You can really enjoy a delicious meal here for a reasonable price. It can get quite busy at times, though.

A nicely decorated restaurant in a great location, though a bit crowded. The food is exactly what you'd expect; steak is the specialty and is perfectly prepared. The price is reasonable for what you get. It's a great experience and excellent if you're looking for something casual to eat.

Very bad service of expensive, mediocre food.

We reserved a table for 6:15 pm. We were promptly shown to our table. Then we waited over 20 minutes to order a drink and look at the menu. No service in sight! Guests who came in after us were helped. So, only one conclusion: get up and leave. They'll NEVER see us again.

Known for their steak. And they certainly lived up to their reputation. We had a delicious steak with garlic jus. It was incredibly filling, though... Easily accessible with ample parking. Just outside Breda. Busy for a Thursday night. Quite crowded. The food is definitely recommended.

Things are getting shady now. I have to use my phone flashlight to read the menu. We weren't asked how we wanted our steak. It came with the wrong gravy and was way too raw. The fries were cold/lukewarm, limp, and greasy. I poured my beer and immediately went to bed. I've had different experiences here before. Such a shame!

A fantastic evening at Loetje! On a Wednesday evening: busy, for sure—but everything went very smoothly! Despite the crowd, we got a table for two after a five-minute wait, and the lady who served us at the counter was fantastic! Everything was perfectly organized and served with a smile. The steak zero was, as always, wonderfully tender, cooked perfectly, with fries and salad—perfect. In short: Loetje Breda is busy for a reason. Delicious food, a great atmosphere, and a friendly team.

Great food, too few staff and very noisy

A restaurant-style restaurant. Crowds are crowded. Tables are close together. Despite it being a Saturday night, my colleague and I were still able to get a table for two. Tenderloin steak...sounds special to me...they're two very different cuts of meat, in terms of quality. It's either steak or tenderloin...but oh well. We ordered the sauce separately so we could properly assess the meat. One side of fries was more than enough for the two of us. We also ordered the chicken livers. Super tender, delicious with it. The steak was very tender, so definitely good quality. I don't think it was tenderloin, because that's generally more tender. But the quality is excellent, and you don't get them like that very often. The famous gravy. Flavorful but incredibly salty. A bit too much of a good thing for my taste. The price is okay. Quite expensive, but good quality. It's very noisy, and you can just about carry on a conversation without shouting. But the first time with Loetje was good.

Approx a year ago I had a nice evening, I enjoyed the gravy of the Bali steak. The international staff was nice and kept on smiling.

A huge mess, what a racket. Really tired of the noise. The food is mediocre and overpriced for what you get. Tasteless carpaccio. We both ordered steak and weren't asked how we wanted it. One got a large, thick steak, and I got two small cubes of gravy. I suspect it came from a jar; it was mostly salty. No, never again. The staff varied; most were good and friendly, but one was from a completely different planet.

Great service, and of course, the delicious garlic Loetje. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there were a lot of young children there who were being noisy. Otherwise, it was a fantastic experience. If you really love a good piece of meat, you have to try Loetje!

We recently dined at Loetje Breda with six people, including one child. The steak was delicious, accompanied by generous portions of fries and salad. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was good, though a bit noisy due to the number of tiles on the pillars. The cheesecake was delicious. The large piece of apple pie was less delicious. I definitely recommend Loetje Breda!

First time at Loetje Breda, and also the last. A long line out the door, despite having a reservation. No parking spots left. The steak was incredibly small. I ordered rare and got medium. It was swimming in gravy. Friends who ordered a larger steak received two small ones. The service was minimal, so I didn't get my red wine until I'd already finished my steak. The grilled vegetables were far too small for the price. We wanted to order a final round, but there was no service, so we ended up asking for the bill. What a wasteland, I won't be going back.

The food was great, as always, but the service was really bad... we were simply forgotten (the waitress said "oh yeah" and then came to us... ridiculous) and had to wait ages for someone to come to us, and then wait a long time for our order to arrive... I understand it was busy that day, but we had a reservation and still had to wait for a seat. Which is strange, because that's what you make a reservation for. For the money you pay, you should expect some kind of service in return, right? This is a shame.

Had a delicious meal (steak and satay) and super good service, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

It is indeed noisy, the steak was tasty, unfortunately the service took a long time, probably due to staff shortage.

In my opinion, we didn't get enough for what we paid. The food was good, but the service left much to be desired. Even though we had reservations, we still had to wait a while before being seated. Offering a drink while we waited would have been appropriate. At the end, we wanted to pay and approached a staff member. She told us it wasn't her job and that we had to wait until our waitress came to us, after which she simply went on her way without helping us or calling her colleague. We found this very unfriendly and unprofessional.

Let me start by saying that the steak is simply delicious—that's what you come here for, after all. What I do find disappointing is that the portions are absolutely awful. The smallest steak is bigger than the medium... Also, apparently, they're adding a hefty sum to the bill. First, they complain about the portion size, even though it's correctly stated and registered in the system, then they're messing around with the bill because it's completely inaccurate. Furthermore, it's really expensive.

Good food. But the tenderloin is swimming in the greasy gravy. Too much. The salad is served on separate plates to share. How so? Are you supposed to put that on your plate in the greasy gravy? It's probably all part of the concept, but for me, just keep it normal.

We had a wonderful meal. This restaurant's specialty is the steak. It's cooked to perfection and served on a plate brimming with gravy. They also offer white and red. We also ordered apple compote, onions, and fries. Everything comes in generous portions. The desserts are generous too. I highly recommend the sticky toffee. The service is very friendly. Drinks arrive promptly after ordering. Everything was excellent!

Staying at the hotel next door and decided to eat here with it being a steak restaurant, we had our dog with us and it wasn't a problem taking him in, as usual he just flopped down under the table until we were ready to leave. If I'm honest whilst it does steak I wouldn't describe it as a steak restaurant as they only do one type of steak but in various weights and choice of juices/jus. I chose the XL steak and it was very good, though I'd have preferred a little more burn on the outside, but that didn't detract from the quality, oddly is was served in a pool of cooking juices along with bread to soak it up which I actually enjoyed. My wife chose the chicken satay kebab with a portion of fries, the kebab was very tasty and the fries were more than enough for 2 people, neither of us were overly keen on the satay sauce as whilst it was tasty it was far too thick. Would I eat here again, yes but I don't think it would be my first choice as I'd prefer a bigger range of cuts of steak too choose from, but it's definitely worth trying if you're staying in the Novotel

We had the Thai soup as a starter, highly recommended, so delicious! Both the poke bowl and the chicken skewers were also delicious. The service was friendly and fast.

The steak quality is good. The gravy is mostly buttery, which takes away the good flavor. The atmosphere is otherwise pleasant.

I also had the garlic tenderloin steak here. I had it a week earlier at Loetje Laren. I liked it, but it wasn't cooked quite as well as in Laren. I give Laren a 10 and this one an 8.8. The outside was slightly better cooked and seasoned in Laren. The location was great, but because of the possibility of wasps, I opted to eat inside. The decor could be a bit more inviting there.

They always say you can eat the best steak in the Netherlands at Loetje. Well, as far as I'm concerned, a resounding YES. The various preparation methods are also a delight for your taste buds. We'll be back soon ☺️

We had a delicious steak with bacon and chicken livers...even on Wednesday it was still quite busy...so it is always advisable to make a reservation.

On Saturday, August 16th, my wife and I went here for lunch. We had a voucher from an Albert Heijn promotion. We were given a rather flimsy, tiny steak, which was "threw" down on the table in front of us by an unfriendly waitress who clearly didn't want to eat it at all. We'd deliberately asked for the gravy on the side in a bowl. That way you could really taste the steak. That was a huge disappointment! Unfortunately, the steak tasted like liver, so it had been sitting out too long and simply wasn't fresh anymore. Absolutely not good. So, we're done with Loetje Breda. That's the last time. What a poor way to use an Albert Heijn promotion!

We had a wonderful meal. We chose the Loetje classic steak, delicious with gravy, vegetables, and salad. For dessert, we had coffee with Loetje and Damblanche. Loetje is definitely worth recommending.

First time at Loetje. Expectations were higher than the taste. A regular piece of meat in a ton of gravy. The gravy was quite tasty. The fries were good with plenty of (tasty) tangy Belgian mayonnaise.

We spent a week in Breda and discovered this stunning building right next to our hotel. I looked it up and found out it’s a restaurant with a rich history. We had also seen their location in Rotterdam, so on our last day we booked a table and went. Their signature dish is the steak — and it is absolutely outstanding! Juicy, perfectly cooked, with a sauce worth savoring to the very last drop. They even bring unlimited freshly baked bread so you can soak up that heavenly sauce… and trust me, you won’t leave a trace on the plate. Honestly, all you need to order is the steak with a side of fries. The place itself is beautiful, the atmosphere warm, and the flavor of that steak is still etched in my memory. An experience you simply can’t miss!

Yesterday we went to dinner with eight people. Normally, there are three of us, but we told friends about Loetje and took them there. Five of the eight dishes were cold, so I spent €245 on the meat and gravy, which is a waste. Next time, we'll just go to Eindhoven; I've never had any complaints there.

Beautiful location! There were four of us, and of course, I ordered a steak, the 195-gram Bali steak. It was €25. It felt a bit small to me, but it's a good thing I didn't choose the smallest size. Honestly, it was delicious!! The gravy was the same, finger-licking good. Besides the steak, you have to order fries and salad separately. Along with a few drinks, it was a hefty bill, and I wonder if it was even reasonable. What I did find problematic was the noise. It's truly enormous. The acoustics are terrible. There's nothing to absorb sound. The floor is hard, the ceiling too, the walls too. There's virtually no upholstery. When you put a lot of people in such a space, the only way to make yourself heard is to speak even louder. And that's what happened. We went home with ringing ears. In that respect, I wouldn't recommend it. The waitress who was watching our table did a great job. Drinks were brought by others, and the service was rude, asking us to pass our own drinks, and so on. In short: quite expensive, way too noisy, and the service so-so. We won't be going there again.

It was one of the best restaurants I've been to in the Netherlands. It could have been the best steak I've ever had. Everyone was so sweet and cute. Even though we weren't dressed very well, they always gave us a place to sit. There was no smell. The service was pretty fast. The dessert was also very nice.🥩🐄🐂😊

Delicious steak lunch with fries, salad and on request also bread was served. We used the discount coupons for this but there was no sign of that given the size of the portions. And it was delicious, good steak in a delicious gravy. Crispy fries and delicious fresh salad. The portions of fries and salad could be smaller with the possibility to order more. Now a lot went back.

Too expensive to be worth repeating. For 2 people for just a main course and some drinks 85 euros. Starters and desserts were not really appealing because of the price. The menu had a limited choice anyway. The steak with gravy was fine, very tasty.

Not satisfied with Loetje Breda. It was very busy, which meant that we had to wait a while when we arrived because the tables had not yet been cleaned. Once we were at a table, both drinks and food took a very long time. The fries were half raw. Our food did not arrive at the same time either. As you can hopefully understand, this caused some tension and did not contribute to a pleasant evening. Other guests who arrived (a lot) later were, to our surprise, served food earlier. The above was indicated and also neatly resolved by the wait staff through a discount. We do wonder whether fewer tables should be taken or more staff. It seems to us to be very hard work that is not in proportion to the workload. The employee in question also indicated when asked how busy it was for her that she was "devastated", which says something... A manager on the floor to streamline the process to both guests, staff and total quality/quantity is therefore a critical point of feedback. Unfortunately, we will not quickly choose the Breda branch together again.

I think it's great at Loetje Breda, a slightly different atmosphere than in The Hague, I personally think it's a bit cozier. The food is good everywhere, no matter which Loetje you choose. I always intend to have a dessert after the steak, I never manage... I'm completely full! Apple sauce is also very tasty after the steak 🤩🤩🤩

Been here twice now. And both times we had a great meal! From delicious starters like their beef carpaccio or smoked salmon with wonton to of course the dish they are known for: the steak. Delicious! The steak is always cooked perfectly, and the gravy tastes fantastic. My favourite: the sambal gravy! You also get white bread with it to dip it in the gravy. But one comment: you also get toasted white bread with the carpaccio. And that with the steak. You also get a huge portion of fries with the steak (if you order fries with it of course) and there is also (too) much mayonnaise for our taste. But what I want to say: all in all it is already very nutritious, which is why a dessert is often just a bit too much. Last Saturday we also ordered the Loetje classic steak with a group of friends, almost all of us, but with this only 1 of us got a nice sized steak in 1 piece. The rest got 2 smaller steaks. A bit of a shame in a way, but it doesn't change the taste, fortunately. Loetje is not cheap, we spent 300 euros with 4 people, but we all had 3 courses, 2 glasses of wine per person and enjoyed it very much. The biggest point of criticism of this particular branch of Loetje is the parking facilities. They are mediocre. A fairly small parking lot, a few places in front of the door and the rest have to park on the adjacent road. So you have to be lucky to find a decent parking space. Apart from that, it is recommended. But they must throw away so many slices of bread every day...

Had a nice piece of meat in a nice location

Just a quick bite to eat, nothing special.

My lunch was really great, especially the tomato soup. For me it is worth an extra detour.

What a disgrace. We entered and were assigned a table, but then the service disappeared without asking anything. In the meantime, guests who arrived later were immediately helped with a drink and an order. We had been sitting for ten minutes without anyone looking at us. Then those same guests – who arrived later – got their main course earlier, while we still hadn't had our starter. And when it finally arrived, there was a hair in the carpaccio... During the meal, people walked past us several times without even noticing that our glasses were empty. No one asked if we wanted another drink. The service was uninterested and not at all alert. The food (apart from the hair) was fine, but the overall experience was downright bad. Service makes or breaks your evening, and in this case it completely ruined our evening. We left with a good dose of grumpiness. Not a second time for us.

The quality of the food was fine. The portions of fries are large. The only downside is that they put an awful lot of mayonnaise on the same plate. I can't imagine that there are people who eat it all. Waste of money

May 15th with my husband ate at your place, the food was delicious but everything was served so quickly 45 minutes we had consumed the starter, main course and cappuccino, so there could have been a lot more time in between. We had originally planned to come with friends but then there is no question of a nice after-dinner chat. So unfortunately.

Unfortunately very substandard. There was not enough staff so you had to wait a very long time before you got your table and a long wait for your drinks and food. You really had to make an effort to get the attention of the staff. The food was not served at the same time, so the steak (cold plate) was cold before everyone had their plate. The "salad" was a whole head of lettuce cut in half. You can't go wrong with fries. It was a blob of mayonnaise on a platter with fries on top. We ordered extra bread, it never came. I understand the concept, but for that price you can eat better elsewhere. The waitress we had did her best. She couldn't do anything about this either.

Nice food, steak could be served warmer. Side dishes varied, fries were good, 4 sandwiches were meager for 3 people. The intern who had to cut the lettuce had a bad day, with very hard veins. Bad acoustics, it was inside a chicken coop! The gravy is heavenly tasty, but probably not very healthy... 😉 Desserts absolutely fantastic! We were still hungry after the main course and did not regret the desserts, which made up for a lot!

Had a delicious meal at Loetje on Mother's Day. Upon arrival, the mothers received a glass of prosecco on the house, very nice. The lunch was delicious with Loetje's famous steak.

I absolutely do not share these opinions below. The bad one then! Last Saturday, April 26, on King's Day, we went for a bite to eat to celebrate my birthday. We had actually made a reservation at half past six, but were there at a quarter to five, we were allowed to sit down and order (super nice). We were received very friendly and neatly taken to our table, the young man even indicated when there was a dismount, which is what I call extremely guest friendly! This young man was looking forward to his work. Then our drinks were taken and delivered very quickly. Our food was also taken and it was also prepared and delivered quickly. We had a delicious meal. It was our first time and we are huge steak eaters, but this was a different experience and we enjoyed it just as much. Delicious full gravy and a good medium rare steak. What I highly recommend was Loetje's dessert. This was with airy pistachio mouse and pistachio ice cream, as a pistachio lover, you couldn't make me happier!! You will definitely see us again!

Had a great experience at Lootje Breda! The food was delicious, especially the way the meat was prepared—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. You can really tell they put care into their ingredients and presentation. The atmosphere was also very welcoming. Definitely a great place to visit however it's bit on an expensive side..

Had a lovely lunch today. The staff was incredibly friendly and also knew how to deal with my elderly grandmother, even though she is not the easiest person to deal with. The food was delicious as usual, with the Oreo Cheesecake to finish!

Steak nothing to complain about, but... Terribly noisy, we fled immediately after the main course. Really not possible!

Read many reviews but I do not share these opinions. It was busy, but if you're having a night out, it wouldn't be a problem to wait a while and have a nice drink (with bitterbal) at the bar, right? The food was delicious and the service really does their best to help you as quickly as possible. In short, we were very satisfied and had a wonderful evening. Worth repeating!

Food and service top, for atmosphere only 4 stars because of a lot of noise in the restaurant; this is due to noisy people that Loetje cannot do anything about, but a lot of hard materials and open spaces are used, which means that the sound is barely muffled.

Fading glory. Not worthy of Loetje. There was no reception upon arrival so we had to wait there for a long time. Then a blonde girl who says she will be there soon but just leaves you standing in the cold of the door for 10 minutes and starts taking orders everywhere with a very angry look of stress. Making a reservation is of no use, because upon arrival we had to wait 25 minutes at the bar. What nerve. 35 minutes passed and finally had a drink at the table. 10 minutes later we were allowed to order, 45 minutes inside and that's what you make a reservation for!? Ordered steak, got 2 dirty old white tough hard sandwiches with it. There was nothing special about the steak either, at the supermarket they taste the same. Because you add some gravy it is special? The side dishes also only came after the main course was finished. And then asking 100 euros is almost criminal. We had 2 drinks for hours because we couldn't order more due to a shortage of staff. The staff didn't speak Dutch either. Don't come, once and never again. Luckily my date gives me another chance at a better place because you almost ruined it for me. Amateur hour. Don't come.

The service was great, luckily we reserved a table as it can get crowded. The meat was great but there were also other vegetarian options.

I had 300g of steak for lunch. I didn't ask how well it was cooked, but it was cooked just right for eating. I was in Breda for a business meeting for lunch, and this is right next to the Best Novotel Hotel, and it has its own free parking lot, and it's a very beautiful restaurant.

Came in and were served well. It was fine until after the starter. However, then my girlfriend's main course and all my side dishes arrived. After 5 minutes we asked where the food was. I then had to say what I had ordered and it took another 15 minutes before I got my burnt steak. The steak itself was good, but they had burned it so I had to cut pieces off. I also received an apology once. In short, good for a drink, but I no longer recommend eating after this experience.

Nice restaurant and friendly service. We had a delicious steak and we will definitely come back here again. We had an AH voucher and there is nothing to criticize about the experience.
