We were a group of ten people, would like to start off with the positive: great and attentive service! Unfortunately, the food was disappointing to me, we all went with the 3-course surprise menu, because we were a big group, we got to taste each other’s dishes. The burrata and fish appetizers were a let down, very bland, however, the veal with tuna was good. For the main course, the seared tuna fish dish was too salty, and the meat dish was too bland. Sadly for some, the portion was too small. Dessert was good, it was lava cake accompanied by a small scoop of ice cream and then ended with some sort of lemon sorbet drink

Authentic Italian cuisine. Fresh and delicious!

After many warm recommendations we ended up in La Tarantella. We had very high expectations because of all the recommendations and fantastic reviews. My girlfriend lived in Italy for years. We both found everything we ordered very disappointing. Absolutely nothing special, far from real Italian cousine. Eggplant as a main course had a very strange taste and was all super small. Very unfortunate, very expensive, but absolutely not special. To be honest, I was very hungry afterwards and we had to get some fries after a meal of 100 euros.

Fantastic dinner, with excellent service. This was our favorite dinner on our trip so far. The ricotta was delicious, wine pairing was spot on.

This place is my favorite Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. Nico is a great host and the service was superb. The shared platters were a fantastic starter, and both the fish and meat of the day were sublime. Their terrace is very cosy to spend a summer evening.

This is a little gem of an Italian restaurant. I happened on it by chance and decided to enjoy dinner here. The menu is small, and don't expect your usual pasta and pizzas. The menu is well crafted, and there is something for everyone. The specials of the day were extensive, and it was hard to decide what to have. After the bread, balsamic olive oil, and complementary bottle of water were delivered to the table, I opted for the Vitello Tonnato as a starter. Well, it could have been a main course, and I was hard pushed to finish it. Delicious. I didn't want to spoil my mains, but I had to finish this. Mains was a veal cheek on a bed of potato and parmesan, served with pickled vegetables. It was mouthwateringly tender, and I enjoyed every last morsel. All washed down with a glass or two of Primitivo. For dessert, I opted for the tiramisu. It was very nondescript. The only disappointment of the evening and I should have opted for the dessert of the day, the coconut panna cotta with passion fruit. The Italian guys serving me were very friendly and helpful. They even had time to stop and have a chat. Overall, it was a very welcome evening spent sitting out on the pavement at an Italian restaurant. I highly recommend the experience.

We had dinner here a week ago and it was absolutely wonderful! The service was super friendly and the chef (Nico) cooked excellently for us. It was really inspiring to see someone with so much passion for his profession. The dishes were delicious and the presentation was also beautiful. We really enjoyed the dining experience. In short, a fantastic restaurant that I would recommend to everyone!

An evening at La Tarantella is an evening you will never forget. This restaurant is hors category. Chef Nicola receives the guests very warmly. He talks passionately about his dishes and how he makes everything (!) himself, including the bread and balsamic vinegar. I asked what inspired him to want to do all this himself: He has no choice. The man is an artist! In the meantime, he also talks about the region he comes from, why his hams are aged at a depth of 10 meters (without salt!) and about the Franciscan monks. All dishes are full of flavor and what is striking is that salt is only used as a flavor enhancer, not as a flavor itself. The antipasti were delicious and extraordinary. All dishes were taste sensations. The highlight was the pork belly, mussels and marinated carrots. The pasta was of course homemade and perfectly cooked. What stood out were the intense flavors of the ingredients. The dessert was of course also home-made: a delicious dark chocolate cake from the oven with homemade raspberry ice cream. The coffee was excellent and no one looked crazy at those rustic Dutch people who ordered cappuccino after dinner. Bottles of tap water with a lemon (delicious lemons that were also worth a story!) were placed on the table without asking and constantly refilled. There was no push to drink more. Sympathetic! There were also good options for the vegetarians and vegetarian/gluten-free people in our party. The price was also quite reasonable. In short: a restaurant that offers a complete evening out. Highly recommended!

Delicious food at this authentic Italian restaurant. Everything is made with love, reverence and respect for Italian cuisine and you can taste it. I ate here for the first time tonight, great. I was having dinner with my girlfriend from Italy, we both loved it. Beautiful, authentic Italian. Antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci were all amazing. The host Nico from Puglia took great care of us, what an evening! If you ask me, best Italian in Amsterdam!

Small but nice menu card. Every dish would be explained perfectly. Tastefully prepared. The portions could be a little larger. Prices are quite generous!

Great authentic Italian food. We had dinner with 6 persons and started with sharing the selection of antipasto from the chef. As always there were many dishes on the table and these were all delicious. The gnocchi with pear that I had as a main course was extremely good. And also the pistachio soufflé for desert was incredible. Service was very friendly. We will definitely be back. Heavily recommended for everyone who likes Italian food.

Vanavond hier gegeten. Wat een genot zeg! 4 gangen menu van de chef. Alles was heerlijk. De bediening super vriendelijk. We vonden het zo lekker dat we na t dessert nog een voorgerecht genomen hebben. En nog een dessert. Wel gedeeld hoor met ze 4en. Voor herhaling vatbaar. Bedankt voor deze fantastische ervaring. Great food, and attentive and friendly service. Some of the best Italian food you'll find in Amsterdam. Very dog friendly. The owner even gave our puppy a special treat of unsalted veal.

Weer heel lekker gegeten bij Tarentella. Het eten is verfijnder, de porties beter. We hadden een drie gangenmenu. Voor goede eters een beetje krap daarom nog een schotel gefrituurde vis met z'n tweeën gedeeld. Viergangen was weer teveel geweest. Maar bij een voorgerecht wel een vraagteken. Tuinbonenpuree met andjovissaus, balsamicoparels en een krokant koekje. Erg lekker maar gezien de prijs wel wat "zunig". Hoorde er niet nog iets bij? Desondanks lekker gegeten, op de rest geen aanmerkingen. Komen we terug? Zeker weten! Dit restaurant aanbevelen? Absoluut!

Grande Nicola! Sono venuta a trovare mio nipote ad Amsterdam che ha insistito nel volermi portare in questo ristorante italiano. Sono rimasta a bocca aperta ma a pancia piena! Cibo squisito e locale molto accogliente. Il personale ci ha fatto subito sentire come a casa. Estremamente consigliato, specialmente se volete vivere un'esperienza culinaria autentica italiana. Complimenti!

Italiaans eten in Nederland, alsof je in Italië bent. Gerechten volgens traditie en met juiste wijn keuzes. Bediening is zeer verwelkomend en gastvrij. Geen indringende achtergrond muziek en de locatie is erg prettig. Er zijn wat reacties over de bediening en snelheid van het eten, maar het lijkt mij dat dit gasten zijn die op zn ‘Nederlands’ alles in één keer proberen te bestellen. Als je met familie/gezin een lange, gezellige en zorgeloze avondmaaltijd wil genieten, dan zit je helemaal goed. Iemand anders schrijft dat er weinig smaak aan het eten zou zitten, die had vast corona smaakproblemen.. Wij vonden alle gerechten fantastisch. Zelfs toen we vroegen om brood voor het ossobuco merg, werd dit met uiterste zorg getoast en geleverd. Bravissimo!
