Leonardo's Pizzeria in Wijk 09 Scharendijke

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Delicious pizza – but definitely only takeaway We drove all the way to Scharendijke to try Leonardo's Pizza. Finding a parking spot was a bit tricky at first, as there are no dedicated parking spaces directly at the restaurant, and many of the surrounding areas are clearly marked or reserved. Depending on where you find a spot, you might have to walk a short distance. The restaurant itself is located on a narrow street with several other restaurants. Something that wasn't entirely clear to us from the Google search results: Leonardo's is strictly takeaway. The restaurant only has two large tables with high bar stools, each seating about three people while they wait. It's not intended for eating in. We received very friendly service and only had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our order. We paid around €58 for three pizzas and three Cokes, which puts us in the mid-range to slightly higher price bracket for takeaway. We ordered a Parma, a Diavolo, and a Salami pizza. The pizzas were a good size – about 30 cm – and looked really good. We were also very happy with the taste, and everyone enjoyed their pizza. 👍🍕 Personally, I found my Parma a bit too oily/faty, and the Parmesan cheese was especially generous. It wasn't just a little grated on; the pizza was really covered. A bit too much for my taste – but that's a matter of personal preference, of course. On the plus side: The pizzas were already sliced. Unfortunately, we couldn't see that clearly at the restaurant; otherwise, we probably would have eaten them right there at the harbor instead of taking them back to the campsite. 😅 In conclusion: Very tasty, large, and visually appealing pizzas, friendly service, and a reasonable wait time. I would rate the value for money as average. If you know it's only a takeaway place and are prepared to look for parking, you can definitely get a good pizza here. We would come back. 🍕😊

We've never eaten such a bad pizza. The cheese was unidentifiable, it was incredibly greasy, and tasteless. We certainly won't be getting pizza from here again.

What's going on here? We've been very, very happy with this pizza for 15 years, best pizza ever 😉....since April it's only been takeaway, OK, I can live with that since we eat at the campsite anyway. 😁 For 15 years we've always had Pizza Gamba, very, very delicious, crispy prawns, mushrooms, onions, and the pizza is simply heavenly. Today, for the first time since it became takeaway, we got a pizza full of anticipation, but what awaited us at the campsite shocked us 😬. The best part was unfortunately the crust, the base was so thin you could see through it, and the topping?....you could recognize the prawns and tomatoes, but the rest was an undefinable, runny mess that tasted so awful that we couldn't eat the pizza for the first time in 15 years. What is going on? OK, stress, less work, all understandable,....But why are the recipes being changed so drastically? I'm really sorry, but the pizza was inedible. 😭

We looked for a place to pick up good pizzas from the campsite. This is highly recommended! Real, authentic Italian pizzas.

The pizza tastes incredibly delicious, the crust is paper-thin. The selection is limited, but that's precisely what makes the quality so good.

The pizza was ready within 15 minutes of ordering, and the server at the counter was very friendly. Now, about the pizzas themselves: The dough was quite decent. The best part was definitely the garlic sauce. The pizzas are normal-sized, even though they're advertised as large, and very sparsely topped, as you can see in the picture. The cheese is unidentifiable and more like processed cheese. Overall, the price-performance ratio is unfortunately terrible, and we won't be ordering from here again.

I'll eat somewhere else! The typical bruschetta was good, as was the Italian beer. Then three pizzas and a spaghetti frutti di mare. I'd go there again for beer and bruschetta.

The pizza Margherita was fine, but unfortunately, both the lasagna bolognese and the penne arrabiata still had a bit of flavor. Watery, even.

In the Netherlands, it's difficult to find a restaurant as good as one in Germany. We assumed we'd find a proper Italian pizzeria, but in the end, it was more typically Dutch. We sat outside, and the atmosphere was like an ice cream parlor. However, it looked very cozy inside. The food was okay, but the price and portions weren't up to scratch, in our opinion.

Last Friday we went to eat at the pizzeria. Pizzas were delicious. Cozy place for 2 people. Service is friendly. Nice that you can look into the kitchen. We will definitely come back.

Had a great meal at Leonardo's tonight. Called shortly beforehand to see if they still had a table. And luckily there was still room! When we entered we were glad we had called because it was packed. Smooth and friendly service that came by quickly. Our bread board was there within a few minutes. The main course was also there very quickly. Until the waitress discovered before us that she had served us the wrong order. Oops! It happens. The waitress apologized and offered us something to drink on the house. Very attentive :) shortly after that we received our main courses. And they tasted delicious!! In short, a delicious meal and great staff, we will definitely come back again when we are in the area.

I stumbled upon it by chance, made a reservation, and cycled there. And what can I say?! It was worth it!! Quaint little restaurant with a terrace in front and behind the house. Inside, there's a gas oven. The service staff was very friendly and accommodating. All the dishes were delicious, and the price/performance ratio was right! Here are the pictures. And we'll be back!!! Everything you see, including tip, came to €90.

Simply the best pizzas in the region. Unfortunately, the young server has become a bit unfriendly. We've been coming to this restaurant so often and tip generously. Today we experienced the following. Leonardo ordered a salad without artichokes, but more feta cheese, please. Pizza, as always, Borromea with salami, tuna, and garlic. The pizza came, but with capers. I complained, and he claimed I had ordered them. There were three of us, and everyone heard what I ordered. Instead of capers, I ordered garlic. After a brief discussion, I got the correct pizza with an extra portion of garlic. So not the usual. Then, on the bill, he asked for an extra €2.50 to swap the salad accessories. He even laughed as we left. I find that dubious. Well, that's it for now. We can spend our money elsewhere. We actually come here every other or third day. We're taking a break this year. We can pay for the 30 visits somewhere else where the staff are friendlier.

I haven't found a better pizza in the Netherlands yet. Top quality

We wanted to eat delicious pizza and found “Leonardos” on the Internet. A restaurant with Italian cuisine. All users rated it pretty good, so we took a chance. There was original (delicious) Italian beer, we ordered a Tonno pizza with onions and my wife ordered a vegetarian pizza. Price 17 or just under 15 €. The pizzas were worth the money! Thin but with a nice edge, well topped, crispy and really delicious. The service (also) spoke German and was very nice and quick. All in all, a worthwhile visit. We reserved a table for two days to celebrate my wife's birthday with a good meal.

Unfortunately probably the worst pizzas I've ever had. Maybe the pastas are good and that explains their high rating. But you don't want to go here for pizza. I ordered a large Salami and Mafiosa which turned out small. Too thin, too dry, too small. Really not worth the €27.

We came here spontaneously after visiting a museum because we were almost desperate for an Italian restaurant. Luckily there was still a table available right after it opened, but it would have been a problem a little later (and it was a Wednesday!). After we ate, we could clearly understand the high demand. Homemade pasta dough (we had lasagne bolognese and ravioli zucca), all fresh and absolutely delicious. Service was quick, super friendly and very attentive! Dessert also 5 stars. It wasn't the last time we were here...but the next meal requires a reservation 😊

Friday evening, 4 people in the restaurant. Out of season (end of March) No problem finding a place with a dog. The service arrives promptly, we can agree on English as the language and I order my drink first. Little facial expressions, friendliness or small talk... but always quick to do so. When the drink is empty, questions are asked immediately. Food was OK to good. I would eat there again.

An Italian like you want. A lovely atmosphere, cozy chic and just the right size. We were able to make a reservation at 6 p.m. for 6:30 p.m. There were still 2 tables free. So you have to think about whether you run the risk of not getting a place. At least we were there outside of the session. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The pizzas were very tasty. Thin base and very crunchy and delicious. We ordered the smaller size, which was more than enough for us to also eat the great dessert. Absolute recommendation!

Hello, now again in August 2024 at Grevelinger Meer. Yesterday the three of us had a delicious meal at Leonardo's. Reservation is very easy online. Got a very nice table in the garden. I had pizza Tonno-Cipolla with olives. Very tasty, the dough was perfect and well topped. I would particularly like to emphasize that both the lady and the male waitress are extremely friendly and personable. (That's no longer a given in the catering industry) I'd love to come back as a guest. PS only small negative point - unfortunately the prices for 1 glass of beer are also very high in Leonardos (as in all of Zeeland). I don't understand this strategy. At 5 euros for a 0.5 beer I would also drink 2 beers. I think the restaurateur would have earned more on balance. (Let's think about it...) Best regards Frank Koop

It looks cozy.. Arrived 21.15hr and kitchen was closed. Friendly staff explained that they close kitchen early if they are not busy. We travelled by bike for 2.5 km with two hungry kids and were unhappy but lucky to find an alternative in the neighborhood.

Good food, but nothing special. Pizza bases certainly not made by hand and no crispy blister to be found. Seafood pasta with parmesan on top is definitely not Italian. Nice service and convenient location.

We went to Leonardos spontaneously and without a reservation. We were warmly welcomed with our dogs and were able to choose a table. Our drinks order was taken quickly and delivered quickly. Our main courses arrived quickly and hot and tasted really great. When we asked, we also got a chili oil, which was very tasty. I can only recommend it to everyone! At the end there was a dessert, here I ate the tiramisu, here I personally missed the amaretto, but this of course also makes it suitable for children. The three of us had wine (for two), beer and water, two starters, three main courses, three desserts and paid around €140. Which is definitely ok for Holland. Without starters/desserts and just water we would certainly have stayed under €100. We're used to different things in the area. We were very satisfied and will come again.

On Easter Saturday we quickly reserved a table for Easter Sunday (8 people). This went smoothly via Google Maps and confirmation came via email just a short time later. The staff was very accommodating and the food was delicious. For me, the pizza could have been seasoned a little more strongly. The mixed salad was very varied and the dressing was really good. :)

Wir waren in unserer Urlaubswoche zweimal dort essen. Karte ist sehr schön. Ambiente total stimmig, hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Erster Abend jeder von uns Pizza gegessen sehr, sehr lecker und zum Abschluss einen wirklich guten Espresso getrunken. Zweiter Abend ital. Tapasplatte - etwas enttäuscht Oliven, zwei Scheiben Brot geröstet, etwas Käse und viel zu viel Salami und Schinken - da hätte man mehr draus machen können. Pizza wieder sehr gut, Ravioli hmmm viel zu viel ( essen wir zu Hause zu zweit) und ich behaupte mal bekomme ich zu Hause besser hin. Für Pizza zu 💯 zu empfehlen. Bedienung beide Male sehr nett.

Très bel endroit! Très propre. Les pizzas sont bonnes, la pâte est bien cuite, croustillante. Rien à dire sur le service. Les plats enfants sont consistant. Petit coup de cœur sur les raviolis aux truffes. Faites maison et bien servi.

We were a bit early (5 o'clock) but we had a delicious meal. Unfortunately, the press machine for the fresh juice was defective and one of us received the wrong dish, but that was quickly resolved. It wasn't busy for a Saturday night.

If you want to have a pleasant evening, it is better to stay away from customer friendliness, they have not heard of it here yet. First received very bluntly, then had to wait 25 minutes for a card and then another 10 minutes to ask for something to drink. Starter was fine, but main course was like getting a frozen pizza from the supermarket and they are even tastier. For quality, it is very expensive, I say go eat somewhere with friendly staff

In the eighties, Iglo had a pizza commercial... "with the cardboard bottom".. And that immediately sums up the whole experience. Catering wholesale pizza bases with a dollop of tomato paste and tasteless topping in an eighties setting. Crammed somewhere between the garden doors and a dirty planter, you immediately imagine yourself in a condemned former Center Parcs swimming pool as the branches of the plant hang wonderfully in your drink and pizza. Now that's not a disaster, because with the service pace of this store you have to do your very best to be able to have a drink before the evening is over. The lasagna was nothing more than a warmed-up can of Pedigree with tomato paste and old cheese. If you throw a pack of Aldi lasagna in the oven dish, you will score even higher, even though it is also completely unpalatable. Perhaps the ideal basis for a night out, waking up without a hangover, because vomiting everything is guaranteed. Perhaps we are a bit spoiled because we are used to Nopolitana quality, but this experience left little room for a predominantly positive review. The place is nice and has potential, but due to the high level of tourism it is probably dulled and there is no longer a soul for good food and hospitality. In any case, there is no risk of recurrence for us.

Ordered a takeaway, 2 pizzas from the standard menu. We waited 45 minutes for the food. No word from the servers that it would be this long and no apology. The place wasn’t overly busy so it was disappointing. Food itself was lovely if not slightly cold. If you’re prepared to wait for your takeaway it’s a nice place.
