Le Provence in Wijk 01 Sneek

The price/quality ratio is far from ideal, a simple lunch... a satay baguette, a goat cheese sandwich, and two orange juices for only €38. How do you price yourself out of the market? Next time I'll go to Bakker Bart; I'll be done for €18.

Broodjes and snacks are good but the prices seem to be more expensive than the were in years past for the same menu. It's good but nothing to be crazy about.

Weak coffee and pastries from the freezer.

Soggy croquettes and a Hawaiian sandwich with loads of cheap cheese that hung over the bun like a limp dishcloth. A DE cappuccino with disgusting milk. Quality is a choice, so to speak. I advise the chef to take some training. You can't serve this in 2025.

A very weak cappuccino, not even fresh because it came from a vending machine, and the price was €4.20 per cup. It's outrageous to charge so much for a dump!

Price quality is very bad. Way too expensive for what you get! Tourists still fall for it but you won't see the real Sneker there.

The 2 sandwiches made of chewing gum and cardboard were particularly tough and therefore difficult to eat.

Delicious pannini with chicken and pesto. Reasonably priced. €52 for 1 planning, portion of bitterballen and 7 drinks. But yes, everything has become more expensive. Bitterballen were decent.

De lunch was ronduit slecht. Het brood, de ham, de kaas, het was allemaal van matige kwaliteit. Voor die prijzen mag je verwachten, dat een lunchroom, kwalitatieve ingredienten gebruikt. Het zou me niets verbazen,als deze zaak de inkoop bij de supermarkt op de hoek koopt. Zeker geen aanrader

I have enjoyed many mint teas or preferably mint/ginger but have never been asked do you want honey with it? Yes, that is part of it, right? Waitress we always have to ask. When paying it became clear why you have to pay extra! Why make the tea a euro more expensive, then they laugh sheepishly. Read other reviews, from that I conclude that the price-quality ratio leaves much to be desired. I wonder do you now also have to pay extra for sugar with coffee?

Just had lunch, the bouncer was cold and the sandwich was also cold, communicated at checkout. Masr okk that's a disappointment oh shame and no further excuses or anything like that

Overheerlijke mosterdsoep dat voor mij ietsje warmer had gemogen maar dat deed niets af aan de smaak. De wrap kip pesto dat op ons verzoek ingepakt was, was goed van smaak . Tel daarbij de vriendelijke bediening op en je bent weer een prettige ervaring rijker.

I recently had coffee with you here, but there is probably something wrong with your machine. I keep getting that weak coffee. So if you want better coffee you better go to the doppio.

What nice benches outside! And what a lovely staff. I had the croquettes on bread but they were returned because they were soft and cold. I received new ones again.... Slightly warmer but still cardboard. Turns out they came from the air fryer. That's possible. So I ordered a carpaccio salad; what a good plate of food that was! My husband had a flammkuchen chicken which was also delicious. Well solved girls and yes you can eat here!

Le Provence is a great cafe and very suitable for a short break or a longer stop. The location is great. A shady oasis in the middle of the shopping street where you can sit wonderfully. The map is clear. Whether it's toast with ham and cheese or nachos, it's simply delicious. The waitresses are quick and friendly. You just feel good and the visit is highly recommended.

We don't mind spending something on a terrace, but a Club sandwich for €15 here consists of a few sloppily cut pieces of white bread with bacon, chicken and some vegetables crammed in between. Soft drink €4. The service is also neat and friendly.

I had a chicken curry sandwich, with pineapple and cheese. This cost almost 15 euros. Just look at the photos to see what it looks like. I reported it to the waiter. The answer was that it is perhaps slightly less because of the Sneek week. Well, I'm very sorry that offering this for 15 euros is really not possible. If the staff had reacted differently, I certainly wouldn't have posted this review!

We left again because there was no service. Went to the desk. No one cared to look up. No English menu card so not sure what they serve.

2 pastries for € 11,- 😳😲😳😲. We would like to sit on a terrace for a cup of coffee and a cake, but the prices have risen so much that you can no longer afford them!!! I understand that everything has become more expensive and that something has to be earned (that's what the staff told me) But €5.50 for 1 small hazelnut pastry is really no longer okay....

Paid €20.00 for 2 coffees and 2 cakes. The cake was nothing special. Actually way too expensive in my opinion.

Quaint place where I spent two days working. Polite staff, who were all a little curious why a pair of foreigners were sat about in their cafe. Food and drinks affordable, yet tasty, highly recommend for a quick bite if you’re in the area. With a light drizzle of rain to top it off, there certainly wasn’t anywhere better to be in Sneek.

Nice lunch and a Gerilex atmosphere. Friendly service. And shopping is also fun in Sneek. Take a break.

The service was friendly. The location is fine. The food was disappointing. I ordered a meatball, I received a container with about ten bland soft Ikea meatballs. And that for 13.95...

If I had read the reviews in advance I wouldn't have gone in. Nice to see and friendly service. The meatball sandwich turned out to be a set of dirty fricandel-like balls and the chicken wrap contained a small amount of chicken fillet. There is a purchasing problem underlying this. Owner will take a look at this. The gold plating is not correct and we will not be returning.

Two cappuccinos for €7.50, which was no more than a container of lukewarm milk with a coffee bean stirred into it. Really bad.

A very nice cafe. Nice and friendly service. There is also good food. If you're ever there, you should visit it. The interior is also very nicely designed.

Overall rating: The price is disproportionate compared to what you get. A bouncer for 13.50 and with scant toppings. The smallest bouncer I've seen in a long time. The dishes have become more sparse and the prices have increased. Too bad, we liked coming there. In addition, an iced green tea for 4.75 I think is out of proportion.

The food is nothing special (slice of chicken fillet, mayo, standard sandwich with some lettuce) for too high a price. Service is fast but impersonal.

The food was tasty, just enough (for me). The service was fast, we were helped quickly and friendly. I've been there before and know it's good.

Good coffee and delicious tarte flambée. Nicely located, cozy and comfortable.

We had already noticed that it was not that busy while other places were full. It says croissanterie on the facade, but no croissant on the menu. Sandwiches are extremely expensive so we had high expectations. So that was a huge mistake. Flabby pistolet, canned meatballs, lame sauce and some iceberg lettuce. Not recommended, not tasty and way too expensive.

Negativity is of paramount importance at this tent.

You should always treat yourself to a fresh, warm croissant and a good latte macchiato here!

Nice restaurant with a nice lunch menu. Easily accessible for wheelchair users with very attentive and courteous staff. Recommended!!

Wrap looked like it came from a ready-made package. Prices were very expensive. They used to have delicious sandwiches here for a not too expensive price, but this was no longer the way it used to be. The wrap was with slices of chicken fillet and pale tomato, nothing special about it. Had to pay a total of €34 for two people, much too expensive. We won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Ordered a ham sandwich for 11 euros. Got three slices. Something was said about this at checkout. The amount of ham appears to depend on the person making the sandwich. For 11 euros this tends to be a rip-off... Not recommended!

Neat place, quick service but extremely expensive, and the product is not like that: 2 sandwiches, a Berenburg and a special coffee costs almost 31 euros here. Really too expensive for what you get. We'll miss this next time

Never again. We were out for a day with friends. So to Sneek. Had a lot of fun. We drank coffee on the terrace at Le Provence. Expensive, but hey, we're out for a day. Pastry from 5.50 euros. Then it will be very tasty. ?! Terrible, what a dry pastry!! So brought back inside, they would call the baker. The waiter did not come back to us to ask if we would like something else. So we went inside to pay for 5 coffees and 1 pastry (half of which was eaten because she was hungry). 2 pastries were taken off the bill and we had to pay for the other 3. I said they weren't eaten. But she boy was so arrogant and said pastries were fresh. So the bill is 5 normal coffees and 3 dry cottage cheese tarts for 31.50 euros. We will never come here again!

Reminder: before you walk in and take a seat, take a look at the menu and decide whether you find the prices acceptable. It is no problem to pay a fair price, but these prices are on the high side for what you get.

After paying, I left full of surprise. We drank a Ginger ale with almost no spark and an iced green tea, but we didn't get a bottle on the table. So I poured it from a large bottle... Paid €9 for 2 soft drinks... After a while I felt more and more ripped off.

We wanted to eat something here. Sat down without first looking at the menu. We were immediately asked what we wanted to drink. So ordered cappuccino. Then looked at the map. We were very shocked by that. What a price they dare to ask here E.g. ham cheese bouncer 12.50. Healthy sandwich 10 euros. Cappuccino 3.75. So I drank it and left again. I am willing to pay, but in the normal way.

Really very mediocre sandwich with cheap ham and little cheese on a bare plate (€5) and a coke without ice (€3:50)... Never again.... Oh yes... my wife had a blubbery cappuccino from a fully automatic machine and watery apple pie slice with cheap whipped cream... almost €19 in total We still had our mouths full from the last bite of grilled cheese when the plates were already taken away.... NEVER AGAIN!!!

Nice to sit out there on the terrace, good coffee. De Echte Douwe Egberts. Bitterballen were good and a nice mustard. However the Caesar salad was terrible, the chicken was processed sliced chicken instead of nice fresh pieces. No anchovies and no parmesan cheese, no croutons and dressing was flat and lacking flavour. Needs a lot of improvement, could not sell this at cafe at home! Other food was ok.

Bad food. Ordered a wrap with smoked chicken and it was very small, cut into diagonal stripes to make it look something. I missed the chicken and called someone in and they said it was covered in bacon. That was 1 piece of factory chicken fillet. I was supposed to choose something else, but I declined because the rest did not meet expectations. And this for 10.50 euros. They will never see me again

Had lunch here last weekend. I looked with amazement at what was on the table. A wrap with chicken, pesto and mozzarella for no less than €9.50. This was truly a mockery. Factory chicken fillet in it (meats) almost no lettuce and mozzarella. This was reported to the company manager, but unfortunately nothing was done about it. The prices for a cappuccino, no less than 3.75, are also shocking. They won't see us here again. Apparently we are not the only ones with this experience. I have read many reviews recently with the same experience. I would say management do something about this.

Traditional pastries from the bakery as mentioned on the menu turned out to be watery apple pie from the freezer. €5.50 per pastry at checkout. Quite pricey for watery triple-frozen pastries.

Had two cappuccinos at Le Provence on June 1, 22. The taste was okay, but not very special, the foam layer was not creamy enough due to too many large air bubbles. Service was good. This mediocre performance cost us no less than €7.50. A look at the menu had already made us decide not to "invest" further in a lunch, etc. In fact, we have decided to reduce our catering visits from approximately 5 times a week to Max. 1 x p/w.

Here you can simply sit outside, enjoy coffee and cake or eat a delicious snack. In the middle of the small city center in Sneek where there is always something going on and you can sit and watch. The staff is really very friendly and mostly understands German.

Had a cup of coffee and two apple pies with my wife on Saturday afternoon, May 28, there was nothing to complain about, but it was far too expensive. Cappuccino 3.75, coffee 3 and pastries 5.50 each: total €17.75 That is disproportionate and absolutely far too expensive. This is the first and last time!

The provence wrap was fine and so was the smoothie, but the general prices per drink were not. The service was also very slow in clearing tables and asking if anyone wanted something to drink. Wrap with chicken pesto very small quantity for that price. Too bad, because it used to be a very nice place to have lunch.

Beer has become very expensive lately. Since the end of corona, no less than 0.75 has been added. A small beer (0.25 CL) now costs no less than 3.50 Not fun anymore.

Nice location in Sneek for lunch or just a cup of coffee. Service is attentive and customer-friendly. When the weather is nice, it's great to take a seat outside.
