Loetje Huizen in Wijk 05 Havengebied

The restaurant is a beautiful old building in a lovely spot on the harbor in Huizen, near the locally famous lime kilns. There's a terrace, and the interior is also cozy, at least the two rooms on the far left and right sides of the building. There's also a kind of connecting room, which I didn't like; I found it a bit colder and less inviting. The service is mostly friendly, except for one somewhat surly woman, but not everyone was equally attentive. The food was good. Loetje is best known for its steak, but I'm not a fan of that, so I ordered chicken satay with fries on the side. The satay was well-seasoned, and the fries were generously scooped. They did come with mayo underneath the fries, which I would have preferred in a separate container. Especially if you're sharing with someone, I prefer that. The chicken satay came with a small salad, so I didn't have to order that separately, which is a nice bonus. All in all, a decent restaurant with reasonable prices in an attractive location.

I had a dinner with my wife, we enjoyed it. Stuff was very friendly, service was good, had a good time there. We ordered 2 steaks, one of them was good but other one was a bit raw, had to ask making it at least medium, they fixed the issue quickly.

My grandpa always made the best steak in the world. Now I only eat steak at Loetje. I've been to several locations and always had delicious food and a great atmosphere!

The menu listed a 0.0 steak, and we wanted to order 4 at 5:30 PM on a Saturday night. There were only 3! The manager gave us a weak explanation about the daily freshness and limited purchasing, but no further service. We ordered a large salad without bacon. We received a small salad with bacon. It turned out it also contained eggs, which is something to be proud of when two-thirds of our group ordered and requested only vegan products. The restaurant was also quite cold. In short, not a success. There was one bright spot: the woman who served us for most of the evening was very friendly and professional, and she did receive a tip.

Both the tuna steak and the regular steak were bathed in delicious gravy. The side fries and warm vegetables were also delicious. Highly recommended!

Loetje is a lovely location by the harbor in Huizen. The standard recipe is the same as everywhere else. It's a matter of taste, of course. There are better options if you like this type of steak, but for the price, it's perfectly fine. The service was excellent, although the wait times were a bit long due to peak hour. The atmosphere is a bit too noisy.

Not only is dinner fantastic at Loetje, but the wide variety of lunch sandwiches is also excellent! We'll definitely be back.

We had a wonderful meal at Loetje Huizen — the steak was exactly what you'd expect (you wouldn't expect it, would you? 😉). The desserts were also excellent: fresh, creamy, and perfect to round off the meal. A cozy atmosphere!

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with how we were received today. We were two people and wanted to sit at a table for four, as the tables for two are small. A young man had to inquire, and no, it wasn't possible. Several couples were sitting at a table for four. Later, while we were eating, two people came in and were seated at a table for four. How unusual is that? We were asked what we wanted to order. We ordered the steak. We weren't asked what gravy we wanted it with. So I said, "Don't ask what gravy we wanted it with." We told the person what we wanted, and yes, I did write it down, thankfully. Then he walked away. It was strange that they didn't ask how we wanted the steak cooked. An incompetent person who really had to walk around. We felt it was a shame that it turned out this way. I've been here monthly in the past few months, and the experience has been very good. I sat outside on the terrace and ate there every time. This was the first time I sat inside, the staff was different, and unfortunately, I had a less pleasant experience.

I dined at Loetje with a group of colleagues on a company outing. The food is good quality, and the atmosphere is cozy. The tuna steak I chose was perfectly cooked, and the overall taste was perfect. For dessert, I had the pineapple and white chocolate cheesecake. I highly recommend both!

Delicious, tender steak with fries and salad, topped with gravy. It doesn't get any better than this... just do it a few times a year. Then you'll remember why you eat meat...highly recommended!! Not cheap, but worth it!! Free parking on-site!

Edit: This time it was mussels and fries. The mussels were fine, but there were no sauces other than the "bali jus," which tasted fine. Fries should be served with a small bowl of mayonnaise, not pata, which is served with mayonnaise. It's perfectly acceptable for the price. The high tables are too small and too close together. We'll pass on that next time. Great food, good steaks, and a poke bowl.

Last Saturday I celebrated my 50th birthday at Loetje Huizen. What a fantastic evening it was! A huge compliment to the manager and his team. We'll definitely see you again.

The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff were wonderful! They listened to our wishes, and I can honestly say I had a fantastic evening.

There's nothing wrong with the steak. Exceptional. But the tables for two are very close together. Very uncomfortable. Fortunately, after requesting a table for four, we were given one.

We were looking forward to a lovely evening. The staff were very unfriendly. The food didn't come as ordered, but we were charged in full. We only got one drink and weren't asked for anything else. We were left with half-eaten plates and empty glasses. Overall, not recommended at all.

Nice location and lovely terrace. We only had a glass of wine, and it tasted fine. It's a shame we couldn't catch a smile from the staff. The two gentlemen didn't seem particularly interested in their work. So, one star for the location and one star for the delicious wine.

The waitress was rather slow to catch on. She couldn't find drinks and asked for dessert when we removed the starter, but forgot to ask how we wanted our steak cooked. We ordered one round of drinks in total, and no one ever came for the second. When we mentioned this to the waiter, they said they were short-staffed. Meanwhile, the waitress had already been serving us for half a long time, making drinks and smoking on the (same) terrace, before heading home. As compensation, the waitress offered us the long-awaited cup of coffee, but since we'd been waiting 20 minutes for the bill and over an hour for that one, we declined. The only Loetje experience we had that evening was the high bill at the end of the meal. 1 star.

Fantastic restaurant, there were nine of us there. The food was perfect. The portions were more than ample. Unfortunately, we had a medical emergency towards the end, but the staff was very helpful and assisted us with everything they could. In the end, everything turned out well. Really great!

Starter: salmon on wonton, followed by the main course: De Roode Waard (onions, steak, and bacon), delicious with fries and mayonnaise, and finished with a crème brûlée dessert. Delicious food, friendly staff, and all this in the harbor of Huizen.

No one even looks at you, even though the restaurant is barely crowded and you have to wait to be seated. After five minutes, we were gone. And we'll never know if we missed something. There wasn't even a menu at the entrance. Maybe it's actually delicious and cozy.

voor ons de EERSTE keer in deze Loetje! het was afgeladen vol, maar er werd een tafeltje voor ons geregeld, supergoede sfeer, leuk publiek, GEWELDIGE bediening, en natuurlijk heeeeerlijk eten en keigoede wijn (Garnasche) Complimenten voor deze sfeervolle Loet.. nu gaan wij niet ALLEEN maar naar Loetje Bergen, maar ook naar Loetje Huizen.. voor ons 2 allerbeste loetjes!

Great food, service was not in a good mood this time 🫣

After a lovely day of sailing, we were really craving a delicious steak from Loetje. It turned out the kitchen closes about an hour and a half before closing time (the chef wanted to enjoy the nice weather a bit longer). When we asked if we could order another steak, we were given a resounding "no." We found this rather odd, considering we'd received very friendly service the last time. Apparently, company policy has changed, but the waiter, covered in tattoos, forgot to mention it. Now, you might think, "Gosh, two stars is quite generous," and the beer was delicious.

Unfortunately, the service was mediocre. Lots of staff who were very friendly and chatty, both during and outside of work hours. We felt like we were in a pub instead of a restaurant.

It's a great location with beautiful weather, but the service is appalling. They'd rather see you leave than come in. A lot of revenue is lost because tables aren't cleared and the service isn't friendly or attentive. It's a shame, because you can sit here by the harbor in beautiful weather.

This time we had a good meal. The tenderloin was excellent and cooked perfectly. The rest was also excellent, but the salad wasn't quite up to par. But that would be an exception.

We had a delicious meal before the walk, the service was excellent and the staff were friendly.

We were put in the back corner and then had to wait over 30 minutes for our first drink. We both had the beef tenderloin bali, which was incredibly (too) salty. The price/quality ratio was far below par.

Loetje Huizen, like Loetje Almere or anywhere else, is a bit dull. It's not my cup of tea, unfortunately. There used to be another restaurant at this location that I found more inviting. That atmosphere is what I missed. It's business-like, but not cozy. I had croquettes on bread, so I can't go wrong with that. But for business meetings or lunch, this is a great location.

Like all Loetjes, it's overpriced, but this one takes the cake when it comes to service. They're inattentive, go straight to (something else) and don't look into the shop at waving customers. I had to walk to the bar several times because the staff were busy with each other instead of the customers.

Voor de lunch gingen we voor een keertje naar Loetje in Huizen. Mijn man wilde een 12-uurtje maar lust geen vis. Bij dat 12-uurtje zat namelijk tonijnsalade. Na een vraag of er een alternatief was, immers is mijn man niet de enige die geen vis lust, kregen we als antwoord dat er een plakje kaas als vervanging kon. Dus geen filet American of een eiersalade o.i.d. gewoon een plakje kaas. En dat voor 14.50. Uit eindelijk maar voor 2 kroketten op brood gekozen. Vind het ronduit beschamend dat er als vervanging "slechts" een plakje kaas kon. Voor de rest prima gegeten.

Great food, only very messy service. Constantly serving at wrong tables, while there are signs with numbers on each table. Never asked for an extra round of drinks. Terrace was not busy at that moment.

Yesterday we had a small party with family and friends and it was very well taken care of (coffee with cake - 12 o'clock and various drinks). Very "large" cakes, nice 12 o'clock and regularly a round was made regarding the drinks. Service was great (especially from employee Nemo). Location was also great... due to the heat, doors were open and we also had a private terrace outside. We already know where we will have our next party!

On Ascension Day we went here for dinner. We were a family with 2 teenagers and 1 toddler. The service was great despite it being really busy. The food was really good (as always). The only point was that 1 steak was overcooked, but when we reported this to the service, they immediately fixed it and we got a whole new steak. All in all a delicious meal in a super nice restaurant with very friendly staff.

Super bad. I had made a reservation and indicated that I would come with a wheelchair. The table was not taken into account. After 15 minutes still no waiter. People after us were helped. We left. No reaction at all from the staff. Super bad. We also saw other people waiting for a long time. Staff very uninterested. First and last time we have been here

We have been coming to Loetje for over 30 years, once in Amsterdam Zuid before Johannes van Dam wrote: The best steak in Amsterdam. In all those years we have eaten with pleasure and good food at several Loetje locations. The service has been above average all those years. Since Loetje has been located in Huizen we have regularly eaten well there and the service has also been good. Today it was unfortunately completely different. We arrived at 18:35, ordered drinks and food at 18:40. The drinks were brought quickly, but at 19:15 we asked when our food would be coming. The waiter would ask. A little later we asked someone else again, who later said that it would be coming in 5 minutes. When it was finally brought it was 19:30. People who sat next to us and arrived later had already finished their main course. I was quite hungry, so I started my steak right away on the smallest steak. All the outsides turned out to be bone dry and the inside slightly pink. This is not the usual medium rare that is always served. I left most of the steak. When I was asked if it was tasty, I told the waiter that the steak was overcooked. He replied that this was always the case at the edges, to which I replied that the edges were very thick, more than 2 cm. His reply was: Sorry, I will pass it on. And that was it. The wine glasses were still covered in lipstick from the previous customer twice! A very disappointing evening for me. But I didn't order dessert because the dinner was already ruined for me. By the way, we weren't the only ones, two tables next to us were two ladies who were served cold steaks. In short, a bad turn for Loetje this evening!

Delicious food. Had to wait a bit longer for service at first but it was made up for. Had a great steak in the nice atmosphere of the harbour of Huizen. Really recommended.

We zijn samen met ons gezin uit eten om een verjaardag te vieren. We beslenden een fles rode wijn, er werd een verkeerde fles rode wijn gebracht. (Kan gebeuren) De bekende biefstukjes die we bestelden waren heerlijk. Onze kinderen bestelden een pokebowl met vis. 1 daarvan was niet fris. Dit hebben we doorgegeven aan de bediening. Ze hoorden ons aan maar deden er verder niets mee. Onder de bediening werd er over en weer naar elkaar niet vriendelijk gedaan. Dit was merkbaar. Bij het dessert bestelden we een cocktail, deze werd incompleet geserveerd, dit gaven we door aan de bediening. Zij gaven aan, zo schenken we dit. Bij het afrekenen hebben we opnieuw aangegeven dat 1 hoofdmenu (Pokébowl met vis, niet goed was) reactie van de ober was; oh dat is vervelend . Rekenende af en groette ons goeienavond Voor ons was dit niet een plek om vaker uit eten te gaan. Niet echt een fijne ervaring.

Unfortunately not a good experience. First of all got the wrong wine but that was quickly changed after a comment. Food is 'bare' but tasty except for the poke bowl salmon. This did not taste fresh but after reporting this nothing was done about it. And when paying it was not even reported. This is really not okay! That is why food only 1 star and the service ditto. Atmosphere is okay... but unfortunately not worth repeating.

Loetje, known for its steak and now also for its high prices. We ate here after a sailing trip. The location of the restaurant is beautiful at the harbor, and when the weather is good you can eat outside. The restaurant is clean, the staff friendly. If you like (large) steak, this is the place to be! What we were a bit disappointed with, were the side dishes. You had to pay extra for every side dish, and in order to eat more than just meat, such a side dish is pretty much indispensable. Furthermore, the side dishes are disproportionately expensive! At the time of writing, they charge €6.75 for fries with mayonnaise!!! This is the reason for my 2 star rating. If we ignore the prices, it is a fine restaurant.

Loetje is not really special anymore. Steak was served without salad, a bit meager. Furthermore we were seated in an adjacent room, not very atmospheric. The service was reasonable.

Had a great meal with a good wine. Steak remains number 1 of course. The Vega steak is also delicious. According to our vegetarians. The tuna steak was very disappointing. Way too well done. It wasn't even pink on the inside. So we won't be ordering this again. More and more other dishes are also appearing on the menu! Hopefully they will remain focused on the steak. 🥩

Had dinner there with 20 people. Had an a la carré menu, but there were 2 or three people who wanted something outside the menu, such as an XL steak or a vegetarian steak. A male staff member was not really happy about this. Not exactly friendly . “Either it's a menu or not” which he said in a not friendly polite way. And I also reported this to the gentleman and thanked him for his “kindness” and “understanding” That's not how you treat your guests. Communication course will benefit you and be useful if you work in the catering industry. The rest of us had a delicious meal

The food was good! We ordered meat, french fries, applesauce and some bread. Everything tasted good and the portion sizes were right. The restaurant is big and spacious, somewhat noisy. I don't know, it's just the local mood 😁 The service is friendly, but I think it's a bit slow. I warmly recommend it for the food!

Sunday 21-04-2025 Steak good as always, but a little less gravy than I'm used to. Fries were a little overcooked. Did not experience good service. I was lectured that from now on I should only make a reservation for 3, since we needed a high chair. Well sorry! Still managed to find a spot for us (it wasn't busy at 1730). I point and ask the gentleman if we could sit there, he says yes, we have to. Oh well thanks haha! When the food arrived on the table, my wife moved her plate out of our son's reach. So that he doesn't immediately have his hand in the gravy. After which we ask if we can have some cutlery. The gentleman pushes the plate back and puts the cutlery on the table haha. I then order a "carafe" of water, to which the servants ask do you want blue or red. I understand it all and it's very annoying, but I'm just here for a quick bite. After my particularly irritating question, there was a lot of discussion at the bar with 4 staff members. With the very intelligent comment from the bartender: "Who pays the rent then?" After being made to look like a fool for a while, I was given a delicious carafe of ice-cold water. I paid at 6:09 PM, so I think I was a great "customer". But from now on I prefer to eat my quick bite where I feel like a GUEST. That's why I gave a tip, so that the staff can enjoy a bottle of water on a terrace. :) Oh yes, the location is beautiful and very cozy. Greetings, Jurriaan

Nice loetje, but too expensive for what you get, loetje has lost its way a bit in terms of pricing. It is not without reason that the highest earning chain restaurants in the Netherlands

If you are in The Netherlands looking for flavor this is the place. The Bali steak with sambal sauce was perfect. Pair with a Malbec for an ideal day! The only recommendation I have would be to pair it with an upper scale toasted garlic bread with a butter or even better a cheese with chives spread. Leave the white sliced bread for the kids. Have the three dessert creme brulee, chocolate lava cake and chocolate ice cream to finish.🤌

I have been living elsewhere for many years now, but in Huizen from the 1980s to the turn of the century and visited this location frequently. At that time it was still called 'The old Eel Smokehouse', which is indeed its origin! Luckily it can still be recognized now. Still come regularly for a day trip in Huizen and the surrounding area. Then choose this location for lunch, preferably. The operation is now in the hands of 'Loetje'. Beautifully situated on the marina with both an adjacent terrace, largely covered, and a terrace on the marina. Plenty of free parking! An excellent atmosphere, good menu, pleasant service, etc. etc. Was there today (April 6, 2025) for the first time under the Loetje operation. I opted for Carpaccio on brown bread and pesto. Very good! Nice introduction!! So I'm definitely going for the repeat!! Ed Jansen

We waren hier op vrijdag 4 april rond 14:00.... We meldde ons binnen dat we buiten gingen zitten. Er werd een uit de hoogte en warrige uitleg gegeven over waar we mochten zitten. Alleen dat was al belachelijk. Maar nog meer stoorde ons het arrogante gedrag van de bediening. We zaten aan het verkeerde tafeltje volgens de medewerkster. En of we het bord niet hadden gezien. Nee, zei ik, anders had ik er niet gaan zitten. Ja jij mij een sneer geven ik ook zo op jou reageren. Het feit dat we alleen 2 cappuccino bestelde was ook niet echt naar tevredenheid medewerkers. Nee mensen, jammer dat de Haven van Huizen weg is en dat er zo'n tent met Amsterdam Zuid attitude ervoor in de plaats is gekomen. Ons zie je hier nooit meer.

Lunch was 12 o'clock. I think it had been ready for a while before it came to the table. The soup and croquette were not really warm.

Leuke tent! Kregen een leuke tafel, personeel was enorm vriendelijk en gastvrij. Voor de kinderen werden er kleurplaatjes gepakt waarmee zij zich de hele avond hebben vermaakt. Voorgerechten, biefstuk en dessert waren allemaal heerlijk!! Wij komen zeker terug!

Unimaginative food. Service is busy and has no time for a smile. Prices way too high for what you get. It is not bad in any way, but that is all.

We agreed here with someone I hadn't seen for a long time and with whom there was a lot to catch up on, but unfortunately we didn't get around to that. We sat for more than 20 minutes and only tried to contact the staff for drinks and the menu, which was completely unsuccessful. Because we did not want the evening to be ruined by the poor service, we decided to leave and eat elsewhere in the port, where we were warmly welcomed from the start and had a wonderful chat.

Excellent restaurant in the city of Huizen. The menu is extensive and something for everyone. The food is top quality and tasted very good. In particular, the well-known loetje steak with delicious gravy was really delicious. We all really enjoyed the quality and taste sensation. The staff is friendly and quick in service. Someone also often came by the tables to clear the tables or pick up empty bottles. Very nice! The building itself is beautifully decorated and has plenty of seating areas and even a bar with delicious cocktails and beer. Absolutely great!

Bij ontvangst geen welkom maar: hebt u gereserveerd? (Ja dus) Vervolgens wordt de deur naar een zijzaal geopend en de dame loopt weg. We moeten dus zelf een tafel kiezen? Na een kwartier komt een ‘ober’ zeggen dat we daar niet mogen zitten, dus verhuizen we naar een tweetje. Pas na weer 10 minuten ( we zijn dus 25 min. verder) komt een andere ober vragen wat we willen drinken. Graag 2 Chardonnay. Weer wachten, gesprek onmogelijk door een luidruchtig kinderfeestje naast ons. Andere tafel gevraagd in andere ruimte. Verhuisd, maar nog steeds geen Chardonnay. Na nog 2x vragen, eindelijk de Chardonnay en wordt de bestelling opgenomen. 1x biefstuk en 1x de Noordzeetong, droog gebakken en graag saus apart. Eindelijk na ruim 45 minuten komt het eten. I.p.v. een droog gebakken zeetong zijn het 2 papperige sliptongetjes, drijvend in het vet. Eerst geklaagd bij een ober, later bij de leidinggevende en het antwoord was exact hetzelfde: “dit levert de visboer en Noordzeetong=Noordzeetong !!” Op de menukaart staat Noordzeetong € 34,50 en dat is volgens mij dus één tong. Maar bij Loetje is het dus anders: een Noordzeetong kan dus ook 2 of 3 sliptongetjes zijn. Huh? Kortom ontvangst , bediening en eten waren belabberd. Voor mij nóóit meer Loetje. Tafel 18.30 - Chardonnay 18.10 - Eten 18.55 - Vertrek 19.30 N.B. de vuile borden werden pas na verzoek, na 15 min. afgeruimd…..

Staff is unfriendly. Food is reasonable. We had made a reservation at 5:30 PM and left the restaurant at 8:00 PM. Ordered our 3 course menu and had to wait 2x 1.5 for the next dish. We were ignored even when we waved for a drink. So I was able to enjoy my port for 3.5 hours. Such a disappointment. And we came here more often (because parents live around the corner), then it was reasonable, but now it's really bad. So next time better order for that money or get Chinese. Give your staff a customer-friendliness course, because dealing with customers like this is really not possible! Too bad, because it is a nice, nice location. Food was reasonable, but for that amount it should be good. I come from the catering industry myself, and I would be very ashamed of this service.
