Lavinia Good Food in Grachtengordel-Zuid

Average too high prized food. Carrot cake was fine, but too sweet with too much cinnamon. The pumpkin soup didn’t taste like pumpkin due to the overwhelming amount of coconut cream and spicy spices. The avocado toast with salmon and egg was ok but the avocado spread seemed not very fresh. Won’t return!

Nice, atmospheric place for breakfast or lunch. I had the French toast and although the amount of fruit was overwhelming, I thought the toast itself was a bit too soft. My girlfriend had the pumpkin toast and loved it. The pistachio cake was tasty, but just didn't blow me away. The servers were two nice and well-meaning teenagers, who were just not the most attentive waiters. I really had to signal them to order dessert and our table was not cleared automatically. A point for improvement.

After a long search, we found Lavina for a group of seven people. We were warmly welcomed and had a wide selection of food. The dishes were mostly delicious, especially the chef's creations. We were served quickly and also received great advice. We can recommend Lavina to everyone.

Tryed to get a coffee there, but two women just stand behind the counter talking to each other and no one comes to the table to give you a menu or take your order. There was only one waiter doing all the work.

We visited Lavinia Good Food in Amsterdam and were quite disappointed. While the ambiance was nice, it was too noisy to enjoy a relaxed meal (but well as much Dutch restaurant, so it didn't bothered us so much). The food itself was good and tasty, but overpriced for the portion sizes, we were still hungry at the end of the lunch, despite taking a dessert (which were nice and pretty faired priced). The juices tasted fine, but again, the quantity was disappointing for the price. As for the chai latte, it was downright awful — it tasted like plain milk with a hint of spices. We didn’t even finish it. The service was deplorable. There were three waitresses who spent most of their time chatting behind the counter instead of attending to the customers. We had to call them over every single time we needed something. To top it off, at the end of our meal, the waitresses asked us to leave in order to free up the table, which felt pretty rushed. The only saving grace was the older gentleman in the kitchen, who was incredibly kind and seemed to be doing twice as much work as the three waitresses combined. For a bill of nearly €85 for three people, this was far from worth it. We wouldn’t recommend it.

Little Messy, Bathroom needs maintenance, Floor in Dining Area dirty. Bring at least 1.5 hours of time with you for breakfast to get served.

If you ever find yourself in Amsterdam on a cold and blustery day, I hope you can find your way here… because, if you do, they have a spectacular pumpkin soup! Served with fresh warm bread, this has been the most satisfying meal I’ve had in Amsterdam over the course of the last four days! Bravo Lavinia! And they have delicious cappuccino to boot.

Delicious food, but the service was really mediocre. Young girls without a manager or hostess with experience in the workplace. There were only 6 tables of guests and yet the two girls seemed to be out of control. We had to wait a long time to be helped, dirty tables and when we asked for the bill, we were allowed to pay immediately instead of being shown the bill first. Fortunately, I got it afterwards when I asked for it, and fortunately because she had packed a double lunch. It's strange that they don't check the bill in advance before printing it out and giving it to the guest. Very inexperienced staff and not really friendly or hospitable. Doesn't match the delicious food served. We were there on Sunday November 17th

Have you been craving breakfast all day? You will definitely find something delicious at Lavinia. The atmosphere is pleasant, the plate layout is beautiful and the food leaves you wanting more. Not because it is too little, but because you can have breakfast here all day long. Craving for breakfast at odd hours? At Lavinia you'll sure to find something to your liking. The ambiance is cozy, the plating looks fabulous and the food makes you scream for more. Not because it's not enough, but because you'll want to stay here having breakfast the whole day long.

This is a beautiful place to have breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The staff is incredibly sweet and caring and the food is amazing! Highly recommend! Will come back next time <3

Out of all the brunch places in Amsterdam this is one of my new favorites. The location is super central and the vibe inside is a mix of industrial and alternative chic with cool art works on a wall and cozy furniture. The cakes, which I believe they make themselves are delicious. We also had a full brunch with the shakshuka and the roasted eggplant. Prices are not cheap but you get a MASSIVE plate. So definitely get your moneys worth. The eggplant with portobello bacon was super nice, hummus very creamy and everything harmonized well with each other. I was missing some bread on the side which would have been nice but quantity wise definitely not needed. Service was friendly although not the most attentive but still 4 stars worth. All in all I would definitely come again. Also because (unlike other brunch places) it’s not overcrowded on a Sunday and they don’t kick you out after 1,5h. Will come again 🫶🏾

It would have been so good to not ruin my avocado toast with feta that wasn’t even mentioned on the ingredient list on the menu… Apart from that, most options are vegetarian and vegan and look very tasty there.

I liked the food, service was average and nothing spectacular. I got the wrong juice, staff gave me the one I ordered without a hassle when I told them though. My meal came with a small portion of bread. I asked for extra and got it, saw that they charged extra for it. Without informing me that it would be extras. Why charging extra for bread when everyone at the table already spent 30/40 euro per person? Maybe it’s a Dutch thing idk. Nice experience overall I will be back.

It was the best Shakshuka I've ever had! We wanted to find somewhere to have a healthy lunch (it was really difficult to find anywhere in Amsterdam). Luckily we came across Lavinia and it did not disappoint. The food was so fresh and yummy. The only area for improvement is the service, as the waitress kept forgetting our order and not writing it down. Also the price is more on the pricier side, especially for the drinks but there's a free water dispenser which is a huge bonus!

I went here for all three of my breakfasts while in Amsterdam. The Lavinia plate is excellent! There’s also gluten free options.

Everything was great :) the shakshuka was really good. The vegan scrambled eggs had a little too much turmeric in them. The service was super friendly.

We were a little disappointed in the quality of the food and the customer service. The owner was very unfriendly and a little rude at times what made the experience not worth the money.

The energiser bowl was SO good and though it’s a bit more expensive than my budget it has left me full for the whole day sooo worth it?? Plus the ingredients were such good quality, and you can tell they prepare their food with care. the place was adorable, kind staff, highly recommend if you want a fresh healthy meal!

Worst experience ever…. Food is eatable but nothing special. The waiter was so unfriendly and unsanitary (he was taking slices of cake barehanded in between cleaning tables preparing drinks without washing his hands…) on top of that at the moment of paying the bill there is an automatic option for tips. At least start by being friendly before asking for a tip, in the USA there is a tipping system but there is a friendly service…

Would skip the acai bowl (too watery), but recommend the avocado toast or chicken club!

The place is charming but I didn't like it in general. As soon as we arrived, the table where we sat was dirty full of crumbs and they didn't come and clean it. I think the price is somewhat huge for the food they produce, I ordered a natural juice where the menu says freshly squeezed and I see that they have them in plastic bottles in the refrigerator, for me it tasted more like industrial orange, it cost me 4.75 € and the glass was very small, the toast I ordered did not notice any flavor, it was just a toast with many things filling the plate without further ado, when the toast already costs you 15.50 and for adding salmon I raise you 5.50 more To the price. For me, the service and food for what it costs is exorbitant.

A friend and I went to Lavinia’s as a quick break. It is in a good location and it had a good atmosphere inside. The menu described their drinks to come with plant milk as a standard, however an extra €0.50 was charged. When we asked the staff why we were charged extra when on the menu the matcha was described to be made with coconut milk they just said they didn’t know why. We sat at the front and waited as we were taking it away. When we got our drinks my friends lid was cracked so she burnt her hand very lightly. The replacement lid they put on was also cracked.😓 🕰️ We waited for 10-15minutes to receive our order. 🙋🏻‍♀️Staff: meh, not rude but not very welcoming, friendly or helpful. 💶 Price: overpriced. €30 for 2 drinks and a bowl. Wouldn’t return

Very cozy and cute place with the most delicious banana pancakes!!

Stopped in here for lunch. They serve a sort of all day breakfast, and we had the scrambled tofu on toast with portobello mushrooms. It was delicious!! The freshly squeezed juices were also great. Plenty of tables in a relatively small space made it a little noisy, but not objectionably so. Service was fast, and very friendly and helpful.

Super varied menu and perfect for a brunch with friends. The food is good but the service (especially of the drinks) is inexplicably slow, we waited longer for the coffee, milk and water than for our dishes. The place is really nice, I like it a lot and I will go back because the options on the menu are really interesting. I would also like to point out a disservice regarding the booking, in order to improve it: I called the place and they told me to book online, but their website doesn't work.

Quite coincidentally we were near this restaurant and therefore had not made a reservation. After waiting on the couch we were able to sit down at the table. In the meantime, the staff was working hard to provide everyone with drinks and food. Despite the somewhat long wait, our patience was richly rewarded with the tastiest lunch in a long time! We ordered chicken on a Moroccan pancake and shakshuka. Very friendly service and delicious food. Highly recommended!

Alternative / Non dairy milks for $0.50 extra • Almond • Coconut • Oat • Soy Great food. I was really pleased with the dishes, including the "Boost your system" carrot and ginger juice. Wifi available.

This week I ordered food to cater for my birthday. The reason was that I wanted to eat well and, above all, I wanted to be taken care of. Although I thought it was pricey (€25 pp), I knew the quality would be good and I chose to do so. The quality was indeed good and left nothing to be desired. When we arrived home, it turned out that the hummus had been forgotten. When I texted about this, I received an apology and that I still owe it. The food turned out to be far from enough for us and I did everything I could to make it a filling meal. This ended up being even more expensive and especially stressful. The next day I shared this as feedback and was thanked for sharing it. What I found disappointing was that nothing from themselves was offered as compensation in any form. The latter in particular means that I did not have a good feeling about this and will therefore not use Lavinia again.

I had a breakfast in this space. I took pumpkin pancakes with fresh fruits and maple syrup. It tasted good with all the toppings, but the pancakes alone tasted too much like oil for me (it is my personal opinion). 18,15€ for pancakes and an americano

I used to like to go here but they really cheapened the menu and raised the prices. Today I paid 15 Euro for a pumpkin soup that contained no pumpkin at all and two pieces of burnt toast. It was just coconut milk with spicy oil I think, I felt nauseous all day and should have stopped eating even sooner. When I talked to the waitress she begrudgingly brought me a new small piece of bread and never forgave us. My friend is vegan and asked if the vegan option meant that the optional chicken might be substitute chicken, the waitress reacted only condescendingly: no, how could we even ask. The portions also got much smaller, very unfortunate.

Great place for a chill brunch, can happily recommend it. The ingredients and food were all seemed fresh and good quality. One of my favorite places for brunches in Amsterdam!

Nice atmosphere, good food, bad service. We were not there during a busy moment and still - had to get up and go to the counter multiple times in order to get service (menus, placing orders, paying... and no, it is not a "place your order at the counter" type of establishment; the waiting staff was just busy chatting with each other). Unfortunately, that definitely impacted negatively the whole experience.

We went here for breakfast and it was good. Could have used some seasoning, but we had salt we could put on ourselves. It wasn’t that busy, so we could easily have a table for two. ONLY downside was that we were told they were sold out of cows milk, which was a bummer, but I then choose oat milk. We found out at the end, that he charged us for the oat milk. The nice thing to do when it’s sold out is to give the only other option for free ?

Insalata Bang Bang con feta e funghi buonissima. Location carina, ambiente tranquillo e intimo. Ottimo servizio, sono tutti stati gentile e leggeri. Prezzo leggermente ma è quello della zona, 25 euro una insalata e un bicchieri di vino.

I really liked my egg toast and most of my group had a good meal here. Except my vegan friend who said her vegan option was not good. Accommodating to gluten free (celiac) friend.

They have really good avocado toast and the homemade ice tea was really refreshing on such a warm day. The waitresses where really sweet.

I had an Acai and to be honest I didn't enjoy to much. I think it's too expensive almost 15€ for a bowl where they serve only a poor amount of fruit but therefore a huge amount of granola. To me it didn't seem too colourful, pretty much only smoothie and granola.

Had the three egg and toast with the pulled beef. Sure it is a little pricey but the food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommended!

They fell short.. not really refined tast or structure. I had high expectations; great scenery, cosy setup, great menu with firm prices. Little disappointing when tasting the dishes. Can’t compare this(food wise) with e.g. “two hands” in the US or “Echt” in the north of the Netherlands.(check my other reviews).

The worst espresso I ever tasted. It was watery, zero crema, moldy. I thought maybe they just ran the machine with some extracted coffee from while ago. Also the. little cup was broken but don't really care as long as the coffee is drinkable

Terribly inattentive and slow service and the high tea is a complete rip off: nothing more than two slices of toasted bread with hummus dips plus 1.5 pieces of cake. So sad because all the food that others had looked good. I wanted to love it here when I came in

Wir hatten hier vor einiger Zeit ein sehr leckeres Frühstück und fanden den Laden insgesamt sehr schick. Es wird hier scheinbar viel Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit gelegt. Sowohl das Essen als auch das Lokal wirken sehr naturorientiert. Das Bananenbrot war echt toll, die Oatsbowls aber auch. Vielen Dank, wir kommen wieder.
