stuk Turks brood uit de oven en weinig belegd. Ik kon de passie van de website niet terug vinden op mijn bord. Enfin, de ambiance was huiselijk gezellig en voor ons een oké ervaring voor wat we daar kwamen doen. Overigens zagen de gerechten op andere tafels er best lekker uit een volgende keer zou ik voor een quiche of taart gaan.

La Fucina is één van mijn lievelingsplekken om te eten in Amsterdam. Het eten is goed en lekker, de bediening is altijd vriendelijk en de sfeer is ook top. Of ik nou met een vriendin, met mijn partner of met het gezin (incl. drie kleine jongentjes) kom, het is altijd fijn.

Had a nice lunch here. We enjoyed the authentic Italian food and the staff was very friendly! Will definitely come back.

Super plekje om gezellig wat te eten!

Confesso di giudicare male gli italiani che mangiano italiano all'estero perché visitare un paese significa conoscere le tradizioni culinarie. Tuttavia, dopo un po' di giorni avevo il bisogno di ingredienti semplici. Mi sono imbattuta in questo piccolo locale in una traversa vicino mercato dei fiori. Francesca ci ha accolto e sfamato secondo tradizione. Allego foto . Da consigliare!

We hebben hier met tien mensen heerlijk gegeten. Snelle en vriendelijke bediening, en echt italiaans eten. Super foccacia, heerlijke antipasta, heerlijke authentieke pizza, top lasagna met pompoen, tagliatelle met herten stoofvlees, goede burrata en prima wijn. Nagerechten natuurlijk heerlijk, oa. tiramisu en pannacotta.Een bezoekje waard.

Riquísima comida y atención inmejorable. Me sentí muy cómoda y super bien atendida ! Sharon la chef divina una costarricense amorosa como buena latinoamericana. Ame ese lugar!
