At Loetje the food is always delicious. That was no different at Loetje Vught.

This was my first introduction to Loetje Vught, but I have been able to eat at several other Loetjes. I had made a reservation in advance, but our table was not yet available. We were politely referred to a standing table, so without chairs, which quickly became boring. The food was perfect as usual, standard Loetje if you go for the Steak tartare and the XL Roode Waard. The request to keep the gravy separate had not been received by the kitchen. I find it annoying that the plates were served in front of me. Too bad the plates are not preheated, which means you have to eat your steak at a high speed.

Nice to eat out for a nice steak. I still like my grandma's better, but that's nostalgia. I was skeptical, because I heard bad things, but this was definitely a good place for Mother's Day.

What a disappointment. After a day out we stopped there to have a drink and possibly something to eat. But after the drinks we quickly went to a restaurant where you are welcome. It took at least 15 minutes for drinks to be taken, not because it was so busy otherwise I would have understood. Someone else joined so we got 1 more round of drinks but then we didn't take dirty glasses etc. with us. And they didn't come to ask if we wanted anything else....

I have previously given a review that was not good, but now we have been back a few times and these times we have eaten deliciously. The tenderloin was also really medium cooked instead of medium rare. Staff does its best, very friendly. We actually never make a reservation and that is never a problem, there is always a spot. There is only quite a long waiting time between starter and main course, otherwise it is completely fine!

A very strange experience in this restaurant. You are greeted with “good afternoon”, to which I politely say: “It is still morning.” Then I get looks that could kill. What an unprofessional attitude. Then just say “oh yes” in a customer-friendly way, with a smile. Then we sit outside on the terrace. They say that it has not been cleaned yet. I answer: “It doesn’t matter, no problem.” But again that look – in a way that comes across as completely unprofessional. Really ridiculous. This is not how you treat customers or guests. If I were to behave like this, I would not have a single customer left. I have rarely experienced this kind of behavior. It is downright embarrassing. Inform, train and give your staff feedback on customer friendliness. This is really unacceptable.

I'll start with a positive, because the food was as you would expect at Loetje, delicious tender steak with fresh white bread, tasty gravy and the haricot verts were also tasty. However, I found the service to be on the bad side, and no matter how good your food is, if your service is bad you don't enjoy your food optimally. We came in last Tuesday, without a reservation, when we said that there was already a deep sigh from the young man sitting at the counter. When we had only been sitting at the table for 2 minutes, the drinks were taken, we had not yet had the chance to look calmly at the wine/drinks menu. Then we immediately got the menu when taking the drinks, which is good. After 3 minutes the same young man came to the table to ask if we had made a choice yet, I then indicated that I wanted to take it easy for a while and that was not appreciated, "if we could hurry up". We both ordered the Loetje classic and the man had 1 glass of wine. (With better service this could have been 3 glasses per person) In addition, the people next to us with the same main course got 3 slices of bread per person. But we got 2 per person. Then we waited 45 minutes for the bill, after which we got up to the counter to ask for the bill again and we were immediately given the receipt because they thought we wanted to leave without paying. I found this embarrassing and suspicious. I will end with a plus because there were a number of people in the service who were very friendly and hospitable and because the restaurant is very nicely and modernly decorated. But for us it will be Loetje Nijmegen or Utrecht again next time. And that is purely about the service. This review is therefore in the hope that you will do something with it.

Delicious steak in a long time. Also the dessert was delicious. Staff was also very friendly on the contrary of what I read here. Will definitely come back soon. Then I will post some more pictures here.

Today we had dinner on the occasion of our daughter's birthday (20 years old). Big contrast. The food and the kitchen were fine. Nice portions, nicely presented and tasty. The service (3 ladies in a nearly empty restaurant) were more concerned with themselves than with the customers. They never asked us if everything was to our liking or if we wanted something to drink. At the end she asked very dutifully "DO you want coffee or dessert?" With a look of rather not. Then, when paying the bill, we indicated that it was my daughter's birthday. To which no congratulations followed, but she only said: so you're paying the bill. Very lukewarm and cold staff. Too bad because it did put a blemish on the meal.

I order a 195 gr steak Bali and get it in 2 pieces. I find it strange that I don't get 1 piece while my table companion did get it in 1 piece. Delicious steak with lots of sauce. Good fries and nice crispy green beans. Tasty desserts and coffee from Loetje is very tasty. Choice for children is fine. Nice, quick service. Decor quite minimalistic. Quite expensive, that's true.

Good food but the service was very disappointing. We had to wait a long time for the food (after more than 2 hours starter and main course). We wanted to order a dessert but after the main course our plates were taken away and we sat at an empty table for half an hour with empty glasses. Too bad we had to raise our hands several times for the bill, we were constantly walked past. Bill paid, waitress says thank you without looking at us and quickly walks away. Not recommended…

Wait a little while for the food, but then you get something! A big portion for your money, and it tastes fantastic. We will definitely enjoy it there again soon.

Delicious steak. The rest is mediocre. You sit there very nicely. The decor is fine. We had to wait quite a while, that was not communicated. But the food was fine. The pricing is quite steep.

Nothing wrong with that. I had just read a report in Het Parool and thought I would check. The result: excellent steak with chicken livers, fried bacon and onions. The service is also as it should be. So satisfied!!

Had lunch with my wife. My wife is the steak lover I am not. So had a hamburger and a wheat beer of our own brand. My wife had a good meal but thought it was very pricey. My burger was okay but not great. The price was no less than €20 and without fries. I could order that for €3.75. My own brand wheat beer was 5.90 for 0.25 lt. (In Germany I pay about €5 for half a liter of Erdinger Weiss. Dear Loetje, I understand that everything is becoming more expensive, but this is downright ridiculous. I also feel quite cheated. I have eaten and drunk better for considerably less. Once and never again!

This remains a great place to eat steak!!!

We come to Loetje Vught quite often and it’s always a tasty experience. Our go-to is the Loetje classic (195g) with garlic sauce and Bali sauce—definitely recommend! The portions are generous, especially when you add the salad and fries on the side. The steak is usually great, but one small tip: they sometimes forget to ask how you’d like your meat cooked. If you don’t want it rare, make sure to mention it upfront (I personally go for medium well). The sauces are rich and flavorful, especially the garlic—though be warned, it’s quite buttery, so maybe not ideal if you're watching your cholesterol. Staff is mostly friendly and service is generally good, but like anywhere, it can vary a bit depending on who you get. Still, we keep coming back for the food and the consistent quality.

The food was very tasty. Steak in an old-fashioned tasty layer of gravy with a stack of white sandwiches and very good fries. We thought the price in general (various dishes and drinks) was a bit on the high side.

Had a delicious steak at Loetje Vught. Nice piece of meat and plenty of gravy on the plate. Unfortunately you only get two slices of bread and they are gone before you know it. Fries and mayo were certainly generous. The children's menu was not very special, but we knew that, the portions were large.

Not very special. Just wash good meat. The most expensive thing with livers is more like a plate of onions. Missing a small bowl of lettuce or something like that. So for what it is, very expensive, I have eaten and received much better food for less at other steak restaurants. You can also get dessert and coffee from others for the total amount. Waitress was very friendly and very polite even after we indicated this. Nothing to complain about the service. Atmosphere: must be able to withstand a very large room where everyone wants to be heard. So not really suitable for a quiet meal. But understand their concept, nice, but not for us again

Got a well done steak twice. Then you don't understand anything (for a steak restaurant). Of course medium rare. Service staff was great though.

Got a seat in the restaurant. Got a card. Drinks were brought, we knew what to order but the waitress snapped, do you have to have my colleague.... should it be like that?? The food was very spicy, the satay and the raw vegetables too. Told the waiter that and he thought he had heard it several times from customers, he said, but the chef didn't think so, so nothing was done about it. Too bad. The customer is the most important, right? And a lot of noise, loud voices. You don't come here to eat quietly. We won't be back.

A dinner where we - a group of 6 people - received our main courses on 3 different occasions. The first steaks were gone before the last ones had their dishes. Too bad, when you consider that the essence of eating out is eating together.

A really meh experience, food: the eel starter was good (a pity that there is no choice between brown or white bread). It would look better if the eel fillets were on well-toasted toast and possibly some extra toast, it looks better and prevents wasting too much toast that is put separately on the table. Main course: steak (of course chosen), such a shame that you have to pay extra for vegetables and fries. Include a portion per person in the price and if desired, a supplement of fries and/or vegetables for a fee.

We were a bit afraid because we had read that the staff can be stiff at times. We had a great evening. Extremely friendly staff, asked plenty of questions if it was good and/if we wanted anything else. Not too often/or too little. Delicious food. I think the price ratio for a steak with white bread is on the expensive side. Also because you have to pay extra for fries and vegetables.

The best employee is Christian (supervisor), he approached us very kindly. Because: At the beginning I had a waitress who was very customer unfriendly and forgot to ask me how I wanted my steak. Then I asked if it could be cooked a little more well, because raw meat gives me a stomach ache. Then she said this wasn't possible because the default is medium rare. (Which is not correct, because normally they always ask me politely/I can pass on my wishes). Then I spoke to Christian about this and he was very respectful. He made sure we didn't lack anything and received compensation. I'm really not the most difficult person, but you pay expensively and you want decent food and decent service and Christian has straightened this out. 100 points for Christian and that's how a manager should be! I am very grateful for how he treats customers.

Heard different sounds. We love a good steak, so experience it for yourself. Starter very tasty. Smoked salmon and carpaccio. Unfortunately with 4 half toasts. That was too much. Steak in gravy... gravy too much. Steak was swimming in gravy and was not asked about doneness in advance. Again 4 casino white. Was too much. Ordered fries with it. Very much. A nice concept if you like it. What I saw was that a lot of food was thrown away. Food waste. All in all, fun and delicious. But not for us anymore.

Felt more like an ABC than a restaurant. Children screaming everywhere. Stuff on the table that you didn't order and that is still shoved down your throat. Once was more than enough for me.

Had a nice meal at Loetje in Vught. Friendly service. We had not made a reservation and there was no room for a while. We decided to wait at the bar with a drink. Also received a portion of the house bitterballen. Steak always tastes good. Toilets are neat and clean. We will definitely come back again.

Never again... I don't think the steak was even 100gr instead of 150gr and a very hard outer edge was almost burnt. It was not tasty and the gravy tasted like burnt butter. Ridiculous expensive fries for €6.95 on a small plate with a mountain of mayonnaise. This is the first restaurant where price and quality are not up to par. I would like to pay a lot, but then I have to taste it. It was like assembly line work. The food was on the table within 5 minutes of ordering. We were also surprised that it was served so quickly. Sorry Loetje Vught but once was enough

Mwa. €87 for a piece of meat, dry, tough bread and dark fries. Cheap wine from the Lidle which was undrinkable (bitter). Service wasn't really friendly but we did get a sweet. Sorry, not worth repeating.

Had a nice meal for lunch. Nothing to complain about! But 3 people for 4 tables and then just hanging against the bar!? We wanted something to drink, but it took too long. The table behind us had also run out of drinks... Too bad, next time 1 man of staff could easily be done & there wouldn't be so much chatting!

Ate at Loetje last Saturday, the food tasted good, the concept is nice but the atmosphere could be better. When we got home we both got sick, vomiting, etc. So I think we got food poisoning unfortunately.

The four of us had a three-course meal at Loetje. The service was very friendly. It was nice and attractively decorated, but it was very noisy. Difficult to understand each other sometimes. The portions are generous, nothing to complain about that! What was surprisingly disappointing was the steak. Loetje is known for its steaks, but we were not asked how we wanted it cooked. We just got it well done. We found that remarkable. I think one of us had the Dame Blanche waiting in the kitchen for a while, because the chocolate sauce was cold and already partly solidified.

I would say take a look at a loetje in Amsterdam, this has nothing to do with cold steak, cold gravy and cold weak roasted club sandwich full of bacon, where is the rest of what should be on it, half a plate with chips, and the fries are on top of a huge layer of mayonnaise, this is really not possible!, nothing good about the service either, don't even ask how it is or if you want something to drink, etc., total disinterest

The steak and livers were really tasty. But the rest of what we ate was less so. Too much bacon and sauce on the salad, the fries were okay. But I still liked the gravy/sauce with the meat for the first 2 or 3 bites. But not anymore after that. Furthermore, the service is good, sanitary facilities are nice and clean. The overall atmosphere is fine. It is a great restaurant for a quick bite to eat. But compared to other restaurants and quality, I thought it was a bit on the expensive side. Because a main course consisted only of the meat. You had to order extra fries and salad. So 2x soft drinks, 2x steak 195gr, 1x fries and 1x salad was more than €80

Food is good. Management doesn't get it. We have to ask ourselves if we can order and pay, glasses remain empty so no new drink is taken, we are not asked whether it tastes good during dinner or after dinner. Containers of fries are reserved in which mayonnaise has been pumped/hidden at the bottom of the containers. That doesn't look right and it doesn't work either. Simply add a small bowl of mayonnaise with a wooden spoon so that it can be spooned onto the plates. Time for some adjustments to this franchise.

A bit skeptical about the Loetje concept and finally got to experience it for myself. Exactly as in my thoughts and just a little bit better. The steak, that's what you come here for, was good. No more or less. I noticed that the nice staff did not ask how we wanted the steak cooked. It was medium/well done. The gravy is plentiful. Served with 2 white casino sandwiches for dipping. The extra fries ordered are crispy and freshly fried. I had the extra (not very) spicy Bali sauce and my tablemate had the original gravy. The table companion (man) was very enthusiastic and I (woman) thought it was good. I think Loetje is mainly a "men's" thing. Nothing wrong with the interior, but it is also functional and robust.

Main course, all 3 of us had a hamburger. When we cut them open, they were all still raw. After sending them back, they came back almost black, without cheese and good taste... The chef clearly doesn't know what he is doing... he can only sear and not cook... Opinion has certainly changed, but not for the better...

Yes, that steak is delicious. Serve with old-fashioned fries with a good dollop of mayo. And then that salad... delicious. And lady blanche after. As it should be.

Had dinner on Tuesday afternoon. Young man who served us was extremely correct. But the older blonde woman was rude and not customer friendly. Too bad because you pay enough. Steak was delicious as always.

Unfortunately all the bad reviews are true! Bad operation. Unfriendly lady. Had to wait a long time for our food! And that while the place was almost empty. Manager David tried to do his best, but unfortunately it was a bad experience for us.

The steak was nothing special, certainly not bad, but I have had better many times. Price is too high. I will definitely not recommend the steak in gravy with white bread recipe. It's heavy on the stomach.

Really delicious food, I had chicken livers, which were so tasty and soft that they just melted on your tongue. Meat cooked perfectly. And the lemonades are also recommended.

I ate jackfruit rendang, swearing a bit in church to eat vegetarian in Loetje, but I really enjoyed it!

Last night we had a delicious meal at Loetje in Vught. Cozy restaurant. Very friendly service. Good portions. Small tip, perhaps serve less bread with the dishes. And so if guests want more bread, they can order it for free. This is to prevent waste. But once again a great meal!

Chicken sandwich just contains a few slices of chicken and a lot of bacon. You also get chips with it, I wonder why?? Very salty, maybe to get people to drink more, my wife finds it unpleasant. The salmon sandwich was tasty, but you really don't need those chips. I thought the atmosphere was boring. Tables are far too close together, they have 2 disabled parking spaces, but there are 3 large steps at the entrance and no room for a wheelchair inside. We won't go here anymore and we also spent 45 euros for 2 sandwiches and 1 coffee and a cocktail 🤯.

Quite a large restaurant located on the N65. The house brand; steak tenderloin is available in different sizes. It tastes great and is served in a plate with gravy and 4 slices of white bread. Tip: don't do it! Steak in a swimming pool full of gravy, served by a grumpy lady, expensive; there are many better and nicer restaurants in Den Bosch and others!

We had a nice evening, and that is always nice. We had a delicious meal and there was even room for our two-year-old son to walk around without disturbing others. If the staff were more concerned with the customers, I am sure that more turnover would be generated. It's also not nice that someone else brings the food. These waiters do not know who ordered what and do not answer questions because they have to leave quickly. We enjoyed the delicious portions. Everyone's gravy was quite salty, but we ate it all. All in all, not a bad experience at all.

Steak was superb! I can't say anything about that, but I really don't think it's worth the price. Side dishes of fries and salad are definitely not worth the money. bacon on the lettuce was really nasty! Loetje's dessert was simply canned pineapple with spekkoek from Sligro. You can't put anything on your plate because of the gravy...This was my first and last time. PS service was good!

We also wanted to try Loetje... and the steak was great!! And exceeded our expectations! The shrimp croquettes were fried for too long and had little filling. But all in all satisfied.

We had dinner with 5 people last Friday, October 18, and the food was excellent. We read a lot of comments about the service, but we thought the service was fine. Even though it was quite busy, the dishes arrived on time, no long waiting times. A bit on the expensive side, but you know that in advance. Excellent value for money. There's a good chance we'll come back again.
