La Place in Wijk 02 Bergen op Zoom-Oost

Quickly left for a rest. Had coffee. Nice place. Good service and nice and clean. We had to go through the tunnel to get there. It was filthy and smelled of urine. That put a dampener on the whole thing. So many food deficiencies.

Well-maintained roadside restaurant. The seating area is remarkably spacious. When we were there for lunch, only five tables were occupied. The meeting rooms are convenient, allowing for relatively undisturbed meetings. The food was excellent, as was the service. Parking was no problem.

The famously delicious apple pie was, frankly, disappointing, as was the latte macchiato. The latter resembled a strong latte. But I wouldn't recommend it. It was quiet when I visited.

The restrooms were incredibly dirty, with water on the floor (let's hope it was water), no toilet paper, no trash cans, and the poop was smeared on the seats. Update: The food took an incredibly long time to arrive; almost everything had already been cleared away and cleaned two hours before closing, many items were out, and the staff was unprofessional.

The food looked well-prepared. Special offers could be made more visible.

Way too expensive just ridiculous

Very bad, chicken burger was a small piece of chicken thigh fillet, with a soggy white bun, fries tasted like sand, satay sauce was gone, tomato soup was gone, already at 6 p.m. My dish was 11 euros, of which I ate a gherkin and two slices of tomato, really very bad, cutlery very dirty, and also the toilets, they were so filthy that I turned around. Don't start!

Great atmosphere, but the food at La Place Wouwse Tol has really taken a turn for the worse. It's just really not good. I've eaten here for the second time this year, and both times weren't good. I ate here with my husband and three children. I did mention it, and even returned the food, but it still wasn't good.

€3.85 for a cup of coffee, half the price of a gas station.

We had lunch here on our way through, consisting of pea soup and a sandwich. The cappuccino was excellent. The price was a bit high. It's always a regular stop when we go to Zeeland. Banana bread is to die for... always bring extra for the road.

Man, oh man. La Place has its affairs in disarray. It's a shadow of its former self. You can conjure up the most beautiful and delicious menu. BUT if your glasses are covered in limescale and your cutlery has a dirt trap, your dishwasher is a major problem. I've encountered this disgusting problem at several locations. La Place has a structural problem with its dishes and staff who simply put them in the cutlery drawers without a second thought. I wouldn't eat here again!... The dirt trap on the cutlery is a bacteria bomb. Leaving your parasols open during a storm is a testament to the staff's indifference.

Good for a tasty quick bite as you would expect from a roadside restaurant.

We received friendly service and enjoyed a delicious wok meal. Lots of vegetarian options!

We ate early in the evening. It wasn't very busy, so we hoped to get a quick meal. We waited 25 minutes, so we had to ask for it. The chicken satay and steak were lukewarm, and the fries weren't cooked through. We'll be driving past this place from now on.

The food is excellent. Some of it is even organic, so there's nothing wrong with that. But here too, the staff barely speak Dutch. Do I have to learn six Eastern European languages ​​in my own country just to be able to eat out there?

Good value for money for a roadside restaurant. It looks neat and tidy.

The food was really bad. I had fries with satay, but the satay sauce was completely hard and dried out (it seemed like the last bit). My girlfriend had an omelet, and the bread was dry and stale, almost impossible to cut and chew (one was the last slice of bread). The staff was very friendly.

We wanted to get coffee but were snapped away by a woman with short gray hair and glasses who told us to stand somewhere other than under the coffee sign. When we said we wanted coffee, she simply responded with "no." So, not then, right?

Unable to order, I asked for coffee but was yelled at by an unintelligible and angry woman. I politely asked again, received another rude response, and then ended up getting coffee at the burger restaurant.

Where to begin? There are exactly two wine glasses, one of which is in use. The employee is aware of it. What manager allows this policy? Then I order food, pay. I'm not asked anything else. Food ready, pick it up. My partner returns to the patio with an empty bowl. I have fries without sauce, without salt. Perhaps the cashier could have asked if I wanted that. Then I would have thought of that. I go back with the empty bowl. The employee indicates it's for the salad. To which I say, perhaps you could mention that when it's picked up, and he shrugs. Well, "hopeless" doesn't adequately express my disappointment, not to mention the quality of the tough chicken leg. I'll never come here again, and I hope this serves as a warning. It used to be an honorable formula with quality. Now, a gas station snack is more cheerful. Beware.

How can you even let probationary staff close their shop after just one week? And then you find it strange that staff and team leaders resign because of this behavior, and you have a branch manager who prioritizes WhatsApp over customers. And that you're even still there?

Very good place but the food is bad. I asked for extra lemon or spicy food and the answer was bad.

I ordered the chicken menu, which was €11.50. We paid €11.50 just for the burger, and fries came with it, but we had to pay an extra €5 for that, which was included in the menu. The burger was tasty, but a small one, and the fries were inedible. We didn't even get mayo with it, and you could tell it wasn't fresh.

Stopped in for a quick meal, and it was a great success. Plenty of selection, good value, and friendly staff. I had a freshly made pizza, and it was even delivered to my table, so I didn't have to pick it up with a pager.

As a real la place fan I am critical. Nothing to complain about, except that they do not have their own toilet, which is public between the other eateries and has been really dirty for years, warm and you have to pay for it, that is really a big minus point! Furthermore really friendly staff and still delicious products!

Yesterday on our way north we stopped here to eat something. We ordered a satay menu for 2 people, a bottle of ice tea and a bottle of beer: cost: 48 euros!!! You can expect something then, right? Well, after a while we get a signal that we can pick up the food, my husband comes there, there is only food for 1 person. He says we ordered for 2 people. That girl comes along to look at the receipt and yes how easy: a mistake by my colleague. With the first menu there was an empty bowl on the tray. It turned out that you could get salad there at the buffet. Handy that this was mentioned! So off to the salad buffet where half of the bowls were empty, so unfortunately little choice. When my husband had almost finished his plate my food arrived and I had to start! First plate of food not really warm, bottle of beer lukewarm. We were allowed to get a free cup of coffee/tea at the buffet after dinner “because it had gone a bit wrong”. Yes, at over 30!! degrees. An ice cream would have been better. Conclusion: this was a one time but never again eating at the Wouwse tol

A quick stop during a long car journey from abroad. Delicious fresh products for lunch. But what a racket when a blender was used. Several visitors held their hands over their ears. No, we really did not find this a success in this cold hall. Conversation was not or hardly possible.

On 24-05-2025 at Laplace with deal from Social deal. The choice was very limited, there was almost nothing left in sandwiches. With the deal we could choose certain products, when we got to the cash register it was just wrong and the juice was poured into smaller glasses. Egg was supposed to be for 0.50 euros, but was 1.10 euros. All in all not so well arranged...

Looks very nice but the food is not good. I ordered a steak medium cooked and you pay for that too, but this had nothing to do with steak. It was a shoe sole that you had to chew a lot, worthless, so very cheaply purchased meat.

A nice place with good food. Nice and fast, neat, clean and quiet. There is a small indoor play area for children, a spacious terrace and even a nice place with a fireplace. The furnishings are modern and pleasant.

Just "ate" at La Place Wouwse Tol🤨. The staff doesn't understand Dutch very well, they were hurried and when we finally got our food, the fries were too hard and the satay was lukewarm. The salad that came with it and that you could serve yourself was almost gone. When I asked if it could be refilled, I received the answer: it is no longer available and I don't even have stock to start tomorrow morning. Furthermore, almost everyone had to ask for cutlery and the salt and pepper pots were all as good as empty. Poorly organized and that's how you lose customers la place, although my review will probably not get anything done because there is enough money coming in anyway😡

La place is very convenient place to go amd food is good enough

Heel vriendelijk geholpen door medewerkers, kwam pas een half uur voor sluitingstijd binnen maar had nog volop keuze en kreeg alle tijd om rustig te eten. Pizza was heerlijk en hamburger met frites ook prima. Lekker gegeten!

The employees were very friendly and worked quickly, which made the service pleasant. The location was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the food was disappointing: the wok noodles were hard and not tasty. A missed opportunity, because with such good service I expected more from the food.

I had a very nice meal at La Place. The steak was more tender than I have eaten in more expensive restaurants. Vegetables were fresh and the fries were very tasty. Highly recommended. We come here regularly and it is always good.

Very spacious and beautifully decorated La Place. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail and there is really nothing to complain about the food. Everything is equally delicious here, but the chicken bean sprouts sandwich is a favorite 👏

Pricey for what you get and it is not really clean

Lets talk about the food : you pay an extreem amount of money for small quantities. The food has no taste even the smoothies are not well prépared. The Netherlands is defenetely not a country where people loves to cook and eat well. So the food is too dry, expansive, and not taste at all. Waste of money , otherwise the staff are super nice.

By far the tastiest pizza I have eaten in recent years, the friendly welcome upon arrival made me feel more than welcome, in short, everyone can recommend the richly topped and tasty pizzas!

The food was fine! Although we did see seriously old salmon on the sandwiches? So I didn't take that one. The herb cheese sandwich was very far away. We asked employees if they could report it, but they just didn't hear us? In the end I just walked behind the counter to grab it, and they didn't notice anything yet? And after dinner, go to the toilet... does it cost 80 cents per person? We had just had lunch for 30 Euro?? We'll never come here again.

Na meerdere keren deze plek bezocht te hebben was vandaag de maat vol. Etenswaar wordt met blote handen vastgepakt. Prijzen die aangegeven zijn blijken bij de kassa ineens anders. Het receptuur van een simpele koffie is elke keer anders. Het personeel is ongekwalificeerd om zelfs een bak koffie te zetten, spreken en begrijpen niet altijd Nederlands. De koffie loopt elke keer weer over de glazen. De manager zei dat ik hier zelf naartoe kwam en dat ik dan beter ergens anders naar toe kan gaan. Meermaals een klacht ingediend bij La Place, waarop geen antwoord komt. Ik kom hier nooit meer.

Dezelfde gerechten willen nog wel eens van ingrediënten verschillen. Bij loaded Fries zit er soms sla bij en stukjes ei en pittige saus en de andere keer ontbreken die dingen en is de saus vervangen door mayonaise. Merkwaardig eigenlijk.

As always, the food is delicious at la place. But we missed the fun, there was hardly anyone there. However, the employees were friendly and helpful.

We kwamen rond etenstijd maar weinig klanten. Het duurde een poos voordat er gevraagd werd wat we wilden bestellen. Noodels kip zaten 3 mini stukjes kip in, en de groenten was vooral kool en de noodles waren niet gaar. Zat geen lekkere smaak aan. Maar een vieze nasmaak van de rauwe kool. Mijn man had noodels met gambas wel getelt 4 stuks. Zijn noodels waren wel gaar maar ook niet lekker. Grote stukken kool erin, alsof alles van de kool gebruikt moest worden. Voor het feit dat er nauwelijks gasten waren moesten we lang wachten voor het klaar was. Ik ben net mijn maaltijd terug gegaan en heb een klacht ingediend. Hetzelfde als eerst. Duurt een poos voor er iets gevraagd word. In het Engels dit terwijl ze je al wel gezien heeft. Dat vind ik al een groot minpunt. Op de klacht dat ik vond dat er weinig kip in zat kreeg ik te horen dat ze met maatschepjes werken. Dit was dan wel een mini mini schepje ! Het werd opnieuw gemaakt, maar ook nu was de scherpe smaak van de kool overheersend en niet eens beetgaar. En een paar grotere stukjes kip maar ook niet meer dan hooguit 4. De kwaliteit voor wat je betaalt laat veel te wensen over. Jammer want ik heb hetzelfde gerecht in een andere la place gegeten waar het heerlijk was, zelfs de noodels waren daar op smaak gebracht. En kon je zelf aangeven welke groenten en sauzen je wel of niet wilde. Alle groenten zaten in apparte schalen. Bij la place Bergen op Zoom zit alles ( lees vooral kool met beetje wortel) in 1 bak. Ik ga hier niet meer terug. Is weggegooid geld! Heb mijn maaltijd laten staan en thuis maar wat gegeten. Tafels waar aan gegeten was en vuil waren werden niet schoongemaakt. En de vloer naar en in de wc leek te plakken aan je schoenen.

Had wok noodles with chicken. And my husband with prawns. My husband's went. My noodles were undercooked. With a lot of searching, 3 small pieces of chicken and little taste. In both cases the vegetables are coarse and very hard. The noodles had no taste I filed a complaint and my order was promptly remade A little more flavor this time, and the noodles were done, a few larger pieces of chicken. Well, 4 pieces! It took a very long time for the order to be ready the first time. This while it was not busy. High price for what you get No second time for us. Next time another la place with which we have had good experiences.

Staff are not hospitable and do not make contact with guests, even if you stand in front of them you cannot greet them. Decoration was faded/distressed and that does not radiate freshness. Seating area was clean.

I was there on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. and a lot of it was already gone. I'm not used to La Place. It may be on the highway, but you can easily take a detour from the restaurant to the back, nice and quiet surroundings.

Just having a cup of coffee with my sisters...BIG mistake. As good as the coffee was, the staff was just as bad. So ladies, don't blame the guests that you have to work and the guests come for a cup of coffee on their day off.

La place is a well-known chain of restaurants. Too bad they now have the appearance of a kebab shop. Food is good and so is the coffee. Atmosphere is just a bit cool. Furthermore, good service.
