It was cozy, but very warm inside, but you have to speak clearly or the staff won't understand what you mean. I had to repeat three times for a latte.

What a lovely and cozy restaurant, and it's also quite romantic to sit right by the water. The lunch was delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. It's also a great place for a snack or drink after visiting Hoenderdael Zoo.

Professional and friendly welcome, good quality dishes, local products, fair prices. The highlight is drinking coffee at the back of the restaurant with a stunning view!!! It feels like being on a boat!

We had a delicious meal. Thai-style fish cakes as a starter. Then we had sea bass with prawns. It took a while, but it was definitely worth it. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was very friendly.

The restaurant right in front of the zoo was very nice. It has a large children's playground, which the kids loved. The food and service were excellent.

Food was bad, the steak tasted like liver. Also 1 bowl of raw vegetables for 4 people is very little, after reporting we got 1 more. The fries were fried very hard, or thrown back more often because of that dry, again applies 1 mini mayonnaise container for 4 people. Price quality ratio is bad. Also there was 1 vegan with us, who could choose from 1 starter and 1 main course and there was no dessert possible.

Stew of deer red cabbage was no longer there, deer was replaced by beef, that was told, but there was no red cabbage to limit, only carrot puree. But all in all it was very tasty

Exceptionally good food, and beautifully presented! We had a tiered starter stand for two. They even took into account the fact that I'm vegetarian and my husband isn't. The service staff was also super friendly and attentive! It's definitely worth a visit! We'd love to come back 😊❗️

Beautiful restaurant in a fantastic location on the water. There is a playground adjacent to the restaurant if you want to have something to eat with children who get bored quickly and can enjoy themselves here. Service is extremely suitable and friendly. When we get to the point, the food is generally fine, but there are still some areas for improvement in my opinion. Let's start with the fact that the quality is excellent, but.... the dishes on the menu contain ingredients that are not described in the description, so you can order something that contains something you do not like. Let's end this review with the fact that it is a great restaurant and despite the room for improvement, we and our group had a great time.

We spontaneously decided to have a bite to eat. When we asked a waitress if we could sit somewhere, she said we could sit outside. We did that, but then it took a very long time before anyone came to us. We were visibly waiting, even making eye contact with the staff, but nothing happened. After a while we asked three different waitresses if we could get a menu. They would all do this 'right away', but only the third lady put in the work. When we were finally ready to order, we were again completely ignored. I made eye contact again and waved, and she had clearly seen me. Yet no one came to us. In fact, she simply walked to another table to take an order. We left after this. Very unfortunate, because we were hungry and were looking forward to something tasty. It was busy, but there were enough staff around to help us. Sitting for 45 minutes and not even being able to place an order is of course not the intention.

Shit restaurant it takes 3 hours to get your food

After a day at Hoenderaal we were looking for a place for dinner at 9pm, because we had our 2 year old with us, we asked in advance whether we would have to wait a long time or whether food could come quickly... no problem, they would arrange it! We ordered drinks and were asked if we wanted a sandwich... we thought it was a good idea because our 2-year-old was hungry, we immediately ordered food and told them that we were in a hurry (2nd time). Drinks were brought straight away. Nothing was said about the consequences of ordering a sandwich... then we had to wait 65 minutes for our food to arrive... We asked the waiter 3 times how long it would take because otherwise we wanted to cancel it due to the fatigue of our 2-year-old child. The 3rd time I received an answer that it took so long because we already knew we had a sandwich. we said in advance that we had never taken bread… We ordered pasta for our 2 year old and we ordered steak from Wieringen cow, we wanted it medium rare... these were well done... according to the service, it was due to the type of meat, again we didn't hear anything about this while ordering... meat was not only well done, but also super dry that an adult almost choked on it... We didn't get any cutlery for the pasta for the 2 year old, how was she supposed to eat this with her hands? All in all a bad experience for us and we will definitely not come back here!

This restaurant is located next to the Dierenpark Hoenderdaell in Anna Paulowna. (It is reported that this forest zoo will specially shelter animals rescued from circuses.) The front yard of the restaurant is very spacious and has a great view. When the weather is good in summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the food while admiring the surrounding scenery. If you have children at home, you should sit outside because the restaurant has a small children's playground right in the front yard of the restaurant. The furnishings in the restaurant are not gorgeous but very warm. If you sit at the table near the window, you can see the gurgling water and the vibrant swans or wild ducks floating leisurely on the water. Next, let’s talk about the food. My husband ordered the XL large burger. The ingredients were very solid, but he couldn’t finish it. I ordered the regional steak. When the meal was served, because the steak looked ordinary and not big, I didn’t have high expectations for my steak. But after I took the first bite, wow! It was unexpectedly delicious and had the feeling of melting in the mouth. It really surprised me. We also ordered a piece of sweet potato sticks, which were also delicious. However, after finishing the main meal, we could no longer eat the sweet potato sticks, so after careful calculation, we asked the staff to pack it up for us to take away😜. In short, if you have friends who have visited or passed by the forest zoo and are hungry, you can give it a try.

Food was not of high quality, a lot of it came from packets, which I don't expect when I eat at a restaurant. Portions did not match the course (very large starter). When we asked if there was carbon dioxide in a drink they said no, but it turned out that there was, after reporting they said 'oh'. Nice place with a nice view. Price quite high for the quality.

At LEUK! We had a fantastic culinary experience at the Veer. We opted for the tasting, and each dish surprised us with refined flavors and beautiful presentation. The menu offered a delicious variety, and the portions were just right to fully enjoy each course. The chicken thigh fillet satay was highly recommended. The taste was excellent, tender and perfectly grilled. The accompanying peanut sauce was rich and full of flavor, and paired wonderfully with the satay. You could tell that a lot of attention had been paid to the preparation, which made the dining experience even better. The evening ended with a delicious cheese board, where we received a clear explanation about the different cheeses from a very friendly waitress. Her enthusiasm and knowledge completed the experience. It was the perfect end to a very nice evening at LEUK!

Very beautiful surroundings, nice view over the water. It is very homely and warmly decorated, very nice. Staff was friendly and also asked if everything was okay. All the dishes we ate there were really delicious! Really well looked after. Toilet was very clean and spacious.

We often go there, but unfortunately the last experience was really bad in terms of service. Made a reservation and upon arrival there was a party going on outside, which was fine, but the result was too few staff. This filtered through to the staff who normally do their work neatly and professionally. Long wait, no menus given. The table was half cleared and after 15 minutes there was still a half empty table without a menu for dessert or coffee, so we left and then had to wait another 10 minutes to pay. Indicated about the service and she honestly admitted that it was too busy. Management cannot do anything about this, but arrange sufficient staff if you have reservations and a party at the same time. You won't see us here anymore for the time being.

The place itself is very nice. But the food is bland, the bitterballen had no meat AT ALL, the smoked salmon was 100% raw and they kept saying it was not raw (it seems they don't understand what raw means) and only changed for something else after I told I'm forbidden to eat raw food by the doctor. They brought our order wrong or missing things multiple times. Really bad experience.

Consciously reserved in advance, discuss which time was convenient so as not to have to wait too long due to small children. At the end, we first waited 30 minutes for the first drink and then waited an hour and a half for lunch. Then another family came and within 15 minutes they were having lunch with drinks and all... bit special. We thought it tasted good and the service was friendly, but not for us next time.

Ate here yesterday. Sat in a corner next to the cash register, absolutely no atmosphere. Took a very long time for the order to be taken. Then the main courses were served. While we hadn't even had the starter yet. So it's back again. We received a basket of bread. Only the 2 white rolls were tasty with the spread. The other rolls had so many grains and kernels that you couldn't taste the spread. After waiting a while for the main course, the waitress came with food, which was not ours. After waiting a while again, I asked if the main course was coming. They are preparing that now. Fifteen minutes later nothing, but now it would be in the pan. Finally delivered. To share a small salad and a small portion of fries, fried for too long. Half of which were rock hard and very bland. Main course portions also small for the price. The chicken thigh satay was well cooked but lacked flavor. Very disappointing restaurant. Wouldn't go here again.

We had dinner with 4 people at Leuk aan het veer in Anna Paulowna on June 29, 2024. We ordered the deienchicken satay as a main course. Unfortunately we received two small cones of fries with two very small containers of mayonnaise, which the four of us had to share. For desert we ordered strawberry romanoff. The three of us drank an Afligem white 0.0, and one 7up. Total price for 4 people €150.00. One thing is certain at this restaurant, people leave the table hungry, but their wallets are empty. The quality of the food is good, but for the amount you get for your money, the quantity is scandalously little!!!

We went to eat here after we were told that this was recommended. The service was very friendly. We had to wait almost 1 hour for the starter (a basket of bread and spreads). When we received it, the edge of the bread was dried out and therefore hard. Then I got food poisoning from the chicken thigh. I don't recommend this restaurant.
