La Galleria Kurhausplein in Wijk 07 Scheveningen

I thought I'd found a good restaurant to eat at, but unfortunately, the pasta sauce was just plain tomato sauce with a bit of ground beef mixed in. If they'd used a supermarket sauce, it would have been more flavorful. The service was okay, but they could have been a bit more attentive. I might have gotten rum in my chocolate milk. Unfortunately, I paid the bill without checking it, which we always do, but forgot to do due to stomach problems. At home, we saw that the bill was actually for a €60.00 bottle of wine. Well, that was a real disappointment, considering the diarrhea I got from it. They certainly didn't deserve it.

Mice running all over the place (at least their outside terrace). Weird smell inside. We didn't feel comfortable in terms of hygiene. One of us had threw up a few hours after having had their pizza. I suspect they used cheese that was past its expiration date, as there was so much cheese on the pizza. Like they just wanted to get rid of it.

I've been here a few times over the years and it's always been good, but this time (just before Christmas) it was disappointing. Bruschetta was flavorless, pasta carbonara was flavorless, ravioli had way too much sauce. It's a shame. The pizza was good.

Because of its location, we decided to eat here before seeing a show at the AFAS Circus Theatre. We had decent pizzas, but the service was truly awful. Their disinterest is palpable; they simply don't look at you. Their plates have been empty for twenty minutes, and they just walk past you. Don't they need their customers here? It's a shame, but next time we'll happily walk a bit further...

Although the restaurant didn't seem busy, the staff were visibly under immense pressure (they were literally running their legs off). It seemed there weren't enough people on the floor to handle the workload. We had to wait a long time to place our order, and that felt ambivalent: you see how hard everyone is working, but at the same time, it affects the guest experience. At one point, it almost felt awkward to raise our hand to order something that, of course, shouldn't feel that way as a guest. That made it even more disappointing. It's a real shame, because the place itself has so much potential, but unfortunately, that didn't pan out tonight.

Bad experience. An insult to Italian cuisine. The pizzas were undercooked, tasteless dough balls. The appetizers were sparse. The wine was also average. The bill was €103.50.

My second visit to La Galleria Kurhausplein was noticeably better than the first. This time we had plenty of time before heading to the Circustheater, allowing us to relax, chat, and enjoy a good meal. It was busy, but the team worked quickly, friendly, and efficiently. What adds to the atmosphere in winter is the indoor ice skating rink right next to the terrace on Kurhausplein. It gives the place a cozy, almost festive feel. A place you'll be happy to return to.

We had a terrible experience. We asked if we could grab a quick pizza because of the presentation, and they agreed. But then we were given two raw calzone pizzas, which was a bit much. We both got very sick from the food that evening. We were still able to pay €53 for two pizzas and a few drinks. The service wasn't very friendly after our complaints about the food, and it took a very long time to get it back.

The food: The spaghetti la fruit de mere (seafood) is absolutely recommended. Very tasty and flavorful! A bit spicy, but sublime!! The lasagna wasn't that great; it tasted as if it had been frozen and then reheated in the oven with a sauce on top (as if it came from a ready-made supermarket). The service: When you enter, an older host looks at you rather disinterestedly and grumpily, as do two other waitresses at our tables. They look very grumpy, as if they weren't even interested. Although there was one waiter serving us, he was very pleasant and showed up with a nice smile! Hence the 4 stars for him. The other three could do with their attitudes. My father asked them a few questions about the restaurant and their origins to try and cheer them up and hint that they could improve their attitudes. The atmosphere: The terrace is cozy and warm, with lovely fires. The interior is also beautiful, but very noisy. We were seated next to a table with so many children. It might be better to place the children separately in the restaurant. We could barely hear each other.

This was truly awful!! We paid over €1000 for a children's party, for absolutely terrible service!! We had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks to finally arrive. The tables weren't cleared, even though everything was full of empty glasses and bottles. We indicated at 5:00 PM that we wanted our food at 6:30 PM, but were finally told at 7:00 PM that they had to start serving a group of more than 20 people. The annoying thing is that not a single staff member spoke Dutch. All in all... Never again for us!!

Went here for dinner with my wife and daughter after the theater show. A salami pizza for my daughter and sandwiches for my wife and myself. The sandwiches weren't good. The pizza crust was as soft as paper, and the toppings (cheese and salami) just slid off. The service was fine, and the restaurant was reasonably well-decorated. But the food was just really bad.

We went out for dinner on Saturday after a super fun children's party. It was an anticlimax to what should have been a lovely afternoon. We were completely ripped off. The service and the "food" were subpar, and we went home with heartburn and a bit dejected.

Fantastic atmosphere, absolutely top

The staff was very welcoming and the atmosphere was great :) If I had to choose something to complain about, it's that it's not always clear how big the meal is. My pasta (frutti de mare) was a huge serving, while my friend's lasagna was pretty small. The food was enjoyable though, so there's not much to complain

We were greeted by a snappy older man who sent us to our seats and then threw a menu on the table (you should really be leaving by then), but we figured things would get better soon... Unfortunately, he's still a jerk! We ordered a pizza, which was decent, normal, but without an extra glass of wine, a second glass of wine was a problem. After finishing the pizza, we didn't get the chance to order dessert. After a 20-minute wait, we went to pay, which was another unpleasant encounter with the rude waiter. For us, we'll never go back to this restaurant!

During normal busy times this is a good Italian restaurant with tasty dishes and friendly service. When it is busy there are gaps in the service: the tomato sauce is missing, the cook can put too much chili in a dish, it takes a long time for your dish to arrive. Not all at once, but annoying enough to spoil your evening. So: choose your moment well, see if it is not too busy and enjoy your food and drink here during the quiet times.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants. Parmigiana is the best appetizer that makes the best harmony with Risotto salami champignon as the main meal.

The fish platter for two was very, very difficult for the price. Four pieces of seafood each and some vegetables for a whopping €56. The flavor wasn't really adequate for the price. The side dishes offered with the platter weren't convincing either. Unfortunately, the service also left a lot to be desired. The ambiance and location were excellent. But honestly, you'd be better off going 500 meters further to the beach, where there are tons of restaurants.

Bad food, very bad service. We spent an evening there with 10 people and, in my opinion, made a considerable amount of money. They invited us to a drink on the house, which added a little extra to the bill. On the second day, we had ice-cold lasagna to take away, and we simply handed it over to reception. Definitely not a recommendation!!!

My girlfriend and I spent a week at Scheveningen beach. We went to the following places during the first half of the week. (Shoarma & More Grillroom, BIGBELL, BROOKLYN, Steam, Westewind) My girlfriend wanted Italian pizza one night, but that was the only one open. We sat on the outside terrace where we noticed a mouse. I reassured my girlfriend that we were eating pizza and not Jerry's. We ate the 30 euros pizza, which was spoiled and we got food poisoning. I don't know how much she saved on that 30 euros pizza, but it ruined two people's vacation. So I definitely don't recommend it, places like that shouldn't be open.

Very friendly service, good house wine and the Rib Eye with fried vegetables is very tasty and worth the money.

Nice location. Food not really special. Had pizza with seafood. Only shrimp and tuna were edible. The rest not tasty. Squid very very tough. Got pain in my jaws from chewing. Not a second time unfortunately.

We hadden zin in een leuke avond uit in het Italiaanse restaurant La Galleria. Het werd een teleurstelling. Het eten , een Mixed grill voor 2 personen was smaakloos. Zowel het vlees als de aardappels en de groente. Geen aanrader.

The pizza's and pasta's we ordered were good. The seafood pizza we ordered was in the middle a bit too wet (I have noticed this before in Dutch pizzeria's) making the pizza bottom a bit too soggy in the middle. But all in all the taste was good. What I didn't like was the attitude of one of the waitresses. After we were seated in a corner location we didn't see anybody for 20 minutes while people near us who came later were served already. After trying to attract attention of several waitresses I went to approach the waitresses and asked if one could come to the table. One responded rather bitchy and said they knew exactly the status of each table. This came across as rather rude and spoilt a bit of a further pleasant evening. Don't forget who the customer is. Other waitresses were by the way very friendly and correct.

We were there for the second time today. Stylish ambience, very tasty food, great wines and the waiter (boss?) was super nice and accommodating. Clear recommendation. We would love to come back.

We were seated at a table near the toilets and when the door opened you could smell a chlorine smell. It took away your appetite. In addition, 3 out of 4 people at rafel. got their meals at about the same time and the fourth had to ask extra for her order. The other three were already halfway through their meal when the fourth got hers so we didn't order dessert or coffee afterwards and certainly didn't give a tip.

De pizza smaakte verbrand. De bodem was zo dun en slap dat het moeilijk eten was, de carpaccio had geen smaak en de patat was een bord simpele Vlaamse frieten. Er was totaal niks bijzonders aan dit Italiaanse? Restaurant. Ik schrijf nooit een review dus neem er een advies uit. Vriendelijk personeel, dat wel. Ze spreken geen Nederlands maar zijn beleefd en hebben een glimlach.

The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere, because there was live music all evening. Unfortunately, it took a very long time before we even received the menu (15-20 minutes) and when we ordered our drinks it also took far too long. We only received our drinks with the starter after we had asked and in the meantime no one had come to our table. When we got the starter, there was no cutlery on the table. Our empty plates had not yet been collected and the main course had already arrived, so that was a shame. I have nothing to complain about the food, because it was really tasty, so this restaurant is highly recommended if you want delicious Italian food!

What a disgrace this restaurant is! Pizza where the dough was undercooked, pasta that was cold and toppings on the pizzas not fresh. We sent the pasta back, but on second thought we should have done the same with the pizzas. In terms of drinks, the pornstar martini was way too sweet and not according to the original recipe. The red wine was severely overpriced for the quality and quantity, but fortunately the Negroni was reasonable. Then the waiter did not speak Dutch. And when they came to collect the empty plates and asked if everything was OK, when I wanted to make a comment, I said thank you and walked away. In short, it's a waste of money to eat or drink here.

Rancid polpetti (squid) as an appetizer. It had been in a salt and vinegar bath. Then risotto di zuco as a main course was very bland. There were no herbs in it. Just a cream of pumpkin, no chunks of roasted pumpkin or carrot for a bite. The kitchen has deteriorated considerably.

Friendly staff took us to a very busy table. Tomato brushetta delicious as an appetizer, pasta carbonara as a main course could be better. As well as the two cocktails, clearly not mixed themselves. Great for a quick bite.

Mijn ervaring in dit restaurant was helaas niet zoals gehoopt. We waren hier voor een date, maar na 45 minuten wachten zonder dat iemand onze bestelling opnam, ben ik uiteindelijk zelf maar naar het personeel gelopen. Dit zette meteen een slechte toon voor de avond. Ik had een ribeye steak besteld voor bijna €30. Achteraf misschien niet de beste keuze in een Italiaans restaurant, maar alsnog verwacht je voor die prijs een fatsoenlijk stuk vlees. Helaas kreeg ik een klein stukje bijna doorgebakken vlees van hooguit 150-200 gram, zeker niet de kwaliteit die je voor die prijs verwacht. Gedurende de hele avond is er geen enkele keer gevraagd of het eten smaakte of of alles naar wens was. Het viel ook op dat bijna al het personeel Engels sprak en nauwelijks oog had voor de gasten. Tijdens het hele diner is er geen enkele keer gevraagd of alles naar wens was of of het eten smaakte. Bovendien was het erg druk binnen, met veel drukke, huilende kinderen die de sfeer niet bepaald verbeterden. Het positieve? De wijn was lekker. Maar voor een restaurantbezoek verwacht ik meer dan dat. Al met al een teleurstellende ervaring, en ik zou hier niet snel terugkomen.

Amazing pizza with good service!

Really very bad restaurant. Where should I start? service -1. After 15 minutes someone came to ask if we wanted to order. After 25 minutes they brought us the drinks and food we ordered (cappuccino, water, 1x fries, proscutto toast,) and they only brought us! cappuccino without water and toast with cheese, no proscutto. They brought cappuccino and food at the same time. horror, first bring the drinks and then the food!!! Okay, they took our cheese toasts and exchanged them for prosciutto. That wasn't prosciutto, just ham, probably chicken! Why does the bill of exchange say proscutto when you put regular ham in it, huh??? The restaurant is in a nice location on the beach, but that's all. Because you could not serve us in the normal way, you made our evening unpleasant, by your inability to do your job and by your ignorance. I don't think you deserve that spot on the beach.

Friendly welcome, hospitality as you wish and as it should be. The service was equally friendly for the grandchildren and the food was of good quality. Definitely worth repeating!

La Galleria Kurhausplein is a charming restaurant ideally located on the square at the Kurhaus in Scheveningen. It offers an attractive ambiance, a wide range of high-quality Italian dishes, and excellent service. The pizzas and pastas are particularly tasty and fresh. The outdoor terrace is perfect for a sunny day, with a beautiful view of the square and the sea. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to a very pleasant dining experience. Definitely recommended for lovers of Italian cuisine!

Via de website gereserveerd en heerlijk met me moeder en zusje gegeten. Ideaal te combineren met het afas circustheater, want de bediening is snel en het gerecht kregen we ook heel snel. Smaakte heerlijk. Echte verse pizza en verse pasta! We konden kiezen tussen binnen en buiten zitten. Buiten is het heerlijk verwarmd met heaters en binnen ook goed verwarmd ondanks dat de deur open staat. Kortom echt een aanrader!!

Bediening was super vriendelijk maar de pizza was beroerd. Erg slecht. Alle pizza’s hadden plastic kaas smaak. Zo goedkoop. Daarnaast gen gezellige sfeer. Koud en wind.

The Italian restaurant on the boulevard in Scheveningen offers an average experience. Unfortunately, the food was unseasoned and wasn't really convincing. The service was friendly, but overall rather mediocre. It's okay for a relaxing evening on the beach, but I would have liked more flavor.

The spot is really nice in the evening and even outside in Autumn you are warm thanks to the heat lamp on the entire terrace. On the other hand, the fish for my part was really not great, I was expecting being so close to the sea to have super fresh fish, I regret that this was not the case and much overcooked on top of that. Otherwise, having a drink and sticking to traditional Italian dishes is still OK. It's up to everyone to form their own opinion.

The food is quite good. The place is great. But the order is a little late

We have eaten at this restaurant several times now. The food and the staff have deteriorated. Last night we had to wait a long time for service and for our order to be taken. Almost an hour passed before two types of pasta were served. The Panne e burro we ordered were tossed with garlic butter and olive paste. Delicious bread was served, but with herb butter or packaged butter. I ordered ravioli with burrata. The pasta was very tasty but for just under €17, 7 small dumplings were definitely not enough. On top was a burrata-like sauce from the bottle (we were able to see it because we had a seat at the counter with a view of the kitchen). The other salmon pasta we ordered felt like it was prepared with little love and little taste. Which is a shame, because you can still taste that it's cooked with fresh ingredients. The wine served was very tasty and is recommended.

Worst restaurant I've been to so far! After 30 minutes we were asked if we would like to order something to drink. We ordered spaghetti carbonara twice, it arrived after 8 minutes...weird! This restaurant has nothing to do with Italian cuisine or anything else! Portion too small for the price. Bacon tasted like nothing but rubber, neither crispy nor fried nor chewy! Cream from the tetra pack was used instead of egg yolk, the food was completely unsalted but there was a fat spot of pepper on the plate.. Advise everyone not to visit this restaurant

It's rare to give high marks, but this restaurant deserves 5 stars⭐️ I haven't eaten such delicious food in a long time. Everything was so good, hot and great served that I will come back to try more goodies 😊 On cold evenings, there are heaters outside, which give the atmosphere of this place.

An excellent restaurant! We spontaneously visited La Galleria and were very impressed. The bruschetta starter was the best we've ever had. Very good bread, perfectly seasoned tomatoes and fresh arugula. The main courses, both pizza and pasta, were perfectly seasoned, incredibly tasty and beautifully presented. The staff is very friendly and speaks English fluently. We will definitely come back when we visit Scheveningen again!

The food came after just 5 minutes, which is on the topic of “freshness”. The Penne Salmone didn't taste like anything and there wasn't really any salmon to be found. The salad with burrata was naked, without dressing or vinegar oil. The pizza was ok, but nothing more. The staff was the only positive thing in the store. I actually expect something different from an Italian.

Wat een genot! Mijn moeder en ik hebben hier heerlijke pizza en gnocchi gegeten! De gastvrouw was een snelle vriendelijke dame. Het interieur was sfeervol en mooi en rustig qua akoestiek (dit omdat sommige restaurants op de boulevard nogal open en heel erg rumoerig waren- voor prikkelverwerking als iemand als ik met longcovid niet fijn). We came here very often about 18 years ago, but when my father died we never went again because the memories were too difficult. Now, years later, I've been back a few times and it's still as nice as before. Delicious dishes and great service. We will definitely come here often again because it remains a nice place where you can enjoy delicious food.

Cozy Italian restaurant on the Kurhausplein. Within walking distance of the beach. We had dinner here with a group of 8 people and everything went smoothly. Extensive menu and the quality of the food is good. The furnishings could use some updating

After 25 years of eating all over the world, I'm used to the occasional lackluster food or service......but this was the worst experience ever! It is possible that the mixed grill is served cold... but if you report this properly, you will receive new food, an apology and perhaps compensation. Here you are turned away after clearing the table because you are said to be drunk ...... After we had just consumed 2 beers per person after a hard day's work. How does a place like this exist? Never felt so insulted, eaten so badly, didn't get a drink and had to pay the top price Really scandalous!

The food was OK, but it's unfortunate when you don't use fresh pasta when making Italian cuisine. We ordered the fresh pasta of the day and the meatballs were delicious but the pasta was not fresh. The atmosphere is OK but the interior is somewhat deteriorated. The portions were very generous.

We have been here a few days ago We ate our dessert and drank coffee with a nice glass of wine. We had a waiter from Greece who took the trouble to speak Dutch for us. A very nice spontaneous waiter. We had a very nice time with him. Always a friendly smile on his face. And when I came to visit he always asked how I was doing. We will definitely go back here because it is very friendly, cozy and the atmosphere is great. But for all the tasty drinks, coffee and dessert. Everything was great. Greetings from Veghel 🍀👍
