La Place in Kustwijk

Absolutely awful!!! We had ordered food, and then we went to look for a spot. Everywhere you wanted to sit was terribly filthy. There were dirty stains all over the table and the upholstery was covered in shit by the sparrows that were flying everywhere, including through the kitchen where they also shit. Truly awful. We threw our food away. I didn't dare eat it.

It was very quiet as far as customers were concerned at the end of the day.

A fine place to take a meal or snack. Upon entering the restaurant one scroll around a ready made buffet, as well with some cooking stations. The food is alright and the layout is modern. Clean toilets.

The weather was nice that day, so you could sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the view.

We had a good meal and sat comfortably. However, at the toilet, they were cleaning the trash cans inside the toilet, walked away with the dirty bag, came back with it, and left it standing between two toilet doors. As a result, it almost fell over. On top lay a dirty, unfolded sanitary pad. Really very disgusting.

Just a La Place restaurant, that's all I can say about it.

We were there around five thirty, there was hardly anything left to eat, even though the shopping center is open until 8 in the evening.

Good place to grab some food , drinks and rest after shopping around. The noodles was good , the margarita pizza was okay. Overall it’s good, they could work on streamlining the order taking process.

When I went to La Place Lelystad, the voucher for a satay with fries was a bit of a sag and unusable because it was an outlet. I didn't see anything about an outlet at LaPlace...🫣 My appetite was instantly gone, and what prices anyway.🤔

It's great that you can choose your own food. Choose it yourself and then pay.

The sandwiches were soggy and sparsely filled. For La Place prices, you expect better sandwiches. Which, incidentally, is the case at other branches. The atmosphere is always canteen-like, but you know that when you eat here.

The food is fine, but the prices are abnormally high. If you order a hamburger, you have to wait 8 minutes, said the young man behind the grill, but if I wanted the second one, I had to wait 16 minutes. Very strange staff. My love for this La Place is definitely over.

They have delicious dishes! The furniture is dirty, though. For instance, there is a lot of dirt stuck between the backrest and seat of the sofas!

The food is a bit on the salty side, the satay dish. The fries are also overloaded with salt. The staff is not always aware of their own actions. So you have to provide proof yourself that it is true. And that is not how it should be. Eventually they do correct it, but any apology is nowhere to be found.

I had expected a bit more from it; it's not like it used to be. The tuna sandwich wasn't topped as well as it used to be. And I returned the pizza because one side had a black crust, and the cheese was burnt. I went back and, to be fair, I got a new pizza right away.

I used to really enjoy eating at La Place, but this time there was little choice, and the staff were very absent-minded and curt. The food itself was good, but very lacking in flavor. It was midday, but the restaurant was completely lifeless. A shame.

I saw the option of a wok bowl, that seemed appealing, and I ordered the chicken version. Even while the cook was stir-frying the chicken, I could see that the meat was sitting in a lot of liquid—so no oil. This got even worse when the pasta was added. In the end, everything tasted like it had been boiled, which I don't think is the point of stir-frying. So I won't be choosing that again, and should La Place ever decide to improve their stir-frying (ingredients and additions are actually quite tasty), I won't be the one to find out. By the way, it's also a shame that La Place doesn't sell Coca-Cola, only that nasty Pepsi...

La Place Batavia Stad is a neat and spacious place to take a break while shopping. The restaurant looks well-maintained and offers ample seating, both indoors and on the terrace. However, the terrace feels like a separate entity and does not connect entirely logically to the interior space, making the atmosphere slightly less cohesive. The food is of good quality, but the price-quality ratio raises questions. The asparagus soup and the focaccia roll taste good, but are on the pricey side. This actually applies to the individual soups and rolls in general as well. The menu options are limited and what you get is not always very generous – a single satay stick, for example, feels a bit meager for the price you pay. In addition, there are a number of practical points that could be improved. The toilets are difficult to find, are somewhat hidden, and moreover seem to have too limited capacity for the crowds. When ordering hot dishes, no pager is provided, meaning guests have to wait at the service counter themselves. This causes unnecessary delays and a messy "traffic flow" with many people waiting in the same spot. In short: La Place Batavia Stad looks good and the food is tasty, but the pricing, limited portions, and logistics regarding waiting times and facilities drag down the experience. With some adjustments, this could become much more pleasant and efficient.

Experienced this for the first time in my 40 years of life. Ordered a burger menu and a fried egg. I was forced to pay first. Fine, but when you see guests afterwards who don't have to follow the same rules, something isn't right. Good luck with your business.

A whole lot of money for very little. Sports canteen level. Save your money and go eat somewhere else.

Nice terrace to have a drink on when the weather is nice

A lovely place to grab a bite or a drink; a cup of coffee or tea with a nice pastry is also highly recommended. You can also sit upstairs in the conservatory and enjoy the sunshine, which is highly recommended!

Sorry La Place, staff walking around but doing nothing. Dirty tables, filthy upholstery on the chairs and benches that has been there since Batavia Stad opened, and €9.00 for 2 coffees. When you are in Batavia Stad and are hungry, I advise giving LaPlace a wide berth.

The asparagus soup wasn't very tasty, very watery and tasteless, and the bread was very dry and stale. I did some really good shopping in Bataviastad.

One of the worst places you can go to when looking for lunch at Batavia stad. It is way too expensive, service is horrible and ambiance is loud.

Good food and drinks. Pricey, but better than McDonald's. In terms of seating and atmosphere, it's just a food factory. But fine for sitting down for a bit.

The food at the place wasn't great, but not bad either. You can sit comfortably on the outdoor terrace with a beautiful view of the IJsselmeer. The price is quite extreme, 60 euros for 3 people, but the herring was filled, so it was a successful day.

Worthless. It looked messy in there. The pan that was supposed to contain pea soup was dirty and almost empty. Yuck...not recommended! Expensive, by the way!!! I left. Didn't order anything!

It's great that it's there, but when I was there... there weren't many sandwiches to choose from. Everything they have is really tasty, but not cheap. For example, starting at €7.50 for a healthy roll and €8 for pea soup... it might be normal, but not for a restaurant like La Place with no service and you still have to clear your own plates. Sorry, but €20 for 2 pea soups (where you really had to search for the smoked sausage) with a roll isn't cheap.

A low score because, in my opinion, €4.50 for a simple cup of black coffee is unreasonable. Prices are through the roof there. That doesn't change the fact that the food is undoubtedly good.

Never again. The staff doesn't know what they're doing. Long lines for filthy cappuccino machines that are lukewarm. The sausage rolls lack flavor and are disgustingly greasy. Prices are way too high.

I’m always pleased to go to La Place, but if you say you are open until 17:30 and you already close your kitchen at 16:45 that’ll make me a very unhappy customer. Sorry, only 2 stars because of this. Batavia Stad is opened today until 18:00. C’mon, you can do better. If you say you are open until 17:30, you can clean your kitchen afterwards.

It wasn't a terrible sandwich in itself, but 7.50 for a standard small roll with a slice of ham is just ridiculous, isn't it? Furthermore, the place wasn't clean and was messy.

Always a very diverse, tasty, fresh, and healthy selection! Staff not friendly at all! The dining area (restaurant) is very noisy; you're practically sitting on each other's laps! But you just have to put up with all that for a bit!

Spontaneously ordered a social deal. It was pretty good and good value for the price. (Just a little too little chicken in the wok.)

I've eaten at various La Place locations before, and here before. But the quality of the food and how it's prepared leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered a wok with prawns, which is usually always excellent. But I couldn't understand what I was getting. Everything seemed to have been cooked separately and thrown together, and the flavor was lacking. I couldn't eat a single bite. Such a shame; please employ staff who actually know what they're doing.

I went there around dinner time, but the staff were already cleaning up at 6:00 PM. So I left. It wasn't a very inviting atmosphere.

Had a fantastic ham sandwich. It's self-service and has a model food court. The cashier was very friendly.

The price/quality ratio is completely out of whack. A nearly €7 herb cheese sandwich is only half-filled, and three half-slices of cucumber are placed on the front of the sandwich to make it look like a well-filled sandwich. Very disappointing!

Bataviastad... Even more expensive than any other La Place. I saw over 9 euros for a chicken leg without any garnish. The sandwiches were also more expensive... almost 7 euros. I'm willing to pay for it, but I don't think the quality is anything special. I actually found it rather unfair. It's all about making a quick buck and not providing any service.

Way too busy, they can't handle it at all. At this price, delivering this kind of quality is simply not possible these days.

Way too expensive! Unbelievable, €4.20 for a small bottle of chocolate milk, a whopping €3 for a croissant (which costs €0.15). We spent €50 for breakfast with 5 people (2 adults and 3 kids), and we each had one sandwich and a glass or bottle of drink. It's absolutely outrageous!

Serving a raw chicken must forbidden! You can poison your customers.

Located in the Bataviastad outlet, I had a bite to eat for lunch. A wide selection of different food options, including hot and cold sandwiches and smoothies. You have to pick up your own lunch from the various stalls with your own tray. The service at the coffee shop wasn't very friendly. Clean restrooms are free. The food is fine, but the prices are very high and not in proportion to the quality. I wouldn't return. The terrace does have a nice view of the water.

At 6:30 PM we wanted something to eat, but the selection was very limited. So we had pizza... that choice was also limited... so we had two Quattro Stationi. It took 12 minutes for us to pick it up. The staff was already busy "closing up" and cleaning, even though they're only open until 8:00 PM! We picked up the pizzas; something had gone wrong, and we had to wait a while longer. (I think the staff in the cooking and baking department didn't have any hospitality background.) We ended up getting the wrong one: a margarita instead of the Quattro Stationi. It turned out the oven was already off. The manager gave us the option... to order something else, which took 10 minutes. We ended up with a hamburger because the selection was limited. Extremely soggy, old, and wrinkled bun with wilted lettuce and a "bottom" tomato... no onion or pickle to be found with a mountain of fries. A significant disappointment for a lot of money.

Shame!! La Place Bataviastad is truly unbelievably rude! Today I had a lovely time at Bataviastad with my kids, only to be harassed in La Place by the manager and his staff because I asked for an exit. The manager rushed over to me and began explaining in an antisocial tone that the restaurant doesn't have an exit door until 11:30, and that this had been the case for years, he added condescendingly. I asked if this was indicated anywhere because I saw the exit door for sale on the sign. The manager was so rude that I asked him for his name to write a bad review, but he refused to give it to me. Immediately, my kids and I were told to leave, threatening to do it ourselves! We were surrounded by several employees, one of whom started pushing me! I think I'm going to report this incident! Be warned!

I love the marinated chicken sandwich with sandwich spread from La Place. Unfortunately, the bread was quite dry this time. But luckily it was quiet, and we had a delicious lunch.
