La Pergola in Wijk 00 Baarle - Nassau

The food was fantastic! A few things: parking was in a poorly maintained lot. To get to the restaurant, we had to walk past a dumpster that reeked of rotting meat. Furthermore, we had to look at a dilapidated house. At the entrance to the terrace, there's a wine barrel with a matte tabletop that the staff uses for smoking. This is absolutely unacceptable in 2025. When we sat down at our table, we were initially ignored for fifteen minutes. Then a waiter came, put one piece of cutlery on the unset table, and brought the wine we ordered after another fifteen minutes. We then asked a waitress to take our order. After an hour and 20 minutes, the appetizer arrived because we had asked another waitress where our food was. This waitress, who had only been there three days, took care of us and ensured we received excellent service. Again: the food was excellent! The kitchen wasn't at fault. Tip: redistribute the staff to the terrace starting tomorrow. Invest in the entrance and make sure I can't smell that dumpster. Get rid of that smoking area.

Even though it was busy, we only had to wait a short time for our pizza. The pizza was incredibly fresh, and the customer service was excellent. Definitely recommended! Worth the half-hour drive.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere

I didn't eat there, but I picked up a delicious pizza from Fruti di Mare. It was ready within 20 minutes. There's an open kitchen where the chef whips up one deliciously fragrant, beautifully presented dish after another, made with fresh ingredients. Orders aren't taken to the tables until the chef has meticulously plated the plates. They're truly beautiful. And my pizza tasted delicious upon arrival at the campsite. I haven't had such a fresh and flavorful pizza in a long time. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. It was packed, and I didn't see any disgruntled faces from any of the guests, not even from the hospitable and friendly staff.

Nice pizzas! The restaurant also has a nice atmosphere and the service was good. We were with 4 small children and 7 adults, but the waiting time was fine.

Good food. But always get the feeling that you are not welcome. Starter finished and the next is immediately on the table. No chance to order a second drink.

The atmosphere is very comfortable and the service is excellent from the very nice Moroccan girl. We thank them because they fulfilled our request for pasta with truffles, which was not on the menu. The cook is also a Moroccan Muslim, and she taught us about the things that are not halal.

Despite the busyness, our group of eight received a very warm welcome. The service was attentive, warm, and well-organized – we immediately felt at home. The food was excellent: freshly prepared, delicious, and beautifully presented. The drinks were also perfectly matched and well-chilled. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable evening in a pleasant atmosphere – we'd love to come back!

Tonight at 9:15 pm ordered salmon, tuna and a fresh baguette with spreads. We live across the street but unfortunately have come to the conclusion that the bread is tough and black. Just called to say that the bread is old, a discussion is started that the bread is freshly baked in the morning, but that it is now evening. On my side, the question why are you selling it is still not answered the last time we order or eat here. We are very disappointed

Delicious authentic Italian dishes. We enjoyed Bruschetta, pasta Mallorredus alla campidanese and Tagliatelle con tonno al limone. As an accompaniment, a delicious Pinot Grigio. Despite the very busy evening, the hostess gave everyone attention.

Cozy Italian restaurant. Busy. The fish was nicely prepared. The attachments were few and really too cold. Some piped mashed potatoes on the plate (and some more attachments), were probably put on the plate too long in advance. Tiramisu was good, nothing special, with some watery whipped cream from a spray can. Very friendly service. Glass of wine was tasty.

We've had the most delicious pizzas in years! The visit felt like visiting wiyh friends.

‘s-Middags dronken we een biertje in café de Pomp in Baarle Nassau. Aan de stamgasten vroegen we waar we moesten eten. Zij gaven aan La Pergola. Er was enkel nog een plekje in het begin van de zaak, vlak naast afhaalloket, maar daar hebben we weinig overlast van gehad. Achterin het restaurant is een gezelliger gedeelte. Hele vriendelijke (italiaanse) bediening. Mooie kaart en het eten was erg goed. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Vroeger was dit het beste en gezelligste restaurant van Baarle Nassau, nu is het een drama. De chef/eigenaar denkt hij een Michelin chef is, arrogant praat allen over zichzelf. De bediening is rommelig en chaotisch en het eten is van zeer matige kwaliteit en zonder liefde gemaakt. Ik ga voorlopig niet meer terug.

Great food with good price. We enjoyed the food and later enjoyed hopping crossing the border line between the two countries.

Delicious food. Nice reception. It was quite busy in the store, there was a noisy group present, but the employee resolved this well. Starters of scampi and scallops were delicious, tasty, good portion. Main course bistecca and padelata di pesce. Both taste good, good portion. The bistecca was not cooked properly (medium rare instead of blue) but because the taste was good, we decided to eat it. The fried potatoes with truffle mayonnaise were also tasty. For dessert, the tartuffo nero and tiramisu were a delicious ending. Very pleasant service. Definitely a restaurant for us that we will return to.

You don't have to drive to Italy for real Italian food and hospitality. It can simply be found in Baarle-Nassau. Delicious antipasto, pasta or pizza. It is not large, so it is wise to make a reservation, otherwise you will miss the delicious dishes. The service is friendly and goes above and beyond. In addition, it is also very affordable. Too bad I don't live nearby otherwise I would go there every week.

Delicious food...not too expensive...brotherly service...just great!

A delicious pizzaria. Both the pastas and pizzas were very tasty. The staff was friendly and even though there were only two people serving and it was quite busy, everything went smoothly. The only small disadvantage was the changing table that hangs in the ladies' toilet cubicle and hangs so high that you stand with your nose in the diaper (but that's more of a whine 😁). All in all, definitely worth it to try some delicious Italian food

As a main course I had a Sardinian pasta. Personally, I thought the taste of the sausage was too overpowering and it was a shame that everything 'floated' in an inch of cooking liquid. My partner had ravioli with gorgonzola and nut filling, but the gorgonzola was nowhere to be seen. For dessert we had 3 scoops of Italian ice cream, but it was full of ice crystals. It looked like it had been thawed and refrozen. The tiramisu was dry. The ladyfingers were not soaked and had no coffee in them. Finally ordered an espresso. This was as small as a doppio and was served with a glass of warm water. The covered terrace was full of cobwebs and the entire environment was not very attractive. The staff are friendly and welcoming, but I don't think we will eat here again.

Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys good Italian food. Everything freshly prepared, with fresh products. Friendly staff and not a long wait. Reservations are advisable.

We got 6 pizzas, but because they were so big(!) we couldn't finish them with the group. My pizza was really tailor-made and very tasty. I would just pit the olives.

We expected more from this Italian restaurant...no special dishes... they accidentally gave 2 coffees instead of 1, the waiter said that we obviously didn't have to pay for the second one, but it was on the bill...a bit sloppy.

Deteriorated considerably after last time. Bad service, the dishes and orders were delivered incorrectly at the table, which meant that one person later received his starter after everyone had finished, which was not really pleasant. Drinking went wrong etc. Main course meat and fish very sparse and supplements cold, the Risotto mushy and too salty and Pizza with unfried mushrooms and artichoke with skin on it, so to speak. Bread is tough and the price-quality ratio is far from good. The worst part is that 'if you say something' you are completely ignored by the staff. The only answer you get is that it is busy so this can happen 😞 no, that should not happen and if it happens, as a staff you solve it professionally and not with the approach of paying quickly and leaving, sorry this is not possible

Fiks achteruitgegaan na de vorige keer. Slechte service, de gerechten en de bestellingen gingen verkeerd aan tafel waardoor o.a. 1 pers later zijn voorgerecht kreeg nadat iedereen klaar was niet echt gezellig. Drinken ging verkeerd etc. Hoofdgerecht vlees en vis heel karig en supplementen koud de Risotto papperig en te zout en Pizza met ongebakken champignons en artisjok met schil eraan zeg het maar. Brood taai en prijs kwaliteit verhouding ver te zoeken het ergste is dan nog dat ‘als je er wat van zegt’ je volledig wordt genegeerd door het personeel. Als enige antwoord krijg je het is druk dus kan dit gebeuren 😞 nee dat mag niet gebeuren en als het gebeurd los je het als personeel professioneel op en niet met de insteek snel betalen en wegwezen sorry dit kan niet

An excellent Italian restaurant with a great selection. The restaurant was full so reservations are recommended. I had a calzone myself, my partner Pennette gratinate. The calzone was generously filled with onion, pepper, tomato, cheese, ham and mushrooms, the calzone was generously sprinkled with freshly grated parmesan cheese; the ingredients were fresh every day and the calzone tasted excellent. The Pennette gratinate had a rich bolognese sauce and delicious cheese. We really enjoyed both dishes! The service was very friendly, nothing was too much and a nice sense of humor :) In short, an extremely hospitable and original Italian restaurant that we will happily return to if we are ever in the area again!

Very tasty food, we chose the insalata caprese and the main course was filetto alla arugula e grana. Add a nice glass of red wine. The menu is very extensive. Decor is attractive, service friendly, but plastic chairs were not comfortable. Parking was also a challenge, the parking lot next to the restaurant was one big mud puddle.

If you want to go there on the weekend, reservation is a must! It's very popular. Waitress was nice, professional, but we waited longer than we wanted. Food delicious, price normal, so the deal is great! They have tables inside and outside, nice atmosphere. I ordered pizza with salmon, AMAZING. My friend chose Fruti Di mare, also fantastic. Porcions were enough for a woman, maybe some man should order two pizzas or something extra to be full. I definitely recommend.

Heerlijk weesten eten met mijn vriendin. Het eten was echt uitmuntend, en kon oprecht zeggen dat ik vol zat. Heb hier voor gerecht en een hoofd gerecht op.

Très bel endroit, sous une tonnelle végétalisée. Accueil sympathique, serveur et serveuse aux petits soins, souriants, efficaces, vraiment agréables. Merci, nous sommes venus un peu au hasard et partons très satisfaits. Félicitations.

Is wat prijzig, maar is dat ook absoluut waard. Heerlijk authentiek eten, heel fijn personeel. Aanrader.

OK. Het ging even mis. We kwamen binnen, gingen zitten en toen bleek dat we in het verkeerde restaurant zaten. Er zitten hier namelijk 2 restaurants achter elkaar. Aan de voorzijde een Frans restaurant (ook leuk) en daarachter een Italiaan. Dus moesten we even doorschuiven. Daar aangekomen bleek alles top. Erg gezellig restaurant, vooral het achterste gedeelte. Eten lekker, bediening keurig. Maar vooral veel authentieker dan de grote ketens waar je tegenwoordig in het Engels moet bestellen 😳. Daar zijn we klaar mee. Dus hier gaan we vaker terugkomen.

Héérlijk gegeten! Vooraf gamba's en vitello tonato: subliem. Daarna geweldig lekkere pizza's. En niet te vergeten, leuke bediening. Kortom: als we dichterbij zouden wonen zouden we er zeker veel vaker heengaan.

Great Italian food in a little Belgian/Dutch town (its both). It's geopolitically complicated. Now on to the food! Appetizers: olives and the bread special. Olives are olives these are alright though I prefer pitted olives. The bread special was great; amazing bread (crunchy crust with pillow soft interior) with 3 types of dip/spread (the classic olive oil to dip, fresh soft butter and I think some sort of olive/garlic tapenade). Mains: I had the spaghetti terra e mare (I think this is suppose to be a version of surf and turf? But the pasta only had zucchini squash and shrimp). The pasta was perfectly al dente; seasoned with garlic oil and fresh parsley. The zucchini squash was diced and fresh as was the shrimp. A wonderful plate of paste though I do wish there was more but maybe pasta is more of an appetizer than an entree traditionally? My friend had the Pizza Renato which I was informed is named for the chef-owner. It's a classic Italian pizza topped with tomato slices, fresh basil and parmesan cheese. I didn't try any but from the sound of the crust as she was cutting it, the pizza was nice and crispy. We finished with coffee and dessert. She ordered the lemoncello cheesecake and I had the tiramisu both made in house (with a side of what tasted like homemade whipped cream). The coffee was authentic Italian coffee (I had it black and she had it cappuccino). The tiramisu was so good. You can really taste the espresso and the lady fingers was perfectly moistened and the cream or mascarpone cheese was light and airy. Honestly love this dessert; it didn't sit heavily in my stomach after consuming. My friend really enjoyed her cheesecake and that little lemon slice on top is actually a cookie! So if you're looking for amazingly delicious and fresh Italian food in Belgium and don't want to go all the way to Italy definitely check this place out! Also the town is an interesting little tourist attraction too with Belgium and the Netherlands both sharing custody of it. You literally cross the border between the 2 countries by crossing the street or at times even just walking down the block!
