Santi & Santini in Jordaan

Never got a chance... My wife has been to the Puglia region for a few trips and I was excited to bring her to this restaurant for our first dinner together on our honeymoon in Holland. We came for dinner at 850 for a table for 2. The woman asked if we have a reservation. (It didn't seem like a place that you would need one to me) I said no. She went to check and said they had a table but we could only stay for one hour. Having just come from Italy for a week, I understood this could pose a problem for some but we were starving from our flight from Milan. We were sat right away at a 4 top table. That was the last time we saw our waitress. We sat for 20 min while watching other guests get seated and drink orders taken. My wife was starving and our hour deadline was looming. After we were ignored for the millionth time min we left. The menu was pretentious anyway. The pizza place down the street called Pazzi was AWESOME.

We enjoyed our meal. One kind of pasta, and limited menu. Good product though! 👍🏼

Not sure where all the 5 star ratings are coming from. We got lured in by the reviews but this place is overpriced and the food is mid. Good points: great decor, loved the tablewear and atmosphere, good came quickly and service was okay. Bad points: we ordered mixed salad with seasonal vegetables, this was basically some limp dry leaves and fennel with some cucumber...no dressing and no oil on the table or offered. Burratta starter had zero texture added to the dish, just cheese and a weak tomato sauce poured over the top (at €16!), foccacia was cold and tasted stale, croquettes and savoury doughnuts were okay but nothing amazing for the price. We had the ragu pasta and special pasta (guanciale in a tomtato sauce). We thought with such a tight menu and specialising in a particular pasta shape they should shine here. Unfortunately the pasta was very dense and not like any orecchiette I've had before, the ragu was passable but not as deep tasting as hoped. The sauce with the guanciale had nice pieces of cherry tomatoes but for me had a slightly odd taste. Portion sizes were good. The service was pretty good, although the one girl was rushed off her feet, I had to take salt and pepper from an empty table as our table was not set properly despite having reservations. I also had to specially ask what the specials were, again think a reflection of how busy the young girl was. Dont get me wrong, the food isn't disgusting, but it is not worth the price at all. Disappointed we ended up at such a tourist trap, but if you need to fill your belly after a big day of sightseeing, want a lively atmosphere and maybe stick to just the pasta dishes then you may find it suits you more than it did us.

Everything we ate was excellent; especially the eggplant parmigiana among the starters. The "Vongole al Primitivo" from the pasta menu is also a must-try.

Friendly staff and quick service — the dishes arrived without much waiting. The restaurant itself has a simple, homey interior. The food was quite basic and tasted similar to something you could make at home, while I was expecting something a bit more distinctive. The homemade pasta was dense, which may be a regional characteristic of Puglia. In the pasta with sun-dried tomatoes, there were only a few of them, even though they added most of the flavor. The tomato sauce itself was rather mild. The music was quite loud, and it kept stopping and repeating, which affected the overall atmosphere.

Excellent food!! The staff is courteous, attentive, and professional. Stefy and Elisa served us with great care! The atmosphere is quiet and the place is very beautiful. There's a welcoming atmosphere that leaves its mark. Go there!!!! I absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to eat a great plate of (real) ITALIAN pasta in Amsterdam!

Delicious dishes. We were a group of five friends. The staff was incredibly kind and eager to explain all the dishes to us... those orecchiette pasta took us back home to Italy. Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness.

What a delightful discovery on Hazenstraat. The food was truly fantastic and the presentation is incredibly atmospheric. I especially liked the dessert in the small glass jar with the green and white checkered lid; it was a very nice touch. Everything tasted fresh and was prepared with love. The plates with the colorful patterns made the whole experience extra cozy. I will definitely be back here soon.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Amsterdam! The place itself is very stylish and feels warm, combined with the quality service the atmosphere is great. This place offers authentic Italian food made with the best ingredients. We had the ragu pasta, polpetonne and octopus, all of them were delicious! The food is clearly made with love. I will definitely return!

We went here because of the good reviews, but sadly, we did not have a good experience at Santi & Santini. Firstly, the inside of the restaurant looked really nice and cozy. We were greeted at the door and were able to sit down despite not having a reservation. When we sat down, we had to wait a while for someone to come and take our order. We got the Burrata as a first meal to share and two pasta Vongole. Again, we waited a long time for the Burrata and for 16 euros, we thought it was too pricey. After that we waited almost an hour for the pasta. Meanwhile, we saw people come in who got their meals within thirty minutes. It was busy yes, we both have 100% understanding for this, but we did not understand how multiple tables that came in after us already had their complete dishes and we were still waiting. It was pretty clear that they probably forgot. Then the Vongele, we both enjoy cooking- and eating Italian food quite a lot. However, we both did not enjoy this pasta. The pasta itself was still quite hard, which was okay, but the taste also wasn't that nice. For 25 euros, we were not happy. Stuff was put on our table without even looking at us, multiple times we were not seen (or ignored?). The wait and food combined, I wish I could give a higher rating because of the cute place but sadly I can't.

I had such a great time at Santi & Santino! In fact it was my second time cause the 1st time was super delish! Elisa and Stefy were fabulous! Super helpful and provided great recommendations! I recommend you try Elisa’s favorite white wine!

Stumbled upon this place as it was near my hotel and I’m so glad I did! Food was delicious, staff was nice, it has a cool aesthetic and the vibes were great. The restaurant is cozy so it was a bit loud but not enough to take away from the experience.

Service was great. Was busy at 9pm but still got a seat for 2 W/o reservations. Overall great but didn’t think food was really above 4 stars.

A truly fantastic experience, the place is extremely welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious, featuring the authentic flavors of Apulian (Italian) cuisine. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is really pleasant. Well deserved five stars we will definitely be back soon!

We had an absolutely spectacular experience at Santi & Santini. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable — attentive, friendly, and truly welcoming throughout the entire evening. The food was outstanding, with authentic Italian flavors, fresh ingredients, and beautifully prepared dishes. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was also warm and charming, making it the perfect place to enjoy a wonderful dinner in Amsterdam. Without a doubt, one of the best Italian restaurants we’ve visited. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be coming back!

Had a great evening at Santi & Santini! I had a delicious pasta with mushrooms and guanciale as my main course, and a spumone as dessert. The staff was very friendly and made our evening complete.

A cozy and welcoming place in Jordaam with Apulian details, lights, and magnificent ceramics. The menu is fantastic: focaccia, parmigiana, orecchiette with meatloaf, and amazing desserts!!! Omi, cheerful and kind, pampered us with the entire service, as did the entire staff! Truly, congratulations!!!

The food was amazing, the fresh pasta really made a difference. I had the zucchini vegetarian pasta which had so much umami flavor. The olives were also delicious, though slightly too large to really eat gracefully. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere cute and fun but not overly loud. The plates and ceramics were also stunning. We would highly recommend!

The waiter forgot about our order. The food came late, I received something different from what I ordered and had to wait for another 10 minutes to get my food while my companion finished eating.

A huge waste of potential! The restaurant is visually very appealing, with delicious food. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined it, leaving our expectations unmet. It should be embarrassing enough for the staff that we, as guests, had to ask if we could order because absolutely nothing happened for the first 20 minutes. Then, like almost everyone else around us, the waitress had to come back after 5 minutes to ask what we had ordered. Then came about a 40-minute wait before the food was finally served. There was no sign of remorse, only a lasting impression of pure indifference. A real shame.

The pasta is fresh and yummy! But overall I think it can be a bit more flavourful or rich. Could be just my taste tho! The space is cute and gezillig. Would recommend for a relaxed dinner.

It’s a very cute place. Service was ok. Food was very average. We got the bread with toppings for start…. Very bland. Some olive oil would probably help. Then we got the pasta in special… and the Suigo. I don’t know if it’s the type of pasta or the cooking but I felt very chewy… flavors - nothing special.

Second visit here — the food left a good enough impression the first time to bring me back for lunch. The place was packed, but we managed to snag a table, which was a good sign. It took about 10 minutes to receive a menu. Staff apologized, and to be fair, the gentleman on the floor was attentive and genuinely excellent — a solid 5 out of 5. Someone even thought to bring two beers while we waited, which was a nice touch. We ordered one starter and two pastas. When I asked one of the female staff about the wait for pasta, she said 10 minutes. In reality, the starter took 20 minutes to arrive, followed by another 15+ minutes for the pasta. The restaurant had quieted down considerably by then — tables were being cleared, the rush was clearly over — yet service felt absent-minded rather than overwhelmed. At one point I asked the same staff member for a glass of wine. It was forgotten. Not because she was busy, but it simply slipped through. That carelessness is what ultimately defines this visit. The food is good, the one gentleman on staff is top-tier, but inconsistent service drags the whole experience down. I almost didn’t write this — but the waiting times and the indifference were too hard to overlook.

During our stay in Amsterdam, we booked at this restaurant attracted by the excellent reviews, the place is small and it is better to book, the food is really good and the raw materials are excellent and what can I say about the service, truly impeccable, if I could I would give it 10 stars, the waitresses are SUPER BRAVE.

I am Italian from Puglia. And honestly, In Puglia the Orecchiette do not taste so good like in this restaurant. The Orecchiette pasta with meat were absolutely a Master piece of culinary Italian experience. Absolutely a must have!

I love this place! Feels like at home, recently discovered and very happy about the quality of the food, the taste and pairings and the people inside. Recommended to those who wants to try a taste of Apulia at least once

ok ok, you see the star rating and might think, 'he is a family member of the owner' :-) Having been at Santi&Santini 4 times (last time this past monday) I sort of feel I am part of the family, and that feeling is purely based on two main aspects, being the 'coziness and friendliness' of the staff (besides their high compentence) and the 'hearty food', just like you have when is your mum cooking. Now with this been said, let's get more 'technical' about my review and why I HIGHLY recommend this place. Let's start with the ambience, the restaurant might fall in the 'small' category, as it doesn't have lots of seating places (thus place a reservation!) but for me this is a plus, since 'small' places give me a more cozy feeling, besides they offer the opportunity for the staff to being more 'attentive' (less people to cater/serve for). Staff, as mentioned is very friendly and also skilled, which too often is overlooked. One example, when explaining the day dishes which were not mentioned on the menu, they mentioned also the price for those dishes. Might sound nit-picking but it is the right way to present an offer, is like when you order steak-meat or lobster they should tell you the weight and the price/weight. Let's come now to the food.... Another star of this place, no matter what you take everything tastes right as it should, as it is when is your mum cooking. Last Monday we took two appetizers, one being small fried squares of polenta with caramelized onion topping and one being a mix of fried finger food (potato croquette and small fried dough) which to me being from Naples/Italy were just like back home. As main corse, you come to Santi&Santini to eat pasta in the 'orecchiette' shape a classic Apulian dish. Ours were one with a zucchini cream and stracciata (type of burrata cheese that comes in loose strips) topped by fried zucchini disks and the other one was with a red pepper sauce and crispy bacon bits. Both dishes were delicious besides the fact that all their orecchiette dishes are very generous in portion. Having gone to a concert right after we didn't take any dessert, but we have done in the past and also these were very good and tasty. You can clearly say that Santi&Santini has found the right alchemy between the front staff and the kitchen one, and this warrants for a very lovely experience. So bottom line, if you want to eat well, don't miss out this place, my suggestion is to go there for a lunch and then go for a nice walk in the city center, I have done it and it made the whole day perfect. Probably my favourite Italian restaurant in Amsterdam, and even the whole of the Netherlands. The food is really amazing, everything from the appetiser to the dessert, especially the pasta sauces make one feel warm on the inside. The staff is also incredibly kind and friendly, our waitress Omi was truly a sweetheart and a pleasure to chat with. Would recommend to anyone looking for a delicious plate of pasta and a memorable meal in Amsterdam.
