The food was really fantastic and the service exceptionally friendly!!

I don’t know why I keep giving a chance to this establishment. Every time I’m here I wait for to be served for longer than any other place in Amsterdam for the simplest of dishes. I asked for an avocado toast and got a sad sad plate with some greens and red cabbage sprinkled on the plate, a thick bread (delicious I’ll give them that), avocado and one tiny poached to the level of hard boiled egg. Including the small orange juice I had with it I paid 20,75€. I also shared my displeasure with the staff.

The atmosphere is phenomenal. We loved the food espacially the carprese toast. Everything was great. Brilliant establishment🥰

Banana pancakes were really good, the fruit was really fresh too. Nice coffee and the staff were so friendly. We were there around 11am and it was nice and quiet.

Great brunch spot, trend dishes like pancakes, avocado toast, açaí and similar. Bread was very good and all dishes in general full flavor. Amsterdam prices, two people, three dishes and two drinks each was around 40€.

Very disappointed. Extremely dirty! The whole place needs a thorough cleaning. The sight of the dirt unfortunately spoiled our appetite. €50 for 2 breakfasts and 2 chai lattes. The price is unjustified. The chai latte came from a ready-made powder. You could taste it! Way too expensive for that! The staff was extremely listless. They were sitting at the table next to us and playing on their phones. – Maybe they should use the time to clean instead of playing games. – Small tip. We won't be back. Worst experience, if I forget about service as the waitress was not really paying attention about her costumers, on the other hand she was kind and she gave us discount as an apology. Meanwhile in the kitchen we’ve got an avocado toast with guacamole that was almost sparkling, disgusting it was there at least one week. When we complained, the chef got mad. He started the new guacamole with cursing in the kitchen. He went to the table and pick the rest of the rotten guacamole from our plates. Well, this experience I’ve never seen in my life. Hope we will not get any food poisoning.

Ordered a gluten-free avocado sandwich. It came with some brownish avocado mash and an undercooked egg, even egg-white was raw. I didn’t even get a full slice of bread - just a transparent half-slice, even though you pay extra for a gluten-free bread. Overall, the portion was tiny, poor quality and definitely not worth the money.

All of us who tried the French toast, the toast with scrambled eggs, and the shakshuka were very delicious.

The service was very friendly and attentive, despite the language barrier. The prices are generally reasonable, but seem excessive for the small portions. The food, however, tasted excellent. 🙏🏻 The restaurant is ideal for breakfast: a pleasant atmosphere and a great way to start the day. One criticism, however, is that we weren't informed from the start that only card payments were accepted.

Very friendly staff, great and organic products

I must say I loved stumbling into this germ of a restaurant. The vibe is pretty laid back and relaxed. The food looked appealing (I ordered from what another customer was having, the way it looked so good and I did not regret it at all). My wife also had something with a pancake in it and when I say we called home (South Africa) about it. WE CALLED HOME ABOUT IT. Definitely worth checking out and please do.

We waited forever for someone to come over and give us our menus, and then again until we could order, even though only one other table was occupied and the two waiters were standing behind the counter chatting... No, the food was good, my colleague's was okay. All considering the very high prices...

We had lunch here four times during our week in Amsterdam. Fairly simple but good healthy option, very friendly service, in a lovely little corner of Amsterdam.

I almost never write a bad review, but on the way home, I was still surprised. You pay for the atmosphere and the city center location. The service is friendly, but that's where it ends. Lunch in Amsterdam isn't cheap, but here the sandwiches are 18 (!!!) euros, and we paid 20 euros for gluten-free. With prices like that, you have to serve a spectacular meal... which it was anything but... We got a wafer-thin slice of bread with chicken, guacamole, apple, and boiled lemon... we didn't like the combination, so we left the lemon and apple off. The Chai Latte was also lukewarm and cloyingly sweet. I hope the owner/chef revises their prices, portions, and ingredients soon...

Not good food. Very expensive for basic stuff from packets that doesn’t taste nice or have any effort put into it. Bit of a scam and wouldn’t recommend. The waitress was lovely though and was very obviously embarrassed to be serving the very much underwhelming food she had to serve. There are much better places to go where you won’t be ripped off.

The food in general was okay, but we expected way more - based on the prices and the motto to serve local and healthy food. It was very warm inside (although 15 degrees Celsius outside). The avocado toast was quite good, but it could have been more avocado. But the banana pancakes were way too sweet and we could only eat 1,5 of the 3 in a portion (for 15 Euros). The pancakes were partly burned and overall way too dark. We paid 70 Euros for a breakfast for two, but went hungry and disappointed. Although there was not too much going on, no one cared to ask whether we were satisfied with the food.

The special Pumpkin Toast is absolutely amazing!!!

The place is cozy, simple but nice, and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The food is nice and they serve you a decent portion. The waitress was super smiley and very nice, she made the experience 10x better. I can only recommend this place!

I visited as a solo traveler from Hong Kong. I ordered just one vegan egg sandwich and one coffee, but was charged €43.30. When I checked the receipt later, I realized multiple food items were added that I never ordered. It felt like the staff Sonia, deliberately made up orders to overcharge me. To make things worse, when I asked what Portobello meant, the staff lady member laughed at me — I believe she assumed I didn’t understand English. While the food itself was good, the experience left me feeling disrespected and scammed. As a traveler, especially one navigating a new country alone, this was deeply disappointing. I hope no one else has to go through this.

But what a find!! We had a blast! I recommend the pancakes with my eyes closed. By far the best I have ever eaten in my life...

Welcoming and buzzing with positive energy - we found this cafe/restaurant when we were looking for somewhere for lunch. The menu is full of appetizing dishes that you know will do you nothing but good, so choosing what to have is a difficult decision. We were a group of six and without exception we loved the food and the place and felt blessed to have found it. The service was wonderful, the food arrived promptly and was fresh and delicious.Thank you Lavinina's for a most enjoyable meal.

The place looks very nice and the desserts are delicious. But the food seemed far from being healthy: the chicken sandwich was way too spicy and the potatoes were very oily and spicy too. I have a very sensitive stomach and for a person with a similar peculiarity I am totally not recommending this dish. Very sad to say it, but I didn’t like the food and the feeling after it was very uncomfortable.

I come here every time when I’m in Amserdam and am never disapointed! Increadible food and ambiance <3

A surprise for me. I didn't know it. The food was delicious. It was busy, most tables were full. Two people worked there, the cook who you could see working in the kitchen and the woman who served, but it all happened quickly and efficiently while there was a very relaxed and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended, although I don't hope for TikTok rows.

Average too high prized food. Carrot cake was fine, but too sweet with too much cinnamon. The pumpkin soup didn’t taste like pumpkin due to the overwhelming amount of coconut cream and spicy spices. The avocado toast with salmon and egg was ok but the avocado spread seemed not very fresh. Won’t return!

Nice, atmospheric place for breakfast or lunch. I had the French toast and although the amount of fruit was overwhelming, I thought the toast itself was a bit too soft. My girlfriend had the pumpkin toast and loved it. The pistachio cake was tasty, but just didn't blow me away. The servers were two nice and well-meaning teenagers, who were just not the most attentive waiters. I really had to signal them to order dessert and our table was not cleared automatically. A point for improvement.

After a long search, we found Lavina for a group of seven people. We were warmly welcomed and had a wide selection of food. The dishes were mostly delicious, especially the chef's creations. We were served quickly and also received great advice. We can recommend Lavina to everyone.

Tryed to get a coffee there, but two women just stand behind the counter talking to each other and no one comes to the table to give you a menu or take your order. There was only one waiter doing all the work.

We visited Lavinia Good Food in Amsterdam and were quite disappointed. While the ambiance was nice, it was too noisy to enjoy a relaxed meal (but well as much Dutch restaurant, so it didn't bothered us so much). The food itself was good and tasty, but overpriced for the portion sizes, we were still hungry at the end of the lunch, despite taking a dessert (which were nice and pretty faired priced). The juices tasted fine, but again, the quantity was disappointing for the price. As for the chai latte, it was downright awful — it tasted like plain milk with a hint of spices. We didn’t even finish it. The service was deplorable. There were three waitresses who spent most of their time chatting behind the counter instead of attending to the customers. We had to call them over every single time we needed something. To top it off, at the end of our meal, the waitresses asked us to leave in order to free up the table, which felt pretty rushed. The only saving grace was the older gentleman in the kitchen, who was incredibly kind and seemed to be doing twice as much work as the three waitresses combined. For a bill of nearly €85 for three people, this was far from worth it. We wouldn’t recommend it.

Little Messy, Bathroom needs maintenance, Floor in Dining Area dirty. Bring at least 1.5 hours of time with you for breakfast to get served.

If you ever find yourself in Amsterdam on a cold and blustery day, I hope you can find your way here… because, if you do, they have a spectacular pumpkin soup! Served with fresh warm bread, this has been the most satisfying meal I’ve had in Amsterdam over the course of the last four days! Bravo Lavinia! And they have delicious cappuccino to boot.

Delicious food, but the service was really mediocre. Young girls without a manager or hostess with experience in the workplace. There were only 6 tables of guests and yet the two girls seemed to be out of control. We had to wait a long time to be helped, dirty tables and when we asked for the bill, we were allowed to pay immediately instead of being shown the bill first. Fortunately, I got it afterwards when I asked for it, and fortunately because she had packed a double lunch. It's strange that they don't check the bill in advance before printing it out and giving it to the guest. Very inexperienced staff and not really friendly or hospitable. Doesn't match the delicious food served. We were there on Sunday November 17th

Have you been craving breakfast all day? You will definitely find something delicious at Lavinia. The atmosphere is pleasant, the plate layout is beautiful and the food leaves you wanting more. Not because it is too little, but because you can have breakfast here all day long. Craving for breakfast at odd hours? At Lavinia you'll sure to find something to your liking. The ambiance is cozy, the plating looks fabulous and the food makes you scream for more. Not because it's not enough, but because you'll want to stay here having breakfast the whole day long.

This is a beautiful place to have breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The staff is incredibly sweet and caring and the food is amazing! Highly recommend! Will come back next time <3

Out of all the brunch places in Amsterdam this is one of my new favorites. The location is super central and the vibe inside is a mix of industrial and alternative chic with cool art works on a wall and cozy furniture. The cakes, which I believe they make themselves are delicious. We also had a full brunch with the shakshuka and the roasted eggplant. Prices are not cheap but you get a MASSIVE plate. So definitely get your moneys worth. The eggplant with portobello bacon was super nice, hummus very creamy and everything harmonized well with each other. I was missing some bread on the side which would have been nice but quantity wise definitely not needed. Service was friendly although not the most attentive but still 4 stars worth. All in all I would definitely come again. Also because (unlike other brunch places) it’s not overcrowded on a Sunday and they don’t kick you out after 1,5h. Will come again 🫶🏾

It would have been so good to not ruin my avocado toast with feta that wasn’t even mentioned on the ingredient list on the menu… Apart from that, most options are vegetarian and vegan and look very tasty there.

I liked the food, service was average and nothing spectacular. I got the wrong juice, staff gave me the one I ordered without a hassle when I told them though. My meal came with a small portion of bread. I asked for extra and got it, saw that they charged extra for it. Without informing me that it would be extras. Why charging extra for bread when everyone at the table already spent 30/40 euro per person? Maybe it’s a Dutch thing idk. Nice experience overall I will be back.

It was the best Shakshuka I've ever had! We wanted to find somewhere to have a healthy lunch (it was really difficult to find anywhere in Amsterdam). Luckily we came across Lavinia and it did not disappoint. The food was so fresh and yummy. The only area for improvement is the service, as the waitress kept forgetting our order and not writing it down. Also the price is more on the pricier side, especially for the drinks but there's a free water dispenser which is a huge bonus!

I went here for all three of my breakfasts while in Amsterdam. The Lavinia plate is excellent! There’s also gluten free options.

Everything was great :) the shakshuka was really good. The vegan scrambled eggs had a little too much turmeric in them. The service was super friendly.

We were a little disappointed in the quality of the food and the customer service. The owner was very unfriendly and a little rude at times what made the experience not worth the money.

Plus the ingredients were such good quality, and you can tell they prepare their food with care. the place was adorable, kind staff, highly recommend if you want a fresh healthy meal!

Worst experience ever…. Food is eatable but nothing special. The waiter was so unfriendly and unsanitary (he was taking slices of cake barehanded in between cleaning tables preparing drinks without washing his hands…) on top of that at the moment of paying the bill there is an automatic option for tips. At least start by being friendly before asking for a tip, in the USA there is a tipping system but there is a friendly service…

The place is charming but I didn't like it in general. As soon as we arrived, the table where we sat was dirty full of crumbs and they didn't come and clean it. I think the price is somewhat huge for the food they produce, I ordered a natural juice where the menu says freshly squeezed and I see that they have them in plastic bottles in the refrigerator, for me it tasted more like industrial orange, it cost me 4.75 € and the glass was very small, the toast I ordered did not notice any flavor, it was just a toast with many things filling the plate without further ado, when the toast already costs you 15.50 and for adding salmon I raise you 5.50 more To the price. For me, the service and food for what it costs is exorbitant.

A friend and I went to Lavinia’s as a quick break. It is in a good location and it had a good atmosphere inside. The menu described their drinks to come with plant milk as a standard, however an extra €0.50 was charged. When we asked the staff why we were charged extra when on the menu the matcha was described to be made with coconut milk they just said they didn’t know why. We sat at the front and waited as we were taking it away. When we got our drinks my friends lid was cracked so she burnt her hand very lightly. The replacement lid they put on was also cracked.😓 🕰️ We waited for 10-15minutes to receive our order. 🙋🏻‍♀️Staff: meh, not rude but not very welcoming, friendly or helpful. 💶 Price: overpriced. €30 for 2 drinks and a bowl. Wouldn’t return

Very cozy and cute place with the most delicious banana pancakes!!

Stopped in here for lunch. They serve a sort of all day breakfast, and we had the scrambled tofu on toast with portobello mushrooms. It was delicious!! The freshly squeezed juices were also great. Plenty of tables in a relatively small space made it a little noisy, but not objectionably so. Service was fast, and very friendly and helpful.

Super varied menu and perfect for a brunch with friends. The food is good but the service (especially of the drinks) is inexplicably slow, we waited longer for the coffee, milk and water than for our dishes. The place is really nice, I like it a lot and I will go back because the options on the menu are really interesting. I would also like to point out a disservice regarding the booking, in order to improve it: I called the place and they told me to book online, but their website doesn't work.

Quite coincidentally we were near this restaurant and therefore had not made a reservation. After waiting on the couch we were able to sit down at the table. In the meantime, the staff was working hard to provide everyone with drinks and food. Despite the somewhat long wait, our patience was richly rewarded with the tastiest lunch in a long time! We ordered chicken on a Moroccan pancake and shakshuka. Very friendly service and delicious food. Highly recommended!
