We had lunch there for the first time today, and it had a super nice, cozy atmosphere! I didn't find the service very enthusiastic. My partner and I both ordered the pea soup and were looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I've never had such bad pea soup... it was very bland, didn't taste like pea soup, the sausage was overly seasoned, and the texture was very unpleasant, resembling baby food. We both finished a quarter of the soup, plus a few pieces of bread and butter. Unfortunately, we didn't have a knife to spread the butter on... When asked if we enjoyed it, we mentioned it, and the young woman immediately offered to remove the soup from the bill, which was very sweet! We indicated we were willing to pay for one soup, since we had eaten quite a bit.

We went here for lunch on Sunday. The food was truly delicious, but the floor and high chair weren't clean, and we had to wait quite a while. We wanted to give it another try today, but unfortunately, we were turned away because my niece had her puppy with her. That wasn't hygienic because of the open kitchen. We found this odd, because last Sunday there was a cat inside on a bar stool, which apparently belongs to the restaurant. Not a problem for me, but it feels a bit contradictory. It's a shame we were turned away, especially since it wasn't exactly clean last time either.

I've been here a few times and I love it; so far, it's been for breakfast or coffee (or chai latte) with cake. The owner is very friendly and happy to chat. It feels like coming to her home. No fuss, no nonsense, so pure, she's just herself, and I love that. Fast service, nice menu. And: great outdoor chairs that I can fit into (I'm blessed with a larger frame)! Fantastic, highly recommended! When I noticed them, I got an explanation: she deliberately chose these chairs so we taller people wouldn't have to sit crumpled in them - 11 out of 10 for that alone! And then the cake: delicious!!!!! They also regularly have special pastries, not just standard, and always handmade. I also think the price is reasonable compared to what you pay elsewhere. Hats off!

My absolute favorite spot to drink a nice cappuccino, or eat a self-made sandwich. Recommended! Also a nice spot to work at the big table. With the warmth and coziness of Barbera you will quickly feel completely at home -:)

Made an appointment for a buffet for 55 people with a team outing. 3 sandwiches per person, soup, coffee/tea or milk and 1x soft drink. The appointments are changed afterwards (while we are there) due to a limited budget. For €15 per person. You get 2 slices of baguette and half a cardboard cup with onion or tomato soup and 1 drink instead of 2. Tomato soup is lukewarm, onion soup is sweet. I can't even manage to serve the (paid separately) latte warm. Very poor service and atmosphere. Missed opportunity.

food was bad, I had nachos with chicken, forgot to add chicken, then I got a bowl of chicken on the table in a grumpy manner cappuccino was dirty tasted like water service was bad, never asked if it was tasty.

Nice place to go with young children. You can enjoy your coffee and something to eat and your child can play.

I come in and there are 2 staff members, 1 is putting flowers outside and 1 is slower than a snail race in the winter, I have literally been waiting there for 6 minutes and she is going to have an extensive chat with someone. When the 15 minutes (I don't wait longer if there's no one in front of me!) were over, I left without being able to order anything.

Friendly staff. Bouncer with roast beef good. Fortunately, there is no fuss that we don't eat. It's a shame to throw that away. Food waste. We don't do that

I thought the setting of the store was very sad, poor and inconsistent service and I don't know who makes the drinks and coffee, but it was undrinkable, and then they expect you to pay money for this shitty menu, I will never come here again and I don't recommend coming here, it is still a disappointment.

It's so nice here. Definitely worth having lunch here. The roast beef sandwich we had was really yum and the special local bitterballen were also very yum. Very friendly and helpful service. Top OpdeHoek👍🥳🕺💃.

Wrongful accusations and unprofessional attitude It's sad to see how some entrepreneurs deal with feedback. Instead of responding professionally, vague assumptions are made and customers are wrongly accused. I want to make one thing very clear: we have explicitly asked the staff for permission in advance to record content at this location. It is logical that we did not do this directly with the owner: if a staff member agrees, you can assume that this is also on behalf of the company. The fact that there are apparently internal communication problems is not something that should be passed on to the customer. Then, without any reason, we are accused of lies and dismissed as rude, while we have actually acted politely and professionally. The owner's reaction only confirms how unreasonably she is handling this situation. Instead of taking responsibility for the miscommunication within her own team, she chooses to attack customers and portray them in a bad light. In addition, the tone of her response is derogatory and passive-aggressive, and she tries to place the blame squarely on us. It seems that criticism is simply not accepted here and that every negative review is immediately dismissed as an attack. This is not how a hospitable entrepreneur treats customers. If you are looking for a place where you as a customer are valued and treated decently, I recommend you go elsewhere. Here people seem more concerned with accusing customers than with actually being hospitable.

The child loves to play there and mom can have a coffee, good concept! I thought it was a bit dirty, the floor was dirty and we were there in the morning and the men's toilet (for my son) was very dirty. When I reported it to the girl behind the counter, there was no real response.

Nice place for the smaller children to play while you have something to eat and drink. Overall a nice concept, excellent food and tasty homemade cakes. I must say that it is a bit dirty. Both the case and the crockery. The children are given a metal straw in their drink that has not seen a brush in its entire life. Just shine a flashlight into it. Still, I would come back because the kids like it. One thing I didn't understand is that the employee (owner?) constantly asked the children to play quietly... hello... they are children and they weren't even playing that loudly. Wasn't my child by the way. Diapers all over the place

Despite its size, the atmosphere is intimate. You are also not rushed to pay quickly. Recommended!

Ik had een bespreking met collegae.. Fijne ontvangst door eigenaresse. Duurde even voordat we alllemaal aanwezig waren maar dat maakte niet uit.. Lunch besteld, was verzorgd en heerlijk. Koffie aan te raden!

Ik had een zakelijke meeting in deze lunchroom en we hadden vooraf toestemming gevraagd aan de barista om wat content op te nemen en kleine lampen mee te nemen. De barista gaf ons expliciet akkoord, dus we gingen aan de slag. Tijdens het filmen kwam de eigenaresse echter boos op ons af. Ze beschuldigde ons ervan dat we niets hadden gevraagd en noemde ons zelfs leugenaars. Dit leidde tot een ongemakkelijke en onaangename discussie waarbij zij zich op een zeer onprofessionele en agressieve manier gedroeg. Tot mijn verbazing zei ze dingen als: *"Ja, je ziet toch dat die barista 17 is?"* Hoe kan ik als klant weten hoe oud iemand is? Bovendien mag je ervan uitgaan dat je personeel alles goed communiceert. Als dat niet het geval is, is dat iets wat intern opgelost moet worden en niet door betalende klanten op zo’n botte manier af te kafferen en openlijk te beschuldigen. Dit soort passief-agressief gedrag tegenover klanten is totaal onacceptabel en onprofessioneel. Deze ervaring heeft onze dag volledig verpest. Dit is zeker geen plek waar je je welkom of gewaardeerd voelt als gast. Ik raad deze lunchroom absoluut niet aan

Imagine un comedor con una gran área de juegos dirigida a los niños pequeños. Suena como un gran lugar para llevar a sus pequeños, ¿verdad? Bueno, piénsalo de nuevo. Este es probablemente uno de los cafés más antipáticos para niños con una zona de juegos para niños en La Haya. Primero están todas 'las reglas' que los niños necesitan cumplir. No gritar, no gritar, no ir al baño solo. Todas las cosas con las que puedo vivir, ya que no quieres que los niños se comporten de una manera rebelde y derriben el lugar. Pero si tiene un rincón de juegos con un tobogán grande, mini cocina y una casa de juegos dirigida a los niños, puede esperar que jueguen allí y sean ruidosos. Uno de los miembros del personal estaba constantemente dando malos ojos y miradas muy hostiles hacia el "área de juegos infantiles". Lo que me hace preguntarme: si no te gusta que los niños jueguen en tu café, o tal vez incluso no te gustan los niños en absoluto. ¿Por qué construyó un área de juegos infantiles en su cafetería? ¿Esperas que todos los niños jueguen en completo silencio? ¿Sin hacer ruido ni llorar? Cualquiera que haya tenido hijos o tenga hijos pequeños sabe que esto es un deseo. Cuando pienso en ello, las reglas por sí mismas no son muy amigables y acogedoras para los niños para empezar: se puede jugar aquí, pero aquí sobre seis reglas que básicamente son agresivas pasivas hacia los niños. Me parece muy contradictorio. He estado en muchos cafés que tenían áreas de juego en todo el mundo y honestamente nunca me encontré con tal hostilidad hacia los niños. En cuanto a la comida, era terrible y caro por lo que tenemos. Las tortitas venían sin azúcar en polvo y jarabe. Tuvimos que pedir jarabe y luego recibimos múltiples botellas de jarabe que estaban tan bien como vacías. ¿Cómo es posible? El saté de pollo consistía en dos palitos muy pequeños con un poco de pollo servido con salsa sate fría. Este plato era de casi 20 €. Tuvimos una cena decente en un restaurante muy conocido en La Haya por un poco más de lo que pagamos en total por el almuerzo en un ambiente antipático para los niños. Y casi me olvido de mencionar lo sucio y deteriorado que estaba el área de juegos. Probablemente no cumpla plenamente con las normas de salud y seguridad como área de juegos infantiles si el consejo lo revisa. Esta cafetería realmente necesita replantearse su concepto, y si realmente quiere tener un área de juegos para niños cuando tienen personal caminando que claramente no les gustan los niños. Incluso vi a un miembro del personal caminando hacia la cocina mientras se quejaba de niños llorando y/o haciendo ruido (lo que vi y escuché). Tratar a tu invitado (pequeño) con tanto desdén/falta de respeto es una lástima. No volveremos aquí de nuevo.

Nice place to stop for a tasty and affordable sandwich. Service is friendly and calm. Exceptionally, sometimes a lady who is very sullen and feels it necessary to concern herself with your personal affairs, which is a shame.

Great for a coffee or tea. Sandwiches are okay, but not special. Ordered snacks, overfried and received quite limited (only frikandels). Had to ask for sauces and then they indicated they were out of mayo and mustard. The children's corner is nice, but I actually think it's all a bit dirty. A real shame.

After repeatedly asking for a sandwich, the response was repeatedly, "I'll be right there," which ultimately took about 45 minutes, after which we decided to get our sandwich elsewhere. Well, sorry, busy, new, etc. Tip, ask a colleague for help if you are not coping and give customers information, that often gives more understanding.

Gezellige lunchroom. Veel plek om te zitten en kindvriendelijk. Echter na 16 uur geen taartjes meer. Jammer. Ook de chia latte was echt minder, met een theezakje en veel melk. Nacho ook apart, saus onderop en droge nacho bovenop. Service verder prima. E

Deze fijne plek weer eens een bezoekje gebracht. Lunchroom Op de Hoek, is toch wel onze favoriete lunchroom in de Vlierboomstraat met de unieke huiskamersfeer. Hierdoor voelen wij ons net als iedereen thuis in het restaurant en op het terras. Het was nog lastig kiezen uit het grote aanbod van de lekkerste tosti’s, broodjes en salades. We gingen uiteindelijk voor twee van de wel negen verschillende soorten belegde broodjes. En we genoten van een heerlijk glaasje Port in het zonnetje op het terras. Om de lunch af te sluiten kozen we voor een punt cheesecake en chocoladetaart met de Pinot Gris uit de Elzas erbij... Martin Stappen in Den Haag

A hidden gem of the neighborhood. Cozy and colorful, there are even board games and a playing area for kids. Very nice staff with fast service. Great food for a budget friendly price. I recommend the salmon & cream bagel. Will definitely come back!

Vriendelijke maar trage bediening en het eten en drinken is oké maar niet bijzonder. Als je een rustig gesprek wil voeren of gewoon even ontspannen een kopje koffie wil drinken, dan moet je hier niet zijn. Er is een enorme speelhoek met klimrek en het lijkt hier dan ook meer op een kinderdagverblijf dan op een lunchroom met veel schreeuwende en rennende kinderen. Leuk als je met jonge kinderen gaat waarschijnlijk, maar anders niet.

Friendly service, spacious and cosy interior and a terrace outside. Cakes seem homemade and of good quality, and a menu with a lot of variation. Prices are very fair; in our neighbourhood products of the same quality cost 30% more.

Beste lunchroom van Den Haag. Kom hier al jaren en ik had eigenlijk al veel eerder een review moeten schrijven. Persoonlijk ben ik verslaafd aan de Cheesy Chorizo. Dat is een broodje dat je alleen in deze lunchroom kunt krijgen. Die is gewoon perfect. Eigenaresse en personeel zijn vriendelijk en informeel. De zaak is lekker ruim en authentiek sfeervol ingericht (dus niet de hipstermode die je overal ziet). Eten en drinken is van goede kwaliteit met als uitschieter dus de "Cheesy".

Even geborreld met een snack. Bediening is vriendelijk maar ze zijn met weinig collega's waardoor het soms wat lang duurt voordat je je bestelling krijgt.

Leuk met vrienden, gezin met kids

We zijn hier met een grote groep geweest, het was erg gezellig. Het personeel is vriendelijk en er waren wat glutenvrije opties.

Lunchroom is best groot en ze hebben een grote leuke speelplek voor kids. Zeker waardevol. Het is best sfeervol ingericht. Kaart is divers genoeg. Kan hier met grotere groepen terecht. Service was vriendelijk en op tijd. Wel paar tips (puur waar ik me persoonlijk aan kan storen omdat IK hier gevoelig voor ben); tafel plakte wel, vond ik onaangenaam. De toiletten hadden geen wc papier en zeep, had dit wel doorgegeven. Wat als gevolg heeft dat men de papieren handdoekjes in het toilet gaat deponeren of in de mandjes, kan verstoppingen veroorzaken en dit is niet echt hygiënisch. In de grote vrouwen wc vond ik het daardoor ook onaangenaam ruiken. Ga voor prullenbakken die afgesloten zijn, hygiënischer, voorkom je geurtjes mee en is beter voor het aangezicht. Mandjes zijn wel cute maar toch. Zorg voor een voorraad aan wc papier op toilet zelf. Licht keldergeur hing er bij de wc Luchtverfrissing kan dit meer naar de achtergrond brengen.

Makkelijk bereikbaar, wel wat lastig met parkeren. Relaxte bediening, prima eten, tegen een redelijk prijs.

Gezellig aan een lange tafel met de familie geluncht. Mooie verjaardag gevierd.

De capucino mag iets warmer als het kan. Verder leuke zaak vol met kinderen gezellig.

Gezellig informeel lunchen. Je kan er ook ontbijten. Ruim en in gezellige huiskamer sfeer. Lekker eten.

Het zal ongetwijfeld een leuk koffietentje zijn maar toen ik er was zoveel spelende, rennende kinderen....het lijkt wel een creche! als je rustig wilt kletsen met elkaar kan je beter ander koffietentje zoeken.

Heel groot speelgedeelte, maar heel vies. Vies en kapot speelgoed en de stofwolken zijn van een afstand te zien. Jammer dat de ramen ook zo vies zijn, het ziet er wat smoezelig uit. Taartje en de koffie waren erg lekker!

Heel lang moeten wachten op de lunch. Eten was oke maar niet wat we er van verwacht hadden. Tosti was net niet zwart.

Fijn plekje met leuke speelhoek om met kleine kids te spelen, die vermaken zich prima hier. Heerlijke appeltaart en verse jus. Vriendelijke bediening. Tot snel weer :)

Angefangen von der netten Begrüßung, frisch gebackene Baguettes und Croissants, frisch gepresster Orangensaft, leckerer Cappuccino, Käse, Schinken und Roastbeef bis zur angemessenen Bezahlung war alles perfekt - best breakfast we ever had in the netherlands

Lekker buiten in het zonnetje met een heerlijke verse jus d’orange, bagel met zal en een yoghurt met vers fruit. Helemaal goed. We komen hier zeker terug!
