La Place in Oirlo

We stonden om 1800 uur voor de deur om een hapje te eten, werd ons meegedeeld dat ze gingen sluiten. Eventueel konden we nog een kopje koffie drinken. We zijn doorgereden.

Really bad... almost everything was gone. A fruit juice was more water than anything else...

Paying as a customer to go to the toilet is such bad service. First toilet then food and not the other way around. A letdown. Food and drink are of course good.

Herb cheese sandwich was very sparsely filled. Table wobbled terribly. I couldn't use the pepper mill with my arthritic hands. Was way too hard. The toilets are upstairs and you have to pay 80 cents for them. Even if you bought almost 20 euros worth of food. You will receive a receipt for a 50 cent discount on your order. Always nice when you live abroad.

Just went on Wednesday, December 18 around 3:30 PM, what a disappointment this is for Laplace. We had booked the social deal in advance and entered the restaurant. Without being greeted, we were looked away unfriendly by a slightly plumper blonde woman. After we wanted to make a choice and ask how the deal would work, we were treated in a very unfriendly and grumpy manner and it was more than clear that the lady had absolutely no desire to work. We were stuck with the deal and unfortunately could not go back, we ordered a medium rear steak and a hamburger. The hamburger was more than fine, steak was cold and still raw. In total, we spent around 44 euros on drinks, and what should have been a nice bite to eat for us was completely ruined. When my girlfriend wanted to go to the toilet, she decided not to because the toilets were dirty and there was toilet paper everywhere. What a disappointment, no Laplace for us.

Well, I'm honestly not a big fan of the La Place restaurants, but this was the nicest/most atmospheric La Place I've ever been to! The food looks great and tastes great! Everything freshly prepared and you can taste it! Pita honey mustard chicken is highly recommended! The restaurant itself looked cozy, it doesn't have a roadside restaurant vibe at all.

A roadside restaurant on a highway closes at 7 p.m.?!... Then go do something else!

Tasty meals, the offer and a bacon burger. However, it is completely ridiculous to charge €0.60 for a small bag of mayo and also charge money to go to the toilet. That's why we will choose a different restaurant next time.

Good road restaurant. Large choice of menu, soup, sandwiches, etc. Large cup of tea and coffee. Very friendly service.

Service like Laplace. Pick it up yourself and clean it up yourself, but at the prices of a restaurant. Just having a coffee is fine, nothing special. The euro for the toilet is also special.

We made a stop here along the way and had a delicious meal at a fair price. There is a cozy play corner for the kids and they also receive a present with the children's menu. Warm welcome and good atmosphere. Definitely worth coming here

I hardly ever come here so this is just a snapshot...the atmosphere is good, the staff is friendly, the food could be a bit better...less salt and a little more herbs would be a good addition, it's not dirty but it could be done a bit better in my opinion... the pea soup lacked some flavor, was slightly watery and could have contained a bit more meat... €2.30 for a single cheese stick? Serious? 🤣...

A slice of apple pie for 1.50, good deal, very tasty starter! Ordered chicken "burger" with fries. Seemed like the best option after I saw the cook folding a piece of pizza dough into a kind of square with holes. Chicken burger was nothing more than 3 tasteless pieces of chicken thigh fillet on a limp cutlet. Fries were half cooked and not tasty. I have been robbed of my good mood.

We did not eat here because we could not find our way to La Place (we were on the other side of the highway), it is very poorly signposted.

If you come at 9 o'clock and there is almost nothing to eat, staff standing around chatting, then my experience is not super positive

You're crazy if you eat here, too dirty for words. Pizza funghi......dammit, looked like garlic bread with cheese spread. Really incredible. Staff disinterested and ignorant. don't do it!!!!!

I think La Place is really running backwards if I'm honest. I enjoyed coming there for years, but now I've had a disappointing experience three times in a row at three different locations Pumpkin soup didn't taste fresh (like it came from a package). The fries used to be delicious at La Place, with potato in skin, that has now become 'normal' fries and you can eat it everywhere. Had grilled chicken leg here with fries and salad. The salad consisted of some raw endive and some pieces of bell pepper. No dressing. La Place always had very tasty salad buffets, but that is also gone. And the tables were not clean. It's a real shame, I won't go there anymore.

It was dirty, the floor was full of food, where the tray was supposed to be placed was full. Really not pleasant.

Always a good place to stop during the trip. The food is good, but maybe because it was late they had already picked up a lot of things. Pet Friendly.

Few Vega options, very expensive and unfortunately not what la Place used to be.

LaPlace always has nice stuff. (The pedestrian tunnel to it could be more clearly indicated)...There is plenty of choice and they are not stingy with the portions. The restaurant is self-service.

Fresh food and drinks and a small indoor playground for small children

The tunnel to get there is really nothing. The restaurant seems old to me, after AC only a different sign on it? Ordering at the counter was quick. Sunday 5.30 pm, but quiet, satay with fries was expensive, but was ok, the atjar tasted out of date. Took quite a long time, if it ever gets busy there, an overnight stay is allowed.

Verschrikkelijke service kon maar twee van de drie toilet bonnetjes inleveren. Uitsmijter moet met salade!! Voor slechts 12 euro!! Was eens maar nooit meer.

The quality is always good at La Place and the friendly young man brought my food. Top!

Nauwelijks glutenvrije mogelijkheden. Alleen een heel klein bakje friet of tosti voor diner (?). Kindermenu met 2 hele kleine pannenkoeken, kinderen hadden nog honger. Erg jammer!

During a long ride, we also want to rest and eat. Have been to many La Place roadside restaurants. The choice was not too large, we are actually used to better from La Place The service was friendly and the two pizzas we ordered were quite tasty. What struck me is that there were very few customers, perhaps that is because there is a gas station opposite where one can also eat well. But if you just want to sit and eat in peace, this restaurant is worth it

Stopped for something to eat after a long tiring drive. Limited options, ended up with a burger and fries. Then you are forgotten, and people get grumpy when you wake them up after 20 minutes. Soggy fries and a tasteless soggy hamburger. Ladies room was a mess. I won't come here anymore

The ambience is nice, but unfortunately it's a complete rip-off. Dry toasties with gristly ham and almost no cheese for over 6 euros. Waiting time 45 minutes, staff said it took about 12 minutes. Unbelievable! Never again. 1 km later a Mac D. arrives, he gets the food better and faster.

We have been here before and had no complaints, but unfortunately this time the food was inedible, the staff not too friendly and we did not find it too pleasant. If there is a next time, hopefully it will be like before.

Friday, August 23, 6:06 PM, arrived after a long drive from the Eifel. La Place stands for quality, so I skipped all the Macs and arrived here. Poorly indicated if you come from the south that you have to go through a tunnel. But well found. Arrived through a dirty, smelly tunnel at the somewhat outdated restaurant. Not comparable to what we know from Lelystad/Almere. We wanted something warm and it was quiet so we could watch in peace. The chefs remained busy with their work before they "noticed" us. I ordered the daily special "Gado Gado". Immediately the message. "THAT'S ON!". Oh okay. At 6 p.m. already?? Well my son ordered 'Chicken Caprese' most expensive from the grill menu 14.50. We asked what it was. Chicken with pesto mayo sauce and some other ingredients on a sandwich with fries. Well 2x. Have something to drink. 34.00 total approx. It was quiet, but the guests who were there caused a lot of disruption with a lot of screaming that parents did not respond to, so we moved to the other side. After more than half an hour!!!! The alarm went off. My son gets the order and puts it on the table. I still think; then where is the Chicken? I open the sandwich and see 2 tiny pieces of chicken. Hardly any sauce but lettuce and a slice of tomato. Furthermore, a white soft bun and fries. I am surprised and look at my son's sandwich: the same. Less than 1 chicken fillet, half breast Chicken divided over 2 sandwiches for 34!!! I go back and ask in surprise? How?? Whereupon the cashier and the cook ashamedly indicate that they only carry out orders, but both individually also think that it is really expensive and very little. I can choose something else. But gado gado wasn't there yet and the rest is either pork or not what I would like to eat. I'm asking for my money back. I then get too little back and the chef, now also irritated, throws another 2 euros on the counter (!) "Here! Then I can continue". I remind my son and we leave. Then drive to KFC. Order 4 hot wings, 2 chicken cheeseburger, 2 fries and drinks for a total of 11.00!!!! And there is CHICKEN on the sandwich, Chicken in the box and 0.5 l of drink! 1/3 of the price but Chicken that I don't have to look for with a magnifying glass! We never do this!!!!! More.

We came back from a 6 hour journey, we ordered the most expensive dish on the hamburger menu twice. 14.50 orz, it took an antisocial 30 minutes. When we got it, we really had to look for the chicken and we saw 2 mini pieces of chicken, antisocial, we had to give it back and walk away, really strange

My wife and I stopped here for a quick brake. The place looked nice so we chose to go here instead of going to the gas station’s cafe, but it was a bad choice, because we got scammed. So, if you don’t want to read the whole review, just please avoid going here: they do not deserve your business. It is not the amount of money we were overcharged that matters, but the way the scam, because it is a scam, works. But let’s explain what happened. Firstly, to access the bathroom area, you had to pay 80 cents, which I honestly find wrong, but no matter. There was a contactless terminal but it did not work and the machine only accepted cash. Once entered, I was immediately annoyed by the fact that the bathroom was not clean and smelled terribly. The person before did not flush and the sensor did not work, so I flushed and a cascade of water splashed all over. Not efficient, and not nice to be splashed. Well, It happens, I guess, but since you are asking money to use the bathroom, you should at least keep it clean and efficient. After the wonderful experience I was left with a 50 cents discount coupon. At least, I thought, I’ll get back 50 cents, but when I went to pay and gave them the coupon, I noticed that although the girl at the cashier added it, the total price displayed did not change. I told her but she seemed not to understand and after fiddling about for a couple of minutes, she called a colleague over to help. That was unfortunately to no avail, as they could not fix the issue. Meanwhile 2 or 3 customers were waiting to be served at the cashier, the only one available, although 3 or 4 people were there chatting. After a couple of minutes, they triumphantly reprinted the receipt and showed me that they did add the coupon. Well, that was not the issue, but they did not seem to be capable of understanding that 8.50 euros minus 50 cents should be 8 euros and not 8.50… At that point, after trying once more to explain, I just told them to let it go, but explained they should look into the issue. Now, you might think that for 50 cents it is not worth losing time and writing a review, but the issue here runs deeper: every client coming with their coupon are fated to end up paying the same amount of money they would have otherwise payed without it, so this is a way to scam customers and it is a really unfair practice. I really hope many people will read this review and will consequently choose not to bring their business at this place. Scamming clients is no good and accepting to be scammed without doing anything is just wrong. What is more, if I was from the Netherlands, it would annoy me that people passing by are scammed and thinks badly of my county for such a reason… But that is just me.

Good place to stop during your trip and get a sandwich or soup. Very expensive for a sandwich and a fruit shake.

Bit of a depressing establishment. If you drive from the south, you first have to pass through an obscure, dirty tunnel under the highway. When you arrive at the restaurant, the range is limited. If you want to eat something healthy, the choice is extremely limited. We arrived at 6:15 pm and apart from a smoothie and a pre-packaged salad there was nothing healthy to eat. The terrace may also need to be cleaned occasionally. We will skip this roadside restaurant from now on.

Went at dinnertime and when we arrived there was no one waiting in front of us. Still it took five minutes for someone to greet us while 8 people gathered behind us in line. While we waited, we noticed the grill being cooked on was really gross, thick with oil and grime. Because of that, we decided to order burgers instead of fries. But it turned out the restaurant was "out of everything except chicken and burgers from the grill". The man talking to us was very rude and insisted that they didn't have any vegetarian food. Nothing on the menu they had in front of them like sandwiches, pizza, salads, fries, etc. La place as a whole has really gone downhill. This location was a nail in the coffin for me.

At 6 p.m. we enthusiastically asked for the promoted vegetarian specials of that day, but they simply did not have all the vegetarian variants. Then 30 euros for 2 sandwiches and something to drink. For these prices, the quality and service are substandard.

Poor service when looking for solutions to pay for dirty toilets. Not being able to offer coffee at a discount. Or something else.

Just what you expect from a La Place

For a motorway location, really surprisingly inviting and cozy. The food, familiar from other La Place branches. Always my pleasure.

Thought it was a mess, and were too miserable to answer a question, so we walked out and got something at the gas station.

Lukewarm food, not really tasty, expensive.

We stopped for lunch. The food was good. Only the range was not complete. When there are 2 types of soup on the plate and there is only 1. And not everything was available with the hot dishes either. Shame. In any case, what was there tasted good.

The food was tasty, but a mini chicken burger with papat for 11 euros is quite worthy of the term shrinkflation...

La place is no longer the same as it used to be.

Ate here last week and ordered a burger, which was forgotten to put on the grill and was a lump of fat. As a result of the delay, I was offered a drink on the house, the employee who helped me seemed sincere as if he was doing his best. However, a number of his colleagues stood behind the display cases completely disinterested.

Worthless dining room. First we went to the toilet where the urine containers were covered with blue plastic. Then I relieved myself behind the door where the floor was littered with toilet paper. Then wash hands without soap because it was gone and they charge 80 cents for that. The food way too expensive for what you get. Better go to MD. Too bad they don't include a fly swatter as a service with your order because you keep swatting. There are more flies in the building than on a garbage dump. Staff very unfriendly. Had to wait in line for 10 minutes for a few napkins. They were behind the cash register and were closely guarded. It should just be with the cutlery. Speaking of cutlery. Cutlery was all dirty and had spots everywhere. There was still food leftovers under the table...yuck. People, if you are hungry, stop somewhere on a roadside because it is cleaner there than there. NEVER again a La Place branch.

A bad experience. I ordered food and asked for salt as the food was unsalted. They didn't give it to us, saying from the house that they don't have it! My husband went the second time to ask for salt from a gentleman, I think he's a very good chef...he checked the restaurant and he saw that there was no salt and he went and brought it to us from the kitchen. But the lady of the house leaves much to be desired. How do you say you don't have salt in the restaurant? 🙈...
