L'incontro Italiaans Restaurant in Westindische Buurt

Just had my first meal at this hidden restaurant. What a discovery! Relatively new to the area and still knowing what friendliness, hospitality and service are against all odds. We enjoyed the starter, main course and dessert and the friendly atmosphere from start to finish. A chef who cooks with love. You can taste it.

Nice for a quick bite! No antipasti that i Iike really… like ham, burrata or Vitella tonato! Pasta or fries served with mains which seemed a bit off but was actually nice. Waiter was friendly and sweet to our daughter. Nice primativo red. We’ll probably be back as we live in the neighbourhood!

Very cozy and homely Italian place which you can go anytime when you feel like having some nice Italian food. We are regular here and love their lasagna and tiramisu.

As an Italian I felt offended. This is not an Italian restaurant, I’ve never eaten as bad as in this place. The lasagna is microwaved and watery. The pizza is made with cheap ingredients that I wouldn’t buy not even in a supermarket. Such a shame. I think they cancel the reviews, because I can’t understand how this place is still rated 4.8! Don’t go!

My family and I dined here yesterday evening and it was amazing! We were a big group and they took great care of us all. Everyone enjoyed their different dishes. I got the lasagna and it was insane so delicious. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam💞❤️‍🩹💞

A simply cozy Italian restaurant. Simple and very tasty. You can sit comfortably there or pick up your food quickly. We come back here often! (Spaghetti carbonara is highly recommended here)

We had dinner here our first night during a week long adventure in Amsterdam. The food was superb, the servers were wonderful, and the owner is warm and welcoming! We loved it so much we made plans to have dinner there again the night before our departure! Everything we tried was exceptional and their tomato sauce is amazing! We felt like we found a little gem in L’incontro and knew it would make our last night special!

The Tiramisu is EXCELLENT!!! We went there 3 times and they remembered us an treated us so great. Sadly we have moved so we won’t be going back, but I wish we could.

The place is very cozy, on a quiet street. The food was delicious I ordered a Carbonara and one Tortellini. Everything was very clean, I think they have a very attentive and hygienic employee who takes care of everything inside. I will definitely be back.

Food really not good. Pasta salmon, absolutely nothing to do with traditional Italian dish. Pasta Tartufo, it really couldn't be drier and more tasteless. With all due respect, the service is very nice, the food really has nothing to do with Italian cuisine.

Everything was so nice. Tasy food and perfect service. They even split the one dish we ordered for the girls into two plates in advance. First time we encounter someone who really thinks of everything for the comfort of the parents! :)

L'Incontro manages to be both a nice "neighborhood restaurant" and a really good place for italian food. It stands in a nice corner within De Baarsjes, with tables outside and a cozy interior, served super friendly by the owner and staff. But while it's all relaxed and informal, the food is great! From the pizzas to the pasta, everything we had in several visits has always been really good, with big portions and a really fair price.

I often use it on my way home from the gym. I've been there a few times and it's very good service and it tastes good. It's a really great restaurant. I always order number 66. Everyone, please eat with your family, friends and lovers！

The food was delicious and the waitress was incredibly friendly, me and my girlfriend had an amazing date here. We shared the foccacia as a starter, we both loved it. For mains I had the spaghetti bolognese which was great and my girlfriend had the carbonara which wasnt as good but still great. I also had something for desert but dont remember the name it was very nice too. The prices were spot on. The restaurant is very small and hidden away from the main roads. we booked a table, but i feel like we didn't have to. If I come back to Amsterdam this would be on my list. We are from England.

Nice little Italian restaurant 👌🏼 the owner is not Italian by the way (has a lot of experience) started his own business 3 years ago after working in Italian restaurants since 1978 (over 40 years). Nice prices and good food for the environment which he has specifically chosen for the people in this neighborhood. Both the main courses and desserts were delicious.

Good restaurant but sadly below expectations. Seeing all the amazing reviews about this restaurant I really thought I had found a hidden gem, but it was just a good restaurant. Some of the dishes like the scaloppina, salmon, caprese & lasagna were great while the carbonara & calamari were okay, I do have to say the prices were very fair for Amsterdam, probably below average. The service left much to be desired, it was slow and disorganised, with the waitress barely knowing anything about what she was serving, making her have to go to the back to ask the owner. I wouldn't be surprised if she was still in training. The restaurant itself is very quaint as it has a traditional italian look and is in the middle of a residential area, hidden from the busy streets. If you want to eat here you should probably book a table in advance as the place is small. Maybe we just got unlucky but personally I wouldn't recommend this place over any other Italian in Amsterdam.

Lovely family-run Italian, with wide-ranging, good value menu and delicious food. Service wasn't the fastest but was super friendly.

Gezellig cozy restaurant met vriendelijke bediening. Vooraf kregen we een heerlijke zelfgemaakte kruidenboter met warm brood en wat gemarineerde olijven van het huis. We bestelde allebei een glas rode wijn en kregen daarbij een glas water van het huis. Daarna had ik de spaghetti carbonara, ook erg lekker! Prijzen zijn erg schappelijk voor wat je krijgt.

Qualidade incrível a preço acessível. O Dono/empregado super atencioso e muito simpático. Pedi uma sopa pois estava com pouca fome e ele acabou por me oferecer uma cesta de pão para acompanhar. Devo dizer que a sopa pelo aspecto não parecia tão saborosa até provar. Valeu muito a pena.

This place blew our socks off! It’s definitely a little hidden gem in this neighborhood. The owner is so kind, welcoming and friendly and he takes the time to make sure you get exactly what you want. And then there is the FOOD! It was absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked pasta, delicious sauces, and the best tiramisu I’ve ever eaten. Also the prices here just don’t match the quality, they could charge more! 100% this was our favorite meal in Amsterdam.
