It was super at Loetje again! We have now tasted all types of steak, and they are all favorites. It's nice that the staff considers us a favorite too! ;) That's why we received this nice card as a gift saying that we get 2 free desserts next time. Well, we will definitely be back!

I really love Loetje but this time I didn’t leave happy. We waited almost 1,5 hours to eat. Even with the reservation, we waited at the entrance 5-10 minutes to be seated. Also our waitress wasn’t very kind. Sorry but with these prices, it was a weak performance.

Our evening got off to a rather unusual start. We arrived with our 2-year-old daughter and were assigned a table. However, no high chair was offered, meaning her view was limited to the wide wooden edge of the table, forcing her to subject the veneer to a thorough quality control check. Since we then tried to make contact with the staff for over 15 minutes without success, I eventually went to look for a high chair myself and started lugging it around the restaurant. After about 30 minutes, we started seriously wondering if we might have died on the way there without realizing it. When a waitress finally came to our table, I asked her if she would pinch me to check if we were still visible *and* in the here. In all the confusion, she almost actually considered doing it... 😅 After an hour-long wet bike ride (thanks, Rain Radar!), we were naturally very thirsty, so we just used the QR code we happened to find on the table. Unfortunately, the first glass arrived with a very clear imprint of someone's lips. It was as if the previous user had left a silent flirt for me. Perhaps meant romantically, but not quite what I expect with a clean glass. Fortunately, that was resolved quickly. The medium Bali steak, which according to the menu is the standard preparation, was rare rather than medium (see photo). The taste was fine, by the way, but if medium is your standard, you should expect that standard to be consistently met. Additionally, the noise level was downright impressive (video added). Anyone looking for an intimate dinner would be better off booking elsewhere. During our visit, the screaming concert didn't take a single break. Holding a normal conversation occasionally required the volume of a train station announcer. We felt like we had ended up in a luxury dining hall, where a good conversation with your table companion almost required a microphone. But... fair is fair: when we shared our experiences, it was handled incredibly well. Sincere apologies were offered, the first three drinks were on the house, and as an extra gesture, we were offered a plate of chocolates. We appreciate that enormously. Mistakes can be made anywhere, but it is the way they are handled that ultimately makes the difference. In the end, despite everything, we had a fun birthday and, above all, had a good laugh. A tasty steak, an unexpected lip print, a spontaneous search for a high chair, an existential crisis regarding our visibility, and a noise level that allows you to enjoy the deafening silence at home for a little while longer afterwards. Thank you for the special birthday experience. We won't forget it anytime soon. 🫣

Simply delicious steak! Friendly staff and a prime location, parking right outside.

Cozy place but poor acoustics, too many hard materials. Service was a bit slow at first, large group of 50 people, but later it ran smoothly. Food was tasty.

As mentioned earlier in other reviews, the gravy was extremely salty, the steak was in 2 pieces (how many grams?), the service was very disorganized, inexperienced (I even had a glass of rosé spilled all over me; as compensation, I was given a few napkins to dab it dry😭; I reported this at the reception but was dismissed with a laugh). No more Loetje for me; the name is bigger than what you are served.

We enjoyed ourselves so much! Friendly staff, good explanation of the concept of Loetjes steaks! The "RoodeWaart" steaks with chicken livers/fried onions and the delicious gravy! The other steak was super! I had asked for the garlic gravy (served separately in a sauce bowl), and also wanted it served on warm plates, and that was accommodated! Additionally, the mixed salad, which was well-stocked by the way, and the super tasty fries (a bit too much mayonnaise) (:) but that doesn't spoil the fun. In a word, we will be back here. Loetje *is* steak!! Been there a few times. Always top-notch, and of course, the 300 grams with the sambal jus. Delicious.

The food and atmosphere were fine, but for a truly complete evening out, you really should stay here until you pay the bill. There, you get about 30 minutes of free entertainment: a supervisor who is busier directing staff, texting his manager, and arguing about menu prices than resolving a few Albert Heijn vouchers that were difficult to scan. Naturally, you get to watch this happen. Efficiency seems to be more of a concept than a skill here. Only when we indicated we were leaving could it suddenly be "arranged afterwards." By then, our party was already in Oisterwijk. The food was fine, but the service takes customer unfriendliness to a new level.

Best steak in town! A real treat every time!

The food is truly always fantastic. This was delicious again. We hadn't made a reservation, but a spot became available after half an hour. The service was good, but the table can accommodate a lot of guests, so they have to spread their attention out. Because of this, the atmosphere is also just a little less vibrant, possibly also because the acoustics are slightly poor. But all in all, it was truly another lovely evening out for dinner with very good (plenty of) food.

Restaurant with little flair, the steak looks cremated, the gravy which is supposed to be so "fantastic" is far too salty and tastes like it was rolled straight out of a packet; a real shame. I won't be coming here a second time.

The food and drinks were fantastic. Excellent tenderloin with a delicious garlic jus. The staff was friendly, and there was plenty of parking. The only downside is the acoustics. The sound is overwhelming, making it difficult to follow conversations. Keep up the good work, Loetje, we'll be back.

We had a wonderful meal at Loetje Breda on Wednesday evening. The food was delicious, but quite pricey... Upon arrival, we were helped quite quickly and shown to a table, where a very nice young man seemed to really enjoy his work. Despite the busy schedule, he seemed to still have time for everyone and their needs! You should keep this one! The drinks took a while, but were brought by a very friendly gentleman. I'd like to thank these guys and the rest of the team again for a wonderful evening! We'll definitely be back!

Restaurant with friendly staff and fast service. The food was delicious. It is, however, very noisy.

I found the experience disappointing. Loetje was nowhere distinctive. Steak over €40 (I had the XXL of 300g), was tasty but certainly not distinctive. The gravy with the steak made up for it a bit. By the way, we got two slices of bread with it to mop up, which looked rather poor. Meals very simple, no garnish and no side dishes, everything has to be ordered separately. Fries as an extra order in some kind of old-fashioned soup plate. Dessert was a nice surprise, I had the dessert from Loetje, it was tasty and looked neat. Service didn't make the difference. They came to take our order with dirty plates from another table, I saw that happened to others as well. Most of it was meh. First time and last time.

We ate at Loetje for the first time, and the food was delicious! It's not exactly cozy and welcoming, though. We were a bit disappointed that it was so noisy.

What a huge place. So big, more like a glorified diner. We had to wait a long time for a table even though we had a reservation. The bar was full of people eating, so we stood between the tables... Lots of staff, mostly English-speaking. Asking us to please speak English too, well... Little attention was paid to us as customers. It took a long time for our orders to be taken, both for drinks and food. The grilled vegetables were a greasy mess, fried before serving. The hamburger was cold when it was served. The plate of fries for four people was a bit skimpy. We weren't asked how we wanted our steak cooked. Later, I spoke with a staff member after our comments, and she indicated that it was indeed unexpectedly extremely busy. Well, we certainly noticed. It was the first and last time for us. P.S. Our steak was delicious and tender, by the way.

For New Year's, we opted for a tender slice of beef after all; we made the right choice by coming here. ✅ I chose the “Beef Tenderloin Steak De Roode Waard (Classic)” and once again, made the right choice. ✅ The steak 🥩 itself was deliciously tender and flavorful. The chicken liver 🐓 was also tasty, and I recommend taking it in the same bite in combination with a crispy, salty piece of bacon 🥓. 💯 You also definitely shouldn't forget to make the most of the delicious layer of gravy the steak is bathing in. 🛁 This gives you a great opportunity to dip your bread 🍞 into it, for example. I also ordered and downed a few of the “Loetje’s Blond” beers 🍻. This certainly contributed to the optimal enjoyment of this tender 🥩 treat.

A very good meal in a lovely, cozy setting. The risotto was amazing, the sweet potato fries were delicious, and the burger had a quality meat patty. The desserts were generous and very tasty. The only slight downside was that the fries were extra on top of the already €19.50 burger, but otherwise, the dishes were very good.

We had a great meal on Christmas Eve! The only downside is that I don't understand why they accidentally drop bread right in front of your table (it happens) and then start laughing among themselves. A bit strange.

We ate here tonight because this restaurant is known for its steak with gravy and bread. We ordered the steak, but unfortunately, the bread wasn't served. We mentioned this twice; both times, they said the bread was on its way, but in the end, it never arrived. Because we didn't want the steak to get cold, we ate it without bread. When clearing the table, we again mentioned that the bread hadn't arrived, and were told a colleague would bring it. This didn't happen either. What I found particularly disappointing was that no compensation or apology was offered. That feels a bit scandalous, especially considering the restaurant's reputation. It's a shame; this could have been handled much better.

Loetje. A concept chain. Absolutely brilliant. The staff are gems and work incredibly hard. And the steak is incredibly good… BUT. If you make a reservation, you'll still have to wait in line outside. After this experience, we went back as a large family, but were overlooked in the chaos of large groups and had to wait two hours. In my opinion, economics unfairly prioritizes the purpose of a restaurant.

First of all, delicious steaks, which you can order during lunch. Delicious cocktails! 😋 The staff are friendly. If you come with a larger group (13 people, the table will be quite cramped. I added an extra table to give you a bit more space to cut your steak. There were 9 of us, so we were able to move some chairs around).

We made a reservation the day before for dinner the next day at 4:30 PM. The restaurant was festively decorated for Christmas. We found the tables a bit cramped, with four people at a small round table. The food was served quickly. The steak was excellent, just barely warm inside. The gravy was delicious, and the portion of fries was generous.

I walked in and was immediately shown to a table and served right away. I chose the burger and my mother gave me a bite of the steak, and both were excellent. The atmosphere was certainly good, but it could definitely be better. Definitely recommended if you want to eat a truly good steak!

Table reserved for 6:15 PM. We were shown to the table politely. Then we waited over 20 minutes to order a drink and look at the menu. No staff in sight!!! Guests who came in after us were served, though. Draw only one conclusion: get up and get out. They will NEVER see us here again.

Known for their steak. And they certainly lived up to their reputation. We had a delicious steak with garlic jus. It was incredibly filling, though... Easily accessible with ample parking. Just outside Breda. Busy for a Thursday night. Quite crowded. The food is definitely recommended.

It's a gloomy situation right now. I have to use my phone flashlight to read the menu. We weren't asked how we wanted our steak. Steak with the wrong gravy and really way too raw. Fries cold/lukewarm, limp, and greasy. I poured my beer into the glass and hit dead instantly. I've had it different here before. What a shame!

A fantastic evening at Loetje! On a Wednesday evening: busy, for sure—but everything went very smoothly! Despite the crowd, we got a table for two after a five-minute wait, and the lady who served us at the counter was fantastic! Everything was perfectly organized and served with a smile. The steak zero was, as always, wonderfully tender, cooked perfectly, with fries and salad—perfect. In short: Loetje Breda is busy for a reason. Delicious food, a great atmosphere, and a friendly team.

Great food, too few staff and very noisy

A restaurant-style restaurant. Crowds are crowded. Tables are close together. Despite it being a Saturday night, my colleague and I were still able to get a table for two. Tenderloin steak...sounds special to me...they're two very different cuts of meat, in terms of quality. It's either steak or tenderloin...but oh well. We ordered the sauce separately so we could properly assess the meat. One side of fries was more than enough for the two of us. We also ordered the chicken livers. Super tender, delicious with it. The steak was very tender, so definitely good quality. I don't think it was tenderloin, because that's generally more tender. But the quality is excellent, and you don't get them like that very often. The famous gravy. Flavorful but incredibly salty. A bit too much of a good thing for my taste. The price is okay. Quite expensive, but good quality. It's very noisy, and you can just about carry on a conversation without shouting. But the first time with Loetje was good.

A huge mess, what a racket. Really tired of the noise. The food is mediocre and overpriced for what you get. Tasteless carpaccio. We both ordered steak and weren't asked how we wanted it. One got a large, thick steak, and I got two small cubes of gravy. I suspect it came from a jar; it was mostly salty. No, never again. The staff varied; most were good and friendly, but one was from a completely different planet.

Great service, and of course, the delicious garlic Loetje. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there were a lot of young children there who were being noisy. Otherwise, it was a fantastic experience. If you really love a good piece of meat, you have to try Loetje!

We recently dined at Loetje Breda with six people, including one child. The steak was delicious, accompanied by generous portions of fries and salad. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was good, though a bit noisy due to the number of tiles on the pillars. The cheesecake was delicious. The large piece of apple pie was less delicious. I definitely recommend Loetje Breda!
