Blue District Restaurant in Centrum

We've walked past this restaurant a few times, and tonight we ate there for the first time. We should have done it sooner! The food was truly fantastic, the dishes were surprising, and the service was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back soon.

The staff gossips about you and is not ashamed to do so to your face. As icing on the cake, we were already looked away during dessert, because another group of people were coming to eat. Whether we could move to another table. Food was good, but the staff could do with an etiquette course.

We were invited by friends and this restaurant in this place was not known to us. A warm welcome upon arrival and 6 of us were given an oval table. A dinner menu with plenty of choice and there were also daily specials. We ordered wine by the bottle and it didn't stop at just one. Delicious dishes, so tasty right down to the dessert. Super friendly staff who work passionately in this restaurant. Thank you very much to the masters of the kitchen! It was a feast for the taste buds. In short, this restaurant is highly recommended 👍 (it was so nice together, unfortunately I didn't have time to take a photo 😉)

Good food with good company, what more could you want? Friendly people who make you feel welcome, for example. That worked out great, nice people with a personal approach. Two small things, eating from a deep plate is for soup, always involves a bit of fiddling with a knife and fork in one of those things with a bit of a high edge. And the high sofas look nice but are a nightmare! You can't put your feet on anything so they dangle all the time, with the feeling that you are sliding off, you miss the safety bar that you have to lower otherwise it would be a ski lift altogether. The bar for your feet is under the bench and is of no use to you. A round rod around the leg of the table would be a solution or mount the rod slightly forward, but this is not a solution.

We had been here before for coffee and lunch. We were immediately struck by the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. This was the case again tonight. People with expertise, who like to go the extra mile and think along. On Google I read in a review "being pampered for an evening" and that is completely true as far as we are concerned. People come to the table enough, but not too many. After the starter we were allowed to indicate when we wanted the main course on the table. No pushing drinks to increase the bill or to disguise the fact that the kitchen is too busy... just everything right on time. And then the menu... really slightly different than elsewhere. Sandwich in advance with two delicious dips (instead of the commonly offered herb butter, etc.). Clear explanation of everything that was served outside the menu. We had a delicious meal and drinks. The layout of the plates was a joy to see. And the price, especially in relation to the quality/quantity. We will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

The only point of note is that there is only one vegan variant for everything, I would be very curious if the kitchen would add even more variation to the menu.

Delicious food and drinks. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Let it be the owner himself who apparently did not like the fact that he had to walk twice for a glass of wine and also showed this as clumsy and unnecessary in the form of a 'joke'. A bit of a shame but otherwise enjoyed it.

A steak tartare, just enough to fill your hollow tooth. So not recommended. The unfilled plate is something from the eighties and therefore quite outdated. They know what to do with the price... A missed opportunity

Tasty and good food. Not a place to grab a quick bite, but a place to dine and enjoy the dishes. The kitchen really does their best to make the dishes slightly different and therefore much tastier. Delicious desserts, something a little different there too. In addition, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Appearance of an attractive brasserie. Spacious. Good friendly service. Tuna starter: delicious and tender. Steak as a main course, cooked rare and wonderfully tender.

These are one of those gems; delicious dishes, quick and pleasant service (where else can you find that) and a good atmosphere. We come here regularly and we are never disappointed. Close to the city center (within walking distance) and with a parking garage around the corner.

Nice restaurant somewhat "off the route". Great tasty food, good wine. A bit businesslike, but the food makes up for it.

We arrived unexpectedly. We asked for a table. Someone from the service said that will be difficult. When we wanted to walk away, a few people said to us, we are leaving and you can sit here. No sooner said than done. After being ignored for fifteen minutes we left. We go out to eat 3 times a week. Never been treated so unfriendly before. If we were not supposed to sit there, you can just report it and not stand at a distance with your arms crossed and gossip with your colleagues. If we could give 0 stars we would.

Great for sunny evenings!🌞 Fan of their outdoor terrace! Here you are in the right place from mid-afternoon until sunset! Plenty of sun, good food and enjoyment. High tables and low tables. Heater is turned on later in the evening and is half covered. Food is also good and the location itself is also suitable for nice photos! Delicious warm sandwich in advance! We shared the main course, it was already known in advance that this would be a large plate. We also shared dessert, a sweet ending without getting too full (saves 💸 too!)

Altijd heel hulpvaardig en klantvriendelijk. Gisteren, moeilijk kiezen, had ik een heerlijk voorgerecht van tonijn, inktvisjes en zeekraal. Zus had Paling op brioche met kaviaar die er niet alleen mooi uitzag maar ook prima smaakte. Vis met risotto, sausje en venkel heel goed op smaak. De Salade Niçoise was ook goed op smaak. Lekker glaasje wijn en om het af te ronden een Affogato. Het was een avond om nog eens over te doen.

I had a very good meal here. We ate a vegetarian version of the Tom Kha Kai as a starter. This soup was great! Meat of the day as a main course. In this case a piece of Bavette medium rear from the charcoal grill. Also tasty and beautifully presented on a plate with just enough accompaniments such as a "Smashed potato" where one crushed potato per person is fried in the frying pan. Nice different way of preparation. Accompanied by a delicious glass of Rioja, it was a joy to eat. This time cappuccino for dessert. Furthermore, we were in good company (8) and there was plenty of discussion material available. The service was sufficiently calm and understood the atmosphere at the table. Pace was just right

Ended up in this attractive restaurant in Alkmaar through an invitation. You can easily park in a nearby parking garage and the restaurant is easily accessible. We received a warm welcome and the service was very friendly and customer-oriented. The house beer they serve is delicious, in addition to all the other drinks. Then the food. After a nice drink we sat down at the table and our host had pre-ordered. So we had no idea what we were going to get. But the 5 or 6 course dinner was more than excellent. We got soup, fish, meat and vegetarian dishes from the kitchen. It was a delight of taste and diversities. The dishes melted the tongue and stimulated the taste buds considerably. We received an excellent explanation from our waiter for each course of small/medium snacks. Even if he came up with everything about the dishes, you would still believe it. But every dish was of high quality. Perhaps not unimportant. We had time for everything and were regularly asked if we wanted to talk further or if the next dish could already be served. In short! I will eat here more often, even though I am not really from the Alkmaar area. Highly recommended for everyone. Thank you Blue District for a great night out! Eating out at Blue District is not just a bite to eat. No, it was an exotic experience, with dishes that only a super chef can prepare. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and we had a table with a view of the lights of the city. In short, it was a pleasure and I will definitely go there more often.

Nicely decorated restaurant. Very friendly and smooth service, both men and women. The pornstar martini was very tasty, as was the bread beforehand. Unfortunately, we thought the mojito was a little less, more of a lemonade with sparkling water. The cauliflower dish was tasty, well flavoured. The umi sirloin steak was also very tasty, but they asked for medium, but it was served rare. The pecan pie dessert was excellent, especially the mandarin basil sorbet that came with it was very tasty. I think this dessert could be even better if the pecan pie is heated. All in all, a nice/good restaurant!

Pleasantly surprised last week. We had not made a reservation, but there was still room for 2 people, the place was well filled. The welcome was friendly and the service was exactly as you would want it. A menu with a lot of variety and what really stood out was the price! Of course, eating out has become much more expensive, but here you can still find starters and desserts for less than €10, a lot of attention was paid to the sauce and the meat was of excellent quality. If every business were to present itself as a Blue District, eating out would be affordable and fun again! See you soon!

Delicious food, excellent service and cozy place! Special dishes, but something for everyone and large portions. The only point of criticism was that the sauce with the fish of the day (Halibut) was a bit on the salty side. Everything else was excellent!
