What a fantastic restaurant! A cozy atmosphere, cheerful and friendly service, and above all, delicious, surprising dishes!

A BIG PARTY!!! We were greeted with great enthusiasm by some super nice guys: one in the kitchen rocking the place out and one serving, keeping an eye on everything else. They cook with beautiful, fresh ingredients in a unique way, with tons of flavor. The food and drinks were fantastic. Congratulations 👌🏽 Hopefully see you soon!

La Locanda is one of those places where you walk in and think: "This is just right." The bar atmosphere and the lovely terrace, where there's always something happening. The food, the matching wines, and the service. Everything is perfectly coordinated. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try something different.

It was really tasty, not what I expected

We had a wonderful meal at La Locanda for our wedding anniversary. The dishes were delicious, and they were very accommodating to our allergies. We sat outside because of the beautiful weather, which meant there was a lot of noise from speeding traffic, but you'll undoubtedly be fine indoors. It's pricey and the menu is quite limited, but you definitely get quality food, and as mentioned, you can specify any special requests in advance (when booking).

On a beautiful Friday evening, four friends and I treated ourselves to the surprise menu. We went in with an open mind and left full of enthusiasm. We had a delicious meal, paired with a lovely wine. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

We found the price-quality ratio to be on the wrong side. For this price you really expect fine dining but this was disappointing.

On Whit Monday we had a wonderful meal at this fantastic restaurant. We were very hospitably welcomed by both the owner and the chef that evening. We were given the opportunity to sit at the table next to the kitchen, which was a great addition to the evening. We had nice conversations with the chef, who spoke passionately about his work. And in between he made pictures of dishes, which were also very tasty 🤩😍 We had chosen the 4-course surprise menu and were more than satisfied with it. It was also very nice that both the host and the chef thought along with us about the pace at which the dishes were served. We will definitely come back here again (or more often)!

Delicious food, the four-course dinner is super made and contains a lot of flavor. The chef could also make us happy with an alternative dish because we did not dare with one dish. Unfortunately, this restaurant is located on a very busy road.

Small restaurant, with delicious food and good service. We sat outside, along the water it is beautiful, but a lot of noise from the traffic. Due to the varied dishes with delicious matching wines we really had a top evening. With each dish and wine a nice explanation from the employees, you notice that they do their work with passion.

The food was great, the wine even better and the service great. Had a nice evening with the 2 of us. The terrace was reserved for dinner and if it got cold you could go inside, but this was not necessary. Are you in doubt? Definitely recommended.

Yes, absolutely. Very ambitious cuisine with delicious and surprising combinations. Very good quality of the ingredients and what was then cooked in the very small kitchen... hmmmmmm Perfect. As was the very friendly service. Pricey, but reasonable for the whole thing. Highly recommended!

What a great restaurant! First we had a drink on the terrace outside while our table inside was reserved for us. Enjoyed a delicious 4-course surprise menu. An extra dish in advance and of course afterwards we finished with a dessert and coffee. All delicious varied dishes (the size of an intermediate dish) that were well seasoned. The staff is well attuned to each other and knows what they are doing. They have expertise. Really had a very nice evening!

We had a High Wine here and had a sandwich beforehand and dessert afterwards. The food and service was really good. It is also nice that we have had a High Wine here 3 times in the past 4 months and received a completely different menu each time. That's why it remains fun to go. You get 4 nice wines and 4 entree-sized dishes. Really good price-quality ratio.

So incredibly relaxed, delicious and royal food. This is one of those places you want everyone to know it is and at the same time you want to keep it your own little secret. Hospitality like this is not found everywhere. And all dishes were to die for. We will definitely come back for the eggplant steak in particular. And the cheese dessert with brioche, and the cauliflower and the asparagus and the risotto ;)

Service was very friendly, the food was sublime! I myself have lactose intolerance. They paid careful attention to that. They had specially made a delicious dessert that I could eat. This property is definitely worth repeating!

Voor ons jaarlijkse vriendenuitje hebben we deze keer voor het knusse restaurant La Locanda gekozen. Na een heerlijk aperitief met oesters in de zon op het terras hebben we ons binnen laten verrassen met het 4 gangen Chefs menu aangevuld met bijpassende wijnen. De gerechten waren werkelijk heerlijk met als favoriet het gerecht met de asperges. Overigens verandert het menu iedere maand en wordt er dus met seizoensproducten gewerkt. De kaas en het zoete dessert maakte de culinaire avond compleet. Complimenten aan de chef en het jonge talent in de keuken.

We could choose from the menu with monthly changing dishes or a surprise menu. Because we like to be pampered, we opted for the chef's 4-course surprise menu. Waar op de wereld we ook zijn, we zijn altijd op zoek naar culinaire parels. Vandaag troffen we zo een verborgen parel in Alkmaar. La Locanda is een klein, overzichtelijk en sfeervol restaurant met open keuken(tje). Een wonder hoe uit zo'n klein keukentje zoveel geweldige gerechtjes komen. Het "chefs menu" was een schot in de roos. De bediening was zeer vriendelijk en vakkundig met precies de goede hoeveelheid informatie over de voortreffelijke gerechten. Uitstekende en verassende smaakcombinaties maken dat je niet wilt dat de avond stopt. Wij hebben genoten en kijken alweer uit naar het volgende menu van de chef.

2 people have a fish allergy, so instead of a piece of tuna they got a piece of rutabaga, which is very poor.

Gister met vrienden heerlijk gegeten. Wij kozen niet voor het menu dit keer. Alles wat werd geserveerd was heerlijk van smaak en een plaatje om te zien. Wij werden weer heel vriendelijk bediend en voelde ons echt thuis. Na een heerlijke avond van lekker eten en drinken gingen wij voldaan naar huis.

We had dinner here on a Tuesday evening, not busy but fine. The restaurant is small and friendly with a lady serving and 1 man behind the stove and it ran perfectly. The 4 course menu was delicious. Unfortunately no time for dessert, we'll do that next time!

Tasty food and good atmosphere!

It's difficult to write a review that does enough justice to the food, service and atmosphere. Because eating at La Locanda is more than a nice evening out. It is pampering at its best, where the culinary aspect comes first, but the approach by the staff also contributes greatly to the experience. There is a relaxed and almost friendly atmosphere while at the same time the professionalism of the entire team is clearly palpable. Nice! La Locanda works with a fixed menu (4 courses excluding dessert) but also offers the dishes separately. The menu changes monthly and can be viewed on the website. On the last day of January we were spoiled with Beef Tataki, Mushrooms, Risotto with prawns, and Guinea Fowl. All four delicious, but it is the mushrooms that I would like to highlight. I've tried eating mushrooms a few times in my life. I love them raw, but when heated they get a spongy structure that I don't like. And so I always choose a dish without mushrooms or ask if they can be left out. I therefore indicated to the hostess that I wanted to skip this course. The kitchen brigade heard this (later introducing themselves as Stef and Fleur) and they used every charm and every reason why I would like the mushrooms this time. With a 99% certainty that I would prove them wrong later, I took up the challenge. But I had to admit, they were really tasty! The method of preparation (in a beer batter) ensured that the mushrooms had a nice bite, were far from spongy and also had a very nice spicy taste. Thanks to Fleur and Stef, I have almost become a mushroom lover :-) (at least, especially these!). We look back on a wonderful evening. Was it cheap? No. Was it worth it? More than YES. Because actually, evenings like this are priceless. And worth repeating!

We try to eat here once a month. This is because the menu is different every month. This month's menu is exceptionally delicious. We told the staff that the menu really surprised us and that we will definitely come back again. Great place to eat with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Recommended

It was fantastic again. The food is really surprising and original. The wines with the meals were top notch. The service is very good.

Great meal. A chef's menu is served (so no choice). I thought it was a bit pricey compared to other establishments that serve these types of dishes.

The food was nothing special for the price we paid. The meat of one of us was very raw and was also left on the plate, we were only asked if that person had had enough. For us it is not worth repeating.

What a beautiful and cozy restaurant! Intimate and with a view of the small kitchen where the most delicious dishes were prepared.
