Little Italy in Wijk 01 Stadskern

Last week, four of my companions and I enjoyed a light meal at this establishment. I regret to report that the meal did not meet our expectations. However, I've held back from leaving a review these past few days because we were somewhat apprehensive about the owner's reaction, as evidenced by the previous negative reviews. Nevertheless, I want to take responsibility for informing any future visitors about our experiences last week. Upon arrival, to our great regret, we were immediately informed that no alcoholic beverages were available that evening. This reminded us more of a fast-food restaurant or an average children's playground where you might have spent many hours as a child. However, we didn't expect this from a self-respecting Italian restaurant. Nevertheless, we wanted to give this establishment the benefit of the doubt, so we decided to order a soft drink. Furthermore, my companions unanimously agreed that the meals served were not freshly prepared, but came from a wholesaler. The pizza had a striking resemblance to a frisbee, and the pasta carbonara was comparable in quality to a pesto pasta that could have been prepared in any Dutch student house. All in all, we were unhappy with this situation. After enjoying the main course, we decided—after paying the amount owed—to continue the evening at a location elsewhere that better met our expectations. We hope this review will encourage us to improve the quality of the food and the availability of various snacks. Until then, we advise against visiting this location.

The pizza tasted like it came from the freezer... dead end otherwise.

Bad experience. From the moment we walked in a lady and a gentlemen was very rude. One of the staff was nice with a smile on her face however they were so weird when we wanted to seat somewhere else or asked a coffee in a takeaway cup. Cozy place but poor customer service.

Magdalena is very friendly, kind and gave us ideas about deserts. We got the dubai brule brood and it was an excellent recommendation.

During pickup, a misunderstanding arose due to English-Dutch communication about the cost (€2 per bag) and about the cheese, which wasn't standard. When we asked to have this corrected, a short employee reacted visibly irritated (sighing, rolling his eyes, and handling items carelessly), and he even touched my arm without apology. I was frustrated at the time and expressed it. Another colleague eventually resolved the issue politely and apologized. Unfortunately, I was subsequently criticized for speaking "aggressively," which I found highly inappropriate. Miscommunication can happen, but empathy and professionalism were lacking here.

The atmosphere is cozy, and you can tell they really care about their guests. All in all, a wonderful experience and definitely a place I'd love to return to. We had a delicious meal. The staff is very friendly. And they have delicious cakes.

The staff seemed disinterested and complained about customers at the counter. You couldn't order wine or beer (alcoholic) with dinner, which I find rather odd for an Italian restaurant. The food was cold. And the atmosphere wasn't pleasant (some strange people tend to come here in the evenings). Not recommended.

Lay helped me today, she was a very nice lady and provided excellent service. We come here often, and the food is consistently good.

The food was delicious, the owner is very sweet, but the waitresses could definitely be friendlier and more customer-focused. When the four of us went for dinner today, I politely asked if we could sit at two tables. It certainly wasn't busy, and that was possible. To my surprise, the waitress indicated that this wasn't the intention. I explained that the four of us would never fit at the small round patio table. We eventually moved the tables together on our own initiative, which the "short, unpleasant lady" immediately criticized. She went inside to ask if this was allowed, but in the end, it wasn't a problem. We had a delicious meal, and afterward, we wanted a cup of coffee. I signaled the same waitress if we could order something, and she said in a peculiar way, "I'll be right there." After waiting 10 minutes, still no action. I constantly tried to make eye contact with her, but to no avail; she wasn't really busy with anything, but oh well. Finally, the owner came to take our order. The food is definitely recommended, but the service could definitely use some improvement. I understand that things aren't always rosy, but this level of customer service is truly appalling.

I ordered Caesar salad and the chicken wasn’t available to eat, it was sooooo spicy 🌶️ and without any sign about this in the menu. I’ve tried Caesar in many cafes and nowhere it was even a bit spicy. I had a discussion with a manager, and she don’t have communication skills. she tried to convince me that they always do it so spicy, and it’s good even for kids. But I literally couldn’t eat this. Eventually she agreed to give me a non-pepper chicken, but she said 'this is the first time and the last time '. I will never come back there. I’m extremely disappointed in the service !!!

I was politely shown to my table by a fantastic waitress. She served us really well, as she kept coming back to ask if everything was to our liking. The food was good, but the service was better. Thank you for the experience!

What struck me: I'd like to share my experience. There's a staff member named Karees who works at the restaurant. She's cheerful, eager to help, and incredibly sweet. A truly wonderful experience!

We've been coming here for years, and the coffee and food are truly excellent! We drink the best cappuccino (and cappadamia) in Amersfoort here. The pollo sandwich has been a favorite for years, with lots of well-seasoned chicken and a delicious sauce! The pastries are also delicious, like the NY cheesecake. We love coming here. The staff is friendly and fast. Downside: The restaurant's interior is a bit dated.

A truly unique experience and a heavenly smoothie

Excellent service and food. The pasta here is always incredibly good. - Ordered a sandwich, but unfortunately, it wasn't complete. I called, and they came up with a solution that was pleasant for the guest. You can't ask for more. Highly recommended restaurant for solo diners, family, or a fun time with your partner.
