Lunchroom "Zoals van Ouds" (Voorheen Brasserie ThuisHaven) in Wijk 01 Almere Haven

If there's one entrepreneur in Almere whose food is always a fantastic experience, it's Harald. Years ago, Harald had his Grandfetaria in the Homeruskwartier, and after a brief hiatus from Almere, he's now back with Ook van Ouds, and you can immediately tell Harald is back. It's a go-to spot for my mother and I whenever we're near Haven, and we always enjoy Harald's delicious food and hospitality.

It was again as enjoyable as ever, many thanks Lenie and Edwin.

It's just a shame that the satay is made from chicken thigh, it should just be made from fillet

The quality of the food, the atmosphere and the service is of a very high level that certainly does not occur anywhere else in Almere. Simply great. RECOMMENDED!

Unfortunately we had a bad experience. We ordered 3 glasses of wine and asked for a glass of tap water. This was not possible, we had to order Spa red or blue. The glasses of red wine were filled below the line and the waitress did not respond to our customer. We will never go there again. Sender Jos

My mother and I tried the 4-course lunch today. In a word: great! The service, the food and the wines. It could have cost a bit more but it was really worth it! I have been here a few times with my husband and daughter to eat from the menu. We have also eaten well then. The prices are average. Not cheap but not too expensive either. They have good sandwiches but also a nice breakfast platter. My husband was very charmed by the warm meat sandwich and the 'old-fashioned' fried egg sandwich.

Went there for dinner because we wanted to have some lunch and are not from the area. We were warmly welcomed with someone at the door “as usual” but otherwise Everything is mainly focused on earning. Our daughter is 3 and eats little to nothing, so we asked for an empty plate and cutlery and some extra sauce, all of which was charged for... so not hospitable as it used to be. When I asked why this was it was because they are so competitively priced that they have to charge for all of this? It wasn't that cheap at all, not much choice, nothing for kids and the taste of everything was nothing to write home about. The eggs were still fluffy and I could go on like this for a while…. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Waste of my money.

This lunchroom offers very good quality lunch products for an affordable price. The staff is very hospitable and the owner is a "joker" but has the craftsmanship as a host😉

They help you so kindly. And a not too big card. Which makes the food perfect. Another offer of draft beer for 1 euro. We had a very pleasant afternoon.

Very friendly service, especially if you are served by the owner. Food is fine, but not exceptional. Good atmosphere too, I prefer the back room where you sit a bit more quietly.

During the Christmas market, we just decided to grab a table with the four of us (2 adults, 2 kids) as usual. Mostly young girls entered who did not say hello and stood collectively when the food was served. Waited 10 minutes and not even a hello let alone taking an order. I heard more people in my immediate environment complaining about the same thing. Too bad because this was never the case in Harold's other occasions.

Cozy atmosphere, host has a sense of humor and likes to joke with you. The coffee and sandwiches are very tasty!

Cozy place to eat. Nice cheerful service and good food. No special things on the menu, but what they have is just good. In that respect they certainly live up to their name. Absolutely recommended.

An attractive and cozy lunchroom in the center of Almere-Haven. Today I had dinner with my son. The food was delicious. The pea soup is definitely recommended. Put together fries & frikadellen for my son (wasn't on the menu as such), really great. We will definitely eat here more often.

We came with 15 people and something went wrong with the reservation. That clearly caused some stress, but we still received very friendly help. Cozy decor and delicious food.

Thuishaven had the best bouncer in Almere and the surrounding area and super sweet staff! Even with the new name (As usual), nothing has changed in terms of food and service. Ate delicious stew with fries yesterday! Recommended!

Had lunch here, forgot to take pictures. Cappuccino was disappointing. The meat croquettes were tasty. Too bad that if you want butter with your bread you have to pay € 1.00 extra for it.

Had lunch with colleagues yesterday. Had a satay with bread and sweet potato fries. The food and service were both top notch. We were also regularly asked if we wanted a drink. Good service too. Recommended.

Had a quick lunch today. Even though there was a huge group inside, we were kindly let in and given a nice table. We were helped quickly and we also received our food quite quickly. Tasty carpaccio salad. The carpaccio is nice and soft, the lettuce underneath is nice and fresh, with a good dressing. The only tip would be to make 2 rolls instead of 1 and add a piece of (herb) butter to complete it. Viking bread with chicken thighs, beautiful to look at and very tasty. Ham/cheese bouncer, absolutely delicious, as an bouncer should be and ordered as an extra with onions and mushrooms. The plates were empty quickly. Thank you for the nice and quick lunch (the break is an hour, so it's extra nice if this works out). I really enjoyed it and a great asset to Almere Haven. We will be back soon

Had a super delicious lunch at Als Van Ouds. Both sandwiches and drinks were perfectly prepared and the fries were crispy, you couldn't be happier. The service is pleasant and requests regarding food are well attended to. If you ask for real fried bacon, you will get real fried bacon. I'd say give it a try!

We fancied a coffee. After a very warm welcome in a still empty shop (around 10.30 am) a nice coffee with a cookie that I didn't like because of the chocolate. But how thoughtful is it that you get a cookie that you do like with your second cup of coffee. I say…. Great service! We will definitely come back for lunch, we saw tasty things on the menu! (By the way, within half an hour there were many more guests, nice tent!)

Harald, Kenny and all the employees of Als van Ouds made my 70th birthday festive and with great hospitality! The food was delicious...congratulations to the chef! My guests and I enjoyed the warm and inviting atmosphere. Thank you! But a 'normal' visit to lunchroom 'Like van Ouds' is also really worthwhile! You will be welcomed with enthusiasm. You can choose from a varied and delicious menu and can also get great advice about the matching wines. Highly recommended for everyone, young or old... because hospitality and quality are truly 'Like old times'!

The name says it all, from ancient times. Here the catering industry is still as it should always have been. It starts with the door that is held open for you, then the way of serving, the choice of the lunch menu and then the dishes as you know them from old. Very nice experience, compliments to the entire team and "see you tomorrow" 😀

1st drink order waited a very long time. Staff was replenishing items instead of serving the order. The advertised brand of chocolate milk with whipped cream was a glass of milk with chocolate chips. Food also took a while. Then we ordered drinks and the waiter asked twice in a row what we wanted to drink. We ordered... but didn't get anything. We asked again... we didn't get anything... then we asked for the bill. Bill was not presented. Only when we were at the bar was the receipt put down. The service was very friendly but unfortunately not at all focused on his work. Food was also fine.

Uitstekende bediening, zeer netjes in navragen of alles smaakt en op tijd met nieuwe drankjes etc. Checken even of een glas weg mag als er nog een klein laagje in zit. Heel zorgvuldig. Bijzonder lekker eten, mooi opgemaakt, goede smaakcombinaties, voor een zacht prijsje. Winkelcentrum zelf oogt wat sfeerloos, maar de sfeer binnen is erg gezellig! En een rustig en ruim restaurant, zeer geschikt als iemand wat slechter ter been of prikkelgevoelig is. Topavond!

Kom er al geruime tijd.. hij weet wat er uit de keuken gaat en wanneer de glazen leeg zijn. Kan geen vorm kritiek vormen terwijl ik een kritisch persoon ben. Lekker dit niveau vast blijven houden!

Heerlijk gegeten en erg vriendelijk personeel. Enige minpuntje is dat op het plein en busbaan wat luidruchtige jongelui hangen. Maar daar kan het restaurant niets aan doen.

Met het idee even iets te drinken gaan zitten op het gezellige terras. Binnen 1 minuut geholpen door een vriendelijke jongeman die bij het brengen van mijn drankje vroeg of ik iets wilde eten. Ik koos de spaanse wrap van de grill. Een lekkere goedgevuldeh warme wrap met ruim beleg. Netjes gepresenteerd met verse sla op het bord welke met dressing was aangemaakt. Zeer prettige ervaring, lekker gegeten.

Beste brasserie in Almere en eigenlijk ook omstreken. Mooie seizoensgebonden kaart en zeer vriendelijk personeel. Enige minpunt is dat het dicht op een busbaan ligt. Maar daar heb je binnen weinig last van.

Leuke plek voor een lunch. Fijne kaart. Bediening mag nog wel iets beter opletten, zo moesten we drie keer vragen of de tafel schoon gemaakt kon worden alvorens het gebeurde.

Genoten van een Summerdeal menu. Kipsate en Opheo Parfait als dessert. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding prima. Echt lekker gegeten en de bediening was uistekend. Zeker aan te raden.

Zijn hier gaan eten met een grote groep collega's. Het eten was subliem en wij zijn ontzettend goed verzorgt. Voor wie heerlijk wilt eten, betaalbaar en goede services wilt is dit echt een aanrader!

Alleen koffie gedronken, dacht steeds dat ze dicht waren omdat het er van buiten zo donker uitzag.

Inmiddels 2 keer hier geweest. En beide keren een prettige ervaring. Personeel vriendelijk, kaart is goed. Het eten was ook uitstekend en niks op aan te merken. Aanwinst voor Almere Haven. Ik gun ze nog een voorspoedige toekomst!
