Delightful bakery from the tasty food, excellent service, and friendly charm. Great selection of items, from savory to sweet and from pastries to sandwiches. Cheese croissant was amazingly savory and the pépito was out-of-this-world good.

What an amazing place! If you in oud west then louf is a MUST. You will probably read other reviews dedicated to the amazing pastries they offer but I would like to point out the atmosphere in this place: an amazing service and people enjoying themselves inside, by the street and even in the park a few steps away.

Sadly they have no good seating options, the inside is very very small. Also they do not have any vegan options. The Cardamom bun was delicious!

We would have loved to try the delicious rolls and croissants, but they were already sold out by 11. No seating.

⁣🥐 A delightful breakfast at Bakkerij Louf (@bakkerijlouf)! ☕⠀ We had a great start to the day in the cozy atmosphere on Bilderdijkstraat. 🍳 The Omelet Special Raclette Danish had bresaola, pickles, cheese, and an omelet in perfect harmony. The Double Baked Chocolate Danish was a true dessert delight with almonds, chocolate, and hazelnuts. 😊 Both were truly delicious!⠀ We finished our breakfast with two fresh Americanos. ☕ The other items on the counter looked great too, but we decided to try other places so we settled for these two.⠀ 💡 A quick note: Seating is a bit limited, but you can easily sit next to someone sitting alone; the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

What a nice and cute bakery! There is a good and pleasant vibe inside the place, and the goods are very good. Highly recommend the cardamom/cinnamon bowl, it was amazing!

Inspired by a Sourdough starter bakkerij louf began in 2022, the first location opened by friends soon yielding two more with each retaining its focus on careful craftsmanship plus good Ingredients served in a comfortable space. Open from 08h00 to 15h00, the oud-west storefront an ideal place to sit outside during summer, choices come both sweet and savory though personal predilections lean into items such as a beautiful spiral Cardamom Roll with butter bolstering the aromatics. Connecting with local farmers for Meats and Produce, the toppings to Sandwiches on Sourdough, louf’s “Honey Bun” takes that starter and sweetens it slightly beneath a crust with good chew in stark contrast to the shattering Pain au Chocolat. Not ignoring more interesting items, a Cookie with big chunks of Chocolate finding new heights thanks to Sesame Seeds, fans of Shortbread will fall head over heels for Gateau Breton made just as it is in Brittany.

At first glance, Louf looked like a cozy and inviting café, ideal for a quiet conversation with a friend, a date, or even a business chat. Unfortunately, that initial impression faded quickly. The ambiance was disrupted by the loud chatting and laughter of the staff behind the counter, which forced us to raise our voices just to be heard. It completely undermined the calm atmosphere the place seems to be going for. The coffee wasn’t bad, but any enjoyment I might have had was ruined when I found not one, but three dog hairs in my cup. I was tempted to buy some of the breads, which looked good at first glance, but they were left out in the open and not covered, after the coffee experience, I didn’t dare to try them. Adding to the noise, there were multiple dogs inside, barking loudly, especially in the morning, it came at the cost of any real comfort or ability to hold a proper conversation. We ended up leaving early, plates half finished, and went in search of a quieter and more hygienic place. The food itself? Nothing memorable. Bottom line: Louf might have charm on the surface, but the noise, hygiene concerns, and lackluster food made it a one time visit for us. Disappointing experience, especially in such a vibrant neighborhood.

Went there on a Saturday morning, a girl in her early twenties (maybe younger) made me one of the best flat whites I had in ages. Their cheese croissants and the mustard ones, simply delicious.

Amazing quality bread that you can taste how good it is for you. Great selection of pastries both sweet and savoury with a great espresso. It can get quite busy with queues out the door, especially at certain times but worth the wait.

Everything was delicious, unfortunately all the seats inside were taken... but we found a spot outside the café, and since the weather was good, we were able to enjoy our pastries ☺️

We’d been curious about this place for a while, but it was a letdown. At 2pm, the pastry selection was already pretty bare. What we got was fine, but nothing special. The music inside was blasting, so we ended up sitting outside even though the weather wasn’t great. What really threw us off was the staff — the vibe was cold and unwelcoming. For a place that’s so hyped (and pricey), the experience just didn’t match. Won’t be back.

Meeting place for racist people. Both the saleswoman and a customer treated us badly, trying to sneak in and failing to do so, claiming that we didn't speak their language. As for the food, the miso cookie is good but the rest is pretty unmemorable. Mediocre coffee. Not recommended if you don't speak their precious language.

Straight up best sandwich I've had in a long while. The ham sandwich with mustard and rocket on fresh crusty sourdough just hit the spot. Coffee was 10/10 and the miso cookie was outrageously addictive.

I like this place, the krentenbollen especially are great, but I find the bread and pastries have such a strange silky texture and are lacking flavour. I’m used to sourdough so maybe it’s the lack of sourdough flavour.

Solid baguette, good selection of pastries and savory treats. Lines can be a bit silly, but mostly due to small staff doing everything and trying to keep coffees flowing and large takeaway orders moving.

Nice and beautiful tent with friendly staff. I personally thought the cheese croissant was too greasy, but in my opinion it could have been lighter. Pac was better in comparison! Would come back and try again :)

Beautiful location, delicious treats and good coffee

Ze hebben “geen wc”… helaas dus voor iedereen die ergens lekker wil zitten en weleens moet plassen. I will adjust it as requested: if you have medical problems and therefore often have to go to the toilet, it is particularly annoying if an uninterested girl tells you to pee next door while you can see the toilet. Here the tone is what makes the music.

Slightly overpriced as all the cool bakeries in Amsterdam. Delicious sweet options though. I like their kaas croissant too.

Nice bakery! - The reason why I don’t give 5 stars is that I don’t go crazy for their options, like the type of pastries they propose. I do recognise they’re tasty and good quality but I tend to like slightly different options in a bakery - Prices are okay! - Location is in oud west close to busy areas of the city and its well connected - the atmosphere inside is 10/10 because the aesthetic and interiors are absolutely great, really loved the vibe there. There are some seats and it was great to be reading there - staff was friendly! Maybe for my taste it’s not my cup of tea as a bakery but I know it’s still very popular and of high quality

Worth the hype and the wait. Coffee is perfect, sun was shining through the windows glistening the pastries and the cheese/mustard laminated pastry was mind blowing. It’s a must for an Amsterdam visit.

Excellent sourdough bread! Didn’t have the chance to try their pastries but I’m sure they’re equally as delicious. The bread is made fresh in the shop and you can see the process happen behind the counter.

Half coffe place, half bakery. Their coffee, sourdough bread, croissants are nice and not overprices. BUT The smell is sooooo heavy that stinks on your clothes. The owner should find a solution for that....

Part baker of sourdough bread, baguettes and pastries. Partly a coffee shop to meet up and have something to eat. Everything is tasty, staff very friendly. Sometimes very busy so the waiting time can increase.

Louf could easily be the best looking, local, bakery in town. I am happy to support local businesses if they give me a reason to come back but Amsterdam gastronomic expenses mostly go into branding and marketing rather than the product. Staff on average don’t “sell”, they just “serve”. At Louf its the same, making it a “drive through” bar. As for the products, I still don’t understand why we still having this quality in Amsterdam.. Unfortunately they aren’t as good as everything here looks. Went for croissant and pain au chocolate and a cappuccino in two different times of the year to see if it was chance. They were the most greasy pastries i’ve ever had.. dripping really! Had to pass my hands on three paper napkins to remove the grease. Heavy on the stomach, poor for the palate. Pastries should be light and fragrant, thats really enough. And for the price i’d expect to smell orange notes, vanilla… anything. Sadly, same disappointment for the coffee: it was burnt and acidic... milk was not warm. In the city, bars typically add 70-90% margin over coffees. This means that a “latte macchiato” costs around 0.3-0.5€ to make and is priced at >4.5€ making it a 90% margin. If you gonna charge that much over it, back it up! The bakery is definitely the anchor point of your business and it would def be my trusty local bakery - but this experience did not make my day so i never came back after it. Ya’ll don’t need to be a bar - there are plenty already - but if you open yet another coffee place in this town just to market your awesome bakery display, might be worth while training one or two staff about proper coffee extraction… cheap labour doesn’t save on costs. But one day in Italy is enough to acquire a sense of hospitality and the taste of good coffee love🩷and really hope to come back again🙏🏼

This is a vibrant bakery with limited seating for dining in, they offer some outdoor benches which will be nice if it is not raining. They have a huge crowd coming for their pastries but cashier is efficient so wait is short. Their baked goods are excellent. I enjoyed my special cheese and cranberry sauce sandwich; they complement each other perfectly. This bakery is definitely worth another visit for their pastries!

Overall disappointed by the pastries which were not soft enough and overcooked. The bread, however, is very good.

Best coffee, bread and viennoiserie gem in West. Everything is made with so much love by the nicest passionate staff, who always make you feel at home. One of the baker boys Sweder proudly gave me a wonderful delicious focaccia to taste. I’ll be back!

I went to meet up with two friends, they had great specialty coffees with cow- and plant based milks. Lovely looking (and tasty!) pastries and bread, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall atmosphere was very calming and enjoyable. Definitely recommend 🤍

Louf is an absolute gem of a bakery in Amsterdam! The cozy ambiance and inviting vibe make it the perfect spot to unwind. I had an oat flat white, and it was simply delicious—smooth and perfectly made. Their baked goods are equally impressive, from the fragrant cardamom pastry to the indulgent Petitos (a larger, chocolate-filled croissant-like pastry) and an amazing apple pastry. Each bite was delightful, and it’s clear they put a lot of care into their creations. I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back. Highly recommended for anyone who loves great coffee and fresh, flavorful pastries!

I had a cheese sandwich and a cinnamon roll croissant. The cheese sandwich was very nice but a little heavy. It may not suit everyone's taste, but I liked it very much. Cinnamon roll was amazing. It is both light and extremely delicious. Must definitely beat.

This cafe is definitely one of the top cafes in Amsterdam. Located in west, you will find a cozy ambiance indoor and a street-style outdoor. Wide variety of options and the taste is simply great. Their coffee is also super good and they offer all kind of options. Staff are very friendly and helpful

Great bakery, shame they don’t serve decaf 😱 would be nice if they could have some tables outside to accomodate the crowds. Also, if you’re dining in, there is no table service you have to join the long queue, which is a pain.

Great pastry - very buttery, but not as oily as Fort Negen for example. Nice mix of fresh breads and pastries both sweet and savory, excellent coffees. Well managed line and a nice atmosphere inside.

Sourdough is okay, not the best I’ve had in the city and not the worst. There are no vegan options in terms of pastry.

The vegan sandwich was tasty & filling - good! But we waited for a LONG time for our two coffees… the vibe is okay - but the place is quite tiny, need to “hunt” for a table…
