Very friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Cozy atmosphere and delicious food.

A few weeks ago, I went to Lekker Puh in Schoorl with friends, and it was so good that I went back in August 2025 – this time with the whole family. There were six of us, including four teenagers. Because we hadn't made a reservation, we couldn't sit inside (tip: do it, because it's always busy and lively here). Luckily, we were able to sit outside on the terrace, which wasn't a problem, as the weather was wonderful and the outdoor terrace has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The food was excellent once again. The dishes not only look beautiful but also taste as if the kitchen really cares about the food. The meat was perfectly cooked: tender on the inside and accompanied by a rich jus. The salmon was deliciously crispy on the outside and buttery soft on the inside, with a fresh touch of lemon and capers. You can taste that they work with high-quality ingredients and give classic flavors a refined twist. The service was friendly and efficient, despite the crowd. I also appreciate the nice variety on the menu, from traditional Dutch mustard soup to dishes with eel or shrimp—all typical West Frisian flavors with a modern twist. Parking is easy nearby, and the location is ideal for combining with a walk through the beautiful Schoorl dunes. My personal tip: book in advance and definitely try a tasting menu if you can't decide. This way, you get a bit of everything, and believe me, you'll want to try more than one dish here.

Very good selection of wine and nice atmosphere. However, the place is not really child friendly (no high chair offered) and the staff was not service orientated. All in all, it is highly overrated on Google due to the quality of the food (mostly convenience) and service.

We've always had delicious meals here. The Lekker Puh is a real highlight. The service is also very friendly and attentive. We're already looking forward to our next visit. The menu offers many options, and everything so far has been very good.

We just dropped by after a day at the beach nearby. It was busy and pleasantly full. We had to wait a bit for a table, which was perfectly fine. We received a very warm welcome. We sat outside on the terrace, and the staff were all very friendly throughout the evening. The food was generous and delicious. The spareribs fell off the bone—what a treat! We found the atmosphere very relaxed. All in all, a fantastic evening, and we will definitely be back.

It's been a long time since I've had such a delicious meal. Great location!

The service and ambiance are top-notch. The food, unfortunately, leaves something to be desired for the price. For five dishes, including salad and side dishes, each comes in a single "sharing" container, which is very small. The spare rib rub contains far too much cinnamon, which detracts from the dish's wonderful BBQ flavor. The restaurant still has a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the food, but everything else is just perfect!

Delicious food, but when we requested a slightly larger entree, steak tartare (€14.50), it suddenly cost €27.50 to make it a main course. On previous visits, it was €18.50. The management was adamant and juggled weights. "You were lucky last time," they said. A very rude response. We only asked for a slightly larger entree. The matter wasn't resolved pleasantly. We paid the amount we requested. This is a shame. We'll be on our guard from now on. Be careful!

Ja was geweldig , alleen mijn bestelling ging verkeerd en ik kreeg 10 min later mijn klafs entrecote , was erg rauw , op een gegeven moment ging mijn entrecote weer terug om hem medium te krijgen . Weer niet medium en hem hem verdeeld onder de kinderen . Desert gedaan , alleen ik niet en vroeg met afrekenen na fooi gooi ook de Hertog Vegan Vanille op de kaart . Voor iemand die geen lactose mag hebben en gluten , geweldig ijs . Hoop met z’on restaurant dat ze dit oppakken . Ik heb nu laat thuis gegeten , maar het blijft een goed en leuk restaurant .

Nice restaurant with a varied menu. I had the meat quartet with delicious side dishes. There was also a good wine list. Unfortunately, I'm not a Heineken fan, but that's probably my problem. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Extensive menu at reasonable prices. The restaurant was very busy for a Thursday. Nevertheless, the service was attentive and friendly. My wife and I enjoyed the food immensely. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation.

We were sitting on the terrace at 16.05 and there was still 1 tile (2) occupied who were drinking something. At 16.23 the waitress came and we said we wanted to eat something. Between 15 and 17 you can't order food only for drinks she said. From last time I remembered the drinks platter 2.0 but that was not allowed because the chef has a break at 16.30... I don't get it it's super quiet because there is a diversion so the chef doesn't have enough with a 2 hour break?

Disappointing experience at Lekker Puh We had made a reservation at the beginning of this week at 7:30 PM, but upon arrival there appeared to be no table available. One of the employees made us wait in the doorway, after which another colleague kindly asked us to take a seat outside for a drink. She would pick us up as soon as she had cleared a table. Unfortunately that didn't happen. At 7:50 PM we still didn't have a drink and no one had come to escort us inside. Only after making inquiries ourselves did we get a table around 8:00 PM and finally our first drink. All in all we had to wait more than half an hour without clear communication. We understand that it can be busy, but we thought this was really out of proportion. You look forward to a pleasant evening with good service, and unfortunately that was not the case here. Instead, frustration prevailed. We had high expectations after positive stories about Lekker Puh, but unfortunately it turned out to be the opposite for us. Unfortunately the last time for us.

Enjoyed sitting outside here with the family. They found a nice spot for us where the stroller could also be parked. Wide choice of dishes and well prepared. They have a lot of choice, especially for meat lovers. Only had a main course, but was still full. Had the Fingerfood Supreme myself. Service was very friendly and helpful and we didn't have to wait long.

Nach einer gemütlichen Wanderung durch die bewaldete Dünenlandschaft von Schoorl („Schoorlse Duinen“) stellte sich die Frage nach einem geeigneten Lokal für den noch frühen Abend. Bei meiner Recherche im Netz stieß ich auf das im rund 1700 Einwohner zählenden Dörfchen Groet beheimatete Restaurant mit dem ungewöhnlichen Namen „Lekker Puh“, der sich mit „Pech gehabt!“ übersetzen lässt und dadurch den ahnungslosen Touristen auf augenzwinkernde Weise in die Irre führt. Wer sich vom ironischen Humor der Namensgeber (und Inhaber) Wendy Jonker und Ernie Minkema nicht abschrecken lässt, wird in dem seit 1997 direkt am Groeter Heereweg (Hauptstraße) ansässigen Lokal sicherlich seine Freude haben. Bei den im weltoffenen Bistrostil auf die Teller gebrachten Gerichten kommen qualitativ hochwertige Zutaten – gerne auch aus der näheren Umgebung – zum Einsatz. Das Preis-Genuss-Verhältnis stimmt und der von vorwiegend jungen Leuten geleistete Service hat selbst bei hohem Andrang alles gut im Griff. Davon konnten wir uns selbst überzeugen, denn an jenem warmen Donnerstagabend Anfang August war auf der hübsch begrünten Außenterrasse jede Menge los. Wir durften uns glücklich schätzen, dass wir so früh dort aufschlugen und dadurch noch einen der wenigen freien Tische ergattern konnten. Eine Viertelstunde später wären wir wahrscheinlich leer ausgegangen – wie so viele andere, die man leider abweisen musste. Wieder so eine glückliche Fügung und so ziemlich das Gegenteil von „Pech gehabt“. Gut beschirmt und grün umrankt, saß es sich auf dem belebten Freisitz recht komfortabel. Eine Flasche San Pellegrino Mineralwasser (6,50 Euro) und ein Glas Milch (2,50 Euro) für das Töchterchen waren schnell geliefert. Dann widmeten wir uns der ausgehändigten Speiseliteratur, die uns zugegebenermaßen vor arge Entscheidungsnöte stellte. Beim Vorspeisenprogramm reihte sich ein regionaler Bistroklassiker an den anderen. Die altholländische Senfsuppe fehlte da genauso wenig wie der geräucherte Aal aus dem nicht weit entfernten Langedijk. Auch bei den Hauptgerichten war die Auswahl beachtlich. Da bediente man sich ungeniert aus dem reichen Produktfundus aus Wald, Wiese, Stall und dem nahen Meer. Pfeffersteak, Kalbsmedaillon, Lammkoteletts, Rib-Eye-Steak und Tournedos versprachen eingefleischtes Karnivorenglück. Lachs, Jakobsmuscheln, Garnelen und Co. nährten die Hoffnung auf Meer. Holländische Kroketjes, Frikandel und Hühnchennuggets ließen indes Kinderherzen höherschlagen. Da entschied sich unsere Kleine doch glatt für den nach dem bekannten flämisch-niederländischen Abzählreim „Olleke Bolleke“ benannten Kinderteller in der „Frikandel-Version“ (9,50 Euro). Auch wir waren gespannt auf die längliche Hackfleischrolle aus Holland, da wir sie noch nie zuvor bestellt hatten. Vorweg gönnte ich mir einen Teller mit frischen Nordseekrabben, die hier als „Hollandse Garnaaltjes“ (14,50 Euro) auf der Karte standen und zusammen mit geröstetem Baguette, einem kleinen Salatbouquet und einer ganz formidablen Whisky-Cocktailsauce die zeitgemäße Keramik zierten. Das süßlich-nussig schmeckende, sehr saftige Krabbenfleisch beeindruckte mit Frische und Produktqualität. Aber auch die Portionsgröße konnte sich durchaus sehen lassen. Zusammen mit etwas Zitrone und der angenehm herben Cocktailsauce genossen, war das eine regionale Vorspeise nach Maß, zu der ich mir spontan ein Gläschen Chardonnay (5,50 Euro) kommen ließ. Die kleinen rosafarbenen Nordseebewohner stimmten mich adäquat auf den bald folgenden Hauptgang – zwei in Butter gebratene Schollenfilets (19,50 Euro) – ein. Auf die Idee, den beliebten Plattfisch zu ordern, war ich bereits im Vorfeld nach Ansicht der im Netz kursierenden, appetitanregenden Fotos gekommen. Und es war wahrlich keine schlechte Idee, wie sich bald herausstellen sollte. Die beiden stattlichen, perfekt durch die Pfanne geschleusten Bratfischfilets aus der Nordsee fielen dank vorausgegangenem Mehlieren außen wunderbar knusprig und innen noch schön saftig aus. Mit ein wenig Remouladensauce und ein paar Spritzern Zitrone war ihnen leicht beizukommen. Mit dem dazu gelieferten Beilagen-Potpourri tat ich mir dagegen deutlich schwerer. Nun sei an dieser Stelle erwähnt, dass im „Lekker Puh“ zu jedem Hauptgericht das gleiche, überaus großzügig bemessene Beilagen-Medley geboten wird. Dieses bestand an jenem Abend aus einem kleinen Salatteller, einer Portion Bratkartoffeln, perfekt frittierten Pommes mit Mayo, einem würzig angemachten Krautsalat und einem Schälchen mit gratiniertem Chicorée zum Teilen. Die vielen, handwerklich einwandfrei in die kleinen Schüsseln gefüllten „Zugaben“ sorgten für reichlich Abwechslung auf dem Tisch, waren aber auch von zwei hungrigen Personen nicht komplett zu bewältigen. Da auch meine Gattin mit ihrem pikant marinierten, asiatisch akzentuierten Schweinefilet auf grünen Bohnen und Sojasprossen (23,50 Euro) ordentlich was zu tun hatte und uns die auf Sättigung ausgelegten Aufmerksamkeiten in Anzahl und Menge doch ein wenig übertrieben erschienen, konzentrierten wir uns primär auf den Verzehr von Fleisch und Fisch. Was nicht heißt, dass uns die schmackhaften Sattmacher nicht mundeten. Ganz im Gegenteil, die Fritten spielten – wie man das in den Benelux-Ländern ja fast schon gewöhnt ist – in der ersten Knusper-Liga. Auch die gut gewürzten Bratkartoffeln gerieten tadellos und vertrugen sich ganz ausgezeichnet mit meinen Schollenfilets. Der gratinierte Chicorée war mir persönlich zu mächtig. Da wurde mit Sahne und Käse leider etwas zu dick aufgetragen. Der mit feiner Essig-Öl-Vinaigrette angemachte Blattsalat punktete dagegen mit sommerlicher Frische. Puh, war das alles lecker! Und auch ziemlich sättigend, weshalb wir dankend auf einen Nachtisch verzichteten. Die rund 80 Euro empfanden wir für das Gebotene als absolut angemessen. Der gut aufgelegte Service trug mit zur guten Stimmung auf der bis auf den letzten Platz gefüllten Außenterrasse bei. Etwas idyllischer hätte es unserer Meinung nach schon zugehen dürfen, aber das war bei dem hohen Gästeaufkommen einfach nicht möglich. Unser Töchterlein griff nach dem Essen im gegenüberliegenden „Saluto Ijssalon“ noch ihre obligatorische Kugel ab, obwohl vorher beim Frikandel mit Kartoffelpüree, Pommes und Apfelmus Mama und Papa etwas nachhelfen mussten. Sei es drum. Beim nächsten Urlaub in Nord-Holland würden wir im Örtchen Groet glatt wieder halt machen. Mit dem „Lekker Puh“ und dem am Ortsrand Richtung Camperduin befindlichen „De Bokkesprong“ gibt es hier gleich zwei bemerkenswerte Einkehradressen, die mit überdurchschnittlichen Küchenleistungen ihre Gäste verwöhnen. Außerdem ist es zum kinderfreundlichen Strand nach Camperduin oder zur großen Kletterdüne („Het Climduin“) nach Schoorl nur ein Katzensprung. Für Familien mit Kindern also ein geradezu idealer Ausgangspunkt. Tot ziens, Groet!

Lekker puh is een gezellig restaurant met vriendelijk personeel. Op zich ook lekker gegeten. Een schotel met fingerfood besteld. Alleen de garnalen op de schotel hadden een “papperige kop” en vond ik niet zo lekker. Misschien gewoon een verkeerde keuze gemaakt. Ik zou zeker een keer terug gaan maar dan wat anders bestellen.

I can't understand some of the negative reviews here...neither of us can remember the last time we ate something so delicious! Every dish and side dish was simply incredibly delicious!! Greatly seasoned, sophisticated side dishes, simply delicious and an absolute culinary delight...the crème brulee at the end was incredible!! 🥰 Meal with drinks (1x 2 and 1 x 3 courses!) for 2 people for under 100€, for this quality, especially the meat, simply unbeatable cheap! Fillet (4 different types!), New Zealand rack of lamb... all the finest! We reserved a table again for tomorrow because it was just so delicious! ☝️😊 Be sure to eat there, you will love it!!!

Lekker puh is really our ultimate favorite restaurant. The service is always great and the food is truly excellent. The prices are slightly higher than average (for what we are used to) but it is absolutely worth it. Make sure to make a reservation because otherwise there really won't be a spot, it's always full! Nice walking in the area.

We thought it was very busy for a Thursday evening in January, maybe that says something. A very large choice on the menu, everything we chose was delicious and the service was nice and very attentive. In the distant past, Minkema on the beach was a household name, but this Minkema (grandson?) can also do something of it. What is good does not have to be expensive and that is evident. We enjoyed it and if we are in the area again we will definitely stop by.

In januari ben ik met twee relaties wezen eten bij Lekker puh en dat was meer dan prima. Het restaurant was goed bezocht, het eten was lekker en er hing een fijn, relaxte sfeer. De bediening was aardig en attent. Zeker een restaurant wat ik onthoud voor als ik weer eens in die de buurt ben.

Another great success at Christmas this year. Fine a la carte food. I'm already looking forward to the next time at lekker puh. Normally I don't eat dessert, but here I really can't resist.

The entry was bad. We had made a reservation with a specific wish for the heater at the window. That would be done and we were in the second shift. Personally, I think restaurants where they work with shifts are not done, but okay, my mother's wish to eat here for her birthday. There was actually only 1 table available and it was within walking distance of the door. When indicating how the reservation had been made, the response from a somewhat snooty young man from behind the bar was that such agreements do not have to be kept. Huh? It was cold even though it was full and no one bothered to help us. We were a bit unsure about what to do next, stay or leave. We asked ourselves what now, will people be leaving soon? You should know that it is a long drive and we were quite hungry at 7:30 PM. We were put down on a sagging couch and were asked if we wanted something to drink. We kept our coats on because of the cold. Half an hour later we were offered a table by the window. Stone cold because the stove was said to have not been on for a while, it is centrally controlled. The tables are low and it is not possible to get your legs under them normally because there is an edge that makes movement impossible. The food was good, not very much. 5 desserts were sold out. The chocolate sauce for the Dame Blanche is said to be home-made. That wasn't it, just bottled tofu and warmed up in the ping. All in all, unfortunately not worth repeating.

It's been a long time since we were here, but how good this is! The three of us arrived for lunch (of which 2 ate), we were immediately welcomed and given a nice spot in the restaurant. Ordered tuna sandwich and club sandwich. I had the club sandwich and it is highly recommended, delicious and more than enough to serve as lunch. But what makes it all so good? Well, the neatly dressed team is alert, runs well, communicates well and exudes fun and professionalism. From the dishwasher to the young lady who pours the drinks, from the waitress to the manager, it runs like a close-knit team. The relaxed atmosphere with a variety of people who feel at home here also makes it a very pleasant place for a lunch stop at affordable prices. I now understand why they asked if we had made a reservation...

Zeer klantonvriendelijkheid behandeling gehad waarbij we tot tweemaal toe, nadat we geïnstalleerd waren, van tafel moesten wisselen omdat die gereserveerd zou zijn ( geen bordje met “gereserveerd” op de tafel ) en omdat we niet met 4 personen aan een vijfpersoons tafel mochten zitten. Toen zijn we weggegaan, geen excuses van de eigenaar.

Arrived with the dog on a Saturday afternoon. A quiet spot in the 'boet'. Had a delicious omelette. Add a cappuccino and a buttermilk. No bowl of water for the dog inside. They are outside.

The six of us ate here on the occasion of my son's 19th birthday. We got a cozy oval table and sat in lovely chairs! Friendly but also professional service, tasty beers on tap, and most importantly: delicious food! The menu is very extensive and the prices are not too high. As a bonus, our 'little' boy (almost 2 meters) received fireworks with dessert for his birthday 😂. It was a nice evening out, we would love to come back!
