Best pizza I've had in the Netherlands

A nice place to eat and be with the family. The service is very good, attentive and helpful. The food is not too big.

I found this restaurant using an app that counts calories based on a photo. The charcuterie and cheese platter fit well within my protein intake for the day. The food was very tasty. The service was prompt in a cozy establishment.

A reservation was made in no time over the phone. Very friendly staff who are attentive and helpful. The restaurant is of average size but pleasant to sit in for holding conversations. The food tasted good and we were very pleased with the service. We will definitely come back again.

Good restaurant with very attentive staff, but please do not order pastas that are not made fresh daily (like the ravioli!). I certainly saw many beautiful dishes on other tables around me—such as the pizzas with thin/crispy crusts and the ossobuco, for example—but unfortunately, we had ordered the house ravioli. It was downright bad: tough, with tasteless (somewhat falling apart) sauce, and it didn't sit well with either of us. Upon inquiry, it turned out the pasta was already 2 days old and had been reheated straight from the fridge/freezer. Many other pastas, however, are prepared fresh daily and are undoubtedly excellent. I called the restaurant afterwards and said that, in my opinion, it would be good to inform customers which pastas are made fresh daily to prevent disappointment. Or perhaps mention once in a while that a pasta is sold out; the menu is certainly extensive enough. Edit: the restaurant owner's response is incorrect. I certainly didn't “call for 30 minutes” the next day, but I did briefly inquire whether the ravioli (which we had both had and hadn't sat well with our stomachs afterwards) had been reheated. That was confirmed, and I wrote that down exactly as above. It was mentioned that ravioli is kept for up to 2 days. Perhaps the restaurant should simply serve only fresh pasta in the future? That seems more appropriate than this response. And it also fits better with the many beautiful dishes served there.

Very friendly service. The food arrives quickly. The noise level is extremely high. Not a large selection of vegetarian dishes. We expected more fresh vegetables, e.g., zucchini, which are currently plentiful, and not pasta swimming in cream sauce. You don't need dessert after that. What a shame.

We had a wonderful meal at the Italian restaurant La Stalla Ristorante. The food was truly perfect: a fantastic burrata, tasty Italian beer, and delicious dolci. The staff were generally super friendly and hospitable. One employee reacted somewhat irritably because we were a little late. In hindsight, we should have mentioned this, of course, although it wasn't entirely clear to us. Nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Are you looking for the perfect Italian restaurant in Zwolle? Then La Stalla Ristorante is definitely highly recommended!

Very tasty food. Both pizza and pasta. Excellent value for money. Not necessarily a very cozy Italian atmosphere, but a very nice place to dine.

Ate delicious pizzas, thin dough, nice crispy crust. Very well topped. Good coffee.

Reserving by phone was difficult; the Italian man was very hard to understand. We used to go there regularly in the 80s. The decor was very warm and cozy back then. Unfortunately, that was lacking now. The staff looked young and inexperienced; questions could only be answered with 'I don't know'. A shame! We found the food to be decent.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly, making the whole dining experience very enjoyable. As for the food, it was truly impressive. The cold cuts and cheese platter were perfect for sharing for 3 people. I would especially recommend the pumpkin soup, it was rich, smooth, and full of flavor. You can really taste the natural flavors of the ingredients, as the dishes are not over seasoned. Definitely worth revisiting!

The owner called us back on December 11th to confirm our reservation for December 24th. However, when we arrived on Christmas Eve, La Stalla was closed! We've never had a cancellation. The kids were disappointed, and there was no spot available in Zwolle; everything was full. We haven't received a response yet. Why look on Google when you call us to confirm the reservation?! Then you say you were open, and then say you look on Google; they call your answer "pass the buck." It's a shame you're blaming the customer, but I also want to share our experience. Your response doesn't make things any better.

Always delicious food. The service feels a bit pushy. They genuinely mean well, but they're focused on serving. This doesn't feel right when you just want a relaxed meal. But otherwise, the food is really good! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Such a lovely, cycling friendly place! I'm a long distance cyclist and they offered me to put the bike inside so I don't have to worry about it while I had a really good pizza. I was planning on taking the leftovers with me, but - no leftovers, it was just too good:)

Great meal. Pizza wasn't crispy in the middle but still super tasty. Griglio was wonderful there. The homemade desserts are especially recommended.

We are away for a weekend and are not familiar with the city of Zwolle. Many other restaurants are already fully booked, but we get a table at La Stalla. There is a table at the back, with a view of the garden with waste. Not that charming. Staff is correct. Pizzas good, generously filled, normally priced.

I think there is another owner. Since our last visit, a small renovation (for the better) has been carried out. The food was excellent. The only downside was that the person who took the order forgot to pass it on to the kitchen. After 4 'tables' that came in after us had already received their main meal, we inquired to be sure where our food was. A colleague confirmed that her colleague had forgotten to pass this on. When he finally brought the food, he did not apologize or offer a cup of coffee, for example. Could have been better.

Mistake. - the website states that the restaurant is known for its good Spezzatino ai Funghi and more. Not found on the menu. - publish a menu on the website. - offer carafe of water for free if other drinks are also used. Now you pay more than 3 euros for tap water.

Delicious casual food with enthusiastic and friendly service. We had main course and dessert. The pasta and pizzas tasted great. I haven't eaten a nice carbonara in such a long time. We had bread with spread and olives beforehand, which tasted great. The service topped it off, very nice and provided good advice on wine selection. We had a large table for 6 people and there was a little one with us. He also had a great time and received nice attention from the staff. Had a great evening.

After several times, this time really disappointed. The creme brulee was the most delicious, but had plastic in it (which can happen I guess). Without making a fuss, just kindly report it at checkout. The response to this was very laconic, it was even simply refuted. We were not taken seriously. I'm not talking about cling film, but really hard pieces of plastic in our mouths. No apologies or discount. Friendly waitresses though! The food was predominantly tomato sauce and then the rest, no love. The (Dutch) bolognese was well... you really can't call yourself an Italian restaurant. Of the 4, 3 were actually not happy with the main course. Once we had the delicious dessert, suddenly no one came to the table, otherwise we could have asked about the plastic. Have eaten here before and always okay, but this time it was substandard: in terms of attentiveness and understanding, but above all the overall taste. The people at the table are better at making authentic sauces and pasta. Friendly staff, again (except for one). But we won't be there anymore.

Excellent Italian cuisine, delicious pizza (thin base!), but you should actually go for another dish, such as the pollo al limone, baked in sage butter, delicious with risotto and fried garlic mushrooms. Take the Grillo as a white wine, wonderfully fresh and much more flavor than the Pinot Grigio.

The food was very tasty, only my dad's mixed grill chicken fillet was very salty, which I also passed on to the waitress. The steak and all the other mixed grill meat, on the other hand, were really perfectly prepared! All pasta dishes are recommended, really delicious! The service was top notch, the food was brought to our table surprisingly quickly within 20 minutes. If my dad's chicken hadn't been so salty it would have been 5 stars, the tiramisu I shared with my mom was a bit soggy and had little flavor so I don't recommend it and neither does my mom. The price is definitely worth it, not expensive at all for what you get as long as you know approximately what you are ordering. 👍

Delicious food and lots of choice!! The pizza is not your normal salami pizza, but with pesto, fried eggplant and much more. A real piece of Italy. The thin base is wonderfully crispy and ensures that you are not super full. Definitely worth it if you are in Zwolle 💗

We sit in the back part where there is a strange smell, so not pleasant, but I hope the food is good.

Food is very tasty and of good quality. You will be given a limited time to eat (1 hour and 45 minutes). If you want something to drink or coffee afterwards, there is no option for this because after serving dessert they simply don't come by until you have to leave. Furthermore, it is very noisy, so you can hardly hear each other without talking very loudly.

Zwolle has countless pizzerias, but only two are the best; Terra Italiana for the Neapolitan style, and La Stalla for the thin crispy Roman style. Definitely go here, highly recommended!

It was very tasty and good service. Friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. For good conversations you shouldn't say anything because the only thing said after every bite was: 'ohh delicious!' and then another bite. Highly recommended! We had the pizza genovesa with chicken, tomato, pine nuts and pesto (delicious and unique taste) and the pasta arabiata (nice and spicy), also a good tiramisu for dessert. Together with a drink you spend less than €50.
