Found Rise bakery just by chance when visiting the Alber cuyp market. We were very surprised by the large selection of pastries. The croissants were fantastic! Very crispy and very buttery. We also tried an earl Grey cream cuffin, the cream was super delicious, with a hint of lemon in it. Coffee was also very good and with beautiful latte art. If we would live in Amsterdam we would definitely come here often, the breads looked very good too. Traditional style. :)

Their croissants are truly delicious. The place is quite small, so takeaway makes sense.

I tried the cinnamon roll, spinach and feta pastry, pain au chocolat, kimchi croissant, and salted caramel cruffin. The cruffin was my absolute favorite, followed by the cinnamon roll. The cappuccino was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. This place truly deserves its high rating.

I still remember the chocolate and pecan praline cream habano and I would go back to Amsterdam just to have it again! So delicious, my God! Even though the size looks like it would be huge, it’s not. It’s super airy and the cream is light, so you can really taste all the flavors—the dough, the crunch, the chocolate, and the cream. We also ordered the croissant and the cinnamon bun, which never disappoint! Definitely some of the best we’ve had in Amsterdam

A bakery that meets the the hype. Im a takeaway person. For me this is what I found disappointing, everything was put in a paper bag, which then sucked up the butter from the patries, leaving a greasy bag in my bag. I wish they had take away boxes, which would allow for better protection of the goods but also not leave you with a greasy bag. Should I be in the area again, I will absolutely visit.

I was recommended to go here by a friend. As a Portuguese, bread has been one of the things I miss the most, but finally I found VERY GOOD bread! I'll be returning multiple times for sure 3 year review update: It's been my to go place in Amsterdam on the weekends for the last 3 years. Their pain Suisse is my cocaine.

The cheesecake GOAT and other breads are also above average. They're so delicious that I stopped by the market and came back for them.

Finally a really great cappuccino and such tasty pastries, the best in De Pijp! The people that work here are also lovely ☺️

I had an okay experience at Rise Bakery. The pastries looked good, but one was so flaky it broke and fell on the floor, while another I tried was too dry. I ordered the wheel croissant and found it way too sweet for my taste. It was a bit too much for me

It’s small cute bakery behind Albert Cuypmarkt, but the variety is so huge, i went there this Sunday and it was a bit crowded, but i guess i was waiting just 7-8 minutes. Croissant is huge, fluffy, flavourful, special focaccia with mushrooms, olives and salsiccia was the best, highly recommended! I got sourdough baguette as well - it’s fresh and crispy, but it’s a bit too hard to chew

We got 2 savoury pastries, and were positively surprised by the quality of eben just the dough itself! Laminated with a great butter flavour. Great quality bakery!

It was the best croissant I've ever had. The plain and one with chocolate was very good. I haven't tried the others but they are also very good. And the coffee was very good. I would definitely recommend it.

Our favourite local bakery and one of my favourites anywhere. The sourdough breads are baked fresh on site everyday, they are delicious - and the pastries are INCREDIBLE and really varied - buttery, crisp and flaky. Atmosphere and service are always welcoming, friendly and down to earth. A must-visit in de Pijp.

Fresh and delicious pastries, tasty and various bread, and warm owners. What else can be said there? This is my go to place for bread and whenever I'm there I grab a coffee and the kimchi croissant! They are amazing!

Such a lovely spot! I didn’t try the sweet pastries this time, but they looked amazing. I went for a cheesy croissant, and it was super tasty. The fresh juice surprised me!—made of carrot, ginger, and some other good stuff I can’t quite remember, but it was really refreshing. The inside is cozy, and there’s a small terrace outside where you can chill and enjoy the buzz of the Albert Cuyp Market. Definitely check it out if you’re around!

We order and orange and cardamom roll, chocolate and almond croissant, capuchino and hot chocolate, everything was delicious.

I'm so glad my daughter moved to De Pijp. When I babysit my grandson, it's practically a regular part of the day. We've been in Amsterdam for a few days now, and it's very tempting to buy something here every day. The bread, croissants, and various sweet options are delicious!

Nice bakery. I ordered a small sourdough, a pain au chocolate and ham/cheese croissant. I liked that they slice your bread for you (not all bakeries do this), which is appreciated. Everything was delicious. There are always lots of people, which is a good sign.

I think it's one of the best bakeries in Amsterdam, with delicious sourdough bread and delicious pastries. I had an Habanos, and it was so good it was addictive. The coffee is also excellent.

Regrettable patio behind set up market places in the middle of a tourist-filled street, no peace just chaos. Visited in em only found two types of pastries 1-2 pieces each left. But very nice and warm staff despite everything. Not their fault.

In my opinion, some of the best pastry in the city. The coffee is amazing, too. Make sure to check out this amazing bakery when visiting the Albert cuypmarket is situated just behind the market stalls.

I come here often for their Sourdough and usually buy a pastry or 2 as well. Today I had the gorgonzola, pear and walnut savory danish and it is one of the best pastries I have ever had. It was perfectly crispy and flaky. Can't wait to try more!

had the sweet and spicy mango papillon here and it exceeded expectations! not too sweet, which i prefer, and the mango flavor wasn't artificial or cloying. the spice level was just perfect, and they didn't skimp on the cream either there were a lot of other pastries that looked good (and interesting/creative!) but we didn't need more food. i would definitely go back if i could though my partner (who is picky about coffee) reported that the flat white was pretty good ☕

Pretty solid overall with reasonable prices and good food. I just wish my salty pastry could have been warmed up, it would have been way better, but when I asked they said no lol. Still a good café.

Came here for the pastries but the coffee was surprisingly amazing! The pastries all looked fantastic but we only got 2. And they were indeed fantastic. We will be back next time we are in the city! Love the big selection, a good variety of sweet and savory.

The wholemeal sourdough bread on Saturday’s is the best!

One of the best bakeries in the city when it comes to taste, quality and vibes. 🥐 I’ve been coming here for 3 years and everything they bake here tastes insanely good, the bread is also one of my favourite sourdoughs in the city. Basque cheesecake is better than at some other soecialty shops, definitely a must try of you are into cheesecake. The staff here is lovely and always greets us with their friendly attitude. ☺️

May 2025, Hidden behind the stalls of the market there is this bakery. Also making nice pastries and experimenting with croissant dough. I think even the first with the round filled croissants. Now they have small balls filled from croissant dough. I had the hazelnut brownie and the Basque cheesecake. Both were delicious. The Basque cheesecake better than some specialised cheesecake shops in Adam. Don't forget to buy next time ... ;-)

A cafe with a wide variety of pastries. I liked it. I bought a cinnamon roll to go, and it was delicious, although I've had better. What stood out most was the variety. Reasonable prices and prompt service.

Gran panadería: buenos panes de masa madre y pasteles. Tienen un buen café de un buen tostador también y todo está hecho con mucho cuidado. He almorzado en esta panadería prácticamente todos los días desde el primer día que abrieron hace años (bajo tripulación anterior y actual) sin quejas, calidad consistente. Muy vale la pena una visita, solo tenga en cuenta que tiende a ser hora punta y puede estar ocupado alrededor de las 9 y el mediodía.

Best bakkery and people of all Amsterdam. I really recommend the pistache rolls, the focaccia and the baguette.

We found this bakery by chance, went in and were very well received. We bought a baguette for €2, it was delicious! The lady let us open the baguette and eat it with butter, just the way we like it. The pain au chocolate is wonderful! The prices are very reasonable compared to what you pay in the city center. I highly recommend it!

Amazing bakery in De Pijp, you cannot miss it if you follow the yellow flag standing on the side of the market street. The sweet pastry is incredible (we love the habanos!), but let’s not forget the sourdough bread and the super tasty focaccia. Every time we feel like we need a cuddle in the morning we head straight to Rise :)

this place nice escape right off the market people here are really nice. All the baked goods are excellent too bad I missed the focaccia but the apple cinnamon bun was fantastic with good coffee, great cozy place. 👍🏼💕 Took a while to get back here. One of the best bakeries in the city. Savory and sweet croissants, rolls, buns. You can find something for every taste. My new favorite is spicy mango papillon. Well balanced mango taste with spicy kick. You can also buy bread here. Baguettes and sourdough. Also very tasty. And atmosphere is very relaxed. Make sure to come early as there are sold out pretty fast, especially on the weekend.

Puddingbroodje gekocht als tussendoortje. Was lekker ‘sticky’ en niet te zoet, maar had wel meer iets van pudding verwacht.

I love their cinnamon roll, chocolate babka roll, cardamom rolls… Pain au chocolat…. Their Sourdough !! Just plentiful!! All their sweet baked goods are not too sweet, perfectly moist and somehow perfectly spiced.. they’re all so delicious! I’m just glad I don’t live too close, or I’d always be there everyday 😆

I’ve tried many bakeries, but this one is on another level! The croissant was perfectly flaky and airy, and the sourdough was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. They also use wild yeast in both!

What can I say... if you go to the market you have to stop by Rise bakery. Run by a young couple, one Italian, the other Spanish. Nice, professional. They run the place making you feel at home with high quality products. Excellent cappuccino and good coffee. The various types of bread made by them. sweets by breakfast and sandwiches also vegan. Best place for breakfast and/or a coffee in Amsterdam. Best pastries, best bread! One of the reasons I only fly in and out through AMS despite living in Germany !!! Worth every minute in the train!
