The pizza was delicious, but the appetizers were also good. The service was proactive and friendly.

Disgusting, truly disgusting. The melanzane was incredibly watery, the waiter grabbed the bread with his hands at the table, and the pasta was completely overcooked: we had the Arrabiata, which was unbearable, with no spice whatsoever (which this pasta should have), not even salt or pepper. Never again! I really don't understand how this restaurant has 4.8 stars. It's a shame for the sweet woman who served us, because she's a star!

Food and service excellent, good prices for Amsterdam. Pizzas and Lasagna were delicious. Food and drinks for family of 4 was €70. We attended on a hot evening and there was no ventilation or A/C so was very warm inside, otherwise would have been 5*

The pizza was good, maybe a bit more than average, but my bet is that it isn't their main product in the restaurant. I would return and try some pasta or other meals in the menu. I've seen these in other tables and I had the sensation that my choise wasn't good. People there were really kind to me there, too. It's a nice place.

Huge portions, fresh ingredients, great flavour. Very happy with our choice. Had a mixed salad and the lasagna. Good salad, good portion size. The lasagna was awesome, huge, fresh. If I could do 6 stars I would.

Good neighborhood Italian restaurant. Takes reservations. We were a large table of 7 and were served quickly. The dishes were generous. 1 star less for the tomato sauce on the dishes, which was a little acidic for my taste: it would benefit from being cooked with a small piece of carrot to soften it. Otherwise, everything was perfect! If I had to do it again, I would! And the server (owner?) is very kind.

We spontaneously stopped by here this evening and managed to get a spot in the evening sun. The pizza was delicious, albeit with pressed ham. The tiramisu truly deserves five stars; highly recommended. And the prices are really reasonable by Amsterdam standards. The restaurant seems to be mostly frequented by locals, but its quiet location in a terraced housing development means it doesn't offer a particularly spectacular view. We were glad to have dined here today.

The chicken was extremely salty, and the carbonara was with some sort of pancetta and not guanciale, but overall acceptable.

A restaurant in the heart of the tourist area, with a pleasant atmosphere and quick service. The food is good for Amsterdam, though I wouldn't call it a true Italian restaurant. The portions are adequate, and the dishes are simply but tastyly prepared. A solid choice if you're in the area and want something pleasant to eat without too many expectations of authenticity.

The food was delicious! It’s a charming little restaurant in a quiet area, nice for a relaxing meal outside of the busy city. Service and atmosphere were exceptional.

A beautiful small Italia restaurant on a quite street. Feels like a beautiful community setting with children playing in the park nearby and people enjoying their fresh pizzas. I specially loved their mushrooms, soup and aubergine dish. The chef herself came to give us the dishes. Tiramisu wasn't my fav as there was chocolate syrup on top which reduced the coffee flavors but maybe it's their take on tiramisu. Overall it was still moist, melted in the mouth. We were also served some breads on the house, which felt special.

Nice place, was very tasty, friendly owner, good service, friendly staff, but we were a bit surprised about 1 dessert: about the prosecco, vodka lemon ice in a mini glass from the blender, this had simply become a juice, and cost 10 euros, my wife also immediately regretted it... it had simply become an overpriced juice, the tiramisu was not really special and was just from the wholesaler, not homemade and they also charge quite a lot for that. for. Everything else was just good and reasonably priced, but you should avoid the deserts

We were looking for something to eat for the evening and didn't want a burger etc. Then we came across the Italian restaurant and were thrilled. The food was very good, the service was super friendly and helpful (knowledge of German). We arrived around 6 p.m. and there was still enough space. Later it was very well filled.

Food has nothing to do with Italian cuisine. If it was just a restaurant, it would be fine, but for an Italian restaurant it's very disappointing. Service and atmosphere is nice, but nothing super special.

Great restaurant, great service and delicious food

This is a small family owned business that takes amazing care and attention to their customers. This restaurant will beat any italian restaurant downtown. While this may not be the place for a formal date, it really could be if you plan it to be more laid back, which matches the relaxed Amsterdam vibes. I ordered the Al Salmone pasta, it was very well done and fresh. I have tried this dish at plenty of Italian establishments and not many have been able to ace it! Each restaurant has their own take on this dish, this time the sauce a white cream based sauce which compliments well the zucchini, greens, and Salmon. I highly recommend this place to anyone trying lay back and relax, while enjoying hearty food prepared with the warm atmosphere and love of food that this restaurant provides. I added the new menu to this review, so everyone can see the revamped menu.

The food was super tasty! We ate pizza and focaccia beforehand. The focaccia was really delicious and the pizza was really big so we didn't even finish it :) The staff was very friendly. Definitely recommended!!!

29 Jan 25 Just had my first meal at this hidden restaurant. What a discovery! Fairly new in the area and against all odds still know what friendliness, hospitality and service is. We enjoyed the starter, main and dessert and the friendly atmosphere from start to finish. A chef who cooks with love. You can taste that. 27 Feb 25 Update: Had dinner at this restaurant again tonight. This time we sat towards the kitchen. There was someone standing there baking/cooking the stars of heaven with so much attention. An incredibly delicious meal!

Nice for a quick bite! No antipasti that i Iike really… like ham, burrata or Vitella tonato! Pasta or fries served with mains which seemed a bit off but was actually nice. Waiter was friendly and sweet to our daughter. Nice primativo red. We’ll probably be back as we live in the neighbourhood!

Very cozy and homely Italian place which you can go anytime when you feel like having some nice Italian food. We are regular here and love their lasagna and tiramisu.

As an Italian I felt offended. This is not an Italian restaurant, I’ve never eaten as bad as in this place. The lasagna is microwaved and watery. The pizza is made with cheap ingredients that I wouldn’t buy not even in a supermarket. Such a shame. I think they cancel the reviews, because I can’t understand how this place is still rated 4.8! Don’t go!

We had dinner here our first night during a week long adventure in Amsterdam. The food was superb, the servers were wonderful, and the owner is warm and welcoming! We loved it so much we made plans to have dinner there again the night before our departure! Everything we tried was exceptional and their tomato sauce is amazing! We felt like we found a little gem in L’incontro and knew it would make our last night special!

The Tiramisu is EXCELLENT!!! We went there 3 times and they remembered us an treated us so great. Sadly we have moved so we won’t be going back, but I wish we could.

The place is very cozy, on a quiet street. The food was delicious I ordered a Carbonara and one Tortellini. Everything was very clean, I think they have a very attentive and hygienic employee who takes care of everything inside. I will definitely be back.

Food really not good. Pasta salmon, absolutely nothing to do with traditional Italian dish. Pasta Tartufo, it really couldn't be drier and more tasteless. With all due respect, the service is very nice, the food really has nothing to do with Italian cuisine.

L'Incontro manages to be both a nice "neighborhood restaurant" and a really good place for italian food. It stands in a nice corner within De Baarsjes, with tables outside and a cozy interior, served super friendly by the owner and staff. But while it's all relaxed and informal, the food is great! From the pizzas to the pasta, everything we had in several visits has always been really good, with big portions and a really fair price.

I often use it on my way home from the gym. I've been there a few times and it's very good service and it tastes good. It's a really great restaurant. I always order number 66. Everyone, please eat with your family, friends and lovers！
