We enjoyed a delicious Chardonnay from California; highly recommended. That nice young man did a TOP job, and if you don't like the taste after a sip, you simply get another Chardonnay. But the wine is truly worth a 10, and the food too. Fantastic restaurant and very friendly staff 👍

Had the standard AH lunch. Perfect as always. Nothing beats a steak from Loetje with Bali, white bread, and fries. Simply top-notch.

On the way home, a quick bite at Loetje... and of course, a steak with bread... Walked in unexpectedly without a reservation; it was possible... so that was a relief... a table for 2. The table was quite sticky, so your plate didn't slide off the table, and neither did your arm... reasonable service, though in my opinion, the staff came to ask for drinks a bit too often... and yes, nowadays at Loetje too, you have to place your order in English (English-speaking staff). Otherwise, everything went fine... not too long wait times, and the food was and almost always is good at Loetje.

Had a delicious lunch this afternoon. Super friendly service and compliments on the carpaccio sandwich and the goat cheese sandwiches. Thanks to the waiter for sending us a nice photo.

We had a delicious beef tenderloin with gravy. Order side dishes separately, as we shared: the sweet potato fries with aioli were tasty. Highly recommended for meat lovers. Reservations are recommended, as it got pleasantly busy, which the staff handled very well, by the way.

What an amazing restaurant! The service was top-notch! Friendly, helpful, and quick-witted! The food was superb. There were 10 of us and everyone got their food at the same time. So instead of laundry day on Monday, we had lunch at Loetje in Breda! We will definitely be back.

Quietly located on the outskirts of Breda. Large indoor and outdoor seating areas. The outdoor area is very quiet, with spacious tables. Many tables have parasols. Lovely view of the garden, romantic at sunset. There are many servers, all tending to multiple tables simultaneously. You can order from any of them. The selection is small but good. You can tell it's a steakhouse. The beef fillet was delicious! A variety of sauces and several side dishes are available as optional extras. Perfect for us. Unfortunately, the service became a bit lax towards the end, so we didn't order any more drinks because the servers stopped coming. A shame. But overall, it was a great evening and the food was delicious!

This is how a good steak should taste! Finger-licking good. Friendly and efficient service. It can be a bit noisy when busy.

We arrived there without having made a reservation and asked if there was a table available; there was, but this friendly man did mention that it might take longer. We agreed to that and sat down. Drinks were brought promptly, and once again, this man apologized for the delay, which wasn't actually that bad. We were served drinks and food; everything was neat and tidy. Mussels were delicious, steak and burger were the same; this restaurant is highly recommended. Special compliments to the staff and the friendly host, who, despite everything, kept everything running smoothly and efficiently. Thank you very much, until next time. You guys are the best. At the last minute, we decided to go to Loetje for dinner with my parents and family from Asia. I come here regularly for lunch, but this was the first time I had dinner here. Precisely because I know Loetje well, I know how hospitable the experience usually is. Unfortunately, the evening got off to a less pleasant start. The waitress who showed us to our table came across as very distant and uninterested. She didn't manage a smile, and we felt anything but welcome. Of course, I cannot judge why she came across that way, but her attitude did not give us a good feeling. That stood out even more because the rest of the team radiated the exact opposite. The two other ladies, and especially the waiter who brings the food to the table, were incredibly friendly, attentive, and hospitable. Thanks to them, the food and the rest of the service fortunately turned out to be a positive experience. That is precisely why it is such a shame that one employee negatively influenced the first impression and part of the atmosphere of the evening. Upon leaving, I even walked out through the passage to the parking lot behind the restaurant, purely to avoid the main entrance and not have to run into her again. I am not writing this review to attack anyone personally, but because I know that Loetje is capable of much better than this. One employee should not be allowed to ruin the experience that the rest of the team manages to deliver so well. I hope this feedback is taken up, because it would be a shame if the efforts of an otherwise great team were overshadowed by this. It was on a Monday, July 27, 2026.

Koetje is highly recommended. Fast service, beautifully presented, delicious food!!

We had lunch for two on a sunny Friday afternoon. Because of the lovely weather, we were able to sit on the terrace, with a view of (limited) greenery. Rattan chairs (unfortunately without cushions), so not suitable for sitting for a long time. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. I had a small “Roode Waard” tenderloin steak with bacon, onions, and liver. Served with extra fries and mayonnaise. I am a big eater, but this was really enough in terms of portion size. My girlfriend had lunch and went for a slightly more elaborate dessert, a Dame Blanche. I stuck to a cappuccino. The food was delicious, hot, and the steak was rare and tender. A very good place! Now all they need are cushions on the chairs, and I have nothing left to ask for.

Went out for dinner with friends; the steak was cooked perfectly and the gravy (we tasted from each other's plates) all tasted delicious. The garlic gravy is especially recommended! I had the Pink Pornstar Martini; unfortunately, it was a bit too sweet for me, but it went down very well.

As always, a top-notch steak, but very salty, especially the Loetje sauce. Lots of fries (too many) and a salad that was prepared without care! And one of the waitresses could have been a bit friendlier; a shame. Otherwise, top-notch.

Great place to eat a delicious steak! Probably due to a staff shortage, the wait was a bit too long, but still acceptable!

The first time we ate there. Immediately a pleasant experience. Fast, smooth, and good service. The food was what was promised. Delicious steak with gravy and tasty white casino bread. The starters were also better than expected. What I also really liked was the Loetje lemonade. I had the mango version. For dessert, I had a cappuccino with chocolates. A really nice way to end the meal.

It was incredibly busy, but the service was still super fast!! We had a delicious meal, didn't have to wait long, and location manager Danique has everything so well organized!! Yesterday, three of us went out for dinner at Loetje Breda. Unfortunately, our experience was mixed. Upon arrival, we had to wait quite a long time before we were assigned a table. Once we were finally seated, it took a while again before our drink orders were taken and we received the menu. Fortunately, the starter was served quickly and was very tasty. However, we found it a pity that the empty plates were only cleared away when the main course was served. They were in the way the whole time and several staff members seemed to see them, but no one took them away. The main course tasted fine, but the medium steak was clearly not medium. The meat was rather rare to even very red on the inside, which was a real shame (see photo for reference). After the main course, it took a long time again before the table was cleared. Then, without being asked if we wanted dessert, the dessert menu was immediately thrust into our hands. The dessert was tasty and, fortunately, was served quickly. All in all, the food tasted good, but unfortunately, the service left something to be desired. Due to the long waiting times, the late clearing of the table, and a steak that was not cooked to the desired doneness, the experience did not meet our expectations.

Simple and delicious is the best description for the food at Loetje: no fancy vegetables on your plate, no questionable sauces, just meat, gravy, and bread. And not just any meat, but a truly divinely tender piece with gravy that makes you want to pee on your tongue—so good, we’re going to do this more often 🥰

Today, my girlfriend and I are having an old-fashioned meal at Loetje. You could call us sort of regulars at Loetje. If you are planning to eat here, please skip this place and drive on to another branch. Here it comes: -Waitress, hope you read this, but get the sand out of your... what an unfriendly person you are. Well, fine, first drink arrives at the table. "Also the only drink offered to us all evening." What would you like to eat? Medium rare garlic, just like we always and everywhere order. Then a piece of rubber arrives at the table; I wouldn't even feed that to my dog. Keep in mind that the drinks are already finished by now, and you expect the question to come: "Did you want another drink?" but oh no. Halfway through my meal—and you can probably guess—a mouth like the Sahara because it is 25 degrees and I am chewing on a shoe sole, I decide to just walk to the bar myself. Can I have 2 Cokes? What is your table number? Madam, there are no numbers on the table.... Oh, I’ll just send someone over. Of course, no one ever came until we were finished eating and planning to head straight to the hotel, so we called for the bill. May I have the bill? Was everything to your liking? We explained in a mild way what we thought of this experience, but the waitress in question just sort of shrugged her shoulders and had the fantastic idea to ask if we wanted something to drink.. Well, uhh no, I want to leave, and right now... Okay, so you’re outside and you think you’ve had enough. We want to leave the parking lot, but that’s not possible because it’s closed off with a barrier. I went back into Loetje, where I stood waiting for 5 minutes until someone told me that I had to get a free ticket at the hotel next door. I was fuming with steam coming out of my ears at that hotel—you know where—I ended up in an asylum seekers' center... "not that this is a problem, but I just don't want to deal with it." I stood waiting in that hotel for 10 minutes because there were just visitors coming to visit family until I got a free pass. Now comes the icing on the cake: the security guard asked if I had a good meal, and I responded a bit sarcastically with "it was delicious." The gentleman told me that he regularly has dissatisfied customers standing in front of him. From start to finish, no one on the staff took responsibility, even if it was just in the sense of "oh, how annoying to hear this." Long story short: don't come here and just drive a bit further for a good branch. Leon

The food is tasty, the service is sweet and friendly, and the location is nice. It is a large restaurant, so it is a bit noisy for people who can't handle that.

Tasty steak in butter gravy. The steak was seasoned well, but the tableware is otherwise not refined. If you like slices of bread in melted butter, then this is the place for you. It is quite pricey, though. My further impression after a long wait for service and paying the bill is that Loetje is quite overrated. I don't have it so bad at home then.

I was invited to eat here twice in a short time. The food tastes good and the portion size is reasonable. It is a shame that you have to order fries or vegetables separately, for example. That makes it *secretly* quite pricey. Tip: it should be explicitly stated that you can also get the gravy separately. Tip: provide cutlery with fries, a small spoon with the mayonnaise, and cutlery with the salad that still needs to be stirred. That makes sharing easier. The service is confusing. There is a separate person to take drink orders, someone else to bring the drinks, someone to take food orders, someone to serve, someone to clear the empty plates, etc. As a guest, you have no idea who to approach to get things done. Moreover, they walk right past you, almost as if they are afraid you want something from them. Waiting times are long as a result, and Loetje is missing out on revenue here as well—either by having the people who are there consume extra, or by clearing the table for new guests faster. Tip: Assign each employee to a specific zone within which they manage the tables. A host/hostess distributes the guests among the tables. The guest has a single point of contact. Having separate people to serve drinks and clear dirty plates is fine. Tip: Actively indicate during seating that there is a QR code on the table allowing guests to order certain items by phone. Also, include a button in that system to get an employee to the table. The acoustics of the room are terrible. As soon as it fills up, you can no longer hear the people on the other side of your table. There are surely solutions for that. It would also be much nicer for the staff, because sitting in this room all evening was already tiring for me, let alone having to ensure people get the right food.

We eat at Loetje every month, sometimes twice a month, but yesterday, Sunday, June 21, 2026, everything was disappointing. For the second time in a few weeks, no Heineken beer because the tap was broken! Then the steaks arrived; we had ordered medium, both completely overcooked. The nice waitress took them back to the kitchen, and then we received the new steaks. Unfortunately, my steak and gravy were completely tasteless; what a letdown! Fortunately, the ice cream was good, but whether we will still come to Loetje every month is a big question, unfortunately!

Food and service really great. But the noise inside is really unpleasant. You can barely understand each other, but it is incredibly noisy.

It was super at Loetje again! We have now tasted all types of steak, and they are all favorites. It's nice that the staff considers us a favorite too! ;) That's why we received this nice card as a gift saying that we get 2 free desserts next time. Well, we will definitely be back!

Our evening got off to a rather unusual start. We arrived with our 2-year-old daughter and were assigned a table. However, no high chair was offered, meaning her view was limited to the wide wooden edge of the table, forcing her to subject the veneer to a thorough quality control check. Since we then tried to make contact with the staff for over 15 minutes without success, I eventually went to look for a high chair myself and started lugging it around the restaurant. After about 30 minutes, we started seriously wondering if we might have died on the way there without realizing it. When a waitress finally came to our table, I asked her if she would pinch me to check if we were still visible *and* in the here. In all the confusion, she almost actually considered doing it... 😅 After an hour-long wet bike ride (thanks, Rain Radar!), we were naturally very thirsty, so we just used the QR code we happened to find on the table. Unfortunately, the first glass arrived with a very clear imprint of someone's lips. It was as if the previous user had left a silent flirt for me. Perhaps meant romantically, but not quite what I expect with a clean glass. Fortunately, that was resolved quickly. The medium Bali steak, which according to the menu is the standard preparation, was rare rather than medium (see photo). The taste was fine, by the way, but if medium is your standard, you should expect that standard to be consistently met. Additionally, the noise level was downright impressive (video added). Anyone looking for an intimate dinner would be better off booking elsewhere. During our visit, the screaming concert didn't take a single break. Holding a normal conversation occasionally required the volume of a train station announcer. We felt like we had ended up in a luxury dining hall, where a good conversation with your table companion almost required a microphone. But... fair is fair: when we shared our experiences, it was handled incredibly well. Sincere apologies were offered, the first three drinks were on the house, and as an extra gesture, we were offered a plate of chocolates. We appreciate that enormously. Mistakes can be made anywhere, but it is the way they are handled that ultimately makes the difference. In the end, despite everything, we had a fun birthday and, above all, had a good laugh. A tasty steak, an unexpected lip print, a spontaneous search for a high chair, an existential crisis regarding our visibility, and a noise level that allows you to enjoy the deafening silence at home for a little while longer afterwards. Thank you for the special birthday experience. We won't forget it anytime soon. 🫣

I really love Loetje but this time I didn’t leave happy. We waited almost 1,5 hours to eat. Even with the reservation, we waited at the entrance 5-10 minutes to be seated. Also our waitress wasn’t very kind. Sorry but with these prices, it was a weak performance.

As mentioned earlier in other reviews, the gravy was extremely salty, the steak was in 2 pieces (how many grams?), the service was very disorganized, inexperienced (I even had a glass of rosé spilled all over me; as compensation, I was given a few napkins to dab it dry😭; I reported this at the reception but was dismissed with a laugh). No more Loetje for me; the name is bigger than what you are served.

The other steak was super! I had asked for the garlic gravy (served separately in a sauce bowl), and also wanted it served on warm plates, and that was accommodated! Additionally, the mixed salad, which was well-stocked by the way, and the super tasty fries (a bit too much mayonnaise) (:) but that doesn't spoil the fun. In a word, we will be back here. Loetje *is* steak!! Been there a few times. Always top-notch, and of course, the 300 grams with the sambal jus. Delicious.

The food and atmosphere were fine, but for a truly complete evening out, you really should stay here until you pay the bill. There, you get about 30 minutes of free entertainment: a supervisor who is busier directing staff, texting his manager, and arguing about menu prices than resolving a few Albert Heijn vouchers that were difficult to scan. Naturally, you get to watch this happen. Efficiency seems to be more of a concept than a skill here. Only when we indicated we were leaving could it suddenly be "arranged afterwards." By then, our party was already in Oisterwijk. The food was fine, but the service takes customer unfriendliness to a new level.

Best steak in town! A real treat every time!

The food is truly always fantastic. This was delicious again. We hadn't made a reservation, but a spot became available after half an hour. The service was good, but the table can accommodate a lot of guests, so they have to spread their attention out. Because of this, the atmosphere is also just a little less vibrant, possibly also because the acoustics are slightly poor. But all in all, it was truly another lovely evening out for dinner with very good (plenty of) food.

Restaurant with little flair, the steak looks cremated, the gravy which is supposed to be so "fantastic" is far too salty and tastes like it was rolled straight out of a packet; a real shame. I won't be coming here a second time.

The food and drinks were fantastic. Excellent tenderloin with a delicious garlic jus. The staff was friendly, and there was plenty of parking. The only downside is the acoustics. The sound is overwhelming, making it difficult to follow conversations. Keep up the good work, Loetje, we'll be back.

We had a wonderful meal at Loetje Breda on Wednesday evening. The food was delicious, but quite pricey... Upon arrival, we were helped quite quickly and shown to a table, where a very nice young man seemed to really enjoy his work. Despite the busy schedule, he seemed to still have time for everyone and their needs! You should keep this one! The drinks took a while, but were brought by a very friendly gentleman. I'd like to thank these guys and the rest of the team again for a wonderful evening! We'll definitely be back!

I found the experience disappointing. Loetje was nowhere distinctive. Steak over €40 (I had the XXL of 300g), was tasty but certainly not distinctive. The gravy with the steak made up for it a bit. By the way, we got two slices of bread with it to mop up, which looked rather poor. Meals very simple, no garnish and no side dishes, everything has to be ordered separately. Fries as an extra order in some kind of old-fashioned soup plate. Dessert was a nice surprise, I had the dessert from Loetje, it was tasty and looked neat. Service didn't make the difference. They came to take our order with dirty plates from another table, I saw that happened to others as well. Most of it was meh. First time and last time.

What a huge place. So big, more like a glorified diner. We had to wait a long time for a table even though we had a reservation. The bar was full of people eating, so we stood between the tables... Lots of staff, mostly English-speaking. Asking us to please speak English too, well... Little attention was paid to us as customers. It took a long time for our orders to be taken, both for drinks and food. The grilled vegetables were a greasy mess, fried before serving. The hamburger was cold when it was served. The plate of fries for four people was a bit skimpy. We weren't asked how we wanted our steak cooked. Later, I spoke with a staff member after our comments, and she indicated that it was indeed unexpectedly extremely busy. Well, we certainly noticed. It was the first and last time for us. P.S. Our steak was delicious and tender, by the way.

For New Year's, we opted for a tender slice of beef after all; we made the right choice by coming here. ✅ I chose the “Beef Tenderloin Steak De Roode Waard (Classic)” and once again, made the right choice. ✅ The steak 🥩 itself was deliciously tender and flavorful. The chicken liver 🐓 was also tasty, and I recommend taking it in the same bite in combination with a crispy, salty piece of bacon 🥓. 💯 You also definitely shouldn't forget to make the most of the delicious layer of gravy the steak is bathing in. 🛁 This gives you a great opportunity to dip your bread 🍞 into it, for example. I also ordered and downed a few of the “Loetje’s Blond” beers 🍻. This certainly contributed to the optimal enjoyment of this tender 🥩 treat.

A very good meal in a lovely, cozy setting. The risotto was amazing, the sweet potato fries were delicious, and the burger had a quality meat patty. The desserts were generous and very tasty. The only slight downside was that the fries were extra on top of the already €19.50 burger, but otherwise, the dishes were very good.
