Delicious tender steak with fries and salad topped with Loetje gravy. It doesn't get any better... just do it a few times every year. Then you remember why you eat meat.... highly recommended!! Not cheap but well worth it!! Free parking on site!

Had such a delicious meal with a friend. From starter to dessert. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!! My friend is from America and doesn't speak Dutch very well yet. She felt very welcome and was helped wonderfully, in English, by all the staff! Hats off to her!! 👌🏻 We will definitely be back again 🥳

Update September 2026: Had a nice meal on the terrace. Great sandwiches, average waiting time. Had a pleasant and tasty lunch, friendly staff. Very mixed feelings... the food itself is tasty, as expected from Loetje. However, the bread roll is quite hard, and that has been the case both times we have eaten there. I think we were also unlucky with the waiting time, as we had to wait a very long time both times, about 45 minutes. Waitresses are very friendly, but things don't seem to be running entirely smoothly yet. When you mention it, they certainly do their best to ensure the food arrives faster, but we shouldn't have to ask for that. The atmosphere has disappeared; boring decor and stiff wooden tables and chairs. It certainly has potential and we will definitely try it again in the future, but the experience so far is so-so; a real shame because they have tasty food!

Disgusting service. We had a reservation for 5 people. And when we arrived 5 mins earlier, they didnt have a table for us, because previous people havent left yet. Also stinks like in mcdonalds. And too loud. What a shameful place.

Bad experience. I reserved a table for 4 people, 1.5 week in advance for a birthday celebration. Upon arrival (on time), we were told they were full and could not free up their tables. What is the point of a reservation, then? We went to another restaurant. I will not visit Loetje Huizen anymore.

The restaurant has a particularly atmospheric feel. The starter and dinner were both beautifully presented and particularly tasty.

I am not used to eating so poorly at Loetje, but since this is the 2nd time in a short period, I am writing about it here. Ordered a delicious steak, called De Waard I believe. With chicken livers, bacon, and onion; previously, this was served separately so that the delicious steak with gravy wouldn't be overwhelmed by all that other goodness. This is where the cruch is. Now I received 2 triangular, overly dry steak tips, each about 50 grams. Almost overcooked and clumsily smothered in chicken livers, bacon, and onion. There was hardly any gravy either. It was truly too banal for words to notice the cook there hiding his inferior cut piece of meat under a layer of noise. And letting the plate go out the window as if to say, "Haha, nice, I'm rid of that rotten piece of meat too."

We regularly visit the Loetje location in Huizen. The steak, etc., is good and the food is good. However, it is odd that sometimes you are asked how you want it prepared, and sometimes you aren't. That is why one time it was medium and the other time rare, even though no request was made. I was told that they are no longer allowed to ask this in advance. So please keep in mind that you have to mention this yourself beforehand. Also, there was an XXL-sized dog inside that smelled terrible. I am allergic and was assigned a different table, but even so, the smell was very noticeable. That makes it a bit less of an enjoyable meal for just under 135 euros for 2 people.

Loetje is amazing. I always enjoy visiting Loetje locations; they never disappoint. The steak with delicious gravy is always delicious. Loetje Huizen has a beautiful location by the water with a lovely outdoor terrace. Inside, there is plenty of seating and space for private events. The bartender was very friendly and loves to chat! The service was good and the price-quality ratio is unbeatable.

I visited Loetje Huizen in Huizen today for a business lunch. It was lovely sitting on the terrace with a view of the harbor. I opted for a simple lunch myself, in this case the ham and cheese omelette, which in my opinion was exceptionally tasty. Highly recommended!

Had a party here.. the party was fun, just a bit weird that when it's 30+ outside the ceiling fans don't work (the staff said they were broken)

Restaurant Loetje is always good, this time in Huizen. Good quality again. You really get good food for your money. Just go for it!

The cod was lying in a bath of burnt gravy. The extra ingredients like leeks were not included. The fries were very salty, as was the gravy from the steak. Poor value for money, between 26-30 euros for just fish and meat. Vegetables or fries have to be paid for separately. The staff is friendly and the complaint was resolved well. But never again Loetje.

Lovely atmosphere in a monumental building, beautifully situated by the harbor in Huizen. A nice spot to take a break from a bike ride. Great staff, tasty food, croquettes good, carpaccio nice, and fried egg delicious. Just great again.

Maybe it was Murphy's Law, but the experience here was very mediocre. It started with the fact that the tap was closed because it was too hot (24 degrees...). So, drinks were limited. Well, and then the dinner... actually, I wouldn't dare call it that. Let's go for something fancy and order a steak. The waitress, who has just placed a Brand Weizen in a Skuumkoppe glass on the table, already assumes you'll order at least the medium-sized steak. Not so. What do you get for the little guy costing 26 euros? A piece of steak dipped in a very simple, really way too greasy gravy. You could have ordered the gravy separately, says the waitress when I give my opinion on how it tasted. But that isn't on the menu. Just as little as what else comes with the steak isn't on the menu. That is, in fact, nothing more than a few dry white slices of the cheapest kind. You can happily soak those into the large puddle of gravy. This is unworthy of a good restaurant. The medium steak is actually too raw. The fries and the salad, which you have to buy separately (how sadly Dutch is this), are reasonably tasty. Although a small pile of fries has been dumped on top of an even larger mountain of mayonnaise. In other words, the amount of fat you are served here is enough for the rest of the week. Finally, the terrace along the quay. Watch out! The chairs have thin legs and the decking planks have holes that are too big. So, three times the chair sank between the planks. And on the low wall right next to the table, dozens of cigarette butts were crammed into the joints. Highly unappetizing. In short, an experience never to be forgotten. And you can forget about eating here again at Loetje.

We really enjoyed our meal. I had fries and shrimp croquettes, and my husband had a schnitzel with pepper sauce and fries. The waitresses were all incredibly friendly and kind (especially to our dogs) ☺️ The atmosphere was charming and beautifully done. Very cozy 👍 They speak Dutch and English there, of course.

Had a delicious lunch with a 3-egg ham and cheese omelette on brown bread. The cheese and ham were perfectly cooked together with the 'broken/scrambled' eggs. Delicious cappuccino. Friendly service.

It's a shame that the old cafe-restaurant that used to be here is gone. The service at Loetje is terrible. There is a cat walking around that jumps on the table all the time, and the sunny terrace is closed. The staff are very grumpy. Unfortunately, not recommended.

The glasses (6 pieces) on the table were all dirty. We pointed this out immediately, but the new glasses were not clean either. All the glasses had lipstick marks on them. Furthermore, the staff did not respond professionally; a young man was clearly frustrated by our complaints. The starter (shrimp croquettes) was not warm. With the main course, the sauce/gravy was burnt. This was removed from the bill, but the question remains why this is served at all. All in all, a bad experience.

The steak was tender and soft! The salad looked old. Oddly enough, there was a plate of fries where the mayonnaise was somewhere at the bottom. The grilled vegetables ordered with it were served in a very small bowl. More mushrooms than vegetables. The service was really impersonal and poor. We had 3 different people at our table, and mistakes were made twice when taking the order. And when we were finished and left, no one looked up or around. And that while there was hardly anyone left inside. A huge disappointment in every respect!

Having always eaten steak, I had chicken satay this time. Delicious meat and a tasty satay sauce, and the portion size was just right too. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Beautiful location in Huizen by the harbor. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful building. The service was extremely friendly and the ladies clearly enjoyed their work. You don't see this often anymore, so they certainly deserve a compliment for that. We found it very cold inside. Several guests were also sitting with their coats on. A couple behind us asked if the heater could be turned on. I understood that it was on or partially broken... nevertheless, it was too cold. Unfortunately, my steak was served rare instead of medium. It can happen; the lady apologized and I received a new steak in no time. This time the steak was good... however, it was cut into 5 pieces. You should expect your steak not to be pre-cut. Very disappointing. Because of this, the steak also tasted quite dry. My partner's steak, also medium, tasted good. When settling the bill, there were 3 steaks on the receipt... this was corrected immediately.

Visited Loetje Huizen with colleagues. We were seated in the back room with just under 40 people. The poor acoustics caused a lot of noise while having conversations. A few colleagues and I were forgotten during the serving of drinks, to which the staff reacted nonchalantly. The food was (thankfully!) as we have come to expect from Loetje.

Not being allowed to sit in the sun on one of the first spring days because the staff would have to walk a long way didn't seem very hospitable. It didn't seem to make sense, as it wasn't particularly busy. Paying €5.60 for a 25cl glass of Loetje Blond is steep. It's a shame, because otherwise it's a lovely spot by the harbor in Huizen.

100% recommendation. They serve excellent food and drinks with very friendly service. 🙏 I highly recommend the steak. Delicious 😋 - thank you to the whole team.

Ate there several times. Once the steak wasn't warm, and twice it was very cold because the heating wasn't on. I'd skip it.

Beautiful location and the steak was quite good. But it's still a glutton. Lots of tables, friendly staff but no real attention to the guests. The service is absolutely frantic. The food is incredibly salty, which is one of the reasons we didn't eat it all. Charging extra for side dishes makes it quite expensive. You don't get fries or vegetables with your main course; a portion of fries they call "large" costs €6.75, and a portion of vegetables costs €5.75. That's €30 for 195 grams of meat, and you've spent a total of €42.50 just for the main course. I think it's a lot of money for this type of restaurant. We had a good meal, but I won't be going back.

Ugh, what a disgusting cappuccino; it tastes like nothing. Unfriendly, grumpy bartender on a Sunday morning, clearly not in the mood for it. Hot chocolate with whipped cream, half a cup of hot chocolate heated in a strange way.

The restaurant is a beautiful old building in a lovely spot on the harbor in Huizen, near the locally famous lime kilns. There's a terrace, and the interior is also cozy, at least the two rooms on the far left and right sides of the building. There's also a kind of connecting room, which I didn't like; I found it a bit colder and less inviting. The service is mostly friendly, except for one somewhat surly woman, but not everyone was equally attentive. The food was good. Loetje is best known for its steak, but I'm not a fan of that, so I ordered chicken satay with fries on the side. The satay was well-seasoned, and the fries were generously scooped. They did come with mayo underneath the fries, which I would have preferred in a separate container. Especially if you're sharing with someone, I prefer that. The chicken satay came with a small salad, so I didn't have to order that separately, which is a nice bonus. All in all, a decent restaurant with reasonable prices in an attractive location.

I had a dinner with my wife, we enjoyed it. Stuff was very friendly, service was good, had a good time there. We ordered 2 steaks, one of them was good but other one was a bit raw, had to ask making it at least medium, they fixed the issue quickly.

My grandpa always made the best steak in the world. Now I only eat steak at Loetje. I've been to several locations and always had delicious food and a great atmosphere!

The menu listed a 0.0 steak, and we wanted to order 4 at 5:30 PM on a Saturday night. There were only 3! The manager gave us a weak explanation about the daily freshness and limited purchasing, but no further service. We ordered a large salad without bacon. We received a small salad with bacon. It turned out it also contained eggs, which is something to be proud of when two-thirds of our group ordered and requested only vegan products. The restaurant was also quite cold. In short, not a success. There was one bright spot: the woman who served us for most of the evening was very friendly and professional, and she did receive a tip.

Both the tuna steak and the regular steak were bathed in delicious gravy. The side fries and warm vegetables were also delicious. Highly recommended!

Loetje is a lovely location by the harbor in Huizen. The standard recipe is the same as everywhere else. It's a matter of taste, of course. There are better options if you like this type of steak, but for the price, it's perfectly fine. The service was excellent, although the wait times were a bit long due to peak hour. The atmosphere is a bit too noisy.

Not only is dinner fantastic at Loetje, but the wide variety of lunch sandwiches is also excellent! We'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with how we were received today. We were two people and wanted to sit at a table for four, as the tables for two are small. A young man had to inquire, and no, it wasn't possible. Several couples were sitting at a table for four. Later, while we were eating, two people came in and were seated at a table for four. How unusual is that? We were asked what we wanted to order. We ordered the steak. We weren't asked what gravy we wanted it with. So I said, "Don't ask what gravy we wanted it with." We told the person what we wanted, and yes, I did write it down, thankfully. Then he walked away. It was strange that they didn't ask how we wanted the steak cooked. An incompetent person who really had to walk around. We felt it was a shame that it turned out this way. I've been here monthly in the past few months, and the experience has been very good. I sat outside on the terrace and ate there every time. This was the first time I sat inside, the staff was different, and unfortunately, I had a less pleasant experience.

I dined at Loetje with a group of colleagues on a company outing. The food is good quality, and the atmosphere is cozy. The tuna steak I chose was perfectly cooked, and the overall taste was perfect. For dessert, I had the pineapple and white chocolate cheesecake. I highly recommend both!

Edit: This time it was mussels and fries. The mussels were fine, but there were no sauces other than the "bali jus," which tasted fine. Fries should be served with a small bowl of mayonnaise, not pata, which is served with mayonnaise. It's perfectly acceptable for the price. The high tables are too small and too close together. We'll pass on that next time. Great food, good steaks, and a poke bowl.

There's nothing wrong with the steak. Exceptional. But the tables for two are very close together. Very uncomfortable. Fortunately, after requesting a table for four, we were given one.

Nice location and lovely terrace. We only had a glass of wine, and it tasted fine. It's a shame we couldn't catch a smile from the staff. The two gentlemen didn't seem particularly interested in their work. So, one star for the location and one star for the delicious wine.

We were looking forward to a lovely evening. The staff were very unfriendly. The food didn't come as ordered, but we were charged in full. We only got one drink and weren't asked for anything else. We were left with half-eaten plates and empty glasses. Overall, not recommended at all.

The waitress was rather slow to catch on. She couldn't find drinks and asked for dessert when we removed the starter, but forgot to ask how we wanted our steak cooked. We ordered one round of drinks in total, and no one ever came for the second. When we mentioned this to the waiter, they said they were short-staffed. Meanwhile, the waitress had already been serving us for half a long time, making drinks and smoking on the (same) terrace, before heading home. As compensation, the waitress offered us the long-awaited cup of coffee, but since we'd been waiting 20 minutes for the bill and over an hour for that one, we declined. The only Loetje experience we had that evening was the high bill at the end of the meal. 1 star.

Fantastic restaurant, there were nine of us there. The food was perfect. The portions were more than ample. Unfortunately, we had a medical emergency towards the end, but the staff was very helpful and assisted us with everything they could. In the end, everything turned out well. Really great!

Starter: salmon on wonton, followed by the main course: De Roode Waard (onions, steak, and bacon), delicious with fries and mayonnaise, and finished with a crème brûlée dessert. Delicious food, friendly staff, and all this in the harbor of Huizen.

No one even looks at you, even though the restaurant is barely crowded and you have to wait to be seated. After five minutes, we were gone. And we'll never know if we missed something. There wasn't even a menu at the entrance. Maybe it's actually delicious and cozy.
