Our friends took us during our trip to Amsterdam, the atmosphere, the food, the staff, everything was great.

I dont easily drop bad reviews but this place is merely disappointing. Bad food, bad service and expensive.

Prices are affordable and the taste of Turkish cuisine is definitely real Turkish taste in every way.

I've been here four times, and I think the menu was the same on my fourth visit. The appetizers are delicious, the food is good, but I noticed they haven't changed the menu, or at least some things are always on the same menu. I'd noticed before that there was no music at all. The other night, after 11:00, they started playing very little music. I generally like this place, but it really bothers me that they don't serve tea. Every time I ask for tea, they say they don't have any. This time, I didn't like the rice and the beğendi that came with the meat; it was very different; the rice tasted sour, like the eggplant. The service could definitely be better, I have to say that, especially during my last visit, I noticed some shortcomings. Of course, these are tolerable during a busy time, but a place like this would definitely benefit from better service.

The food was good, but we found it expensive. Three of us went. We had a few appetizers and melon, two hot starters, one main course, one dessert, and 70 cl of raki. We paid 94 euros per person, almost the price of a Michelin-starred restaurant. Because the raki table is long, for those of us who enjoy tea, I found the pricing absurd. Furthermore, when we asked for tea, they explained that they wouldn't brew it, and that the service was too difficult for us. I wasn't planning on going again, but we did try it.

We decided to satisfy our tavern craving with a group of expat friends who had migrated here from Türkiye, and the atmosphere, appetizers, and food were a welcome relief. The appetizer and meal prices were slightly higher than the Amsterdam average, but thankfully, they gave us a taste of Türkiye with a bottle of rakı priced at 128 euros.

The food is average. The appetizers (mezes) are quite mediocre. It's surprising that a Turkish restaurant doesn't serve spicy appetizers. The place is generally low quality (the glasses, tables, plates are cheap). They charge three times the price for the quality and taste they offer. In short, don't recommend this restaurant.

The food was good But as a woman alone I was treated differently not being offer first plate when a solo man came in after me he was treated to the full service. Customs are hard to change. It is a Turkish restaurant

Our family extends our sincere thanks to Levant Restaurant in Amsterdam. We went without a reservation for a celebratory dinner, but despite this, we were greeted with great hospitality and warmth. We would especially like to thank Mehmet Bey and Işıl Hanım for their attentiveness, kindness, and warm hospitality. The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was extremely prompt and attentive. The ambiance was also very pleasant. Levant is a true culinary destination in Amsterdam. Our family was very pleased, and we hope to see you again.

Overpriced, no parking, small space, and limited menu options. Unfortunately, a mouse ran over me during the meal. We arrived at 9:00 PM, and they immediately announced the kitchen was about to close. We were seated, and every 15 or 20 minutes, they kept telling us they were about to close. In short, we couldn't enjoy ourselves.

Very good dinner on the canal on a sheltered terrace, romantic atmosphere, very good service, excellent starters and meat dishes, the entrance is opposite the tram stop, I recommend.

We ate more delicious Turkish food than anywhere else in Türkiye. The service and canalside atmosphere were excellent.

Had dinner at Levant and loved it. Cozy vibe, great for sharing dishes. Everything we ordered was super tasty, and the service was really sweet. They also have one of the best terraces by the canal perfect spot to sit and enjoy.

The atmosphere, appetizers, hot entrees, and food were all excellent. If you make a reservation, make sure to order from the garden overlooking the canal. The black-eyed peas, purslane, and eggplant appetizers were as good as those in Turkey. The Cretan appetizer is worth criticizing.

We went there for dinner relatively spontaneously and felt very comfortable. A stunningly beautiful terrace right on the Kracht River. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The value for money was absolutely acceptable. We had a wonderful early evening as a family and felt very comfortable. Our small dog was also happily accepted. We can only recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.

The food is good, but unfortunately we didn't like the appetizers. The cretan paste, in particular, was blended and tasted like cream. The prices are also really high.

The Duck entree was fantastic, terrace with a canal view was delightful, staff was very friendly. A very good choice near the museums.

It's in a very nice atmosphere. It has a terrace where you can smoke and it overlooks the canals. The food is also very good. Everything on the menu is very good, but the only thing missing is that the menu is a bit weak. There are no grilled options, of course the tandoori kebab is good. I recommend it.

Unfortunately, the dishes did not justify the cost, leaving me feeling that the experience did not offer good value. Overall Impression Although the service and ambiance were pleasant, the food did not deliver on the promise of elevated Turkish cuisine. For the price point, I expected more in terms of both flavor and culinary finesse. I am unlikely to return.

Highly recommended if you love Mediterranean cuisine! The starters were fantastic, the main courses incredibly delicious, and the service was super friendly and very fast. The restaurant has very pleasant seating, but the highlight is the winter garden terrace right on the canal.

Came here for my anniversary dinner and it was fantastic- they wrote a note for us that was waiting at out table, we were sat right next to the canal, the food was amazing, and the service was impeccable (super friendly and attentive). 5/5 could not have asked for anything better. highly recommend!!

Had dinner here, close to canal tour boats. Excellent food and a comfort to have a nice sit down meal with a good selection. One of the few meals I had in Amsterdam that I would recommend and return to. I had the duck with lots of nice fruits and my niece had something else she enjoyed.

It is a really nice atmosphere; lovely people, fast service, good food and meze; the backyard is by the canal that is a good scene for dinner.

Excellent Turkish restaurant 'on the upscale'

The appetizers are varied and delicious, and each one is visually appealing. The eggplant and fish main dishes are delicious, and the rice is amazing delicious.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was disappointing enough to warrant one. The restaurant is significantly overpriced for what it offers — both in terms of food quality and overall service. The most frustrating part was the staff’s behavior. They were unprofessional and surprisingly rude. At one point, we were warned for supposedly talking too loudly, even though our table was speaking at a normal volume. It felt more like being scolded than served. The food itself was average at best — poorly cooked and nowhere near worth the price. Given the combination of bad service, unwelcoming atmosphere, and high cost, I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are far better options out there for your money.

I have been coming here for years, super friendly staff, with attention for you as a guest! Inside beautifully set tables, outside on the terrace you can sit wonderfully by the water in the summer. Food is good, fish, meat, vegetarian, tasty mezzes and the lemon tart is not to be sneezed at. The Turkish white wine delicious. In short: a must in a top location! Thanks again dear people.

We discovered Levant Restaurant by chance. The meze – shrimp, sea asparagus (Deniz Börülcesi), octopus and girit ezme – were delicious. As a main course we ordered the sea bass based on a recommendation. The fish was very fresh and well cooked, with a crispy crust. The ambience inside was particularly pleasant, accompanied by a wonderful nostalgic Turkish playlist. The decor is very tasteful, with old black and white photographs of convivial dining tables. For dessert we chose rice pudding. The sweetness was perfect, only the rice could have been a little softer. The Turkish coffee was kindly served on the house. The visit was definitely worth it.

The indoor atmosphere is excellent Service and service speed are extremely sufficient Taste = amazing :) Albanian liver is definitely recommended. Additionally, the fisherman's stew was delicious and delicious. The appetizers are plentiful and satisfying. Beylerbeyi navel is an important aspect of raki, available in all sizes. In conclusion, it was my first time visiting, but I'm sure I'll visit often from now on. The only negative comment: I wish it was brewed tea :)

Was looking for a restaurant near Museumplein and found this gem! Such an amazing dining experience ✨ Amazing food Friendly service Picturesque view from the terrace Reasonable price for the quality Some memorable snippets: - we walked in and was initially sat down in front of the register. Then seeing our unsure face, we were offered, "would you like to sit in the terrace?" We still look uncertain because we don't like noise. Then he said again, as if reading our mind, "don't worry, it's a closed terrace with a nice canal view". Very hospitable. - the food arrived with smokes still going out of them. Super hot and hearthy meal. Nice! - the waitress was attentive to us the whole time so it's easy to get some service I'd highly recommend this restaurant for anyone!

5 stars! This place has restored my faith in restaurants. I really appreciate the warm and welcoming service, the well-maintained space with crisp white tablecloths and napkins, and the fresh, homemade-tasting food. Everything tasted so good, clean and thoughtfully prepared, all while enjoying a beautiful canal view. I ordered the grilled chicken thigh with grilled vegetables — both were perfectly caramelized and seasoned, really delicious. My husband had the gambas, which were also delicious, and for dessert, we shared the rice pudding — soft, creamy, and absolutely perfect. I’d also recommend starting with the aubergine and tomato with bread — a flavorful and satisfying appetizer.

Stumbled in here on my own for a prix fixe and boy was the food, flavour and service more than I expected. They don’t make you feel weird about walking in, or dining solo. Their food is good. I can't say it's great, but it's nice. Still, I don't think it deserves its price. The service is very bad. You sit more comfortably in the taverns on the corners of Kadikoy. They always make you feel like you spent less. That's why there is a big problem with service. We never felt comfortable sitting. There is only a channel for the atmosphere, you are next to it. They don't have anything extra for the place. It's a mediocre place.

Levat is an absolute gem in Amsterdam! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is warm and inviting, with a stylish yet cozy interior that sets the perfect mood for a great dining experience. The food is simply outstanding—every dish is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The ingredients are fresh, and the menu offers a great balance of classic favorites and creative dishes that showcase the chef’s expertise. I highly recommend trying lamb grills dishes, as it was an absolute highlight of the meal!

I have been to the place three years ago and the last week. The quality of the food improved tremendously. All mezzes and main dishes were very tasty, I strongly recommend the fish, it is very professionally cooked. The service was great, definitely recommended.

Cozy, Turkish-Mediterranean. We were a small group from Cyprus, service was super patient and friendly. The best thing is, the boss Ramadan is personally there for the guests! I'd love to come back.

So online, I was searching for the best turkish restaurant in the benelux. The name Levant came up a few times. So I booked a surprise dinner for my girlfriends birthday (who is turkish). She was also homesick (comes from Istanbul). The atmosphere was amazing. We had a beautiful table with candle light, absolutely very hospitable owner and amazing food. This restaurant didn't fall short of my expectations and with very decent prices. Thank you for everything and we will be back!

It was a terrible experience. I opened this Google account to make this comment. Think of it as a plain cafe selling only raki and appetizers.

The food and atmosphere were good, but the owner and two employees there acted like they were on the top of an iceberg. We ended up having dinner there with six people, and they treated us as if we were in a restaurant for the first time. My phone rang, and when I answered it, the waiter came over within a second and told me to use earphones. This affected us negatively. A small child with us made a mix of the mezze's on the table on his own plate, which apparently irritated the owner, and he wanted to take the child's plate away. We then became very angry, but did not respond. As a conclusion: the food is tasty, but the owner and the waiter were extremely strange, cold and unpleasant. I never want to receive such a reception again while paying to eat. I don't recommend it to anyone either. I went there for the service and to spend a nice time with my family, but the constant intervention at our table was a terrible experience. I don't recommend anyone to go to Levant Restaurant and have a bad experience with your money and family.

I passed here several times and I like Mediterranean food, so for once I didn't continue direction Leidseplein but entered. Cosy place, and the menu is small but attractive. I had Karides Tava, shrimps with mushrooms and tomatoes in garlic sauce, and then Ördek, duck breast with dried prunes and nuts. Well, I was certainly not disappointed! The shrimps were delicious and a tad spicy, loved this dish! The duck breast was just Rosé, exactly as it should be, and the orange-based sauce with nuts was the perfect companion. I'm not exaggerating if I say this is in my top 3 of restaurants of the last half year.

Decent food. Been here at least 20 times. Every single time the service gets worse. Owner and head waiter are professional. Rest of staff repeatedly made us very uncomfortable. Now they hired new serving staff and its the worst ever. I don’t think we’ll ever go back.

My boyfriend and I had dinner there yesterday. The inner space of Levant was empty the time we arrived. The employee led us to the lovely terrace downstairs, which is right next to the canal, is decorated nicely and there is music in the background. All the people working there were very kind, constantly making sure we feel comfortable. We ordered one salad to share, one main dish each and one carafe wine. İmportant note that every wine on the menu, was Turkish and that definitely added to the experience. Regarding the food, we got the çopan salad, which was nice, but the highlights were the mains. We had the duck fillet with fruits and nuts, which was tender and well cooked. We also got the veal and lamb mince with pistachios and vegetables, which was so fragrant and fresh. Overall it was a great dinner and we will return in the future for sure!

It is an establishment where you can eat very delicious food. The staff is very attentive. This is a restaurant where you can feel like you are in your homeland. We would like to thank Mr. Ramazan and Fırat.

The taste was okay, but I left because I was offended by the waiter. In order to sell at least one more item, they keep changing the order by telling them to just eat the main course if they want coffee or that they will tell them. They open water without even ordering it and pour it into a cup, or they put bread on the table even though I said I wouldn't eat it. They brought me a tray to sell me a starter (I think that's what they usually do at this store) and even though I refused, they forced me to listen. I was upset so I only ate the main meal and didn't have dessert. If we keep doing this, we won't be able to sell much food~~

For two hours I felt back in Istanbul. Classic, authentic, formal. Good food: the liver was quite tender and Ezme didn't taste like tomato paste (which most Turkish restaurants make it so). Nice customers. Highly recommend.

One waiter in particular treated us very poorly, they rushed us to order, and if we asked for a recommendation he told us that he didn't know, the truth is that it left a bad experience. Other than that the food is delicious, good location, close to the museums.

We had a delicious meal here prior to a visit to Paradiso. Unfortunately we had to limit ourselves to a main course because we didn't have much time. Overall we thought the prices were very reasonable for the various dishes on the menu. The service was friendly and attentive, as it should be! The restaurant consists of 2 floors. The upper one is at the level of the Weteringschans and downstairs is the kitchen and the covered terrace on the water. Next time in Amsterdam we will take more time to eat here.
