Best place to hit pacha in Groningen

I have often bumped into a lamp that is not hanging properly above the table and is much too low. The last time I was there I bumped myself really hard. I had a headache for a long time afterwards! Do something about it, I'm sure I'm not the only one!

Not special and weak cappuccino.

Two sandwiches 9 euros. Empty of filling, a quarter slice of ham and a couple of torn lettuce leaves, sandwich is now made with thin bread. Large chips are the size of regular chips, flat white is about a double espresso. Very bad and no wonder why they were empty at 1pm

Restaurant open until 5pm but kitchen suddenly closed at 4pm ?? so a choice of 4 cucumbers or 2 wilted bulbs. #nicelyearlyhome

Not much can go wrong with a bowl of tomato soup, you might think. But this one wasn't even worth €5.5. Very disappointing taste experience. Watery, salt-free, no spice and basically nothing at all. This has to be much better, please.

It's not the place it used to be.

The food was great, the service was friendly, the cutlery was unfortunately not clean, the elevator that gives access to la place is too small for someone in an electric wheelchair who unfortunately has difficulty bending their legs and the wheelchair toilet is too small for an electric wheelchair. ... so we won't come here again

Great food as always at la place

We regularly go shopping in the city center of Groningen, for lunch we always go to La Place in the old V&D building. Lately we often see people who have bought snacks or the like elsewhere and eat them in the La Place restaurant. 8.12.24 there was a .... family with 3 screaming children, they didn't buy anything but they chased away 'real' customers. We will no longer be visiting La Place Groningen for the time being.

There was almost nothing left to eat and you pay for that.

Went here for a drink and an apple/nut pastry. Property looks neat and tidy. Toilets fine. Staff very friendly. Drinks and apple/nut pastries were very tasty. The only downside was that the whipped cream with the cake (85 cents) was not real but from a spray can, so in no time a pitiful white puddle of sugar...

There was no food left even though they close in two hours. Never been disappointed this badly by a la place

They had been open since 9 o'clock, but at 10.15 everything was still missing... the pastry on offer had to come from the back and was still fluffed up. No other pastries in sight, only sausage rolls and cheese rolls. Took a very long time for the coffee to be in the cup. But okay, it tasted good.

Eating at a quiet time. Staff friendly and helpful. Reasonable price/quality ratio. The downside is that the toilets are very dirty. One even hidden. Filthy toilet seat and floor.

Very bad, open until 9 p.m., but at 8 p.m. the gentlemen no longer opened the door.

A godsend after shopping in Groningen to refuel at la place

Everything was fine, good and tasty, little choice of sandwiches, there were still 2 sandwiches, everything else was fine, one thing was the toilets, they were extremely dirty, and no wipes to dry your hands.

Little choice of pastries, pricey tea. Atmosphere location is fine.

Nice place for lunch. I wanted my sandwich slightly different and it was prepared immediately. Top!

This is a place I would only go if I was extremely hungry and there were no alternatives. Fries were too seasoned and too greasy, I didn't like the smoothie, had to wait a long time, the tables are so dirty that you can't use them. I felt nauseous.

It was completely reviewed but it's still a nice place to have lunch and to meet friends. Good food, great options and it's not expensive. Good view of the Groote market. Accessible with elevators and it's connected with the bike parking.

Review in February 2024: I think the opening hours until 5pm will ultimately lead to the closure of La Place. So you can no longer eat a plate here after a day in Groningen. Only sandwiches and coffee during the day. You can get it anywhere, on any street corner. That no longer distinguishes La Place from the rest of the offering. In addition, we have to eat Pumpkin 🎃 oriented dishes and cakes all season long. That is also so dated. Sorry, but I honestly think that if they continue like this, La Place will also close after some time. Shame. What a success formula it used to be. Review when the new La Place opened: New La Place at Grote Markt 21 on the 1st floor. Very busy on the first Saturday, but they had everything in stock and under control. Located above the new Jumbo and there is a La Place Express on the ground floor. I'm curious to see what else will happen in this renovated building (former V&D). Criticism? Yes. Far too small elevator. And another bad cheap elevator from Schindler (will cause many malfunctions in the future, as is generally known).

Completely renovated on the 2nd floor of the old VenD building. Delicious lunch with sustainable products. Recommended....

The food tastes good but seems to have to be brought from abroad on site. Waiting more than 20 minutes for fries is a bit crazy. If you talk to the staff about it, they just get defensive and give you an apology... very unfortunate. This was the last time.

I love cappuccino but the coffee and tea are always lukewarm. Mentioned many times but it remains lukewarm. Not tasty and I don't want it anymore.

Nice meal. Didn't have to wait long for our ordered food.

Very nice cozy place to relax after strolling around the city.

Niet bijzonder, valt op dat de broodjes steeds kleiner worden en steeds minder rijkelijk belegd zijn, maar de prijzen wel flink stijgen

Good price/value balance for food. Coffee taste bad. Enough of places around with better taste for the same price. Classic sweets with a ton of sugar. A lot of options for a breakfast or lunch. They have a small playground in the corner near the window. Most of the time it’s a noisy place, but not too much. Friendly staff. Good ventilation.

Bezoek was op 9 september 2023. Wij aten een broodje kip-kerrie salade maar de kip-kerrie was ver te zoeken!! Even vluchtig met 't mes eroverheen gestreken denk ik. Zie niet hoe ik hier een foto kan plaatsen, we hebben er wel een foto van gemaakt omdat we het nogal lachwekkend vonden, zoveel geld voor een broodje niks!!! Afrekenen bij de koffiebalie vond ik erg vreemd, gelukkig was t niet te druk. Vroeger waren de broodjes veel beter! De tafels waren niet schoon toen we gingen zitten, heb zelf met servet schoongeveegd.

Nette la place, op eerste verdieping. Vriendelijk personeel. Lekker ice-kokos-koffie en caramel koffie, heerlijke toasties. Prijs kwaliteit was goed. Toiletten schoon.

Helaas is de La Place niet meer wat het geweest is, ze kunnen er beter nog een euro bij opgooien en de broodjes voller beleggen dan wat er nu op je broodje zit. Want je moet er echt naar zoeken . En daar stond La Place juist bekent om, hun goede verse dik belegde broodjes. Ook wanneer het druk is ,moet je altijd afrekenen bij de koffie balie, en als je dan geen koffie wilt dan mag je wachten tot dat iedereen zn koffie of thee ingeschonken is. Heel jammer

Altijd lekker en vers eten! En je zit er ook leuk. Appeltaart is super lekker, met gekarakteriseerde noten. Nog eens gratis voor m’n verjaardag ook🫶🏻 Koffie ook goed, decaf mogelijk! Lieve meiden die er werken, appeltaartje even in de oven gezet voor me en er werd zelfs gevraagd hoeveel slagroom ik wilde, nou royaal natuurlijk! Heerlijk

Vriendelijk personeel en prima lunch.

De hygiëne ontbreekt. Medewerkers dragen geen handschoenen bij het voorbereiden van de maaltijden...

Ruime kuize en alles proeft vers en smaakvol. Update 2023. Overname Jumbo en 3 verbouwingen later waarbij je net wat minder drinken krijgt voor je geld (verbouwingen moeten ergens van betaald worden) en de sluitingstijd verplaatst is van 20.00 naar 18.00. Ideaal rond avond eten... beleid Jumbo... personeel en eten is gelukkig nog altijd vriendelijk/ heerlijk!

Perfect! Genoeg en netjes ruimte met vriendelijke bediening. Het eten is ook lekker 👌.

Tip... maak even de tafels schoon wanneer er mensen aan hebben zitten eten. Met moeite een schone plek gevonden.

Vandaag hier een broodje gegeten voor de lunch, welke mij bijna 6€ kostte. Daarnaast vond ik het restaurant niet heel erg sfeervol. Gelukkig werd dit goed gemaakt door het vriendelijke en behulpzame personeel en het mooie uitzicht.

Prima lunch met redelijk wat opties. Broodjes en smoothies zijn altijd vers. Vooral de locatie vind ik perfect, veel ruimte en geen krappe bedoening. Sommige broodjes zijn wel wat saai en een kopje soep is aardig aan de prijs. Jammer dat je vooral op de La Place app bent toegewezen voor goede deals.

Het eten was heerlijk en genoeg keuze ook in drinken en vond het gezellig uit zien

altijd heerlijke verse producten en vriendelijk personeel , een mooie winkel heet dat bij zij die er verstand van hebben.

We hadden wat nieuws geprobeerd een tosti met geitenkaas en abrikoos was wel heel erg lekker en de sfeer was ook goed en we konden naar buiten kijken

Hartje Groningen. Mooie lokatie op de Grote Markt. Ruime keuze in broodjes en drankjes

Lang geleden dat we nog bij Laplace waren geweest. Ze zaten toen nog op de bovenste verdieping. Bij binnenkomst is de indeling wel redelijk vertrouwd. Maar het blijft toch altijd even zoeken naar wat je wil eten. Afrekenen gaat soepel. Het theewater was jammer genoeg lauw. Servetjes lagen wat verstopt bij de kassa. De tafeltjes aan de ramen met uitzicht op de Grote Markt waren helaas alle bezet. De sfeer is ongedwongen. Het eten is goed. Ruim voldoende keus, ook voor vegetariërs. De prijzen zijn betaalbaar. Helaas is de rest van de voormalige V&D een troosteloze bedoening. Dat stimuleert niet om de grote trap te beklimmen.

Mooie gelegenheid om in de stad wat te eten en te drinken. Fijn dat La Place een vaste waarde in Groningen mag blijven.

Zeer vriendelijke bediening, lekker geluncht. Kruidenkaas of beenham? Mjamm...🤔 Snijden we de broodjes gewoon even door, lief. Wij maakten gebruik van Social Deal, top deal. Ook leuk leuk dat je in een voormalig V&D pand zit.
