La Place in Wijk 24 Leuken

Five of us dined here, and the self-service menu was beautifully presented, with everything clearly labeled. We ordered three pea soups and a pumpkin soup with extra tuna and chicken rolls, and the food was delicious. The service, ambiance, and food are all as you'd expect from a La Place.

Very poor service, no refills, way too expensive for what you get, cold chocolate milk was lukewarm, toilets were filthy and there was no toilet paper. Something's been said about it, the staff just look so-so. Tables were dirty and hadn't been cleaned. Dogs are allowed inside and can walk around the children's "playground." Seems like a good place to skip.

Regular stopover on the way south..

Good food, nice atmosphere, plenty of seating. The restrooms are clean, but you have to pay 80 cents for them even if you've ordered something. You do get a 50-cent discount coupon, though. The food and drinks are a bit pricey.

Very expensive for what you get and the service. Dirty tables. One checkout, and there you are, standing with your heavy tray in a long line.

I had a great meal here, the staff were friendly and attentive. Incidentally, the coffee here was much better than at other La Place locations. The food was delicious, and I had a few tasty sandwiches. Overall, the restaurant and surrounding area seemed clean. I was quite shocked when I went to the men's restroom. A sizable colony of tiger mosquitoes had taken up residence there. There were more than 30 mosquitoes on every wall. I kept a close eye on them, but there were dozens of mosquitoes all along the hallway to the restroom. I was really itchy for a bit, so be careful there!

Ugh...what can I say about this place?? I had pumpkin soup and a cappuccino and was charged €11.50?????????!!!! This isn't okay/normal for me!!

It's a shame that there's a "Burger King" sign at the entrance, but there isn't a Burger King there...

You can't complain if you find something vegan on the menu that works for you. The soup and main course were okay. But you'd expect a little more creativity than a vegan burger and fries these days. It's a real shame there aren't more options. There's so much to choose from, and non-vegans wouldn't even notice.

Salmon sandwich was ok, tomato soup was VERY salty. Would be ok if the prices were not those of a fancy restaurant. Toilet is €0,80

One star is still too many. Dirty restrooms for 80 cents. Long wait, cold soup. Dirty tables and doors. Drive past quickly!

La Place: the best roadside restaurants in the Netherlands! Update: I went to La Place Roevenpeel again after a long time (I live abroad). I was shocked by the prices! For example: a medium (small for me) cup of pea soup €6.70, apple and nut cake €5.80. I ended up getting a sausage roll instead: €3.85... It got very expensive. The toilets were filthy! What a disappointment!

The food is delicious. The service is good, but there is no atmosphere.

Always a good idea to stop and eat something quick and healthy there.

FIRST THINK CAREFULLY ABOUT WHAT YOU DO The place is no longer there on the A2 near Nederweert but now about the food at Burger King the food was not lou but really cold the cheese that did not melt the bacon also cold the old rolls just broke off in pieces oh yes and then also about the toilet there also too dirty to go to the urine (puddle) is just on the floor where you can stand in

It is way too expensive, the quality is downright bad and there is a construction site atmosphere from the 90s.

Not a place with a wide selection of hot food, but very good for sandwiches and pastries. The steak was delicious.

1 p.m. I was looking forward to a fresh orange juice... the girl refused to make one. She said it was all gone. Then she used the blender to blend whatever was left in the ice cream. The bender was going on the whole time. The place... they could be a bit more considerate of ambient noise and customer service.

Looks neat, food is delicious and fresh. Only downside: I would have liked a pie with my coffee, but they didn't have it. The apple and nut cake was delicious, though.

Laplace is our regular coffee stop on vacation; a cappuccino with sausage rolls is delicious! Friendly staff, and a special thanks to the lady in the kitchen who brought water for our dogs!

La Place is always great, but here it lacks atmosphere. The routing between the cash registers to the Panorama Terrace is not ideal.

Supposed to be open until 8 PM. At 7:55 PM, no hot food available. Worthless!

It's gotten worse, what was once a luxury. Pastries were just a variety of apple pies. It took ages to get coffee, and a line formed. And the staff doesn't understand Dutch. It's a shame, but I don't speak English in my own country.

Very tasty pizza, better than what I've had at the other branches.

It's a bit odd to write a review about this, but the manager should be advised not to place the baby/toddler changing table next to the wash/blow tables in the restroom. The noise is frightening for children, and changing them is almost traumatic. A quieter location would be recommended. :)

What can you expect from a roadside restaurant? That you can eat there, that it's fast, that it's reasonably filling, and that there's a good selection of sandwiches, hot meals, and pastries. For all of that, you've come to the right place. The ideal quick stop on your way to the south of the Netherlands.

Just lost 20 euros gambling at their slot machine, but this was not as bad as the 30 euro I lost on their food.

Always liked going to a La Place but it has gone downhill. This should definitely be improved. The food was downright bad. I had a cream cheese sandwich, lots of cucumber but the cream cheese was hard to find, very sparsely topped and this for almost 7 euros. Complaining didn't help, it was normal they said. I'm done with La Place for now

Delicious food! Delicious chicken burger with thick fries.

La Place seems to be on a return path, in a negative sense that is. The heart seems to have gone out and that can be felt in the guest orientation of the employees.

Only used the toilet. They were clean. 80 euro cents though.

The cashier was an antisocial guy, the meat I ordered was raw, most of the employees didn't even speak proper English. On top of that I had to throw everything in a container for takeaway myself after I had put it on the plate or received it. I don't think this is the fault of the employees, only the manager doesn't do a good job with training his employees and teaching them what and how to do. And the icing on the cake is the saltless fries.

I like La Place. Foods definitely have a certain quality. I espcially like pizza, for 11 euros, and soups. But coffe is too expensive.

Dirty. Floor hasn't seen a broom in a long time. Dust dripping from speakers and lamps. Footrest on bar chair broken, but wasn't cleaned up.

We did not enjoy the place. It is pricey and impersonal. A pretty mediocre road restaurant. A big minus is the 60 cents that they charge for the baggies of condiments. Which is a total rip-off. I recommend you do go somewhere else!

One tip: clean!!! Really dirty. The highchairs were sticky on all sides and the floor and tables were also dirty

Great stopover. Entrance to the restaurant consists of 2 doors, the right one leads you to the paid toilet. The signage could be better. Otherwise it is expensive, a good 7 euros for a black coffee and a sausage roll. Sufficient parking.

Great roadside restaurant, great cup of coffee. It is on one side so if you come from Du or Be you have to go through a tunnel. Paying is not arranged conveniently for the employee if you also have to serve the coffee. This creates a queue.

We wanted to have dinner, but at 18.30 (!) most dishes were gone... Very limited choice. The rolls were made in the morning and had become very hard.

18:30 everything is gone, pizzas gone, all veggie dishes. Still a meager, tough sandwich from the morning. Sausage rolls that a friend couldn't get through, so tough. Soup was ok, but otherwise a really crappy experience and also not what I'm used to from LaPlace. It really couldn't be called fresh anymore.

A quick stop during the trip, we ate a warm apple bun, which was really delicious!

Exceptionally customer-oriented service that La Place can be frugal and proud of. Too much charged costs for an order were unexpectedly and unsolicitedly returned. Didn't feel good with the cashier, top employee.

We drove 40km to eat that crap. Pizza and Pasta was not available. However we took the pita bread and expected it to be decent for that price. But the quality of the food was too poor.

We were at this la place today, which was a travesty. The food was tasteless, the sandwich was inedible, everything was cold. We ordered 3 classic hot dogs and were given fries without asking for 5 euros per portion (cold and dirty), it's scandalous that they dare to call this la place. The dining room was littered with dead insects, no cutlery, no napkins, not la place, sorry shame on you.

If you have to go to the toilet several times due to health reasons, you will receive a nice discount voucher of 50 cents. Unfortunately, you can only hand in 1 voucher at a time. So you are simply being screwed over if you have to go to the toilet more often. Just smells like a scam.

This establishment is a mockery of the (reasonably) good name of La Place. Very limited choice, many things not available despite posters posted about them. Salad bar was already empty at 6:30 PM. Staff works at a snail's pace. What was ultimately served was reasonable, hence two stars, but otherwise it would have received 1 star. Better to eat at the BK across the street.

The Netherlands at its best. You can go to the toilet with 2 people and pay 0.80 euros per person, but you are not allowed to hand in your receipt together at la Place afterwards.

The tunnel to La Place is incredibly dirty. It smells really bad, everything is so dirty and there is garbage everywhere. I raised this about a year and a half ago with the manager, at the La Place head office and with Rijkswaterstaat. Didn't do anything with it unfortunately..!!🤬Then you really don't take your customers seriously. Coffee was decent, laoded croissant disappointing. Quite dry, so maybe not fresh? Nice staff, but the tables were not clean and it is better to push open the outside door with your shoe... Brrrr, what a nasty mess here.

Way too much money spent for mediocre food. The cutlery was dirty, it looked like it had not been in the dishwasher. We had to sort which cutlery was still reasonably usable. Smoothie was too thick. Way too expensive, 5 people is about 70-80 euros and not very good quality. 2 stars

Terrible, cold food and the people next to us also complained about this. There were no staff and what was there was not really customer friendly. Only a young lady understood the trade. All containers with food and salads were empty even though it was 6 p.m. Shameful, never again

La Place the unforgettable food quality of the V&D, really super quality food for "on the road".

The pizza was tasty, but the burgers and fries were really not worth the amount paid. A small soft hamburger bun sparsely topped with vegetables and a ready-made beef burger. The chicken burger was a piece of flattened chicken with little flavor. Really not worth the stop.

Finally a good restaurant from la place with a lot of choice of food, both bread and hot food. Coffee is good to drink.

A lot of money for little Burger cold

Restaurant at a motorway rest area where you eat decent food at a fairly high price (as is often the case). The staff is efficient. Possibility of using the toilets free of charge when eating meals in the restaurant.

I was pleasantly surprised by this rest stop restaurant along the highway. The selection of food was surprisingly fresh and varied. Our burger was prepared à la minute - you don't get that everywhere! The tomato soup that I tried was also very tasty. The restaurant itself was clean and well maintained, and smelled pleasant. The staff was also friendly and accommodating. The only point of criticism is the toilets. Unfortunately, they were in poor/unhygienic condition and not really clean. It could be that there are not enough staff available to maintain the facilities to a better standard, which is of course understandable but still requires improvement.

Very disappointed. I bought a bowl of pea soup for about €5.50. The soup was lukewarm/cold, there was a large lump of vague meat in it, and the rest of the soup was watery and dirty. I wanted to return it, but the staff was unapproachable or did not speak Dutch. At least I didn't eat the pea soup.
